Gosh Sheila you seem to have had a whale of a time at the panto. I am not surprised Julian did'nt want a kiss as he has a phobia about people touching him.
For April to have been given something by him was lovely and she shoudld treasure it and keep it safe. It could be worth something one day!
The wind here is still icy cold it makes your eyes water and then ache.
Jane I would wash the floors after Chris and Chester get back tomorrow otherwise you may have to do them again.
Frank you need to calm down love, open a nice bottle of red with your meal tonight. Oh perhaps not as Ros can't have any if she is on Antibiotics.

Sheila, what a brilliant account of your time at the Panto. How lovely for April to be given a gift from Julian Cleary. It sounds like Joan Collins may be past doing Panto lol.I have to say I'm surprised she is doing Panto. I saw Barbara Windsor in Panto a few years ago and wasn't impressed. I'm glad the pony and Rashers have new homes.I'm sure they will be fine .I just hope no-one decides to buy April anymore pets at the moment(I don't mean that to sound bad)I hope you know what I mean. I hope you had a few laughs!!,and I'm sure it did you the world of good

Love to hear some more of your stories of your Dad Frank, that tattoo would cost a small fortune to have done now .
My Dad was a dispatch driver ,he had a motor bike and had an accident, came off the bike and cut half his index finger off,he was out in Burma ,he never talked much about the war and i suppose i never asked !! One of these days i'am going to send for his War Records to see exactly were he went and when, i think it costs about £30. Jane , are you going out to have a meal to celebrate Chris's birthday,or just having a family day.
Anne, i'am a bit lost ....is Dora ,Benjamin's daughter ? without the tree to look at its a bit of a job to know who's who lol.
Sheila, glad to hear you enjoyed the panto, took your mind off things for a while. Good to hear your OH is getting there Liz, you'll be glad to get him home now . It's a bug*er about the car !!! lets hope they can find out whats causing it . We had a car that used to rev up on its own ,it kept going in the garage and they never did find out what was wrong with it , we got rid of it in the end !!

Evening All,
Glad Ian is feeling a bit chirpier Liz and that he will soon be home......he will feel even better then!! Very worrying for you and what a nuisance with the car.......electrical or dirt in the fuel can be like that, ok one minute and playing up the next, but always ok when at the garage!!!
Not surprised you had a spat Frank, both stressed and nerves on edge over the past few days. It is so hard to get it just right and I'm sure what is too much fuss on one thing won't be enough on something else. Things will soon settle down, so try to stay calm.
We did some shopping this morning and met 2 former work colleagues in 2 different shops. The first was able to tell us that the lady I went to school with and later worked with who died in the summer age 65 had had breast cancer a couple of years ago and it had returned. She was working right up to just before she died. I was surprised she hadn't retired at 60. The second was in the farm shop and he was getting his daughter's shopping. A few months ago we met him doing his 40 year old son's shopping!! lol Then we went for a walk, but not too far as it was bitterly cold. To warm us up we called and had a 2 for 1 pork shank lunch and didn't get home till 4.00pm. I was chuffed as we got a frame for a little painting that fits perfectly and for only £6.

I did that last year Mandy and got my dad's army records. He was in Burma for a short while too. It took over 6 months to get them, but lots of info in there, all the training courses he did and a character description and where he went.....very interesting. He didn't have any tattoos, but I found out one of his uncles did from the military records on An*estry!! lol I think that was a serpent around his arm.
Yes Frank, more stories about your dad please.......it must have taken ages to do that tattoo. Didn't Popeye have an anchor on his arm??

I have the feeling Popeye had that Tattoo Ann,and he walked with a swagger,a rolling motion .Frank is that how your Dad walked?I don't really mean quite like Popeye ,but with the same kind of roll to his walk. I would love to see Popeye back on the tele, also Sylvester and Pixie and Dixe(who we were talking about the other day).I think the young children today would like Yogi Bear and Boo Boo(was it Boo Boo)? 20.52

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS. You must look older than your years, living with JANE. We men do suffer.!!!!
District nurse has just left. All cleaned out and redressed. Same time tomorrow she said. We will see.
Rutland Son, coming down tomorrow, they will want their Roast beef dinner.
I feel a bit brighter this morning. knowing that Ros is felling better in herself, and out of pain. Now we need to get her back sorted out. Then we can be normal again, if thats possible.!!!!!
In between the wars, my dad left the Royal Navy. and joinded the Murchant fleet. Travelled the world over two or three times. When WW 2 broke out, he was to old for active service. so joined the Port of London Authority. as Chief Petty Officer. Not too sure of his position, but something to do with ship movements around the Thames. After the war, he was back on the "TRAMP STEAMERS" from London to most European ports. He also was Bosun on the Pleasure Steamers from Tower Bridge to Clacton, Margate and all places in between. I think because of him I have the love for the sea in my blood. I am sure I will end up on the Coast before I pass on. I havealso wanted to be buried at sea. But I think to cost would be to much, and Ros wouldn't like it.

Frank, you sound happier today ,glad Ros is getting on ok and her pain has eased . I've never heard of Tramp Steamers Frank, what did they ferry ? I'd love to live by the sea , it must be lovely waking to the sound of the sea ,and on a windy day watching the waves crash up on to the rocks .
Off out in a while ,hubby's got a job to go and look at, so i'am going too ,will be nice to have a ride out .

Mandy the term "TRAMP STEAMER" was basically, ships that took any type of cargo to anywhere the owner wanted the cargo to go. Around the City of London. (Leadenhall St/Fenchurch St ) were most of the shipping agents. Where "SAILORS" ship workers could sign on for these "TRAMPS" There is so much history around the city regarding shipping. The Paddle steamers my dad worked on was the GOLDEN EAGLE which was owned by the General Steam Navigation Company (GSNC) The way I remembered that is "GOOD SAILORS NEVER COMPLAIN" If you Google the boat. you will see it's history. I spent many Sundays going from the Tower pier to all places round the Essex/Kent coast. I would go down to the galley and get Crab claws. would only have to say "Sailor Bills" son. and would be feed like a lord.

That's good Frank to know Ros is not in pain now.(well not her tummy ),and I'm glad you are more cheerful too.Not nice when we feel miserable is it.
Oh The Sea !.I will always miss it .I'm not sure what a Tramp Steamer is either.
Chris had had his pressies now and is working out the Kindle!.Hannah has made us all lovely bacon and fried egg sandwiches.Delicious and now it smells like Joes Cafe lol It feels colder today ,more so than yesterday so I have lit the fire to make it all cosy. Is anyone doing the Bird Watch this weekend?I may do it (if I remember)lol

Afternoon All,
It's freezing here with a nasty 'windchill' so I'm staying in now where it is warm. OH is at footie with his dad. He was looking at thermals again in M*S this morning...........some of the grounds have little shelter!!
MANY HAPPY RETURNS to CHRIS!! I bet he enjoys his Kindle Jane. Frank it is us ladies who keep our men so YOUNG.!! lol
I'd never heard of a Tramp Steamer either......very interesting. The things we learn from each other on here!! Glad Ros seems to be feeling a bit better. Pain does wear you down after a while.
Hope Liz's Ian is feeling better today as well and that the garage have managed to fix her car for her.
