I did the pan cakes at lunch time, only I left the flour out,so I guess they were scrambled eggs.
Anyway,they went down well.

Fiona, mines about the same age as yours and it works ok.
The software I was on about teaches the PC voice recognition and instead of using the key board you talk to it and it types allegedly 3 times faster than you could type.
It also formats for you on command and files your stuff away.
Compresses your files to 400th origional size allowing more on your drive.

My sisters dogs always loved their cups of tea, plus anything they could steal lol
My Nana used to give Bella(cat) a little bit of all bran and milk every morning when she had hers.

David that mixture must have looked a bit strange without the flour.Mind you there's nothing wrong with a nice bit of scrambled eggs lol.I love them especially with some Pancetta .The only thing with scrambled is they always stick in the saucepan,so I tend to do them in the microwave these days.

I hope Sheila has been behaving today and not hiding anymore mattresses !!!!!

Shirl I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday with the family.

We are just having Pasta and sauce tonight and maybe garlic bread.I think I will give the bread a miss .

So no baby news yet then Anne.I bet everyone is on tenderhooks.I hope your DIL is not suffering with the pre eclampsia.

Jane I am a nervous wreck I can tell you. Poor girl was in hospital for 8 days after the birth of the last one.
She developed a syndrome( I cannot remember the name but think it begins with a B) and her liver didn't work properly so she turned yellow. We thought that they had decided not to have any more children but the consultant said that there is very little chance of it happening again.
I have to say that she has been well looked after seeing the consultant several times during the pregnancy and her midwife is very thorough.
Hopefully all will turn out ok. Meanwhile we wait

I did scrambled egg in a hot frying pan using butter.Just keep it moving.

I can fry an egg, boil an egg, poach an egg, sramble an egg or suck an egg.

And I believe I can blow one.

I remember Dad blowing a Seagulls egg once.
Just spoke to my sister. She said they have had an offer accepted on a house in Tewkesbury. She then burst into tears!!.She has never lived in a town before and has got herself all worked up into a tiz.It looks lovely, but a small garden ,and they have 3 dogs. But I am sure it will be fine.Lots of character ,just very different from what she has always been used to.She made me cry when I heard her cry lol.She will only be minutes away from her daughter and Grandchildren .It will be different ,but as she said ,no turning back now.

Ah ha David but would it cope with a geordie accent (if you have one)?? lol We had some computers when I worked that did that, but let's just say they didn't always type what you thought you'd said!!! Mind you I am talking over 10 years ago, so they are probably a lot better now. They were used by people that couldn't use a keyboard.

My previous computer would read back to you what you'd typed if you wanted it to. You could choose between about 6 voices. I don't think my present one will. I imagine that could be very useful to a writer or someone who did speeches or presentations.

No pancakes here tonight! OH was gone by 5 o'clock to pick a pal up to go to a match at Studeley. He might get some on his birthday on Thursday if he's lucky. He asked me which way I went to Studeley as I was in a driving competition that was held at the Rov*r HQ there. He should know better, really he should, expecting me to remember a journey I did 17 years ago!!!. lol

I like scrambled eggs too, but I do mine in the microwave like Jane now, in a pyr*x jug....easier to wash up.

In the old days when I was a boy my Mother used to send me to Loweries or was it Lowery's egg factory for a dozen broken eggs.

Apparently they were sold cheaper cracked.

Same when biscuits were sold out of tins.Broken biscuits were far cheaper.More profitable than throwing them out.

Ann your OH and Hannah birthday on the same day.Hannah for the first time ever won't be here for hers. She is spending the night in London and going out with some friends for a meal.I don't blame her .London has to be just a bit more exciting than Kettering lol

Have dinner and Pancakes, full up to bursting.

We have a chicken farm in Towcester, where you can buy trays of miss sized eggs, But 24 is far to many for Ros and I. So we tent to get the Barn Eggs from Tesco and the odd half dozen from the girl down the road.

Ann your OH is a glutton for punishment, with all these football matches. The best I can do these days is in front of the Tele.

During and just after the war my sister in laws Mothe,r worked in a biscuit factory, we would visit on a regular basis, and she always had a tin of broken biscuits. We were in heaven. You couldn't go and buy them over the counter in a shop. and got even worse when rationing came in.

As for blowing eggs, As a boy I had draws full of birds eggs, each one collect by me and blown, The larger ones you could use a thorn from the hedgerow, the smaller ones had to use a neddle or pin.

Can anyone remember dried eggs? My grandmother used to use them quite a lot when baking. I wonder if you can still get them. I buy my eggs from the local greengrocer and they are super.Occasionally get a tray of cracked eggs from a friend and then have a bake in.
Half watching the footie before bed.

Gosh David if you forgot to put the flour in your pancakes I hope you did'nt put lemon and sugar on them!!!!! Yuk can you imagine scrambled eggs with lemon and sugar?

I have been out in the garden this afternoon. Have cleared the old runner beans off the canes as I had'nt done it before. Had a bonfire and the sheets dried on the line today. No cold wind and a beautifull warm day. Still have no heating on now!!

Young banties have been laying an egg now and then.

Wondering whether to have my hair cut before the holiday!! that will be a first for over 20 years!!!!!!!

Fancy it being gordon and Hannah's birthday on the same day. Nearly as strange as Shirl living in Melanie Ave. Don't you find that things happen like that though. When I lived in Suffolk my son made friends with the boy next door, Rolly, his birthday was the same day as mine and when it came round to my sons birthday it was the same day as Rolly's mum!!

Going now so will say night night all, sweet dreams.

We only ever have lemon and sugar on our pancakes, it's the best I think.

Ann, The dreaded Dried Egg. I remember my Sister in law coming to stay during the war, home from the WRAF on leave. She decided to make us kids scrambled eggs with dried egg powder. When we cut into it there were lumps of egg powder where she hadn't mixed it properly.. It put me off, and I have never eaten scrambled egg since.
