Just received this from Kim.

Party went off well, apart from the rain we had 30 odd people out the back under cover and they all enjoyed themselves. Too much food of course!! A few plates in my kitchen and I don't know who owns them, still someone is bound to claim them, lol.

Took me a couple of days to recover, the glands went up and lots of pain in my muscles and joints, but worth it as Keith really enjoyed himself. Must sort some photos to email, but honestly no good ones were taken and the camera didn't come out until later in the night.

Thanks for emailing, I will get back on the thread soon. Had doctor yesterday and he wants a sleep study done, meaning going to a clinic and being wired up overnight. That will be interesting, not. Take care, hope you are not snowed in. Love, Kim xxx

Yes same owl we always see. There are two of them and we have seen them flying together.

Hope our Frank is ok today and not too stiff. It sounds like he has some nasty bruises, poor fellow.

Love to Frank...... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Got a pick of robby feeding off my hand this morning but don't know if it has come out yet. Let the chickens out but the bantams won't come out of their house. The big girls were'nt too sure about it but some came out to feed.

Morning and Evening all,

Stiff as a board this morning, and bruises getting blacker. I have to go to the Drs. tomorrow afternoon, so will see what he says, I think it will get better when the bruises all come out. Had a job lying on that side in bed (It's the side I lay on) so had to try the otherside and on my back. Droped of after a while.

Hope you all got today's jokes (Mel excluded) these nearly always come from an old school friend, who still lives in Essex.

Next door has trouble with the GAS. the gas board are here now digging up the road, and I think laying new pipes into her house. What a job in weather like this.

I called on one of our elderly neighbours, who lives alone, to see if she needs anything. She has given me a list, so ros will get them when she goes to Tesc#

Still very cold here, and it looks icey underfoot.

Jane, that wasn't a bad price for Jame's car. Years ago you had to PAY them to take it away. But with the shortage of steel worldwide, I suppose scrap is worth so much more now.

Mel, What's ohs other name DAVID BAILE#. Not many people could have got that shot of the owl.

Shirl, you will have to google that song "LIKE A RUBBER BALL" you will see the meaning.

Ros is hoovering around me at the moment. We us being away since Friday to Monday. she thinks the place is dirty. !!!
She should have lived when we only had lino floors, the dust got everywhere from the coal fires and there was only the broom, and shovel.

Glad Kim is O.K. Lets hope the hospital can sort her out soon.

Ann, I miss read what you said about driving over the canal, I missed the BRIDGE part. :-D :-D :-D :-D Be carefull down on that canal path. I daren't go out, I know I would end up on my ARS# and maybe moor. !!!

NO PHOTO'S of my BUM Jane, I don't want you getting excitted <3 <3 <3

Chicken Cassarole for tonight, with mash and veg. Nice and easy. It can sit in the oven and tick away for a couple of hours. Might pop a rice pudding in the bottom of the oven, to go with her stewed plumbs.

Oh dear Frank, you do sound battered and bruised, I do hope you feel more comfortable soon; it's not only the physical battering but (at our age!!) a bad fall can really shake you up. Yes, I loved the jokes which made me laugh or say ahhhhh!! I send them onto my friend who is battling cancer and they always cheer him. Prostate cancer (now terminal) for 7 years is proving very trying espcially as the poor chap lives on his own and although he has help with shopping, it is becoming more difficult to cope; just wish I lived close and could do something more practical on the way of help, but Norfolk is a long way from Wiltshire, so I do what I can on the morale boosting front, and the jokes are just the ticket!
We didn't get much snow last night, nothing like we expected and the day is quite bright., At at last the road is clear so I can take Millie for a decent walk this afternoon, I could do with a walk too, so we should both benefit!

Frank

Frank Report 23 Jan 2013 13:15

Snow flakes getting bigger and more of them.

Liz, I am glad the jokes cheer someone up who is not weel like your friend. So difficult for you being so far away. But I know you will give all the morale support you can. Life is a Bitch. !!!

The workmen (if you can call them that) have dug up the raod and put a new gas pipe into the house, its all to do with moving the meter. She asked when the meter would be fidded. NOT our JOB. you will have to get your plumber to do that !!! We only lay the pipe. So the poor girl is at home with a baby, and no heating other than a small electric radiator. I have told her to come in here and keep warm till her plumber can get the meter fitted and the gas back on. She insists she is allright. I will have to see if she needs me to cook a meal for the family tonight. Her, her husband and two children, can't go without a hot meal this weather. I thoughjt it was suppose to be the young looking after the old, not the other way around.

Casserole all done and rice pudding ready for the oven later. Just waiting for Ros to bring home some mushrooms.

Hows things your way now Mel/David. ???

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jan 2013 13:47

Afternoon everyone,

Dull old day here ,i do think there is a bit of a thaw ,although the snow that is packed down will take a while to shift.

Ever had one of those day where you wish you hadn't started some thing ... the light bulb has blown in the extractor shower light ......so up hubby goes with the steps with me following on to hold them so they don't slip on the laminate flooring
I open the shower door because i thought it would be easier for him to get to the bulb as i open the shower door the door jumps and the bottom pin that holds the door in place comes out !!!
For some reason this pin will not hold in now ....hubby can pull it into place but when you open the door it pops out again which means the door is then holding on the pin at the top :-S

We took a trip to see the chap that deals with showers at the merchants , he told hubby that if he can get the hinge bit off the glass door he will send it off to the company to see if it can be replaced if not it will mean a whole new shower surround ,a new shower tray because its a shape they don't do any more and then we'll have to replace all the flooring too!!
I told hubby we could just take the blooming door off and just have a shower curtain would save a lot of money .

Oh and now hubby carn't get the blooming light bulb back in the light !!! :-( :-S

Oh and i was talking to sister about their car ...it is a complete right off and because of that they are not entitled to a courtesy car ,and the accident wasn't even BIL's fault !!

I'am full of the joys of spring here ... not ..... :-( :-( :-)

Yes Mandy I've had times like that when you wish you had left things alone. Usually for me it's with the cooker, take all the knobs off to give it a good clean and then they won't go back on.

The snow is melting fast here, hopefully we have seen the last of it now. The roads were really good last night when I was out delivering the ironing.

Thanks for forwarding on the photos.

Have to take the cats for their annual vacination tomorrow, MORE EXPENSE, as Frank would say, don't think I'll get much change out of £200 and they are bound to want to do more blood tests with Alfie. It's been over a year since they said about his liver and he is just fine, touch wood.

Must get my eyes tested soon, MORE EXPENSE, does anyone know if there is a set charge for lenses, or do opticians have different charges.

Hi folks, just a short note to say I can actually walk round the perimiter of our premises. Slight thaw, birds well fed and fresh water for them.

Not going out today, bit on the tired side. I'll put a film on TV from the recorder and hopefully it will be a boring one and I'll doze off ;-)

I wish members would address Shirley as Shirley. My poor old eyesight keeps thinking 'Shirl' is an expletive! - squint and take a look at it!!! No, I'm not off to Sp*csavers again!

Frank, thanks for the top up of emails, I thought the best one was on food as it used to be. I sat here nodding my head until it nearly fell off. It echoed our conversation over our meal last night.

OK, off for some nods now, I hope. TV is a big bore for me tonight, TV Awards (oh, how I hate awards programmes) and women screaming in One Born Every Minute. It sounds a bit like me when Carmel accidently grabs hold of my arthritic fingers :-D

I have just recently posted many memories on my tree at Ancestory. . . Hoping in time my grandchildren, Gt G C will read in time, learning of my childhood and starting work at age 15 years on the Railway, as a van-boy. . .Games I remember playing , ( not going into detail ) Tin Tam Tommy - He ( by hand ) also with a tennis ball , - Off Ground Touch - Cowboys and Indians - Soldiers - Kiss Chase - Hide and Seek - to mention a few. . .We collected horse manure from the horses and sold it to people with gardens ( we never had gardens ), - Collected wood and chopped it up, sold for fire-wood , - Shared our sweets or any goodies,. .WHICH WERE ON RATION AT THE TIME. . .We had gass light indoors for years, plus two out-side toilets. .A sink on the landing , shared by middle and top floor, ( only cold water of course ) - POOR but we knew no different so suppose beeing happy knowing no difference > . We had fights , plus gang fights , but we used our hands ( some-times feet ) did not use knives or guns as seems the norm in many cases now-a-days. . . Such a shame children cannot play in the streets safely now-a-days. . . :-) :-) :-)

Oh Mandy, Don't you wish you had stayed in bed this morning.. Our shower door "JUMPS" off the runner now again, but I can get a spanner and loosen the nut off, and put it back and tighten it up. With your ohs experience, I thought he would have found a way around the problem.

William just to confuse you more. HER NAME is TRACEY but we all know her as SHIRL. I think Spec Saver# is the only place for you :-D :-D :-D

Stopped snowing here for the time being.

I am so hot I am sitting here bare chested with a pair of shorts on. I can hardly breath in the heat, but madam says she's cold !!!!

Sky's not looking too good now ,i hope we're not going to get more snow .

Son came and helped hubby off with shower door and the bolt has sheared off ,hubby thinks he can fix it ,it just needs a new bolt so he'll do that tomorrow .

Changed my photo to one of little Lacey taken this afternoon ,she looked so cosy in her little all in one with the ears !! :-D :-D :-D
Her birth mark is really standing out today ,some days its quite pale and you can hardly see it , son was very cross the other day when they were in Te*co's he said this chap leant into look at Lacey and said has daddy been hitting you again !! :-S he said everyone then turned to have a look .

We're having battered Haddock with oven chips tonight ,nice and easy .
