Evening All,

Not been a good day on here has it? Well, I can only add a bit more gloom. Where we are is all bungalows, fields to the back and to the side of our neighbours, not overlooked at all which is why we bought. Now they are looking to build houses on the side field where the ponies are. It looks like our back garden will be overlooked by the bedrooms of a block of the houses. A whole row of them will be built across the end of the cul de sac and our new view out of the front to the side will be back gardens and washing!! Just as we have spent a fortune on getting everything as we want it as well!! It has stopped our garden plans now as we may want to move, although this will devalue our property as well. I feel quite sick.

Jane, poor Hannah seems to be between a rock and a hard place. She needs urgent expert advice.

Sheila Report 12 Mar 2011 00:46

Jane sorry had not read all the threads feeling fed up of late having to lie in bed. I do feel sorry for Hannah property is terrible now to buy and sell.
My friends daughter wanted to buy a small house and it fell through because she could not sell her own. I understand shes lowered the price twice and is almost giving it away now. I will pray it turns out ok soon dreadful worry. I had to get up had a terrible pain in my chest but it went after I took some tablets for a upset stomach .

I hate to have you upset Jane you and Mel are my support right now.
Mel April is better but still very bad from the marks and shes not been very good and misses daddy she said.

Oh dear, we all seem to be having such a difficult time at the moment. Ann, I'm SO sorry to hear about the proposals affecting your house, I don't know quite what to say, except that as a friend of mine used to say,'Just when you think you've cracked it, Life has a habbit of rearing up and throwing buckets of shit in your face!!' So, here's for MORE bad news! We had Mark on the phone last night; apparently he's had a long chat with Laura, and, (you've got it) there's 'trouble at Mill' to cut a long story short her marriage is in trouble. Apparently their Coach business is suffering from the recession, high fuel prices being the main reason and she wants to get a job!! What job?!! and that's where I come in. I had a feeling there was more to her wanting us 10 mins down the road than met the eye!! I just don't know what to do, I half hope the house doesn't go through!!! what a dilemma! Jane, I'm fingers crossed for Hannah, I'm sure that an appropriate person can advise her, then at least she would know for certain whats what. Am off to South Molton. That awful earthquake, it's just unbelieveable.

Morning All,

Not so nice here today skies are cloudy but it is still dry which is one good thing I suppose.

Bunnies been out on the front grass this morning and new weapons sights not tuned in yet. I think I have target practice today as OH is fixing up a board with paper targets on it. He had been moaning about his old gun loosing power. I did'nt know the gun was for ME when I bought it.

What has occured to me is that Hannah can't sell her house and others are in the same position all over the country, so why then are they building NEW houses for people to buy!! It is a strange world is'nt it? I suppose they want the new council tax on these houses for the countryand work for men but it all seems a bit out of step to me.

Ann when mum moved in here we had lovely views right down the valley over the big houses grounds and out the back over corn fields way up to a big cedar tree where they used to have a lookout up a long ladder to view the birds of prey. When the present owner bought the big house a little while after he planted 1000's of trees all around us. Now all we can see from the bungalow is walss to one view (ours) and trees in all other directions. We had the one for off view which he said he was'nt planting on, but he did all down the side of his field. I used to look out at a huge lime tree and watch it through the seasons, he planted an evergreen right in my line of sight. One of those with the long needles on it and they grow quite fast too.

Hope all our sick are feeling a bit better today.

Hows the news on the baby front Anne?

Morning all
Snowing here, trying to decide when to go and do the food shopping was to tired last night so gave it a miss.
Put the kettle on and have a cup of coffee, then will see what the weather does.

Sorry Jane your feeling down. hope Hannah has some luck soon.

Welcome to the new Jayne , lots of more memories please, I loved jumping in Puddles when I was little. but didn't like it when I got my face wet, still don't like getting my face wet even in the shower lol.

Anne, your poor DIL, she must be really fed up by now but as long as baby is ok thats the main thing.

The concert was great on Wednesday, it was my first time seeing these Down syndrome kids singing and I felt a bit emotional at first especially when the little children came on but they were great and you could see they really were enjoying performing for there families.
It was so amazing how hard these teachers and careers must have worked to get them to learn their lines and remember them too. the hall was packed and I certainly will be going to see them again next year.

Need that coffee now

Oh Liz you had a feeling as mothers do and you were right. Such a sad thing when a family member so close has a split with a partner. We all feel for you same as we did for poor Michelle, Sheila's daughter. It throws your life into a whirlpool of emotions on all sides.

My prayers are with you for Laura.

Morning Everyone

It is good that we can have a moan and grumble here isn't it.It seems a lot of us have reasons to just now.
Liz I hope Laura can sort things out.It will be all the worry about the business that is causing problems.Do you stay or do you go or what to do !!!!!!!.I still think you have to do what you feel is best for you and Ian.

More snow Fiona!!!None down these parts thank goodness.I'm glad you enjoyed the concert.I bet they put their hearts and souls into it.

Mel I want your gun !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ann will there be meetings about the proposed building? If it goes ahead it may takes years.Nothing seems to happening here with the 5.500 houses .It has all gone very quiet.

David Hannahs ex has nothing ,owes money to loan people etc.Hannah wants nothing from him (not that she would get anything)and nothing to do with him.

The sun has disappeared here.It was lovely just now and it feels really quite mild.Chris is doing surgery and I bet will be in the garden this afternoon.

I hope this baby comes soon.We will have worn out the carpets before too long lol

Fiona, i hate it when the snow goes all slushy ,and then freezes over night , i've been to Morri*ons this morning too, i always go early if i can ,it's a devil to get off the car park if you go later .

We're off to take some old guttering that hubby got from one of his jobs to a friend who works as a helper in a school , this will be the second lot of guttering that the school has had , she said the children have had lots of fun running water and balls down the guttering , so that's one way of recycling it ,and saves hubby taking it to the dump.

Son and DIL are taking the little ones to the library this afternoon ,this will be the first lot of books they will have had from the library , i just hope they are careful with them and don't leave them laying about incase Katie gets her hands on them , she's liable to tear them !!!

Afternoon All,

Mel where I lived before, they built houses on some fields we looked out over but they were much further away so it didn't affect us so much. These are so close with the required 'social housing' there has to be these days nearest to us. I can just imagine late party noise and trouble. No children live in this close so it is pretty quiet and peaceful. We live in one of the last 4 bungalows built at the bottom all priced differently according to outlook. I could have lived with similar bungalows or larger houses with bigger gardens to put a bit of space between us. Also when they monitored pollution levels here a few years ago it was found to be borderline (M1 and M69 nearby + main road). Since then they have built a park and ride and this will be the 2nd housing development on the same stretch of road.!! Still, I suppose we are luckier than the chap on the edge of the village next to allotments. They were turned into a travellers site one weekend that ran the length of his garden and across the back of it. He ended up moving out but I haven't seen any sale sign.......don't suppose he would get many offers would he.

Jane I think it will go through very quickly as it will only affect those of us in this close and and a chap who lives in a bungalow on the main road. He will have houses the full length of his 200ft garden. There are only 2 fields between us and the city now. As OH said, 'where is a Great Crested Newt when you want one'!!!! lol I will stop moaning about it now, far worse things can happen .....good to get it off my chest though.

Sorry to hear that about Laura, Liz. Can see why she made such a fuss, obviously quite stressed. Hope they can sort things out and yes I still think you should do what you want.

The papers are full of it aren't they Fiona. I don't know how they can do it, something to do with gang culture and rites of passage. The little down's syndrome children that come in our library are always so excited and happy.....lovely to watch. It's hard to imagine you have snow.....the sun is out here but it is a bit windy. Are your daffodils out yet like they are down here?

Mel, be careful with that gun..........I would be walking down your drive with my hands up!!! lol

Mandy, little Katie would have a field day with those books given half a chance. I often see mums prising little fingers off the book pages in the doctor's........not always in time though!!

Liz tell me about it broken marriages and problems.I had Michelle in floods of tears today because I said snap out it and stop feeling sorry for yourself. My daughter say her life is over. I wish you a good outcome.
Life is so sad sometimes .
Jane a good idea to go out and treat yourself to a nice top better than sitting in worrying all the while you will end up like me

Mel hope your ok nice of you to think of Michelle she was taken aback by the kind messages certain people sent.
I do hope Hannah enjoyed her birthday Jane

Frank I am watching the footy match man u and arsenal hope man u win I expect your a arsenal fan so is my son. boo hoo.But if Birmingham can beat them say no more. I bet man u loose now I have said that. just my luck
Ive had a lovely morning with my friend Annie just back from the artic and she had some good stories to tell and we chatted about art and the earthquake and its effect on things having to move people out because of the shake up with the atomic weapons.
Fiona glad you enjoyed the concert.

Please little baby be born soon!!!!
Shirl andf Fiona snow oh thank goodness we have none that would really finish me off.
I guess your are having lots of bunnie stews Mel I loved that years ago even to pick the bones could not do it now. Aprils got a bunnie.
Why are gypies so dirty I saw a place where they had camped today small
ponies close to the road horse droppings everywhere and so much iron and rubbish left it should not be allowed.

Well going off thinking of Japan Frank enjoy the football
Have a nice week end Mel and everyone.

Afternoon All

Gosh everyone seems to be having a terrible time at the moment. I hope tomorrow brings better news. Family problems are so horrendous and I can remember when our son left his first partner, it was devastating at the time but did work out for the best in the end.
On the housing front, when we moved here over20 years ago we backed onto open fields but a new estate was built about 10 years ago and now we cannot see as much of the countryside around us.I now have to stand on the upstairs landing to see the hills.
Everything quiet on the baby front today but DIL has to go to drop in clinic tomorrow to have BP checked again. Have told her that she cannot go into labour tonight as we are off to Bradford to see the ballet.
Mel I am pleased that you only intend shooting the rabbits.
