I'm a bit warm now and have had to turn the thermostat down.Not that I am complaining you realise lolol
I remember when we first had central heating put in when I was about 11.It was so exciting.That cats used to sleep on the top of the boiler in the kitchen.

That was interesting Jane......caught redhanded as they used to say! I bet your neck was chilly today after your trip to the hairdresser. That sounds a big job, having a new boiler fitted. Hope it sorts out the problem. I can just picture Chester welcoming the gasman!!! lol

Mel, I can just imagine being offered some of that Vodka with the strawberries floating around. Hard to say no though. lol

The garage cleaned my car the other day when it was in.......but the INSIDE has a filthy floor with mud and gravel on it.......I was hoping they would hoover the inside too......but no, I will have to do it!!

Ann I just had a new pump fitted in the airing cupboard (not a new boiler).We had that done 5 years ago.I can't face all that again lol

My sister has a buyer for her house.£500 more than the asking price.Brilliant!.
Trouble is they haven't found anywhere to buy yet.I have offered a tent lol.Plus her OH is still trying to find a job.Life is so complicated sometimes isn't it.

You put boiler at 16.47 Jane. lol I thought it was the pump till I read that....thought it had turned out more serious!!! lol Glad it's fixed anyway, it's going too cold again to not have heating. That's good news for your sister on her house......tricky though, sometimes where the new job will be helps determine where the new house needs to be.

Mel, I bet your crumble gets eaten anyway, a crumble has to be really bad not to be edible once the custard is on. lol Well for me anyway.

Our doorstrips are back in place again now..........no cycling shorts today though, too cold anyway and he came in his van.

I found a sad thing on my tree today with a distant rellie who was in the army, . His wife had twins, followed by another child 13 months later, then she died 4 months after that. We are so used to families losing the father in war times, yet this was the other way round.

Early start for us in the morning, a trip into the city first thing, so we'll be stuck in lots of traffic.

No Mandy today either...... I expect she is resting whenever she can.

I watched a program late last night on Arthur Haynes, the comedian, do you remember him on the telly years ago. He worked with Nicholas Parsons? They had some of his sketches on there too. So funny to see him again. He could'nt keep a straight face for the life of him.

Been sorting out and labeling some of my family folders. and another tidy up getting rid of all the lose papers that end up on the desk.
still waiting for my new computer, OH has had no e-mails from Me*h to say when it's arriving. It better be in top condition they have taken long enough to assemble it.

Over my sickness Frank, apart from a sore nose as it keeps running now, I have no more headaches or light headed feelings.

Hope Mandy & Sheila are feeling better today.

Still bright and sunny but bloomin cold out there. My Robin came to me first thing and I only went out with a scoop full of wild bird seed so I put a little in my left hand and he came to me and picked out all the sunflower kernels out the seed.

Freezing earlier but sunny and cold now.

Well I had a right titter this morning. OH got up early and put the washing out. He said it took him ages and he was frozen. I looked out of the window and was puzzled how all those black socks had ended up in the whites!! I mentioned it to him while we were out and he said the socks were in a seperate load he had pegged out from the washing machine. Trouble is I hadn't actually washed them yet. He had pegged out unwashed clothes that were dry.!!! lol

Better spot paint the filled bits in the bathroom now........

Ann I nearly choked on my coffee then lol .Did it not occur to him that the socks were DRY????
Well I got some lovely things for Hannah.A skirt,dress and 3 tops.I think they should look fine.

The sun is shining and all the midges have come out.There is a massive group of them further down the garden.But it is cold.

Must make a start on some ironing now.

Did we hear from Mandy yesterday?I don't think we did or today.I hope all is well.I hope Sheila is resting up and relaxing,or pottering and enjoying the sunshine.

Ann I too chocked when I read that about the socks. Men try to tell us that they are more intelligent (sp) than us women but I don't think so some how sometimes!

At lunch just after we had finished we ooked out the window and the sparrowhawk was perched on the top of the bird feeder. Bloomin cheek, OH opened the window and frightened it away.

I caught a baby bunny in the rabbit trap today, must be about 10 weeks old.

Hi Everyone, Back again! Well the good news is that we have sold our house!!! A lot less than we had hoped for, they are the original people who put in the very low offer. Well.they've upted it, and although it is still far below what we were hoping for we have gone for it. They know all about the boundary problem or lack of and aren't worried by it which is bonus! However, the bad news is that we have found a property about 6 miles out of Gloucester, which although is much smaller than here has everything we need pony and work wise. The snag is that it is 1.1/2 hrs from Wantage!! (54 miles) told Laura this am and she nearly had a fit!! far to far from them, what if we were ill? etc etc! She wants us about 30 mins maximum!! well, to find what we want for the money we have, somewhere round her is going to be well nie impossible; I'm glad that she is so concerned for us, but quite honestly we are not in our dotage yet, and we would be surrounded by other properties, 7 miles from the hospital (in case) and a nice new area to explore! Our son takes a very different attitude, and feels that we should be free to live where we want to live within reason. He says go for it and Laura will have to come round, or not!! I don't want to fall out with her, on the other hand we don't want to land up somewhere we hate for the sake of being down the road. What do you Guys think. A dilemma or what!! Apart from that we are OK, and enjoying a lovely day. My back is much better and Ian doing great.

Good to hear from you Liz and to know the backs a bit better and Ian is doing fine.

I think you should go with your own choice of where to live after all you are buying it and not your daughter!! You have your own lives to lead and she has hers and 1 and a half hours is'nt much these days.

How far away are you from her now?? I bet it is more than 1 1/2 hours.
