Morning Jane Frank and all,
Lovely morning again here with plenty of the yellow stuff, no not scrambled egg but sunshine.
Mum used to like that dried egg, she said it was'nt bad .
What do you think your bought cakes are made with?? They must use powdered egg surely as can you imagine how many eggs baking companies would use otherwise??
Have had a reply to a question asked on Ancestry in 2006!!!!! Hows that for a late reply and it did'nt even help really. This person also has my 3 X gt gran dying at the age of 40 whereas she remarried and had another child in 1881 by her second husband. My prob. is I can't find her death!! She is on the 1891 with William Mills and a child from her first marriage and dau Edith born 1881 then on the 1901 William is a widower with dau Edith aged 20. She must have died between 1891 and 1901 in Essex but I can't find it for the life of me.
Have been doing it all morning! why is it I can find other peoples things and not my own?????????????

Morning all
A glorious morning cold but bright sunshine. Hubby working in garden and I have dusted and done lots of ironing. Mel I guess you must be right about dried egg. Another reason for only eating home made cakes!! Still no baby. DIL sent text to say feeling ok after sleeping for over 12hours. Midwife tomorrow so we will wait. Off to make lunch. 11.54

When I was young and asked mum what was for dinner she would say Bread and Pullit. she got the expresion from her mum who said it to her!!
My nan on mums side of the family used to cook the same meals each week on the same days, so I was told by mum so she must have been very small when it was said to her as she could remember what they had from sunday to Mondays which was always cold meat because it was washday.
Mum used to cook a lovely bacon roll and I have'nt made one for years now!

Mel Baby due anytime now. Due date is not till 27th but mum is not going to full term ( or so consultant informed her) all depends on her blood pressure. Poor girl is enormous. She is normally a size 10 on a bad day so is carrying the baby all at the front. Says she has not seen her feet for weeks.Physically she is not very strong and spends a lot of time asleep normally so being so very pregnant is just making her even more exhausted. I cannot remember being as tired carrying son but I was confined to bed for the last few weeks with my back. It was so boring as I was in hospital and not allowed to do anything at all. I remember hubby bringing the dog to visit and I was allowed to get up and watch him from the window, but only for a few moments.
I can remember my grandma cooking the same things each week so maybe it was just the way things were then. Off to visit MIL as not seen since our return from hols

It is peeing down here and we have just had some hail.I have the lights on as it is so dark.
When my sister doesn't know what to have for a meal she says" Oh We will just have 'IFFITS'.If it's in the fridge or cupboard we'll have it "lol
Mel I don't think Anne's Grandbaby is due quite yet,but thought DIL might have had to go in early. It is always exciting waiting for new babies here isn't it.
Off to get the duster out now......................13.56

Hi everyone. It's really cold here we had 2 snow showers this morning but they didn't lie. met up with friends for coffee, then went into Mar*s & Sp*ncers the place was heaving with woman looking at sales racks, all blouses and T.shirts down to £5, got 3 shirts & a couple of T.shirts also collected OH shirt for work which I had ordered on line.
Going to the local town Hall tomorrow night to see a concert performed by a local group of Down syndrome children & adults. I have a friend from church who's son Daniel he is 25, he is singing a couple of the solo's , I have known Daniel since he was 6 years old and he is very much loved by everyone that attends our church.
Keeping fingers crossed for your DIL Anne, she really must be very tired by now. No musical minis this afternoon, lady who runs the group must have something else on, will be back on next week, daughter not comming down so I won't get to see Sofia today.
need to do some ironing. BBL

Jane, the accident was between Caldicote and Rockingham. That straight bit of Road.
Anne, sounds like your DIL is having a little boy. If she's carrying at the front. !!!!
Funny ol' day. Rain, shine, rain again. Very cloudy at the moment.
The kitchen worktop has been a potting shed all day. Ros has bought a load of "PLUGS" and transfered them into little pots in trays. The table in the conseratory is full, as is the greenhouse. They cost next to nothing, compared to what you will pay in a few weeks time in garden centres, They will come on in the own time, ready to be planted out as and when weather permits.
Put off digging again today. May be tomorrow. who knows !!!!

Frank it must have been a different accident. Also I think it was on Monday. My kitchen window sill will be full of pots ans seeds .Chris has put one of these mini propergator(sp) things .I hate things like that on my window sills, but hopefully it won't be for long. It feels really chilly out there again now,and I have just turned the heating up. My car is going in for its first service tomorrow.Fingers crossed it will be fine.It is filthy, but I'm sure they have seen worse lol.
Dinner tonight will be Chunky Haddock in crumb, new potatoes, asparagus, broccoli and baby carrots.

The questions on the census form are clever in their way. Where do you work?until when?how much? are you getting a pension?since when?
All the answers will be checked with the relevent bodies.Any inaccuracies will be examined very carefully.
Even question 17 is cute.It tells you to ignore it and move to question 18. Is that to see if the form filler can read?

Jane, My little brother was still born about 1957 I think. but unfortunatly his death was never recorded,
Do you know where the birth of the baby might have took took place.
Have you a place & date of the Death of the mother.
For a research of the still born registers at Edinburgh New Registrar House, as the event happened in Prestwick I had to get permission and a signed letter from my dad, before they would do anything. something to do with being next of kin.

I'm sorry you lost a little Brother Fiona. That must have been so hard for your parents.I bet they didn't get the help in those days for having a still born baby like today. I now a couple of people who have had stillborn babies, and can't possibly imagine the pain and anguish that they went through.
My pooter has the hiccoughs again tonight .I t must be something to do with broadband or something. But it is so annoying !.I think I better say night Night now before it shuts off again. Up early to get my car in for the service ,so will check in once that job is done.
