10.30am
The phone has been RED HOT since 8am. Ros has rung about 5 times both boys, neighbours and friends. I have had to ring the hospital to cancel appointments she had coming up, over this problem. It looks like they will operate this afternoon. The registrar came round this morning to tell her, but no time given. 11.45pm they came round to her bed and put a canular in her hand.(she had just droped of to sleep) They came at 5am this morning and took blood. Nothing to eat or drink, not a happy bunnie at the moment.
Happy Birthday LIZ. and Happy Anniversary to MEL and Mr. MEL.
Liz, Do hope Ian is over the worse of the operation, it's Sunshine all the way now my love. Keep your chin up.
I proved one thing last night, I didn't move all night. So it's not me who pulls at the bed cloths !!!! Well not last night anyway.

Thank you all SO much for your good wishes, it's really meant a lot to have such super support. Fiona, I'm now admitting to 30, (!!!!!) but no more!! double your money and add 8 and you'll be spot on!!! Rang the hospital and Ian, is doing VERY well, he's out of bed having a wash and pretty perky. The op went very well, however we still have to wait for the tissue tests to see if the cancer has come out of the Prostate, the surgeon seemed to think that it hadn't, so hopefully no more problems. Frank, I do hope that Ros will be OK what a performance you've had over all this, let's hope that it'll be sorted once and for all. Have given Merlins stable a really good clean this morning, lots of disinfectant and sweeping, Millie could do with a good brush and comb, so I shall do that as well, hospital after that, then home to watch the second part of 'Silent Witness'. Did you guys watch it? scary or what!!!!

Glad Ian is up & about Liz, these nursing staff really like to get you out of bed quick these days.
I love horses and used to do a bit of riding in younger days when visiting my grandparents here in Scotland. My cousin who was brought up by our grandparents as her mum died when she was 3 and her dad died when she was 15, had a several horses at one time , not all at once though . her first was black & white and called Billy Boy, it was a huge horse to me being a little girl at the time it looked huge anyway
Both my grandparents owned grocery shops and managed local post offices. so I used to think they were very rich to live in a big house and have a horse in their garage

Ros rang at 12.10 to say she was just going into operating theatre. Depending how long it takes for her to come round, and how she's feeling, they might only might let her out tonight. I have a friend of her's going in this evening, so all being well, she might be able to bring her home.
Am just preparing a nice meal for her, because I am sure she will be hungry. Sliced cold leg of pork, in a chicken gravy, with mushrooms, baby onions, and thinly sliced potato over the top, with a little cream poured over. That will be baked in the oven. Veg. are buttered swede and carrot mash, and cabbage. If she's not home I will eat it later tonight.!!!!

Afternoon everyone.
What a lot has happened since I signed off yesterday. Firstly Happy Birthday Liz and pleased to hear that your hubby is recovering well. Frank I was sorry to hear that Ros had to go to hospital and I hope her operation this afternoon is successful, As a new comer to the thread I thought I had better do some reading up on old messages to better understand the chat. Not finished yet but getting there.Learning of other peoples problems sure puts my backache into perspective. My day is proving to be very ordinary with a walk into town this morning and more ironing this afternoon then back to the panto this evening. The weather is dry and mild but the washing has not dried at all outside.

They say no news is good news. Haven't heard from Ros, so I suppose she has gone down.
Anne, If there is anything you would like to know about us lot, you only have to ask. I don't think we have any secrets.
Since the change in the thread (before you joined us) a lot of us put the time when we post. It helps to see who posted, when. Just a thought.
Where is our JANE this afternoon, Hope she hasn't had a liquid lunch with Fiz !!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I didn't think you had secrets but I need to know some background info as I do not want to say the wrong thing and appear insensitive especially where illness is concerned. Off to cook the tea which consists of turkey and roasted veg today and then out again. 16.24

Don't Panic Frank Here I am . No ,no liquid lunch today.Just mundane stuff like washing and ironing ,and preparing dinner. I hope Ros has been down now Frank. There is nothing worse that hanging around waiting and getting nervous. Is she in Northampton or Birmingham? I bet Liz's OH was pleased to see her this afternoon.
It is a dark and drizzly afternoon now,and I need to lug the recycling bins out to the pavement.I better do it before it gets too dark.
I wonder what play Fiona is going to see. Anne how is the Panto going, and the sweets and ice cream?
I am parched ,so will make a nice cup of tea I think.

Everyone seems to be going out........OH is on his way to north of Leeds to watch a match tonight. Hope you enjoy the play Fiona and that the panto and icecream goes well Anne. I thought about going to see Anton and Erin who are doing a show locally. 'Putting on the Ritz' but the seats left are not very good.......I hate being in the middle of a row. lol
Fiona if I'd had grandparents with horses I would have wanted to move in with them!! lol
I remember wondering what people were talking about sometimes when I was new on the thread Anne..........you will soon catch up.
My bunch of flowers didn't come out right did they!! lol I remember now, Mel said GR had stopped us from using as many symbols.........pity!

She out of theatre, she rang a few minutes ago, very drowsey. I will go in about 7.30pm. They think she will be able to come home tonight. So have cooked the dinner earlier this afternoon, so just have to warm it through. If she feels like eating. She has asked me to get a wheelchair from A & E. as she won't be able to walk. Hope I don't meet my PORTER friend !!!!! Will take Ros's blue badge so we can park outside the hospital door. If there's space.
See you later. and thanks for all your good wishes.

Hello there Shirl. Blimey ,you have got it cold.Have you got snow as well?Hopefully we have seen the last of our snow. But then it quite often comes in February. It's good to see you popping in now.You have been missed.
It'll be nice for Ros to get home this evening, but I bet she won't fancy eating a huge meal.Frank will have double lol Must go an take chicken out of the oven and get the potatoes in.I need everything cooked by 6.30 just in case Chris can't pick Hannah up from the station and I have to dash off.I can't leave roast potatoes in cooking.I may come back to charcoal !
