Oh no, don't tell me there's more snow on the way :-(
Hope you are feeling better today Mandy, not sure the doc can do anything for flu except tell you what you already know, stay in keep warm and take paracetomal.
I had a real fright this morning, came downstairs and no Alfie, in all his two and half years he is always there waiting for his breakfast. I noticed the cat flap had been knocked and it was set for the cats to go out but locked for them to come back in, looked out but couldn't see him, the other two were at the back door waiting to come in. I walked down the garden calling him, looked over the fence, all sorts of horrible things were going through my mind, turned around and there he was walking towards me, he was filthy, covered in mud from his paws to his nose, poor little thing must have been so cold, he's fine now, has given himself a good wash, he's still dirty though and is tucked up in his bed under the radiator.
I've deleted that e.mail now Mel, maybe somebody still has it and can forward it to you.
Saw the programme on Richard III really interesting, although I thought that woman was a bit OTT.
Was at Finley's birthday party on Sunday so didn't see DOI, who has gone?

Hi One Foot ITG That was some memory there.I think I too would have been hiding behind my mothers skirts faced with a stern looking woman like Queen Mary :-S.Any more memories gratefully welcomed :-D :-D
Poor little Alfie ,Maureen :-(.He must have been scared as well as cold).Did one of the cats knock the lock or was it you ??? ;-) Did Finley enjoy his party?3 years old !!He is a big boy now.
The snow turned to rain ,but now its dark I can't see what it is doing.I think is light rain.
We have Rotisserie style chicken, with green veg risotto and mozarella balls, and Mediterranean veg tonight. It smells good :-D

Maureen I thought that woman was a right Wuss!! Flippin heck, as Mel said the filming was done afterwards so it wasn't as if it was all 'new' to her. I felt she was being a bit of a drama queen to keep the attention on herself. Credit to her though for persisting and getting funds to do the dig. Poor little Alfie sounded as if he'd had quite enough of his adventure. I love the thought of him waiting for his breakfast!
Sorry to hear you aren't well Mandy, it does sound like flu if you feel too poorly to bother dressing. It's horrid when you don't feel well enough to go to the docs but need to get checked out. I hope you don't have to wait long.
Good luck with the old ablets Fiona. Fingers crossed for you.
Frank, our chickens were the same.......if one found a way out of the chicken run they were ALL out in no time and all over the garden, scratching up the plants to looks for crawlies and down by the brook at the bottom of the garden. At least they were easy to get back though with a bit of grain shaken in a tin!! I must say I used to love to watch them and listen to the little noises they made......very calming and relaxing. Clara loved to sit in the middle of the Michaelmas daisies in the summer.
What a memory One Foot ITG! I'm not surprised it made a lasting impression on you. Any more memories?
Kim, our paper says Richard will be buried in the Cathedral here in the city, a stone's throw from where he was found. Mind you, I was listening to the radio earlier and it seems some aren't happy with that!! My side is much improved today, hope your arm is improving too. These things would right themselves in a couple of days when we were young!! :-|

Welcome to One Foot in the Grave, always nice to hear someone elses memories.
I've added have my tooth root out today and having a plate for the first time!!! Our dentist cheered me up by saying whilst showing me the XRay up on the screen "As you can see, the root is badly decayed. If I can't get it all out I'll need to refer you to the hospital....." All that while you can't talk because he's been sticking umpteen needles in your gum :-S Anyway, it all came out in one piece, but I'm hanged if I can see me getting used to this plate. It looked so tiny sitting on his instrument panel, in my mouth it feels like a boulder :-(
OK, I'm feeling sorry for myself, starving, nose keeps running, watching Carmel eating REAL food. First thing this morning I was trying to put washing on the line while my fingers were freezing off in the bitter wind. Then there was second lot, sheets this time, I felt like someone on a transatalintic yatch race, getting cuaght up in sheets billowing around me. Reminds me when we used to take out my brothers yatch from Bradwell Marina.
Watched the TV on Richard III last night, I thought it was very interesting with all the technology etc. Finding him in that exact spot was either a miracle or Kingly guidance. But definitely not as funny as Mrs Brown's Boys :-D - I hear now York is laying claim to having him buried there. He died on Bosworth field , maybe Sutton Cheney church should have him buried with the other knights that perished and are buried there! What do I know... C Y A L

Our paper tonight is a Richard 111 Souvenir Edition. A medieval language expert has looked at letters Richard wrote and has said that he is likely to have spoken with a West Midlands accent. At that time the accent may have resembled a London accent. He is certain from his writing that he would not have had a Yorkshire accent. This is him reading the letters how he thinks Richard would have spoken.

Morning all,
Our papers here have been full of Richard lll and talk of him being buried at St. Martin's Cathedral. Ann that would be the one near you. I remember studying all about the English Kings, but I can't remember them all and what I learned. The old memory ain't what it used to be.
Maureen poor little Alfie, so glad you found him and he is back indoors cosy and warm. My 14 year old cat has been chasing lizards today. She is very thin, but still getting around like a kitten when she's not annoying me here at the computer.
Jane I was fearing I would lose my teeth due to my ill health. The thought of a plate bothers me too as I would be gagging. My dad used to carry his plate around in a hanky in his pockets and just couldn't wear them. Hopefully my teeth will last a bit longer.
Mandy I hope you are feeling a little better today. Rest up.
Chinese tonight for Joel and I, Keith is doing well on his diet and feeling the benefits. Very proud of him.
Have a good day, hope it doesn't snow too heavily. 7.28 pm ADST

My goodness that was SO interesting, especially as the archeologists found the skeleton in the first trench they dug, amazing or what! I wonder who painted the'R'!! Being able to see exactly what Richard looked like too was extraordinary . Did he have the 'Princes' killed? or was it 'someone else?! Has anyone read 'The Sunne in Splendour' by Sharon Penman? or 'The daughter of Time' by Josephine Tey? These two books give a very good and thoughtful annalysis of Richard 111 and his time, and are well worth reading. William, I think you will, in time adjust to your plate. I had one, top and bottom for two years (maybe longer!) when I was a child, (braces) and at first it felt such a mouthful, but it didn't t take long before I got use to them, so the thought of false teeth doesn't bother me too much. Shopping today. on my own - hooray!! OH very busy with several orders for House Signs, and a memorial wooden plaque for someones dog!!!

Morning all.evening Kim.
I have been reading some of your posts..
Yesterday about 4.30 I just started to walk the dogs with Alan and it started snowing..We had about a 20 min walk in it but 10 mins after we got in it stopped..It still feels as it is in the air now.
I have apart denture..It does take some getting used to...
Im off to work this afternoon..must put a catch on my purse have 2 dogs to support now ;-)
I have alot of recorded programes to catch up on some time..I have gone off Mr selfridge but I used to record the midwifes..But because Gareth was here on Sunday forgot both..I had to go on demand to catch up with the midwife one..
I went line dancing Monday after a few weeks..They kept cancelling because of the snow..
Last wednesday the shop had a quizz night with others ..One of the questions was when was the queen crowned..Of course I knew the day and month..Also remember having a street party to celebrate but on the day it pored with rain and it was held in a school that I later went too and worked in lol

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Gosh did we have a gale last night. It blew the dustbin over twice and I thought it was in a sheltered place. I had to put it in the porch bit by the back door. Our recycling did'nt empty this week and I have just been up the gate to see if it was spread all down the road but the only thing that had left it was one can which was easily picked up.
We have sunshine and still a high wind today but it also lashed sown with rain in the night.
Housework this morning I think!! Bah humbug......................I have about eight shirts to iron for oh and I need to have a good go at the light over the table as I have a tiny tiny spider who makes two webs every night. I take them down each morning but hav'nt found the spider yet.
Still hav'nt washed the glass doors either. Then there is Hogwart to clean out which I hav'nt done yet.
We have had a caller about the church boiler this morning too as he is going away for 6 weeks on holiday so leaving the file about the new boiler with oh.
Had a listen to that link Ann put up and could hardly understand the first speech but the second one was much easier to under stand.
I find it all very interesting.

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Been busy chatting again I see, I didn't get chance to get back on last night.
The snow didn't come to anything,it turned to rain, with very high winds. Still very windy out there at the moment.
Ros wants me to go to town with her. I turned down the offer. My left knee, is giving me jip this morning, it's two weeks since the last injection, so I assume it's wearing off. I wonder if he will give me another next week, or send me for a scan. She has to get her glass's fixed, they are all floppy, and keep falling of her face, Also three watch batteries have run out within a week of each other, so we haven't got a working watch between us. She will get those replaced on the Market. We also need a few bits from Tesc#.
While she's out I will prepare dinner for tonight, and try to catch up on" DICK"
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Had an email from a friend from when I was really young. She lived up the road at number three and we lived at 27. It is so nice to be able to chat to soemone you have known all those yeaers. She is a little older than me and I have pics of her at my Christmas parties. Must try and scan some and send them to her. That will be a surprise.
