I am glad you (Mandy and Mel) liked our video. It is brilliant having a record of the build, AND to remind us of the blue sky! The company who built it made the film and are using it for advertising purposes, so FAME, after all these years!!!! Gosh Mel, that poor lady, how awful to break her bones like that, I do feel for her. Very foggy here today, Xmas decs down and put away - have left my two late cards out till we go to bed!! don't want to tempt providence!!! Better hoover up and then get Dinner on.

Afternoon everyone What a dull day it is .We all had a sleep in this morning :-D.Then I have been out and about and have just got in.Have quickly bunged the Topside in the oven ,so it is at least on the go. Mel I don't seem to be able to see your video :-S,but Liz I managed to see yours. What a great record to have of your new home taking shape.I must say it looks lovely inside :-D
I hope the Lady who fell off her horse is going to still be mobile after her leg has mended.I can't imagine though that she will be back in the saddle for a very long time if ever :-(
Frank I could quite fancy Lamb instead of my beef.I did Lamb Steaks last night and they were as tough as old boots.I did them in a griddle pan ,but think I should have either used a frying pan or grill.
Mel the washing machine will be here tomorrow between 11 and 3 :-D :-D.It will probably take me hours to read and understand the instructions lol

Thanks Mel but it won't play !! :-(
Still misty, don't think it will clear now.
Steak pie from Te*co and veg for us tonight nice and easy to just pop in the oven later .
I sat and cut up all my christmas cards i keep the fronts for labels and there was some pretty glittery ones this year and i use the plain backs for my shopping lists.
Yesterday i noticed the young farmers had a big truck on a super market car park you could pay them £3 for charity to dispose of your old christmas tree ...the only thing was it was right next to where we have our tip !!! so you could turn left to go to the tip and dump your tree for free ....or right and pay three pounds !!! :-S :-S :-S Not many takers i noticed !!

Thanks Jane, Yes we are pretty pleased with it! Looking at that film though I find it hard to believe what we actually managed to achieve! There were one or two dicey moments which could have tipped one way or the other, whew, I think we took quite a risk! No wonder M & L were anxious! Have just taken Millie, fog's cleared and it's quite bright now, About to have dinner, so better be off!!

Oh what a dull day, makes you feel miserable as well.
Ros has something hanging from the bottom of her car. I have been down on the drive to look. What a B####y job. Could feel it, but don't know how to fix it. Will have to call in somewhere and get them to look at it. That part was easy, getting up off ones belly is such a job, with nothing to get hold of, Nearly pulled the wing mirror off, pulling myself up to my knees, then I had to get to my feet.. I got my fingers behind the bonnet flap, and pulled. Up I came and tottered down the drive to get my balance. Good job I didn't fall over !!! She also has a stop light broken, The cluster is behind a flap in the boot, I couldn't pinch the clips together to release them, it's on my right hand with no strength in it. Next doors Dad came out and did it for me. So will get a new bulb tomorrow.
These things make me feel a useless old bugg##. Jobs like that I would have eaten 10 years ago !!!
Mandy, I always put a joint in a bowl of cold water and leave it for the day, most times I do get it out the day before, but as we couldn't decide what we wanted, that what I did. It always works out fine.
Been playing Solataire again this afternoon, got out twice on the trot.
Mel, That woman will be in plaster for some time, won't she ??? Then she will need to take extra care at her age. Bones don't knit together so quickly, and she might get arthritis in the breaks. Poor woman, I suppose she has been very active all her life. Hope she gets over it soon.
Im off to Kettering in the morning with all my dirty washing, Jane can pratice with her new toy. LOL LOL Hope it spin drys well I don't want to bring home WET washing.!!! I always do my lamb steaks and shanks in the oven, with a mint powder sprinkled over them in a little stock. They seem to be more tender, and with the oven on anyway for roasts it saves energy. !!!

Mandy my Xmas cards are still in a big heap on the end of the dining table waiting for me to write the list of who I had cards from.I will get around to doing it I really will :-D,but not today lol
Hannah rang and said that John and her have found a new flat.It is in Crouch End.Hannah says it is a nice area lots of cafes , bars, restaurants etc.Alexandra Palace and Park just up the road. They will be on the first floor and there is a big patio door that opens out from the kitchen onto a kind of roof terrace( I think a flat roof on top of an extension on the ground floor flat). So somewhere to sit and put washing out. They get the keys on the 1st of Feb.So I think it will be a little trip for us on the 2nd to take all the things she has been buying and storing here :-D
Oh ,,,,this Beef is smelling goooooood.Chester has been lying on the mat in front of the oven with his nose almost touching the glass door lolol.I have cooked a chicken breast for Jess as she doesn't eat Beef :-S.Potatoes and Parsnips roasting now and the potatoes look like they are going to be the crispiest ever :-D :-D I'm hungry!!!!

Sorry Mel, I couldn't open the video either. :-(
What a busy bee I've been, the whole house is clean at last, changed the covers on the sofas and dining chairs, they look like new ones now, I've gone from blue to red, usually change to red in the winter, feels warmer.
Great photo of the woodpecker Jane and thanks for the photos Fiona, your room looks lovely and fresh, I do like that wallpaper, I tried wallpapering once, thought it would be easy :-0 that's why I have just paint on my walls, something I can redo myself without having to ask son.
I know just what you mean Frank, once you get down it's a b**ger to get back up again, it is frustrating when you have to ask for help for things you could easily do once, but I guess it comes to us all eventually, my dad always said "you can't do now what you could do 10 years ago" Now I know what he means.
There's nothing good on the tele for days then two things come on that clash, do you think Mr. Selfridge will be another The Paradise, I suppose I could always see it an hour later.
Sounds like a nice flat Hannah has found Jane, don't suppose it is cheap though, my daughter used to live in Muswell Hill before they moved to Bedford for what they sold that 3 bedroom house they bought a 5 bedroom one in Bedford.

Evening All,
Well, it's nice to be back to 'normal' again with everything packed away till next year. Well, except my little twig tree as I have 2 new extra lots of lights to put on it in the morning before it goes away. Now there is just all the dust and sparkle to clean up tomorrow.
I saw your orbs on the pic you sent Mel, it did look nice in there with your lsparkly ights on the ceiling. I couldn't open the video though. Clicking here and there I found a message that said 'A codec is required to play this file'. I think you must be too advanced for my old system now. lol
Liz, I did see your you*ube video........what a lovely keepsake to add to your FH! I bet you have to pinch yourself at times to believe it is all done now.
Frank, I know just what you mean too. I would look under my car once if I heard any scraping etc, but now I struggle. To get up I can't kneel very well so have to get on my tummy, push up with my hands and walk my feet towards my hands with my btm stuck up in the air......just like a toddler does!! :-0 It's the same when I look under the bed.
Jane, the new flat sounds nice......so they are moving in together then?? I bet she will like having all her belongings with her as well you having your space back. I hope the new W/M performs well for and that it is dry tomorrow. I'll book a slot after Frank!! lol.
DOI tonight (recorded it) and Mr Selfridge, which is supposed to be good.

Forgot to say, you got a great shot of that Woodpecker Jane.
Mandy, I saved some of my card fronts for labels too and cut some label bits off some. When OH went to the tip the other day, he said he'd never seen so many trees!!!!! It took him ages in the queue.
Back to my paperwork now. :-S

Like a BAKERS OVEN in here. I'm down to u/pants and Ros has a fleece round her. I am sitting with the door open to get a bit of cool out from the conservatory.
My left knee is throbbing like mad tonight. Must remember I can't get down on it anymore.
Watched DOI, now out of the way while that silly programme is on., with Vernon Kay. Can't stand the man. GRUMPY ME !!!
Never realy got light today, but so mild. I have just been to put the bins out for the morning. I stould put a chair out there and sit a while to cool off !!
Got to look at a couple of things on Ebay, METAL DETECTOR, and another MOWER. The metal detector will get me out a bit more, and I know a few farmers who might let me walk their fields. Being so close to Towcester (old Roman Town) there might be some bits around I know one field was suppose to hold a Roman Villa. and that's just outside Gayton. (SEE YOU WHEN I'M RICH. :-D :-D :-D Might by you a lollypop !!! only a small one <3 <3 <3
