Thoroughly enjoyed Midnight Tango starring Flavia and Vincent although I thought the one I saw in Argentina was better, more authentic but then it would be I suppose seeing as that's where the dance originated. Still it was very good.
I do find your snippets of information interesting Mel, that was something I have never heard of but it looks like we're in for more wintry weather then as it is fair and bright here today.
Finley will be 3 on Monday, they are having a little party for family tomorrow.
Good to hear you are feeling a little better Fiona, not heard from Kim for a while hope she is well.

Lovely day here, been outside a lot. I do know about it being Candlemas, and the presentation of Christ in the temple, and of blind Simeon and ancient Anna! I did go to a convent so it would be odd if I didn't!! I did also have a copy of 'Children's stories from the Bible', given to me by my granny when I was 9, and all these stories are there, written in a way children can understand. L has it now and still reads it to her three. Monday we should know whether Richard the 3rd has been found! If it is him, and I think it probably is, will he be re-buried, and if so where?!! watch this space (and programme) I'd say!!

That's good Fiona.Just the fact that you have managed to get your hair washed will make you feel better in yourself.I hope the weather has been nice enough to get out for a drive this afternoon.
I have just prepared all the bits for my Paella,so it will be just a matter of putting it together later.
When I was in M&* this morning one of the staff managed to catch a woman who had been shoplifting.Well the woman actually got away but the holdall she had been filling got left behind. It had lots of meat in it.Things like the Chicken joints in the foil dishes.I just hope it wasn't a desperate person needing to feed a family.(not saying it is ok to steal),but don't like to think of anyone having to go hungry.
No snow here Mandy. It has been sunny nearly all day ,but clouding over now.Blooming Chilly though :-S.
Early night AGAIN.Up at the crack of dawn so I can wash my hair.Chris and James can pack the car up while I nip out with Chester. So I'm hoping we will be away between 9 and 9.30.
LOL Chester is looking half baked.(a bit like his mistress)I feel half baked too today. I'm all aches today especially my crunchy shoulder :-S
Chris has got his electric power screwdriver thing on charge.I think it will be needed tomorrow to tighten up screws on Hannahs new bed that is arriving today. Poor John is sounding really under the weather .I thought it was just his throat that is ulcerated but his ear tube is also the same.Looks like he will off work for another week :-(
I need to go and just cut up the Chicken into cubes and check I have got all the ingredients ready.I reckon we'll eat about 7.

Yes Liz.........like I said the other day, they have an exhibition planned here for a few days later, so I don't think that would be planned if they thought it wasn't him. There was a photo in the local paper today of the car park and spot where he was found. Right near the spot was a letter 'R' on the tarmac and apparently no-one can say why it was there. They don't think it means a 'Reserved' parking bay as the 'R' wasn't inside a parking bay! A spooky mystery!! I still can't believe I used to play in the school playground just a few feet away! Obviously in these parts we want him buried here as it has been good enough for him for hundreds of years!! We have roads named after him and the battle site near here. They are working on a revamp of the area around the Cathedral at the moment to make it a more pleasant place and that is opposite the school next to where he was found, it is one place that's been suggested. Still there will be big discussions/arguments about it so who knows where he will end up!! :-)
My mum went to a convent too, but she never talked about the 'religious' side of it, other than she would do the chanting in Latin that would make us burst out laughing as children. She said the nuns were very strict though. She even worked at Spode House after she left school, but reading the history it iwould seem the school would have been at the new priory that was built in the grounds. This is a picture of Spode House as it was called then and I just read that he man who founded the CENSUS owned the estate once.

You have put up some interesting stuff about Richard the third's body being found.
I am looking forward to the program in the week too. I think I asked Ann about it as I saw it was in Leicester a while ago. She told me somemthing about it and sent me pics.
I have been looking for a recipe for a walnut and coffee cake that is not too large. All the recipes I have found are for and 8 inch tin one or a square tin one and I want one to do in a 1lb loaf tin.
Any of you got a recipe for this please? or date and walnut?

Me too Mel, I've had a lazy day, hoping the rest will make my side better quicker. I just looked in my recipe books.......only one for a square tin! (coffee and walnut cake is one of my favourites.)
Mandy, your other apple cake obviously went down well in spite of you thinking it wasn't so good!!
Jane, they arrested a woman at our Sains*ury's just down the main road on Monday and she had a holdall with nearly £900 worth of spirits in she'd stolen according to the local paper. Her address was in Hounslow, London and it turned out the address matched that of a man also arrested on Monday for stealing over £600 worth from a Te*co here. The prosecution think they were part of a criminal gang operating from the address in London, although her story was that she was stealing to fund her train fare back to London to sell the items to send the money to Romania for her children and family.
I popped in a few charity shops at Hinckley while we were over there the other day and noticed one had a nice new shiny lock. Then I noticed one of the small panes of glass next to it had been broken and a bit of wood fixed in place temporarily so they had obviously had a break in. We still don't know if it was burglars that caused the alarm next door to go off as they are still away. We are already thinking of getting the police to come and do a security check here before the houses are built nearby. I think it is all a sign of the times. People get desperate for all kinds of reasons and there aren't enough deterrants or beat bobbies about.
Poor John, just when he needs to be fit with moving into the new flat and all the jobs to do to get straight. I hope he feels better soon.

Ooh that was interesting Ann :-D Quite a building! How is your poorly side this evening.Any easier?
Mel I don't have a recipe for you but my Mum made just the best Coffee and Walnut Sponge. Both Hannah and James will say that one of those cakes reminds them of Grandma. Her sponges were huge and so moist.I wish she was here to show me how she did it lol.My two would be really impressed if I came up with one like Grandma's :-D.
I heard a lot of rummaging in the garage just now.It was Chris filling a bag with all sorts of tools lol.,and there was me thinking he was just taking an electric screwdriver ! He said he has no idea what might be needed.I think it could be the blind leading the blind :-S :-S..I will just stay clear of any DIY stuff :-D

I expect your mother went to a Roman Catholic convent Ann? Where I went was an Anglican Order of Nuns, so no latin!! except what clever people were taught in class. We had quite a lot of lay staff both' in house' and coming daily as well as teaching nuns. We had one sister who 'jumped over the wall' which caused a bit of excitement, great speculation as to why?!! My experience of nuns was that they were really lovely or really horrid, no half way house. I think, for what it's worth, that Richard should be buried where local people would like him to be; however, as an annointed king, who knows!. Another thing, talking of Richard 111, wouldn't it be briliant if DNA could be done on the bones of Edward Vth and Richard of York? to find out once and for all whether these bones are them - or not!! Apparently they were examined in the 1930's, and the results were a bit ambiguous, now of course a deffinite diagnoses could be made, that would certainly be interesting.

Here we are again, Likey on, I'm off.!!!
When is the Richard programme on ??? PLEASEE.
Went for a few beers at lunchtime, My left eye clouded over, so had to do with one !! Hasn't been good all afternoon, in fact still not good tonight. I think ROS must have poked me in the eys last night while I was asleep. :-( :-( :-( I only had new glass's last year, so might have to go for another eye test.
Ros was very annoyed with me for walking home in the bitter wind, and only seeing out of one eye. She said why didn't you ring. I hadn't taken my phone again.
I had a nice piece of COD withour batter and a few chips, Ros had her chinese, which we didn't have to pay for. The last order three weeks ago, they put chillies i n, and we allways ask for NO CHILLIES because of Ros's lika planis. Full of apologies and gave her prawn crackers as well. !!!
Have a good day tomorrow Jane, and watch out for "Barry Bucknall" you don't know what damage he might do :-D :-D :-D

Channel 4 at 9.00pm Frank.
I just googled my old penfriend's name. She lived in San Diego, California and I wrote to her from when she was 72 till she died aged 89 in the early 80s. I found her and her parents and records of her mother at the University of Illinois in 1884!!! Isn't the internet wonderful! :-D She was a lovely lady, never married and had horses and went trail riding till she was 84 and was still driving her little Datsun till she died. She was always rescuing cats that had been run over nearby and paying the vet's bills to get their jaws wired up!! She wrote for a magazine column when she was younger. I always thought she seemed well educated as she wrote wonderful witty letters.......so maybe she took after her mum!

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Well after a lovely day yesterday this morning is foul..................
Dull and wet and miserabl;e. It really beats me how two days can be so different.
Must tell you this as it did make me laugh.
Oh went outside for a cig last night so he turned on the outside light and immediately banged gently on the back door for me to go and look. When I went he said look is that a hedgehog on the grass?
No I said it is a dead hydranger flower......................................... but I must admit in the semi dark it could have been one.

Morning/Evening All
LOL Mel I am always peering out at the lawn thinking there is some animal or bird waiting to see if it moves. It nearly always turns out to be something like your dead flower head ,or a bot of branch from a tree.
I'm ready for the off....guess who isn't??? Chris :-S.I think it will be about half an hour. Not a pleasant morning it is very dull ,breezy and quite nippy.I have a jumper on now but am taking a thin top as I think we will have lunch out somewhere and I will swelter in a jumper.
How is that EYE this morning Frank?I hope it had cleared now.
See you all later on today.
