It's looking very Chrismassy here snow has settled on the pavements and the road now, not sure if I will go out to pick up ironing tonight, will wait and see how bad it gets, but it doesn't look like stopping at all.

We must have the same sense of humour Jane, I have a proper old giggle at Mrs. Brown's Boys and Miranda too but she gets a bit silly sometimes. I'm with Frank on Mr. Selfridge, will carry on watching it but his accent is going to drive me mad.

We ended up with about 3 inches, Now it's stopped, and turned really cold. The sun looks wonderfull over the back of the houses ready for sun set.

Carolyn has just called in for a cuppa and a chat, she had a great time in Tenneriffe, and is off to Florida on Thursday morning. Allright for some.

She has bought back a massive string of sea pearls, jade and crackle crystal. it must be 4 foot long, she has given it to Ros for her Jewellery, but Ros has paid her. It only cost £8.00.. Ros has just got all her jewellery making stuff out to show Carolyn. She has a case full, plus 4 plastic boxes with compartments. She has now got to start making stuff in ernest, and sell it. We just haven't got room for it all. !!!

If anyone is going out this evening, please be careful, it will be very dangerous under foot, and on the side roads.

Maureen, No way I will carry on watching it, I can find something to keep me amussed, rather than get myself in a state.

Going to get stewing meat our of the freezer, and make a big stew, which will last us a couple of days. I will pop a few dough boys on top as well.

We are off to Conrads on Friday (weather permitting) for the weekend.

Our little mechanic guy has told Ros we will need FOUR NEW TYRES and NEW FRONT DISCS AND PADS later this year.
So will have to save a few pennies, MORE EXPENSE.

There's nothing cheap these days.

Crikey Mandy ,were they wearing any harness or Helmets?? It doesn't look like it to me :-S.Slippery conditions too today.I looks like a Balaclava (not helmet)

Snow had stopped here now .I think we have had 2/3 inches....Now it will be freezing.I got James to salt the drive near the front of the house as the snow had melted under where the cars had been ,and I know it could become lethal.
Fitz has been here for the last few hours.(He has left his specs behind :-S) I think we are going to see the film Life of Pi on thursday. He wants me to go and help him start sorting through his Mothers things.Mainly clothes (of which there are cupboards and draws full)He wants to know what to send to Charity and which to bin.
I think it is all freezing up out there now so will be very dicey .

Sweet and Sour Chicken and Rice for us tonight, with Asparagus,Baby Corn and Sugar Snaps.I just need to cook the mini Chicken Fillets and then add the sauce so an easy meal :-D

Maureen

Maureen Report 14 Jan 2013 17:15

Snow has melted here too so I might venture out tonight.

Did Fitz's mother die Jane, must have missed that post.

That guy must have a good head for heights Mandy, wonder if they get paid danger money, surely he should have some kind of harness on, wouldn't look good for the church if he fell off :-S

Here I am back from shopping and worn out. It seems to get harder each week and more expensive for the same things.

Ann I have pm'd you about FreeMediaPlayer and how to get the video to play.

Mandy I would have thought health and safety would have something to say about that man on the church roof without a hard hat or harness especially in these weather conditions with the sprinkling of snow.

No snow here.............

All stocked up just incase though.

Frank what a good buy that neckless was at £8.

Well, I didn't go to Northampton with OH after all.......gippy tum cramps and a headache! :-S OH had it a bit too yesterday but he felt better by this morning. I was glad I didn't go as he set off at 7.30am and didn't get there till 9.20am, nearly an hour longer than usual, as there had been an accident on the M1. A car had crashed into the middle barrier. Fire engines, ambulances, a rescue helicopter and a 4 mile queue .

We have had quite a bit of snow and I did pop out to the paper shop and the next village earlier. Now we have loads of slush on the roads, so if it freezes tonight I think it could be really slippy with black ice tomorrow.OH's footie match tonight is cancelled and he thinks tomorrow's will be too.

I have had my sewing machine out and turned up some jeans and trousers, finished last week's necklace and done a bit more of my Robin jigsaw.

While I was out I called in the C*op and got one of their microwave in the bag swedes to try. They were reduced today to 39p as well. It is a whole swede, not chopped, ready peeled in a sealed bag and you just bung it in the microwave for 8 minutes. Then tip it in a basin and mash easily with a fork. It turned out brilliant, so I shall be getting more in future as I have it instead of potatoes (a quarter of the calories).

I shall think of you sitting in the cinema too on Thursday Jane, we are going to see Les Mis! If Fitz is throwing anything of his mum's out that has lots of beads on it save it for me please! lol. :-D

Oh I am so envious of Ros receiving those pearls and gemstones........what a bargain!! I have to get cracking too Frank. I think there will be another exhibition like the one last summer, so I shall be busy soon I think.

Mandy, sooner those chaps than me on the church roof in this weather!! It must be quite slippery.

Jane Report 14 Jan 2013 17:51

No Maureen .Fitz's Mum has rallied yet again lol.It is just the fact that she will never come home again. There is just so much stuff that she has never worn or used for donkeys years. It just makes sense now to start having a bit of a sort out.Not furniture or things like that .She is a tough old cookie.Apparently in quite high spirits yesterday.
Tomorrow she may be on a low.
Just going to put James's dinner in to heat as he is off out soon.

He had one of those furry hats with the ear flaps on, no safety hat !!

We have had a covering of snow here now ,its still coming down but only fine stuff the last time i looked out .
Toby loves it :-D he goes out jumping about like a puppy ,i'am scared he's going to pull a muscle as his back legs go all over he place :-S :-D

Oh dear Frank, you only got three inches :-( ;-) not much you can do with that :-S
You'll need a lot more if you want to make a snowman ;-) ;-)

I had my sewing machine out today too Ann, hubby went to put a pair of his every day trousers on and the back seam had gone :-S they were fine when i pressed them and put them away , i think he must have pulled a cotton on the seam ,you only have to pull one bit and the whole seam comes undone.!!
I haven't seen those Swedes ,they sound nice and easy to do, i will have to keep a look out and see if our co-op have them ,we like swede and carrot mashed together too.

LOL Ann .Fitz's Mum will only have Pearls ,diamonds etc.But if I spy anything not precious I will ask Fitz.He would be happy to pass any on I'm sure :-D

It sounds like you have had a bit of an old tummy bug Ann :-S :-S
I have never seen a whole cook in the bag swede.

Now Frank!!! what is this extra Testosterone doing ;-) ;-).Ros will be keeping an eye on you lolol, and probably steering clear :-D :-D

Annx

Annx Report 14 Jan 2013 18:40

Jane, I only meant if any old clothes with beads on being thrown out, not the jewellery box!! lol. :-0 :-0 I can remember having jumpers with beaded sleeves and wish I'd cut the beads off them now.

Yes, we thought it might be a bug, so many going around it's hard to avoid them. OH has just been for a BP check and it is borderline. He said the nurse weighed him and he got a shock as he is the heaviest he has ever been. He said he can't say it is his clothes shrinking anymore!! At least he won't be trying to tempt me when we go out now........no more puds or crackling for a while he says ! :-D

Frank

Frank Report 14 Jan 2013 18:44

Jane just a quickie, Ros and Lewis went to see that PI film. wasn't at all impressed. So you have been warned.

CHEEKY CHEEKY Many, It's not the size it's what you do with it. I could easily make a snowman from what I've got !!!! ;-) ;-)

Poor old Mel draging all that shopping around. Have you considered getting a delivery from on line. If you get the same things most weeks, it would be easy to do. Harvey sits every Friday night ordering what he wants for next weeks delivery (Thurs) He's got it off to a fine art. When there are offers that they use a lot of, he orders loads. Coming up to Christmas Baily's was on offer and he was ordering TEN at a time. I THINK THEY LIKE IT !!!

Come on Maureen, KEEP UP :-D :-D :-D I was missing for a day last week, but I am still alive !!!

Watched a bit of Australian NSPCA this afternoon, there was a sweet little kitten who had trapped it's leg, and wore through the bone. It kept trying to walk on the stump, but without success. They took the whole leg off, and it was fine. within two weeks, they had found it a new home. I WANTED IT !!!

Jane Report 14 Jan 2013 19:01

I just paid £20 to have 2 pairs of trousers taken up. :-S Maybe I should send them to Mandy and Ann in future...I'm sure you would do them for a cheaper rate lol
Looks like we may get a bit more snow(according from the forecast).Chester just went out for a wee and I could hear the snow crunching under his feet ...so it is freezing now.

Miranda and Mrs Brown tonight :-D :-D(sorry Mel ;-)
