High from the shorts person.!!!!
I don't know why I took any trousers with me for the weekend. Have been in shorts and tee shirts, even to go to the pub.
We had a lovely weekend, not really doing anything, unless you wanted to. I did a lot of reading and playing with my computer.
Ros is almost like her old self. She had a nice chicken dinner yesterday, ham salad with the trimmings last night. This morning cerial, and toast.
Jan, SKYPED Harvey to let him know how she was. He said they are coming home today. He's not well, the apendix operation, didn't go to plan, by all accounts, and he is struggling to go to the toilet, and feels like someone is trying to pull his B##LS off. They hope to be home tomorrow, then he can get to the doctors/hospital. The problem is,his step-daughter gets married Sunday. We also found out that the Grooms father (they live in Spain) has been rushed to hospital, and they don't give him a lot of chance to survive. Not just one thing wrong with him either.. Will get more details when Harvey home.
Ros has poped down for a Scout fund meeting this afternoon. so she must be feeling better in herself. IF we can get rid of this PAIN, I for one will be overjoyed.
Kim, Just keep hanging in there my love. We are all thinking of you.
3 <3 <3 <3 We often see DUBO mentioned on the Australian air ambulance service, late at night over here. Mel, It's nice that you have a choice of colours for the tin roof. The silvery one used to reflex the sunshine, and stood out like a sore thumb. Hope you are getting over your aches and pains,
I hope all you other "ELDER WOMEN" are getting rid of your ailments. and that Shirl, hasn't had a seeing too recently :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Your MOUTH will get you Hung. Hows you peas and tomatoes. ???
I just picked another pot of tomatoes, loads of runner beans two more cuecumbers, and a courgette.

Lol Shirl I'm still chuckling!.I'ts good to have a laugh :-D :-D I have made Spag sauce!!!!! well I say I have made it.I have really but with a tin of passata added as mine seemed so watery.I have put in lots of fresh basil,Fresh Oregano, and garlic and now it looks and smells great.Do I pretend it is all out own tomatoes?????????.Mind you I didn't really have a clue what I was doing.I pooed the toms in boiling water ,then iced water to get skins off then stuck them in the blender for a whizz .Then pushed it through a seive to get pips etc out. That is when it was just watery and pale in colour.Did I do the right thing ?I wonder if I just don't have the right type of toms as they are just little Cherry ones.(lots of pips and not a lot of pulp)
Frank that must be awful for Harvey.Has he not seen someone while they have been in France? The sooner he is seen the better me thinks :-S
It's still a nice day although there has been a fair bit of cloud.Looks grim tomorrow morning :-( :-(

Evening All,
Well, what is this thread coming to with talk of 'seeing to' and 'deflowering'. lol Now I see Jane has said she 'pooed' her tomatoes in boiling water.....yuk, yuk, none for me tonight thank you!!!! lol At least Frank seems to be minding his 'peas and cues'. lol
Sorry to hear about poor Harvey, Frank.......I hope he improves soon.....can't be a nice feeling. Awful news about the groom's father too, I bet they are all shocked. Good news about Ros, though, eating better now and wanting to go out. As you say, they just need to sort out the pain for her and she would feel better still.

OH went up to Hyde to a match with a car load of 'mates' this afternoon Frank.......as soon as he realised MAN U were playing Spurs he set off earlier as he thought there could be 70,000 there and expected to get caught up in the traffic.
Mandy you have had some nice days out lately and have had some nice weather too! Those biters must be saying 'yumyum' when they see you. Try taking antihistamines for your bite as well as the cream.......the doc told me to carry on with them even with antibiotics. They are supposed to 'damp down' the inflammation. I bet it is really uncomfortable.......at least mine was near my ankle where you could keep it cool with no clothing on it. I noticed today that there are lots of wasps about.
Fiona, I found it useful to take pics of things in shops that might be suitable when we did our rooms. Mood boards are a great idea, a bit like scrap books.......fun to do and helps get things right.
Kim, it must be a nightmare to have a young daughter with lots of confidence but with no experience of life!! Frying pan and fire come to mind but it doesn't sound like she's in listening mode!!
We have rearranged our carriage ride for Wednesday now as the weather looks grim tomorrow. I have been told we are having our meal at a pub......with the horse and carriage!! lol OH said would it be '3 jacket potatoes and a bale of hay', then!! lol I had to go out and buy a new thin waterproof today, just in case..........my old one seems to have SHRUNK with all the rain!! lol
I noticed one of the wheel nut covers was missing on the wheel the puncture was fixed on a few days ago. I was so annoyed as I watched the chap take all 4 off at the garage. OH said, oh well.........I said 'never mind oh well, I'm going to ring them about it'. ( the previous time they forgot to give me my locking wheel nut back ) Anyway, they couldn't find it, but have agreed to refund the cost if I get a new one so that was fair enough.
The nearest pub to us has started doing full english breakfast, so we thought we'd see what they were like this morning.......very good, help yourself to as much as you want at a fixed price. Then another customer on his way out came over and slid me a coupon he didn't want, so we only had to pay for one.

Locking wheel nuts brings back a memory Ann. A few years ago I was parked in Grey Street Newcastle. Came back to my car to find RNS tyre flat. I had wheel lock nuts on this car. Couldn't change the wheel as I'd mislaid the key. So went home on the bus,got a hammer a chisel and returned to car. Chisled lock nut so the chisel acted as a key. Changed wheel attracting a lot of attention. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Hope you are all ok this morning.BBL

Morning everyone,
Not raining here yet but blueish skies with white clouds and quite bright.
Frank Is is good news on the Ros front. So glad she has starting eating properly again after her worry. Lets hope she is now back on track and that the back pain eases up a bit. Hope Harvey feels better once he is home as there is no place I would rather be if feeling under the weather, wedding or no.
Jane I had to laugh at your pooed toms!! You can't make a good tom sauce with cherry toms. You need to grow some plum toms. I always grow a plant or two as they sell well out o the table. How did your courgettes do under the bench in the greenhouse???? My three plants are taking up nearly all the space down one side of the tunnel. Must take a picture for ref for next year to see what to grow where.
Ann good quip about Frank's P's and Q's!! I had to laugh. You are getting as quick as Gordon with your answers.
Hope our Kim feels a bit better today. Keep your chin up girl we are all thinking of you.
Mandy it sounds like a wasp or bee sting to me that you have on your side. As to the other one was it a normal fly or a horse fly. They love me and I come up with such a bump and nasty itch that as soon as I get one I have to take antihystamin tabs.
We have had no William for quite a few days now, I hope he has'nt left us!!!
And yes where are Pat and Anne?

Daughter no 1 a bit under the weather today so she is giving her exercise class a miss. that means, I will not be babysitting till about 5.00pm this evening when daughter comes to drop Sofia off before she goes to her work. so another relaxing day, must do some ironing and a bit of washing, need to wash my best dressing gown , I have 2 which I swop about depending how warm it is, I have to take a dressing gown and slippers to the hospital with me on Thursday as I have been told I will have to change into a garment which fties at the back , so the dressing gown in for my dignity , seemingly I walk to the procedure room and have to pass through a public area.

Mandy perhaps they were both horse fly bites. I know when I get one it itches like mad and I try very hard not to scratch it.
Have to pop down and get my prescription as they close this afternoon.

I had a little look up on Thomas Hardy on Ancestry and it seems he did'nt have any children. Interesting though. He started out as an architects clerk. Buried in Westminster Abbey in poets corner but his heart was buried with his first wife in Dorset where he came from.

Afternoon to all my lovlies,
Had a phone call from Harvey to say they got home about 1am this morning. He has been to the doctors. He has found a small groth at the bottom of his testicles. non maligant thank god. This is why he has been feeling like he has. !!! They have put him on Anti biotics, and he's got to go back next week.
He phoned again 15 minutes later to say the Grooms father had passed away this morning, no nrews as to when the cremation will take place. (I don't think they waste a lot of time in SPAIN). Ros said he was sobbing his heart out. due to the fact, today is the anniversary of his best friends death. who got killed in a motor cycle accident. (POOR OLD HARVEY) got a lot to sort out now, and not feeling in the best of health. We have offered to go down, and help if we can. We will wait and see.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been on lately but it's thanks to some good news for a change. My wife has been suffering terrible headaches for over two years now which even affects her vision. Luckily we refered to the consultant neurolgist at Coventry University hospital. He had her in for two weeks a short while back. She underwent test, MRI and a medication revue. Luckily there was no tumour or cancer but a thickening of the skull bone, ie; causing pressure. A form of osteoarthritus, he change her medication regime and she is so much better. Hence she likes to go out as much as possible when the weather allows, leaving me less time to be on here! Having said all that, I'm sure you will all be pleased to excuse me. We are sure that our GP's were thinking that she was making it all up, but it's amazing what going to the right medic achieves. We have found this over the past 15 years after she was diagonosed with oromandibular dystonia and we seemed to be collecting hospitals around the Midlands and as far as London. Anyway, sorry to go on, I'm just so pleased to report some positive results. Maybe it will encourage others not to give up hope.
Catch you all soon - meanwhile YOU all take care of yourselves.

It has taken me ages to catch up on all the posts. Haven't been on for a while, making the most of the sunny days. Have been sitting in the garden, in the sun, reading a book, in fact I've read the latest one in less than a week, very unusual for me, I'm a slow reader.
Loved to see the new photos Ann and Kim, I shall be changing mine a lot now I've got the hang of it, showing off really .....lol Looks like I've got my grumpy face on in the photo, probably mum wouldn't let me have or do something I wanted. Only had to smile at my lovely old dad and he would have given me the top brick off the chimney. It's quite easy Jane, well if I can do it, it must be, when you've posted just click on update profile and follow it from there.
I didn't get photos from Ann either, what were the free taster session papers, must have missed a few posts.
I think that's really nice Jane, to have neighbours over for dinner, there's no community anymore, not around here anyway, although I don't think I would accept an invitation from any of my neighbours, there idea of a mild curry would blow my socks off.
That's an excellent idea Fiona, a mood board and thinking about how you want to change the kitchen/diner will give you something to focus on.
Kim I would say your daughter is MUCH too young to be moving in with her boyfriend, does he live with his parents. How would she support herself, oh, I know, bank of mum and dad. So she wants her freedom but still wants to be dependent.
