No snow here yet but the sky has darken a bit.

Fancy telling the poor little girl not to cough , i bet she( the mother ) coughs
when she wants !!

The little ones like helping don't they Fiona , i know Jake and Chelsea like too, they usually take the place mats and set the table and also help to clear away .

Just another lazy day here ,hubby having forty winks and i'am watching the movies 24 a film called Flood ,it's quite good .

F,I saw the typo as well, don't know what I meant there,I had typed snow in lower case.

Think I will buy a new key board,I can't buy a new set of fingers.
Noticing a lot of spelling mistakes lately.

Still snowing the fine stuff. It hasn't stopped all day.It almost looks to fine to settle ,but it is :-S
I have the dinner in the oven now and I stink of onions and shallots.I hate that.
So now it is time to sit and maybe see what's on the box.

I saw 2 very lovely wild rabbits this morning up the road. One was Black and the other actually looked like a tabby cat colouring. The black ones have been around for years .I imagine originally a black one or several must have let go into the wild by someone.

Plenty of the white stuff here, very fine but it is building up Our car must have over 6 inches on it, as it hasn't moved since we got here.

The Rib Eye was fantastic, it almost melted in your mouth, we have just finished off with Apple crumble and custard. Full to the brim now.

The road at the end of the close, is getting snow on it. But Ros has just said we are going to make a move for home.

Will let you know when we get home.

David, you're not alone on the spelling mistakes. I used to be good at spelling but now my mind and my fingers seem to be on different wavelengths . (Checks to see if made any mistakes ;-) ) I got a smaller L*gitech keyboard when I got this new desk so that I could tuck it away underneath to save dust and increase desk space. However, I think my fingers have got fatter!! That's my excuse anyway LOL

We are back at Conrads. The roads are so bad, we had to turn round, the main road A 605 was like an ice rink, at Uppingham FOUR LORRIES were stuck on the hill, and had been there over an hour.On our way back there were loads of traffic going towards Uppingham, but we couldn't warn them. Can't see to type as I am in the dark end of the lounge

Phew Frank.I'm glad to see you are still there.I was just going to post to say don't try getting home.It is not good conditons AT ALL :-S :-S.
James is somewhere with my car.Chris is just texting him to say either to come home very carefully or stay over at his friends.I don't think I will be taking my car in to the garage tomorrow. And the snow is still falling.
Not funny now :-|

Afternoon/Evening All,

Well, lots more of the white stuff here too. Fine and stung your cheeks earlier, now it's bigger flakes that are settling. The Blackbird keeps checking the birdfood we put out......seems to want the wholemeal bread more than the sultanas at the moment! I see your Blackbird is staying close to your birdtable William. I don't know where the little birds have gone, no sign of any today. In the city a Thrush has built a nest and laid eggs on top of a traffic light!! :-0 They think young will hatch and probably perish... poor little things. :-S

MIL phoned us (very) early on Friday and said don't call round because of the bad weather. This afternoon OH rang her to find out what days they go out so he can book a meal for FIL's bithday soon. MIL let slip that she had changed her 'hair' day last week and had gone to the hairdresser's on Friday afternoon instead, so that was the real reason she didn't want us coming on Friday! She obviously didn't want OH to know that with her recent operation, unsteadiness and osteoporosis she was going out in the snow and risking falling over!!! :-S :-|

Oh Frank, very wise, very sensible to turn back. You could be stuck for hours if any vehicles ahead have blocked the road and there will be more ice on the roads as the temperature drops. We have to get OH's car to the garage tomorrow and are dreading the mayhem on the city roads in the rush hour. We are setting off really early to hopefully miss most of it. We can get there before they open and stick the keys through the letterbox. It is in for service, but he needs the headlight doing as it will be dark when he goes to a meeting later! I just hope they get it done early before the evening rush hour.

James has just got home :-D.He got our message and looked out his friends window and got quite a shock lol so he left straight away.He said the roads are treacherous ,so there is no way on earth will I be taking my car to the garage now.I booked a courtesy car too so will have to ring as soon as they open and let them know.I bet I won't be the only person canceling

William ,thanks for your pics.Great icicles you have there.

David I remember a few years back you sent that picture of those enormous Icicles hanging from some roofs...Look out you have all the snow heading to you tonight !!!!!!

I think Chester is fed up to the back teeth and has taken to his bed lol Not a bad Idea really.

I quite like the smell of onions Jane
In the winters pasr I used to make sarnies of grated cheese and onion.
Keeps your tubes open while others coughing and spluttering.
Doesn't make you smell nice but it feeds you and you can breathe.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Jan 2013 19:25

David. There is something about onions /shallots/garlic/chillies that make my face sweat(not a good look) and my throat go all claggy( not a good sound :-S).But I don't dislike the actual smell.I never touch onions garlic etc without wearing disposable gloves lol,as I hate my skin smelling, and it lasts for days :-S :-S
I just need to get a whiff of a curry and my face breaks out in sweat.I hate it especially if I am out in a restaurant. It's the bit under my eyes that gets sweaty.I find it really embarrassing :-| :-|..It looks like I am having major Hot Flushes

:-S

Snow laying now, the car is covered again, i think hubby was hoping he could go to work tomorrow ,its not looking very likely !!

I think you did the right thing Frank turning back, we had jack knifed lorry's blocking a lot of our roads last week ,you wouldn't have wanted to be stuck behind one of them !!

A tip son gave me when i said i couldn't see to type very well with the lap top was to tilt the screen down a little so the light shines on the key board , it works well :-D :-D

I am so glad Frank and Ros have decided to stay put after a failed attempt at getting back home.

Frank if you have to stay longer than a week you can always get more pills from a local doc.

Still no snow here so we are both safe and sound but it is very cold. No breeze today and no rain either so the ground, or should I say road and patio is dry. Had to defrost the chickens water twice today. I have taken the drinker out tonight so I can get it defrosted for tomorrow morning.

Hav'nt seen Call the Midwife yet will watch it later or tomorrow on Replay. Still not sure about Mr. Selfridge. He seems a bit of a bu**er to me. I thought it was going to be more about the shop.

Hogwart had another party last night because I had'nt given him any bedding to take in his bedroom. He pulled most of the paper into his bedroom. I have put the camera on him tonight to see what time he comes out to eat his tea early.

Call the Midwife was good tonight Mel.
I feel a bit restless tonight, probably because i haven't done much today.I hope it doesn't mean a sleepless night :-S.I was reading my Kindle at 4 this morning.Kept waking up and looking out the window to see if it was snowing :-|

I just let Chester out and there are still flakes coming down.I feel ready for bed but will try and stay up a bit longer.

My errors are all mine Pat but I never used to make so many.
Why doesn't GR have a spell checker ?
I think most would welcome it.
