My puter is playing up too. Taken ages to get on line tonight.

Well we had a power cut just after I posted last night......not even main road lights......pitch black it was with burglar alarms jangling....first job,made sure it wasn't ours! OH was at footie so I had to grope my way to the porch cupboard for the torch. Too much hassle to boil water on the cooker for a drink so I made do with the glass of water I usually take, grabbed scented candle and went to bed. I rang OH to warn him it might still be off when he got home. A while later it was still off so I texted him to use the torch in his car boot as I had the other with me. Did he read the text......no! It took him ages to get from the front door to the bedroom.....I kept hearing bumps on the way. lol

Frank, that's just where my seed potatoes are, all sitting in the old egg boxes I use.

Got my hair trimmed today and my hairdresser was wearing a black chiffon long sleeved blouse with a grey finely pleated gymslip type of thing over it with a black belt at the waist, but it was gathered in just below the knicker line onto a deep band as the hem. It actually looked quite good (she's very slim) with black lacey tights and the highest heels!! Ouch....all that standing!

The last bit of OH's birthday present arrived today, just in time for tomorrow......a book, Dickens by Peter Akroyd, 1195 pages.....that should keep him quiet for a while.

Well I can wish Hannah a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY now.......hope she likes the clothes you got her Jane.

Morning All,

A bit of sunshine but plenty of black cloud and wind here. Shirl, it sounds a bit grim with all that cold and snow with rain to follow where you are. I would be fed up too.

OH has a good start to his birthday.....a filling at the dentist! lol Don't know what he will want to do afterwards yet.

We got some pale blue paint for the bathroom yesterday, a change from the magnolia. Just half of 2 walls are painted so it isn't a big job. The ceiling looks great now, all freshened up. I want to put a couple of pictures in there then, maybe some of those pebble photos I took. lol

Better get showered now, his lordship will be back from the dentist soon.

Another bright and sunny morning here, and quite windy .

Off to Norwich later with hubby as he has to order some new windows ,so we are going to call in at As*a and do some shopping , not hubby's favourite thing ,shopping !!!!

Morning all,

Very windy here today and not very bright at the moment but still sry.

We had a bunny and her baby in the back garden bit this morning. We shall be overun soon!! I told you I saw one nesting the other week so I expect she has had her kittens by now.

OOOO suns just appeared, perhaps it's going to be another sunny day afterall.

Hope Jane's car gets through alright, should do as it's only a young one.

Thanks for Birthday wishes to Hannah.She will have her presents tomorrow evening when she comes home.She didn't really fancy opening things at 6am and then dashing off.
My car is in the garage now.I was horrified when they told me the cost of the service.£293.It will cover anything and labour.I think that seems an awful lot for a first service,as I shouldn't imagine much will need to be done.

It is very windy here with clouds racing across the sky and patches of blue in between.

Poor Shirl and all her snow.It can't be much fun now.

Don't mention ******** rabbits Mel lol.Chester has never ever caught one.He chases them ,and then when they veer off he just keeps running straight on!
He's as daft as a brush.

Time now for a coffee,and then I will borrow Chris's car to go and get the paper and some potatoes.He is off to a meeting at midday and will then be back to take me to pick my car up at 5 o'clock.

Hi All

Happy birthday to Hannah and Ann's hubby.
Interesting to discover that people having trouble with their computers as ours refused to connect again last night. Rang this morning and radio link needed resetting. Sounds as though BT up to something.
Please dont talk about stillborn babies; you are giving me the heebie geebies ( or I am being too sensitive )
Waiting for telephone call re midwifes visit. I wish I was down there witrh them and think I will try to persuade hubby to go down tomorrow. At least then I can see just what is happening and will give DIL's mum a break!!
Weather here is bright, windy and showery but thankfully its only rain. There is snow further up the dale but it has not come down this far.
Sorry if I am boring you with baby situation but it feels better just sharing.

Not boring Anne, as we are all on tenderhooks. We always are when there's a baby on the way as if it is to do with all of us.

Off up the library for the first time since mum died. It comes now on a thursday instead of Friday andI keep forgetting!!

I mis the talking books in the background when doing lunch or ironing so thought I may have a go myself. Trouble is I have lost my card and I shall have to pay for them.

Happy birthday to Hannah and Gordon, hope you enjoy your day. It's Conrads partners B'day today also, She is coming down to us and Ros and Jan. are going to see a girls movie (Whatever that is) Conrad is busy with work, so won't come down. I will be on my own again, piece again, with no tele.

I went down and dug a bit more this morning, but as soon as my back started I packed up. Will try a bit more tomorrow.

We have a police community street briefing at the end of the close at 2.30pm. I might get changed and see what its about. But no doubt to same as every other time, WHAT WE SHOULD DO. when we see anything suspicious in the area.

That seems very high for a first service Jane, What are they changing the ENGINE/ GEARBOX.?????

Anne, trust alls going well on the baby front.

Son rang 12noon to say on way to Watford general as DIL blood pressure "sky high" so plaese pack bags.
Rang a few minutes ago to say that it has come back down again but hospital have taken bloods and awaiting results.
He then admits that workmen in house doing the kitchen worktops and all cupboards have had to be emptied. I simply cannot understand what these children use for brains. No wonder girls blood pressure is up. Just wait until I see them!!! I thought her mother was with them but she has gone home. Don't they reolise just what they put parents through.

Sorry forgot the time again. Too busy having a rant.

Anne I think you need to be there reading the riot act !.Was it your DIL who had to empty the cupboards??? Silly girl.I hope the hospital decide to get her in .That way she will HAVE to rest.

Jane I do not know who emptied the cupboards and yes I think I should be there. Will go down tomorrow and see for myself unless we are needed this evening. I do hope she is kept in hospital as i think its the only way she will do as she is told.

Frank,I think all that was found on my car was a nail in a tyre !!
I assume they have done the usual things for a service .I will ask why it seems so expensive when I go to pick it up.
It is so windy.Too windy to be in the garden really.
I have the slow cooker on and oh my goodness it is smelling good.It is making my tummy rumble lol

Blowing a gale outside. The wind is getting in the conservatory somewhere beacuse there is a very high pitched whistle coming in. I been outside to look for any gapes in the roof, but all is sound. Trying to rain as well now.

Anne, as you say, what a time to have builders in doing jobs, It's peace she needs, not upheaval. No wonder her BP is high. Mine qwould be will all that going on, and I'm not having a Baby, I hope !!!!! Just a beer belly !!!!lol. You can rant all you like, Uncle Frank is always here to listen. You just go ahead.

Did Jane manage to get the 2nd Mortgage to pay for the Service ???? I think I would be looking for a cheaper garage. What's their hourly rate Jane ????I would imagine £60.00. !!!!
