I just LOVE our thread .It may be lacking in childhood memories now ,but that is because we have 'run out' (at the moment)
It is good we can all have a laugh and a joke and talk about 'whatever'.
I remember my Dad in the garden after Mum had given him earache about something, and he was hiding behind the whirly washing line, putting two fingers up. Then going in the garage for a quick puff on his pipe (to chill) lol

OH says chopping bushes was all he could manage the ground is rock solid. and we are still getting frosty mornings, that still doesn't stop the weeds getting through, the birds had a great time in the garden , OH must have disturbed all the grubs ect , there was an invasion of little birds.
Chaffinches
Siskins- little green finches
Gray tits
Blue tits
and also a lot of Blackbirds, I also put out a seed bell fastened to the clothes pole and those mischevious squirels broke the string and stole it lol

going to switch TV on for Larkrise at 8.00,
bbl before bed time.

Jane,my father used to do that to my mother behind her back when she'd been 'Niggly', she knew he was doing it, and didn't take any notice!! No Mandy, we don't have to ring before we go, just keep our fingers crossed!!! I can remember when I was VERY small riding on the back of my mother's bike in one of those seats and the feeling that I might fall! I've never had any sense of balance at all, I think it stems from then!!!! Whoops, time for Larkrise!!

Mel Thanks for the tip about the cottage cheese. I have fed the birds hard cheese before and they love it but not tried cream etc.
Will sign off now and go find something to do other than watching tele.

Morning All,

Dull again this morning and no frost.

Liz I shall be thinking of your Ian today, hope everything goes off ok. He is in my prayers.

Well as for them cutting Lark Rise! if it carries on like last night I shan't miss it. I thought it was a load of nothing yesterday and OH said he had missed the first of the new Top Gear. Perhaps Anne's hubby and mine should get together. We usually have to watch it even if it is repeats. I could'nt tape Larkrise as our replay box still is'nt working.

Thank you Mel. We are just about ready for the 'off' 'so won't hang around! Thank you everyone for your good wishes and kindness, I agree with you about 'Larkrise', I went to sleep through a lot of it and apparently didn't miss much!! I think they're beginning to scratch around for story lines, it's certainly nothing like the book! What on earth was all that tra la with that rather spooky clergyman and Emma Timmins? and in any case 'who cares'?!! Must Go, Back later.

What a load of twaddle Larkrise was last night. If thats the best they can offer as stories, it's best they take it off, I was bored stiff.

Liz, You and ian are in my thoughts, hope all goes well, he will be home before you know it.

Ros is in a right state this morning, she has rung the specialist, he's in operating at the moment. Will ring her back when he's out. Might be she will have to go straight in. No breakfast in case. Neighbour standing by to take her. It id a Bugg## not being able to drive.!!!!

I see the Blackbirds are chasing each other around, must be the sign of "SPRING IN THE AIR". Bulbs are all ahowing through

Jane Report 24 Jan 2011 11:27

I'm late here today.
I expect Liz and Ian are on the way to the hospital now.Taking all our best wishes with them.

I have just made those olive and lemon meatballs.I had a bit of a job stopping some of them falling apart after I had rolled them.Maybe I should have been firmer with them.It is all smelling good now.

As I was doing them I thought about an old song.......My Meatball won't come back!!.I think it was a song, but can't for the life of me remember who sang it

Coffee time now 11.27

Jane Report 24 Jan 2011 11:35

Anne

Anne Report 24 Jan 2011 11:44

Morning all

Jane Re meatball song it came from a song called On Top of Spaghetti but I do not know who sang it google should know.
Re last nights joke, hubby wondered what I am doing on my machine when he saw the title, says take care as people monitor these things.
Once he read the joke he did have a good laugh though.
Hope Liz' husband is ok and I too am thinking of him.
*Mel* Glad I'm not the only one with a Top Gear mad husband. Programme was not one of the best( other than landing a helicopter on top of a Skoda).
Has anyone tried using using a Wash-It ball from Lakeland? I bought one on Saturday and have used for the first time today. It is detergent free, ecologically friendly and does 100 washes before it needs replacing. The jeans seem to be ok so we will wait and see.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Jan 2011 12:51

Anne I have'nt used one of those wash balls but did wonder about them once a time ago. I am elergic to perfume and all kinds of smelly things, eg polish, shower gel etc. I use B*ld lavender and Camomile and seem to be ok with that but do get sneezing fits sometimes.
