The Doctor who diagnosed the ear wax problem said ti put head to one side and put 3 drops in then get hold of the shell of the ear and turn it around a few times. This I assume loosens the wax and lets the oil work into it.
Ear nose and throat are connected I believe which might account for the sore jaw etc :-(

Well! an up date on the house saga!! The chap at thebottom of the pile has now agreed to sign his contract (!!!) and exchange on Friday!! believe it when we see it!! have threatened to pull out of the sale if this doesn't happen! we shall see. Meanwhile we have been going gently up the wall which clearly can't go on, so here's for hoping!! Had a good day yesterday. Took Merlin to a show, met up with loads of friends and Merlin came third in his class which was quite good. Did us good as it took our minds of the house problem! Will keep you all updated!!!

Hi all,
David, my Mums old wife's tale. Was to put cooking salt in a clean frying pan and heat it till it starts to go brown. Transfer to a clean tea towel, wrap it up and place you ear on it. The chemicals in the salt help to draw the wax.We used it all the time as kids. and always seemed to work.
Shirl, Glad to see you on here, how are you managing. ??? thinking of you all the time, has the worst gone now.????
Mandy, I think I will move to Norfolk, It's been B cold here today, I had to put jogging bottoms on, Ros needed a bit of heating on , it's off now, but took the chill off.
Jane, Don't end up in the River Cam. on Thursday. Conrad took Ros and I there last year. Smashing trip, and all the lovely buildings. Have been there by "ROAD" but not the same. Hope you ENJOY yourselves.
Mel, I must have missed your post. Hope Mr Mel is OK.

Evening All,
Let's hope Friday is THE day then Liz. You will be on edge with this all the time until the deed is done now. Good for Merlin getting a third prize, what a good boy.......did you get any pics?
Your chimney is ready for roaring winter fires now then Jane. Dad always used our soot on the garden. My tortoise, Horace, buried himself in the pile of it one year. Luckily a back leg and bit of shell were still poking out so we found him!
I have been in The Longshoot a few times William........they do a cheap and good carvery there. OH has told me the previous garden centre at Dobbies was Cross Lanes.
It wasn't a bad day for the dog show then Mel.......and you came back with goodies too! That sounded a nasty cut your OH got on his wrist........can't leave them 5 minutes can you? I hope he's covered it well for clearing the garage out.
The resemblance is uncanny isn't it Maureen. I hardly ever look at that pic, but as soon as I saw your new one it reminded me of that little girl!
Mandy, I had a break from the rocks till we got some fabric to protect the liner behind the waterfall and got the pipe to take the water to the top. Also I don't want to do my back in before we go away this weekend!!! There is only the waterfall to build and a little rock platform for me to see the bunnies in the back field, then the rocks are done I think!! lol Still plenty more to do though before the patio is done in October. Is your nasty bite getting better now? All where the skin was red where mine was was has peeled off, just like sunburn.

Morning,
Have'nt read yesterdays post yet but had this from our Kim.
Hi Mel, Can't get on to the threads - they keep telling me they will get onto the problem. I can access my tree, but that's about all. I did try to go back in via your email, but that won't work either. Can you give my regards to everyone and let them know I'm not sulking. Just about given up on Genes and all these web problems. Best of wishes to everyone. Thanks kindly. Kim xx

Fiona, Our heating came on at about 7.00. W£hen I got up the bungalow was quite warm, It must have3 been a lot cooler last night, for it to come on. The sun came out earlier but has now gone cloudy. Ros has put the Sheets and whites on the line, It's not even moving yet.NO BREEZE. My E book froze on a page last night. Just asked a question to Son# and to answer me on line they want £22.00 If it doesen't work, I will have to ask another question. COULD BE Blood# expensive. So I have put it on charge, and see what happens. I phoned a friend, and he has offered to look at it.

Afternoon All,
Dull, and dull here.....washing's on the line but I don't think it will do much good out there! I want to get some of it ironed for my hols too. With the weather cooling down so quickly, have decided to take my fleecy jacket for the 'sea breezes'.
My back seems a bit twangy this morning, must have lain funny as it was ok last night. Doing more packing today, sorting books to take and cds for the journey.
We went for a walk around the park where the ice house is yesterday and ended up playing ball with a collie dog! lol He came rushing up through the woodland and dropped his ball at my feet. I kept throwing it and off he went after it and kept bringing it back and dropping it down again and waiting. He took it to OH once but wouldn't drop it or give it to him. His lady owner then appeared and said it was a 24 hour job throwing him balls.....never tires of it!!
We called at the library after and I ended up borrowing 5 books on genealogy I hadn't seen in there before. Now I need a couple more notepads to jot stuff down!!
Frank, you aren't doing anything wrong with your pics.....they have come through fine. I think it is just that some providers systems don't communicate very well. I can send pics to everyone except Shirl, but can't send more than 1 at a time to Pat. If it is the e-mail with several pics that hasn't worked for some, you could try sending those 1 at a time.
Well I'd better go and do the veg for dinner now..........more lovely runners, potatoes and carrots from the garden.

It's certainly a lot fresher in the mornings and evenings but I'm still hoping for an Indian Summer.
Where are you going on hols Ann, don't remember you mentioning it before, are you off this weekend?
I got all your lovely photos Frank.
Watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas last night, at last, something worth watching on TV, thought I'd read the book but didn't remember it. Another film on this afternoon The Memory Keeper's Daughter, have recorded it, I've definitely read this book., let's hope the film is as good.
I was wondering what had happened to Kim, good to know she is okay. Sheila hasn't been on for a while either.

Love the new photo Pat. Don't know if it's because they are black & white but we've all got a look of the 50's about us. In my case early 50's .....
