Oh no Mandy, we've been to look at it, we wouldn't consider buying somewhere without doing that!! I always feel like this even if I'm going on holiday!! full of doubts and worry, I'm just that sort of person!!! Anywhere we go I would feel the same, for one reason or another! so I just have to bite the bullet and go for it!! Have got problems with BT!! when we changed our Moden (?) BT in their wisdom, unbeknown to us changed our Broadband package! We got a bill on Saturday for over £100 more than it should be! are now waiting for a guy to ring to tell us how to reinstate our OLD package. Meantime we are paying Land line rates, so can only get it cheaply after 7pm, SO, see you then!!!

Still in dressing gowm. Been busy in the kitchen.Made a nice Chicken and Mushroon pie, in a thick sauce Just waiting for the puff pastry to thaw out, then I can cover and give it an egg wash.

Have got out a big piece of brasing steak for tomorrow. What we call Beef and Onion Roll. Suet pudding rolled out, put on, meat, onion, potato, anything that takes your fancy. Sprinkle with Bis#o and oxo. Roll in greeseproof paper then in tea towel, tie off the ends and steam for a few hours, keep water topped up. Comes out nice and moist and full of flavour. Nice with fresh veg, no potato needed.

Neighbours have gone off on a coach trip for 5 days. Ros has just taken them to the bus station, don't know where they are going. Ros, will tell me later no doubt.

I saw yesterday the number of people cutting their lawns, Hope that frost hasn't done any damage. !!!! I think I will leave mine another week or so.

Mandy, I agree with you.about Liz. Tell the OH to keep his legs crossed and think of ENGLAND.
Liz you must just take the plunge, I'm sure it will be fine, and a lot easier on both you and Ian.

I am now in doubt about the French trip. She is worried I won't be able to cope on my own. and frightened if I have a fall, who will be around to look after me. She does care really !!!!!

Hope you have a nice day whatever you are doing.

We have been for a nice walk along one of the old mineral wagon routes this morning. Rails have been taken up and it's a nice walkway now with trees each side. OH's boot are nicely run in now. lol

Shopping's all done and put away, so back to a bit of painting for OH and me hoovering my car out I think now I have done all the dusting. Yesterday I put some onion sets in and planted a few early peas in my piece of gutter. A bit of sunshine seems to have got me going. Hope it lasts!! lol

Of course she does Frank!!

Glad your OH is a bit better Mandy, tummy bugs can leave you a bit wishy washy and wobbly.

Well what a lovely day again here. I have been reading the threads and your replies to mine. I had a little set back today. The doctor decided to call while I was doing some drawer cleaning out in my bedroom.Ho shouted the doctors on the way up the stairs. I dived for the bed being told by him to stay in it and hit my big toe on the computor stand and jumped in bed on top of the computor mouse. In walked the doctor and I was in agony the computor mouse buried itself in my rear and my toe was burning.

Doctor good said morning Mrs O you look very calm and peaceful thats what I like to see he said. I just wanted him to go. He stayed about 10 minutes and by now I was numb. except for the toe which really hurt.
Can you amagine had I mooned today with a computor mouse firmly indented on my rear. lol xxx

Maureen I shall always check now to make sure my clothes are firmly in the place they should be.
Amanda I hope you do not get anymore illnesses it sounds like you had a bad time. My rear area was not a pretty site and I am surprised I got to where I did without a few screams of horror. Why do they have men in the hospital wards. I am pleased that our hospital is about to change that.

All the best to Margeret and Ann.thank you for your concern.

Shirl HAPPY BIRTHDAY is it today I am having trouble getting on the right page. anyway hope you had or have a lovely day my little fruit cake.

Amanda I am past laughing at Donnie Wonnie and old Beryl.
However today they were here about 10.30pm chatting away about love and romance and such. When the taxi arrived I did really really laugh. The taxi man said to Donnie want to sit in the front seat with me mate it will leave more room for your mother in the back seat. I waited for Beryls explosion .Beryl said thats my husband you dip stick. The poor taxi driver said oh sorry mate you had better go in the back with the old and changed his mind whatever he was going to say .I bet that taxi journey was not very calm.
I have discovered a relative found on genes sometime ago who was a witch. This lady in 1974 owned a cafe in the lake district called The Witches Brew and she served tea and put odd things in it. Like Yarrow
juniper and Mugwort Catnip and thisle Cilentro and cornstarch Solomans sese bark ,star cunise vervain and more .Just a little each time she served customers to tea and they after a time became ill and nobody knew it was my great aunt Sally .This lady wore dark clothes and her hair was so tangled when they took her to hospital before she died they had to cut her long long hair off to sort out the tangles. It seems she was to go to prison for what she did but died before . The women left thousands of pounds in a chest under her bed. I have a picture she looks a really sweet old soul apart from her dress and hair. The cafe was demolished because her living area was so run down the brick work was
falling. They buried aunt Sally and on her grave stone it had witch. i think it is very grown over and I would love to go and find it. I find it eerie. Most of my relatives are so boring they had very ordinary lives.

All the cooking makes my mouth water you do some of you.
Franks sounds dishy .

David that was sweet about valium being addictive and a hug is better.
I do agree.I sometimes feel I could do with one. My ho would rather hug a
bottle of beer or wine for his business. I keep hoping he will retire.

well had better go dog number one just peed up my bed would you believe it.No walkies now. well not far, Where are all these friends and relatives when you need them. Bye sorry it is so long Niggly how is Ian
my brother had a problem last week he could not go to the toilet poor chap.

Do you think you need to go back to the cottage Liz and have another look just to be sure its for you .
Try to look pass their furniture and imagine yours in there , they do say you should lay on the floor and look at the ceiling ,then you really see the floor space you've got .

A*L over charged us the other month ,they took over £40 instead of £20 for the internet ,sent us a cheque back as we are now with s*y ,i only noticed when the bank statement came .

You've been busy this morning Chef Frank !! that Chicken and Mushroom pies sounds good .
Hubby seems better ,we went and filled the car up with petrol ,soon need to take out a mortgage to fill up !!!!!

Last week BIL filled his car up at Te*co's ,he had just got up onto the bypass and it started to run funny so he stopped ,then it wouldn't start again ,had the garage out to tow him to the garage ,when they looked at it it was a sensor that had gone and the petrol was all gunky , rang Te*co's and they said two other people had complained too!!! so he's now waiting to hear what T*sco's are going to do about it .
When we got our petrol today i noticed that the pump he went to was closed , asked the lady on the till and she said they'd had trouble with one of their tanks !!!

Ann, your peas ! are they just planted in a piece of normal guttering ?

Have you thought any more about getting the Spa Ann ? now's the time to start to looking at them to get a good price , carn't wait to relax in ours again LOL

Have been in the garden since I last posted. Started on the area that the chickens had. Dug about half of it. Don't want to overdo it, my backs aching now. Will try to do the rest tomorrow.

I am thinking of putting broad beans near the fence, it gets loads of sunshine, a few rows of potato's, I couldn't believe the number of worms in the ground, I bets it's from the chicken muck. The birds will have a hay day down there this afternoon.

Well I'm absolutely kna##ered now! After hoovering the car and contorting myself all over the place to reach the back (2 door) I decided to use some leather cleaner on the seats as they were very dull. Neck and shoulders ache as well now so I'm having a cuppa before I do the leeks for tea!! Easy peasy Haddock Mornay for tea with the last of our leeks and some carrots and peas and new pots.

Mandy I plant the peas in a piece gutter to get them started in the greenhouse. I sellotape card at each end to stop the soil falling out. When they are a few inches tall I make a gutter sized channel in the raised box and slide the soil with the peas in into the channel. If I plant the seeds straight outside the mice eat them!! lol It was an idea I saw on a gardening programme.

I'm still sorting the patio out at the moment so I don't think we would get a spa this year, much as I love the idea! I shall be envious again when it gets boiling hot. I just can't decide what kind of slabs to have as there seem drawbacks with them all, either too small, too rough, wrong colour, will stain too easily!! lol OH is getting fed up with me as he wants to get cracking. Black slate would be ideal, but I think it would make the area look too small and a bit drab in the winter. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I have some jeans that need shortening to do later so I better get the sewing machine out ready. I bet OH appears with a hole in a pocket to fix or a split seam for me to sew. lol

Very wise to do the other digging tomorrow Frank. We all tend to overdo it a bit at the start of the year. I bet you will grow some good stuff where the chickens were.

Everyone seems so busy in their gardens whilst ours looks rather neglected but hopefully we will get something done soon. Glorious weather all the way between Herts and Yorks and not a cloud in the sky. An ideal day for a drive ( it cost overr £50 to fill tank ugh and that was at Tesco) Petrol on M1 over 1-40 a litre!!!
Must go now and have a shower

I bet you can't wait now.It won't be long.

Sheila ,what are you like lol getting a mouse stuck to your backside lol.Behave yourself !!

Frank,I can understand Ros being worried about you going to France (on your own).We all know how accident prone you are ,and would no doubt be on the edge of our seats here until you came home safely .I'll volunteer to go with you and keep you in order lol

You little hussy Jane, offering to go on holiday with a married man,!!!!! What are you like.

On the way home last night we saw a terrible accident, on a straight bit of road near Rockingham Castle. The sun was getting low in the sky almost blinding you. A motor bike decided to overtake, and plowed into the side of a car coming the other way. He came off at about 70 mph. and went about 60 yards down the road, without his bike. As we passed people had stopped and were trying to attend to him. Debris all over the road. I don't think he had much luke of coming out of that. Was there anything in your paper this evening Jane.

Better to have the mouse stuck to your bum and not up it, We would have had to send in the JACK RUSSEL !!!!

Hows Liz this evening?? still pondering i suppose.

Mel, Ros wouldn't like to go to France, We don't have transport, and she wouldn't drive on the otherside anyway. We would be confined to the local area, She's not a sun person anyway.

Frank is too big a job for one Jane, so I'd better come too......France is very nice. lol That's a much better appointment, next Tuesday. The sooner you know what the problem is the better and good that Chris can go with you as I can't imagine they could check your eyes properly without those drops.

Maureen, it sounds like you are making mud pies in the kitchen. lol I always seem to make mess with compost, get it all over the path.

Mel, I never sleep well in a strange bed the first night. I bet you soon get used to it though. It must be like sleeping in a different place with all the changes you've made.

My back and knees are already aching and twanging now so I think it will be an early night for me and a hot water bottle across my back. If I sit for long I can hardly walk when I stand up.......poor old thing!! OH isn't a lot better, all that bending and reaching over the bath with the paintbrush. Goodness knows what we'll be like in the morning.

MIL was telling us yesterday that their neighbour's camper was stolen last week. It is one of those small volk*wagon ones from the 60s/70s that the roof concertinas up on. Apparently someone stole it from off their front drive in the evening while they were at home!!! What a nerve some folk have. They must drive around planning what they will pinch. The police think they may have pushed it down the road before starting it.
