Morning from a sunny Northampton (Well at the moment) we have clouds building from the south west.
Pinch punch etc Mel, You are right where dids August go, more to the point where's the year gone.
Lewis's Mum is coming for him this afternoon, As we are going down to watch him play football Sunday, she didn't think we would want to stand out there again this evening. Good thinking.
Ann enjoy your few days away, Will you try to pop in and see Mel,????
Ros taking Lewis to the inema this morning "planet of the apes" She seems to sit through all the different films, I couldn't the noise would upset my head :-0 :-0 :-0

Ros has just gone off with Lewis to the cinema.
Have just read about the nite comb. Every evening after school, we would be made to sit at the table with a sheet of newspaper over it, and Mum would go through our hair with the nite comb. And she found would be cracked between her thumb nails eh eh. Wew had the nite nurse who attended school on a regular basis. When evacuated we were running alive with them, and the old C## who had us never bothered to clean us. We were only 3 or 4 and my elder sister 6 or 7. Makes my head itch even now :-0 :-0 :-0
Ros just mentioned to Lewis, who was holding a Minton porcelain of a hand with a brass tom thumb in it. Put it down, that is worth a lot of money. I bought it for her from a new forest shop back in '79. cost £30.00 I just went on Ebay and there is a 2nd on there at £150.00 Ours is in perfect condition. You find things out every day, I never believed it could be worth that. and the cat lays on the window sill beside it. Will move it now :-D :-D :-D
The day has turned out great for Jane, I can just see her lying back with a glass of wine, enjoying the views. When she tries to get up from those seats, other punters will get a view that they won't be expecting :-0 :-0 :-0
I am going to see if I can buy a scanner on Ebay, Conrad says he has three or four, but as yet not given me one. I won't ask again !!! stubbon old bugger aren't I. ???
Thruswt you are all enjoying the fine weather. I picked a load more tomatos this morning and peppers. Will go and look at the runners now, then Julia can take some home for dinner tonight.

Mel, the Ebook is O.K. I charged it all evening, but can't find the book I was half way through. But started another last night, might find the other again later.
My great Grandad, would pick up anything that was wollen and lying around. Undo it and knit it into JUMPERS. all different colours from the wools, this is what I was told by my mother. I remember going to school in grey flannel short trousers, white shirt and grey knitted V neck jumper. The coat was always 2/3 sizes to big with the cuffs tucked up. Mum would say you will grow into it. By the time you did the cuffs were a different colour the the rest of the coat !! They were the days. Liz is having trouble receiving my Emails with photo's attached. Like the "CHALK MAN" If it continues I will have to ask one of you to try to pass them on for me. I don't know why she dosen't get them when everyone else does.

Afternoon All,
Wall to wall sun here and very warm. There was me thinking summer had gone as well.
I hope the floor doesn't take long to do Pat. Dare I say it.......will they have finished then? I think it will help your grandson a lot to have an english friend to play with. They will be able to help each other. Thanks for the pic. Was your mum at the coronation party with you? My gran took me.
Mel, I thought about asking if it was ok to pop by, but I think with stops to eat it will be a 5-6 hour journey, not helped by having to get to the Truro match on the way and then home in time for the local match on the way back!! It doesn't really leave any time for detours this time........think I will be pooped by the time we get to where we are staying. I told OH he will be getting a red card if he uses the 'f' word the rest of the week!!! :-(
I enjoyed WDYTYA. How many little lads would have loved saying their gt uncle was a Lion Tamer!! lol
I bet Sofia will enjoy playschool Fiona.......I imagine there might be some other bossyboots there too so she will be in good company!!
Jane's had a lovely day for her punt. The tricky bit with boats is usually getting in and out.....hope it doesn't end in a splash!! :-0
My mum used to unpick worn out jumpers and knit new ones out of the wool.....also would buy ones to unpick from jumble sales.
The CHALK MAN is brilliant Frank!!

Evening all,
What a lovely sunny and warm day its been , hope Jane and Chris have enjoyed their punt today , i should think its been a good day on the river .
Ann, i loved the cottage with the pram.....got another today .. Fuschia cottage!! Had the family here all day , they arrived at 9.15 !!!! We went to a play park this afternoon , the little ones had a fine old time , we took bubbles and balls and had a good afternoon there, they were all tired when they went home a while ago .
Frank, the Chalk Man is really good , i wonder how long the pictures take him to do , and how annoying if he'd nearly finished and then the rain came down .
Fiona, it will be lovely for Sofia to play with other little ones , by the sound of her she'll keep them all in order LOL
Yes Shirl ,do love you lol i haven't seen a Claypots Castle , i'l have to keep a look out for one .
Time for a cuppa.

Well we are home after a rather eventful day.Who said DON'T FALL IN?? I didn't fall in the water ,but fell straight in the punt.I took one step down and the next minute was like a sack of spuds, face down on the bottom.I have wrenched my left thumb really badly and can't use it at the moment :-S :-S :-S Luckily I had some painkillers in my back so they helped. Other than that we had a wonderful day.Blue skies all day.We ate a smashing meal in Browns, had a wander round the shops.I bought a new bag and some books for the holiday. We decided to give the Museum a miss as I started to feel a bit yucky.I think Ihad given myself a good shake up. I haven't looked at photos yet as I think I am going to go to bed very soon. Will sort a few tomorrow. James is off to see his girlfriend for a few days,so am just getting him something to eat before he leaves. I will love you and leave you now and rest this poorly thumb. See you all tomorrow.x

Great new photo Mandy, I could tell it was you.
I bet you get a thrill when you find another cottage, especially a boot sale bargain, I don't know about a town, get a cathedral and you will have a city .....
Glad you enjoyed your day Jane, apart from falling into the punt, hope the thumb won't still be painful tomorrow. I've only been as far as the Record Office in Cambridge, a lot of my ancestors came from Six Mile Bottom, Cambs.
In case I don't get on here tomorrow, have a great week in Cornwall Ann, will look forward to some fantastic photos.
My mum used to do a lot of knitting too, and both me and my brother had cardies with different colour ribs or bands, or stripey ones, she was really using up odd bits of wool. It was the make do and mend era.
I enjoyed WDYTYA what a fantastic story but Larry Lamb got on my nerves a bit, he kept saying things twice, I say, he kept saying things twice ...lol

Mandy, I can't resist looking at each one you get!! How cute it is with the hanging baskets each side of the door. lol I'm amazed you keep finding so many different ones.
Thank you Shirl.........OH's cousin used to live near St Austell too. We were saying today that we are looking forward to a cream tea and seaside fish and chips while we are away. OMG I shall be wearing it on my hips when we get back!!
Oh no Jane, I bet that was really painful......your poor thumb too. No wonder you were all shook up after falling like that.
David, wasn't Richard Briers in 'Ever Decreasing Circles'? Is it tomorrow you have your ear done again......hope it is a success this time if so.
Early night for me too I think, I was awake till 3.00am this morning so should sleep better tonight I hope. Night all........xx

Maureen, there's one stall on the car boot that has the cottages , i'd love them all ,but hubby would have forty fits if i bought all of them !!lol
Ann, i usually have a look on eb*y and see what they sell for , i'd like some of those that light up , i'am going to have a look for a cabinet to put them all in soon.

Morning All,
No earlybirds today then!! Dull here and quite cool at the moment. I have lots to do before we go tomorrow, so will get stuck in to finally decide what tops to take etc....weather looking more rainy for next week at the moment......but the forecast seems worse than what we actually get just lately.
Hope Jane feels a bit better today.......I bet there will be stiff muscles later after the fall yesterday.
I hope the new stronger patches are helping Ros and good luck at the docs today David. :-)
Must buzzz now......BBL

It is another lovely morning. The sun has just about broken through the cloud.
Is it today Fiona goes for her results of the Endoscopy and Scan?I seem to have lost track again. And it's tomorrow you are off Ann?I hope this weather stays for you.We go next saturday. I was going to strip the bed today but think it will be a bit awkward so will leave it for now.
