Just got in from shopping and put it all away and now having a nice cuppa while catching up on your posts.

Liz what a todo with the prescription business. Glad it is now sorted for you and that Ian is eating better. As Frank said it takes about 6 weeks to get the anethetic out of the body.

Mandy what an awful crash that was. They must have been travelling at some speed to cut the car in half.

Anne glad you can relax a bit now the panto is over for another year.

Chicken stir fry tonight with egg noodles beansprouts mixed veg and spicy tom sauce thats a bit hot.

Oh Ann I did laugh at Gordon being to big for his boots. You were very quick with that answer. Good for you .............

My car goes in tomorrow for two new tyres and to have the tracking done and a new battery. More money. Oh has told me to have a pre MOT too to see if it is worth having these new things or not.

That car smash sounds horrific Mandy........I hope the poor children didn't see their mother go through the windscreen......dreadful. It's good that Katie doesn't have Asthma, something less to worry about.

It is bitterly cold here now. OH took the bins out and decided it was too cold for football tonight.....SWOON!! I bet he will go tomorrow whatever though.....HIS team will be playing. lol I asked him who the POPPIES were Jane.....answer came quick as a flash!

You are all making me hungry so I better go and see what I could have.......soup?.....jacket potato?

Anne, I don't know how I managed to do so much before I retired.......I still seem to be busy all the time.........maybe we do things more slowly. lol

Your soup sounds nice Jane, our Pork was good ,hubby said its just what he wanted to warm him up as he's been outside all day .

My friend gave me a recipe for a Pizza that has a base made with Mashed Potato ,you add flour to the potato then add the topping ,so i might try that tomorrow night .

I just hope that poor man makes it , if not those poor little children !!!

Jane Report 31 Jan 2011 20:39

Mandy ,my soup is yummy.Hannah wasn't too keen ,but Chris had a huge bowl and is up for it again tomorrow.I might freeze a little bit of it.Now waiting for baked potatoes that are cooked, but he is a bit stuffed from the soup lol.So we are looking at 8.30 is'h.
I can't believe how late we eat sometimes.Tea(as we called it then) was always on the table at a certain time.It was just after Dad got in from work so it must have been about 5 o'clock.Dad was a Lecturer of Marine Radar and I think his classes finished at about 4.Dad always had porridge for breakfast. The Scottish way .Salt ,not sugar. Then maybe bacon and egg and toast.I doubt he had anything else to eat until he came home.
My friend Anne who used to call for me in the morning on the way for the school bus always tells me she remembers my house having the lovely smell of toast, and she can still remember that smell today lol.She said it always smelled homely .Mmmmm,I can smell it now.Ooh it gives me goose bumps.
Smells do have a huge imprint on the memory don't they.

Jane Report 31 Jan 2011 21:51

Oh No ! I can't be doing with the smell of Kippers Fiona.I always have the need to wash my hair if kippers ,smoked haddock or anything similar is cooked. The smell just sticks in the hair I think. When I cooked that Smoked Haddock in the slow cooker the other day I noticed that the smell didn't come out and make everything reek.Which was great.
I have a thing about smelling of my cooking. It is when you open the oven door or take a lid of a pan and get wafted by the smell.it just clings to you,and your clothes.I hate going out smelling like a casserole ,or fish or a fry up etc lolol

Where is Frank??I hope he isn't in a strop lolol.

I think I will say night night now .See you all tomorrow x

7.20am!! I think I'm a real 'early bird' this morning! Didn't have a very good night, just couldn't sleep, simple as that. As you say Frank, it takes weeks for the anasthetic to get out of the system so 'the victim' is bound to feel rough for a while! Ian slept fitfully, and is asleep now so don't want to wake him. You won't believe this, but the couple who came round our house for a second time on Sat, are very interested in buying it!!!! I can't see us even being able to THINK about house hunting before May, and that's only if Ian doesn't need radio therapy!! I told them that had we forseen all this we wouldn't have put it on the market till Ian was better! however, they want it for a holiday home (I don't really approve, but needs must!!) and are therefore prepared to wait for as long as it takes!! mind you, we haven't seen the colour of their offer yet, so musn't get TOO excited!!! Must ring the hospital today, we have an outpatients appointment next Monday for 9.45! As we live 40 miles away it would mean leaving here at 8.30 to be sure of rush hour in Taunton, bad enough when you are feeling OK, but definitely NOT, when you're a 'poor old soul'!!!! They'll have to alter it for later! Must go to e-mail my cousin while I have a moment!!!! B.B.L.

Morning All,

Jane I was just thinking of Pinch and a Punch this morning. Great minds think alike!

Mizzle here this morning and I took my car in early. So I am here and land locked at the moment.

It is really miserable today so think I may do a bit of ironing. Still ice around on the roads round here even though it is warmer.

Liz good news about your house and hope it all goes well.

If they really do want it they will wait. I always think it is a shame when a house is bought for a holiday home, but I suppose it will give the family lots of happy memories for the future.

We had a caravan on the beach when I was young. We had stayed in a friends chalet on the beach and when the van next to it came up for sale mum and dad bought it. I have great memories of bonfires on the beach and sailing in dads boat and even my little dingy home made by mums sisters hubby. When he moved to Devon he gave me the boat. Needless to say it was stolen during one winter.

I am here Jane, and not in a strop!!!!! Not on the top of the world today, had a terrible night, awake a 3.30 and could't get back to sleep. Ros had a good night, I felt her get out about 7.30. I laid trying to get an hour, but with no luck. Up about 8.30.

We were all showed and had breakfast before the nurse came. She is pleased with the wound and said it's started to heal from the bottom. She has a probe that she can measure it !! NO THANK YOU>

I am a little concerned about myself. When standing at the sink/waldrobe etc, All I need to do is turn to my right to carry on doing what I want, but instead I turn in a circle the opposite way. I have noticed it more recently. Don't like to bother anyone with it.I wonder if it's due to my brain function relating to my stroke or could it be something else. If it continues I will have to see the Doctor.

Misserable day here, rain then sun then rain again. Sun at the moment. Ann, arn't you the lucky one !!!

Liz, that is early for an appointment, they seems to get everyone there early, and leave you to sit around most of the day. They never keep to an appoinment time.

Ment to say about Ralphs computer, What a BIG let down for him. Would it not pay to go to a local computer shop to see what they have and if they can give you some sort of G'tee, which you won't get from Ebay sellers.

Doing a BEEF stew, Have chopped a tray of stewing beef, Veg, including, leeks, carrot, onion, swede, turnip, onions, tined peas, tomato soup, oxtail soup, with Bovril, and seasoning. with simmer away allday. have it this evening. Save me a lot of pots and pans tonight.

Kidney stones a little irritable this morning, have taken more tablets.

Afternoon all,
We've had rain this morning ,but its a little brighter now .

Been to help sister with her lap top ,she wanted to join Ancest*y ,we started ,then when it came to putting in her email address ,she didn't know what is was , her son had got her on line and as she's still a leaner she had no idea !! and i didn't know how to do it as my son had sorted mine out for me ,so we were a good pair together lol
Her son said he'll come tonight and sort it out for her .

Hubby's home today ,he had a hard day yesterday laying concrete and he got really cold ,so he thought he'd have a day off .

Good news about your house Liz, if they really want it they'll wait ,but as you say you don't know what they are offering yet !!

Frank, i'd get to the doctors and get yourself checked out , it might just be all the stress , worrying about Ros.

Afternoon All,

Can't seem to get to sleep then want to sleep when it's time to get up!! Lovely and sunny here at the moment, but still some ice on the garden.

Frank, get yourself off to the docs.......better to be safe than sorry and get checked! Ros's wound seems to be healing nicely now so I imagine she is more comfortable with it.

Mandy your hubby must have been frozen concreting yesterday........he will enjoy his day off I bet.

I have a few errands now..............BBL

couple of numbers so we can't get the code in!! Oh well I tried.

Now £191 lighty but it is nice to know if I want to go out I can whether it is frosty or not.

Glad that Ros's wound is healing Frank, she will be more comfortable soon now. By the way you always heal from the inside out.

The sun came out this morning after that horrid start to the day and has been out ever since. I was going to put some washing in the machine but thought better of it. If I did the sun would disappear so I am enjoying it while it lasts.

My bantams down here at the house have been let out as it's a nice day now. They are in their glory scratching around and sitting in the sun.

Just having a cuppa then back to the ironing.

Sheep Sh*t pie tonight as I have anice cabbage to go with it.
