Morning All
It is dark and still very windy.I nearly took off just now down the lane lol
Off to M Harborough now.I think I will have to hang on to that steering wheel when I'm on the A14.There are certain places where gusts of wind are incredibly strong.
See you later.Fingers crossed for Ian today.

Morning All,

Yes fingers crossed for our Ian toady. He will feel much better when that thing is out at last!!

Not quite so windy here but still dull and dreary. I have to go shopping today and do some bits in town (Bideford).

Hope everything goes well with the boiler Jane and keeping fingers crossed for Hannah with the house.

10.20am

Morning all, from a bin littered street. The Binmen came early and the empty bins are all over the place. Lids from the boxes are like Flying saucers, they (the owners) will never find them when they get home from work tonight. Council will be getting loads of calls for replacements "MORE EXPENCE"

Did you see that Jason Gardener last night, what a horrible little insignifficant Bars### is, If I had be spoken to like thet I would have thumped him.

Trust Ian is free from his attachment !!!! He will be a different person.

Morning all
It has been very wet here , no wind and we actually had some snow falling for about 20 mins but the ground is so wet it didn't lie. as I look out of the window now the rain has stopped too.
Nothing planned for today, just house hold chores.
Hope Liz & Ian arrive home and all is ok.

Annx Report 7 Feb 2011 13:26

Morning All,

Very windy here too and more bits keep flying off the cordylines!!

Yes, let's hope Ian comes home without his constant companian!! lol I never knew they could give you a night bag for a catheter.......I wasn't given one so you can imagine the trips to the loo at night with just the leg bag!!

Shame about the snowdrops Jane. I think we will be going next week now as up north they will be later flowering I think. I may ring first to see if there ARE any after your experience. They ones in our garden look good.

OH is well into the IMAX cinema again now since our trip last week. We are planning to go to the (smaller) Birmingham one in the next couple of weeks as there is a film about the Hubble Telescope which should be good. I need to check which days are the children group days first though as we want to avoid those!!

Shirl I loved Downton Abbey.........they are filming another series I think, so there is more to look forward to. I think Larkrise is losing its way a bit.....the actors are brilliant but better stories needed.

Totally agree with you Frank about Jason. The contestants are incredibly brave even attempting some of the things and all he can do is focus on the negative in such a rude, demoralising way. You can give advice in an encouraging supportive way.....he apparently can't!!

Afternoon everyone.
Jobs all done boiler fine lots of nice meat in my freezer.I had to wait for the butcher to do some of the stuffed Chicken.Mondays is obviously not the best day to go.
I got home and took a form down for Fitz to sign for Hannah. That took an hour and a half lol
Now I have just looked out the window and see 2 large branches of the pine tree down ,and a huge piece of bark off next doors dead tree.It looks like there could be more to come.
Cup of tea I think .I feel parched.

Hi Guys! Well we got to the hospital OK, and Ian has had the catheter removed, thank goodness!! relief all round!! However, half way home, the r.......dy car gave a cough and, away we went again, except that we didn't!!! R.A.C had to be called out AGAIN and we were carted home!! It's now back at the garage in the folorn hope that the problem can be run to earth. trouble is, that the computer is not showing a fault anywhere,!! apparently this can happen, if the the part that is faulty is still working, however badly, it shows as not being faulty!! crazy, modern cars, oh for an OLD Morris Minor, before electronics!!! Anyhow, we are home, and have another appointment in three weeks, and then we shall get the results of the tests. If they're OK then we shall be home and dry, so to say! just a final hurdle!!!

Oh I bet Ian feels more comfortable now Liz.'Freedom' lol
It sounds like your car is Jinxed Is it old /new,big/small?.Can you not get a curtesy car while yours is in?What a nuisance for you.
I had a new Renault a few years ago and it kept overheating. In the end they exchanged it as they could not find out the reason .I think it was put down as a rogue car.I have had Renaults for years and that was the only one I had any real problem with.

Liz, I feel for you about your car. Soon after my stroke we (ROS) wanted an automatic, and we bought a 206. After some time it developed a faulf where it would just cut out. On ther motorway you were scared to overtake, you would have to put it into nuteral and turn the key to start it. But of course you lost Power steering. It frightened her to death. Peuge#t couldn't find a fault, but on the WWW. there were no end of people who had experienced the same fault. It had to go. Sold it in the TRADE. as I didn't want to be responsible for it. Now got a Merc 160A Auto. Great car. I'm touching wood.!!! Glad everything is fine for IAN

We have had SUN all afternoon, but the wind is still with us.

Son from Rutland just SKYPED to say they have sold another property in the Carribean £280,000. Nice bit of commission due from that. It will help in this financial climate.

Trust everyone is well.

Just in from shopping. I met my SIL in Bideford!! She was so surprised to see me. I have never seen her anywhere else before except when she comes here to us.

Liz so glad Ian is more comfortable now. Good job he has got rid of that bag etc. But what a todo with your car. Don't think I would like to have one like that. Mine is bad enough if I go through a big puddle quickly. It keeps dyiing and then reving on it's own but knowing what happens now I just avoid puddles.

Glad you hav'nt all beeen posting loads while I have been out as I did'nt have much to catch up on.

The first Automatic car I ever had was one I was given to use when I was a Nanny. It took me a while to get used to it and I was always wearing out the brake pads lol.My Sister can only drive Automatics as she passed her test in one .I don't think she has ever driven a manual. It would scare her to bits.
When I was young I remember being allowed to sit on Dads knees and steer the car down our road. Can you imagine what would happen today if anyone was found doing that ??

Just waiting for Chris and Hannah. She is eating at a friends tonight and then tomorrow is staying over night in London. So just 2 to cook for.Whoopee ! lol
