Morning Pat,David and all and a good Evening Kim
I think all the school are shut here now.So another day of fun for all the children :-D Chris had trouble getting out of the drive, wheels spinning like crazy.James is going to clear it all again in a minute. I have rung the garage and cancelled today.I don't think they were surprised.
The birds are fed and watered, and are now stuffing themselves lol
Frank I expect you will have another day at Conrads.Better to stay put if it is too dangerous.
I'm going to get the grate cleared out and laid again. It's all very nice having this fire but all the cleaning out and dust it causes ! :-S.Quick coffee first :-D

I'M HOME. I had a very restless night and was awake by 5.30 am I just laid all wrapped up in the duvet. About 8.00 I decided I needed the loo. Jane was in the main bathroom showering. Conrad was still in his bedroon, where the en suite is, so I had to go downstairs. GOT THERE quicker than expected fell ars# over head down the Blood# lot. Bruises all down my right side from arm, shoulder, back, hip, leg. I think I also banged my head, I want to go to sleep, but Ros won't let me !!!
We set off abour 10.00 am The roads we travelled last night had been treated, and was an easy ride all the way home, It was only the local roads that are a bit iffy.
We saw a few abandoned cars on the verges, and one that had been in a heavy front end smash. It was just left there.
Conrad cleared the snow from our car with a pair of carrier bags over his slippers, He did look a whatsit LOL LOL There were a lot of cars that had only cleared a small part of their windscreen. Dangerous of What.!!!
I hope that any of you who have to go out today, do so with great caution.

Morning All,
Well we had to take the broom out at 7.30am to clear the tops of the cars before going to the garage as it was about 6 inches deep on them. Then there was solid ice underneath where the snow had frozen so we were scraping for a while too. OH never clears the drive in case someone slips on it and he is held liable. The close was very icy and has a sharp S bend so I had to be careful there, but once we got onto the busier roads it was very slushy but ok. Luckily there weren't as many cars on the road so the journey was better than usual trafficwise. There weren't many cars at the garage so they were pleased to see us. I feel sorry for smaller businesses as this snow must affect their business and they still have wages to pay. They said that they have started to see problems with bulbs on other makes of car now and think it may be to do with the bulbs themselves!!
We called in Sain*burys on the way back and did some shopping but I couldn't see any of the white lines when I parked!
OH has his meeting tonight after we pick the car up, but at least it is fairly close to the city, so unless there is more snow he should be ok. Hopefully the governors live nearby.
There is supposed to be a really good frost later in the week, so I might go to the deer park then with my camera.
More jobs now I suppose!! :-(

Oh that sounded a nasty fall Frank.....Ros was right to not let you sleep. I hope you have some embrocation in ready for treating the bruises.....you will be black and blue tomorrow!!! :-0 :-0
What a good idea of Conran's....I will try that myself!! I have worn carrier bags before when the back garden's been muddy to tread on so I didn't get it all on the clean gravel!! lol.

Have sent a couple of photos of the garden in the snow but I have a notification that Ann, Mel and Williams failed to deliver, if you didn't get it let me know and I'll try again.
Went out to clear the snow off the car, haven't been out since Thursday so it was almost buried, it's quite mild out and the road is fine so I will probably venture out this evening to get the ironing, even had a bit of sunshine earlier. Your OH is quite right Ann, about not clearing the drive. Years ago everyone would clear the paths outside their house but these days you could get sued if someone fell over.
Hope you are not feeling to battered today Frank, lucky you didn't break any bones.

Afternoon everyone,
Thanks everyone for the lovely snowy photo's ,i love seeing them all, hubby's still home today as we had a little bit more snow in the night so he thought he would give it another day to clear a bit more ,we can now see a little bit of the tarmac on the road where the cars have left a track, i thought the sun was going to shine earlier it brightened up ,but the sky is now quite a funny colour so i hope we're not in for some more !! :-S
Oh dear Frank i hope your ok after blundering down the stairs ,all this snow and ice and you have to slip on the stairs !! :-S :-) what are you like !! Seriously though i hope you don't have too many bruises and are ok it can really shake you up falling like that ,you take care now .
Ann, we couldn't see the white lines when we parked at Te*co's ,but then it was the same for everyone :-D They were saying on radio this morning that a lot of people were parking on the double yellows :-S bit of a job though if you don't know the area very well!!
Not sure if the carrier bags are a good idea ,plastic on ice !! :-S don't think you'd get much grip!!
Time for a cuppa . BBL

Mandy the carrier bags were used in the snow No ice around.
Ros bought a nice crusty loaf in M & S garage on the way home we have that with cheese, and a cupofsoup about 1.30 pm We have just been sitting around this afternoon, Ros keeps dropping off. while I am keeping myself awake !!!
Have prepared dinner for tonight. Some of the Rib eye sliced up, with onions, and gravy. Roast Pots, Parsnips, Carrots,Brussels and swede.
The girl down the road (our doctors nurse) has parked her car opposite us, as the close has a bit of a slope, she tends to do it every year. So she doesn't get stuck. Never mind anyone else who has to reverse onto the road, with her B car stuck in the way. If she gets clipped it's down to her !!!
Mel, You must have needed the sleep to stay there that long. Has oh ignored you, because he would have liked to do it also :-D :-D or because he had done all the jobs ???
The back lawn must have 6/8 inches of snow on it.
Needless to say I won't be going out tonight.

Well mandy thats just what I thought. Plastic bags on snow and ice is not a good idea. After all what so the children do when they hav'nt got a sledge, use a plastic bin liner!!
Have just been up the shop to get a few bits. I needed coffee and if we do get some snow, which I doubt, I like to have some spare. Not gone shopping today although I should have done because the roads are clear but after my sleep in I did'nt wnat to go.

Many years ago I got off a parking fine for parking on double yellows. It was a real blizzard, and had covered all the road signs and road markings. I went to a meeting and just parked up. When I came out the Traffic Walden was just about to ticket my car I took him to task over the signs and markings being covered, and he let me off, but had ticketed FIVE other cars, and just walked off. Their problem would be proving that the snow had covered the signs !!!! poor beggers.
Forcast isn't good is it ?? they say it could last another couple of weeks. Poor little birds, and short legged DOGS. !!!!

Hi folks, just emailed out some more snow photos, hope they all reach you safely. Have only been round the premises clearing the paths this morning. Took a walk along to our lock-up garage in the block but I'll need to take a broom along becore even contemplating getting the car out.
One of our neighbours called yesterday lunchtime to ask if we wanted anything from the shops but we are pretty well stocked up. Then Carmel's friend phoned and asked the same question this morning too. Nice to know people care.
We are hoping it clears a bit for the weekend as it is baby Grace's first birthday tea party on Saturday. Mum & Dad tells us she is definitely crawling now at a fast pace, so they have had to go out and buy safety gates for the stairs now. How time flies, We've told them to treasure all these days and little milestones because they are gone all too quickly.
We skipped Mr Selfridge last night as we just can't seem to get very interested in it. We watched a film with Meryl Streep instead, a bit of hokum but it was time better spent. We also can't seem to get into Dancing on Ice this series either. We record it and cut out all the time fillers, of which there seems to be more and more of. Also I can't stand Jason and that American pop star never seems to shut up either! Maybe it's just getting older but it doesn't seem to be so good now.

I still like DOI but felt the same way about Strictly William. I wonder if it's because Katerina has gone ;-) I was thinking to watch Meryl Streep but opted for Ripper Street, that just keeps getting better whereas Mr. Selfridge just gets worse.
It hasn't snowed today, still plenty of it about though, I think it will thaw out here soon.

OH is not a happy bunny......just rang from the High School and it is closed, yet other schools were open we noticed this morning. The meeting must have been cancelled but no-one bothers to let the Clerk know though!!

OH FRANK!!!!! What are we to do with you???? I bet you feel properly battered and bruised :-S :-S.Thank goodness it wasn't an ambulance job.I could have been visiting you in Kettering General :-S
Thanks Maureen and William for all your lovely pics.Yes Maureen I think Alfie nicked the best spot lol William .It is nice to see you have plenty of street lights on at night. So many around here have been turned off :-S.I'm not sure I have seen curly Icicles before lol Where is Liz not snowed in I hope.
Mel you certainly had a good sleep in this morning :-D Mandy how is Jake now? Has he been able to enjoy the snow yet?
Pat that video clip was funny and very clever lol
Who have I missed?Oh Ann and your pics !! You look like you have had about the same as us snow wise. David our bins were collected just before the snow last week. The recycling bins go out tomorrow night,so fingers crossed they are emptied on Wednesday morning. We haven't had our post since Friday, but James had a pair of Boots he had ordered arrive today .So he is really happy. My Freezer hasn't been delivered to the store yet due to the bad weather so I will have to wait a little longer for it :-S
Fiona a 10lb baby doesn't sound heavy ,but yes I know I got achy arms and sore back when Ethan was here.I found it easier to sit down and perch on the edge of the chair to rock him . Must check my roast potatoes. They probably need turning.

David our neighbour put out our bins yesterday, and yes they are still there. I think local radio said a lot of collections will be cancelled as the trucks can't get down the side roads, you should be allright Jane being where you are.
Bruises are realy showing now, The one on my bum and hip is about the size of a dinner plate. But Ros won't eat a meal off it !!! My shoulder is very sore, but no bruises yet.
There have been some great photo's on Anglia tonight on ITV,
Soaps for the next one and a half hours, so I will play cards, or look on Ebay.
I'm glad i'm not the only one getting feed up with Mr S. I went in the conservatory up Conrad's and watched part of a film while it was on. DOI I can take or leave, I can deffinitely can do without the Hair transplanted GIT and that loud mouthed American.Thank gawd the other two know what they are talking about.
