Afternoon All, Morning Kim,

46 degrees is way too hot for me! I remember taking a caravan to the Dordogne when they had a heatwave and it was over 40 degrees in the shade....no aircon then either. We were next to the river and had to keep paddling in to cool down.

Thanks for the links Pat and the photo. Little Mocha looks so comical enjoying himself with the snowballs.

Frank, Ros lis looking good and in my favourite fuschia colour too! I haven't seen any icicles like those around here, but our snow is about the same inches! :-D

We decided we would walk up to the village for the paper this morning so I could try out my new walking boots. :-D I looked at the box this morning before I threw it away and the price was originally £79 reduced to £28!! What a bargain. I took my own key in case it was heavy going so I could turn back if needs be! We must have looked duckies too with OH in his woolly hat and our boot socks up our legs......no backpacks though. After we got the papers we popped in the cafe and had a drink and a read of their papers before we came back. All the dogs we passed looked excited and were really loving it. When we got back I decided that the right ankle bit of the boot was catching a little and .........then I noticed......I had forgotten to put the gel heel bit in that one!!! lol.The main roads here are clear too, just the tricky bit getting up the close to the main road.

OH has hoovered the lounge and porch now while I cleared another shelf in the kitchen cupboards and then I cleared out the 2 big wide drawers underneath. I found some old raisins and sultanas and some sesame and linseeds, so the birds will appreciate those.! :-D I think we have enough pudding rice to last till the next millenium!! How did that happen? :-S Still, all the things are in order now and there are spaces here and there!

Oh that was lucky your BIL didn't damage the bits he's just had mended Mandy. It happens so easily once a car starts to slide even someone else's. It's a nuisance his van will need repair now though. Poor Jake must be under the weather if he doesn't want to join in the fun. OH says he never liked snow much as a boy.......preferred to be inside reading a book! lol. Didn't surprise me. :-)

Hi folks, hope you are staying snug and warm like us. I only went out this morning to clear the paths and to make sure I could get to the bird table. I topped that up for our feathered friends but only the blackbird would pose for me again. I did see the robin and dunnock but they stayed in the shrubs. I think they were picking up the bits the stupid pigeons had strewn around.

I know some of you like to watch Mrs Browns Boys on TV. Well, we have been watching the movie (on video!) of Agnes Brown this afternoon. Carmel's brother sent this over from Dublin for us some years ago now, it's set in 1969 Dublin but was filmed in 1999. It's the same family that Mrs Brown's Boys is based on only of course they are only young in it. Angelica Houston plays Agnes Brown, Ray Winston plays a loan shark and it takes place around parts of Dublin that we known. The culmination is Mrs Brown going to see Tom Jones at the Gaiety Theatre, which is where Carmel's sister worked at the box office, and where w'eve been to see shows. If you can find a copy on DVD or an old video from a charity shop, I can recommend it to you and you WILL enjoy it (over and over). Actually, Brendan O'Carrol who plays Mrs Brown in the comedy on TV is in the film playing Seamus the drunk. Un-named, but clearly appearing in it, is the woman that plays daughter Cathy in the TV comedy.

I've just been checking on Wikipaedia and notice that the film was 'Agnes Browne' - with an 'e'. It says that the film was actually based on Brendan O'Carrol's books, so now I've got my facts straight (a bit anyway).

Another bit of info William, a lot of the characters are Brendan O'Carrolls relations, Cathy is his wife, Bono his grandson, Maria his daughter and Winnie is his sister. There may be more. Talk about keep it in the family

excuse if i make mistakes.i am sitting in half light in the conservatory, away from "NO LIKEY" Left the other three to it !!!

Just finished an India Takeaway, will see how I am in the morning!!!!.

I think I have been there before, NO NO to Mrs Brown's boys. Unfortunatly the is so much Cra# on the Tele, I perfer not to watch any of it.

Really cold out tonight, when we went to get the takeaway.

On the way back we followed a Tesc# BIG lorry, it just pulled over on double white lines and put on his Hazzard lights, we passed it, and as we turned off the main road we saw a Police car parked on the road side. Conrad lowered my window and I informed him of the problem with the lorry. My good deed for the day.

The girls loved Las Mis, and both said they would go again !!! Not my kind of thing, I THINK. They both cryed though it. !!!

Oh what lovely photo's of Mocha and Chester. We had a black poodle PENNY. She loved the snow, and being a poodle the snow stuck to her like Sh## to a blanket. She would bite at it, roll in it, and have the time of her life. When she came to the door, it was straight into the bath, and the shower on, to thaw her out. Then into a towel and a good rub down, then the hairdryer, and a good brush. This was a daily task while the snow was about. !! In the summer we wqouyld take her to the football field up the club, and throw balls for her, she would run and skid to catch the ball, to the point she would burn the pads off her paws, and we would have to cream and bandage them up Stupid dog, couldn't wait to do it again.

I am sitting here withj a nice bottle of Red, enjoyed my time alone.

Have just been to the loo, and they are laughing their heads off over something, I opened the lounge door and sain "NO LIKEY NO LIGHTY" and "LET THJE FERRET SEE THE RABBIT" A couple of his sayings.

A few flakes of snow fluttering passed the winow at the moment, so hope it's not too much.

Morning David ,Morning all,

Oh David you don't want to much rain with the freezing weather ,will turn the roads and pavements into skating rinks if they aren't already !!

Grey here ,the sky looks full of snow ,and its so cold out there this morning with the wind !!
Just heard on the radio that the snow is just arriving in Norwich,we're listening to the Treasure Quest on the radio, only four clues this morning because of the weather and they seem to be keeping in and around Norwich in case the weather turns nasty.

We're not going out today ,will be another long day , just carn't seem to get motivated to do much in this weather !!

Hope the Indian stayed down Frank so you didn't have to spend time with your white friend in the night :-S :-) :-)

Morning all. I've just been into my email contacts address and set up a 'group' for when I email anything out to you. The only thing is, I don't know if I've covered everyone or if I've got all the address's. I think I put mine in by copying from another members email shot. Is there any yardstick for covering all the group?

Yes, Maureen, I got the family connections for the Brown family also, we watched the re-run last night of last weeks show and I was pointing them out to Carmel. Even though we watched it before, I still laughed my socks off (cold feet ).

C Y A L - light snow here now, just starting to settle on the cars. Take care and stay warm. ;-)

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Still no snow here but we did have a few flakes last night quite late before I went to bed.

The patio and road is dry so if we get any today it should settle. Dos'nt feel quite so cold out there but that could all change if the wind gets up.

Hope the Indian stayed down ok Frank and did'nt come out too quick in the night!! ;-)

Oh is off ringing and at least I don't have to worry about him getting stuck in the snow as there is'nt any but there could be in Okehampton as it is near the moor.

Enjoyed the second episode of World Without End last night on channel 4.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Jan 2013 12:42

Morning all (or afternoon should I say).
Frank it is that horrible icy tiny snow. The stuff that you can feel when it lands on your face. You should be ok going home later if it stays this way. It's miserable though.

That Rib Eye Joint is making me feel hungry.I have never cooked R E Joint, just the steaks.I am going to do my Normandy Pork today with rice (I think). It takes a good 2and a half hours to cook so it will be this evening when we eat.

I decided to pop to Tes** just in case things get worse again and mt car is going into the garage tomorrow.
There was a little girl with her Mum and the girl had a horrible cough.I heard her Mum tell her to stop coughing !!!!!!!!.The girl said 'I wasn't coughing Mum" ..Mum said " Yes you were ,I heard you" :-S :-S........For goodness sake.Fancy telling her not to cough. You can't not cough if you have one.

Now whats for lunch?

Afternoon All

No Snow here or rain but it's really cold,

just got back from taking my table runners back to the shop , and I swapped the wrong coloured ones for 2 cream ones and a gold one which will come in handy as my wallpaper has gold in it. OH says are you finished now messing about with the dinning room :-| :-| and I say all the messing about will be done when YOU have finished painting the 2 skirting boards that have not been done yet. :-P
He is outside tidying up in the garden he wants to get jobs done before the snow does get to us.

Pork for us for dinner tonight, the gang comes about 5 so then the kitchen is a mad place helping Dad/ Granddad with chopping carrots (adults) and mixing the gravy & custard (granddaughter) Sofia uses my little step to stand on and mixes anything that has to be stirred.
The 3 woman in the family stay out of the way and play with the baby, it's safer that way.
:-) :-)
