While I've got the chance, I'd like to wish each and everyone of you on 'THE Thread', wherever you are, a Very Happy and Healthy New Year. May 2013 be kind to you and yours.

Many thanks to all of you for being such good friends and sharing your ups and downs, your 'menus', your tales of pets and babies, laughter and tear - I do so look forward to 'communing' with you all every day when I get a chance. A special thank you to Frank who keeps my email box full up with all sorts of funny stuff and puts a smile on my face. But I have to add 'Airman, get yer hair cut!!!' . :-D

Having written this in good time, I'm now going to back-track to see if I've missed any thread news. ;-)

PS.Must change my photo, people will think that's me with my hand up a woolen sheeps backside!!!

Ann i always think it could be very awkward when you see a lost child ,you want to help but you have to be very careful these days in case they think your grabbing the child and doing a runner , i think i would shout out there's a little one here who's lost his mummy !! that way you would get lots of attention .

Phew, that's it photo changed! Jane, yes I did get the email with your nephews drawing on. It was sideways but it looked excellent penmanship. Tell him, well done from me. If you'd have done it as a jpeg attatchment, I could have worked it on my photo editing prog, but hey, it's fine anyway.

Did anyone watch the Loving Miss Hatto film on TV. I thought it was totally different and when I first started watching I hadn't a clue where it was all going. Mind you, Joyce Hatto's mother was an old b*tch!
Another film we watched was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I thought maybe I wouldn't be able to keep up with it as it was in Swedish with sub titles, but in the end I was totally caught up in it. Great story telling.

I don't know about everyone else but we don't know what day it is, we are totally up the creek day wise. Carmel had to get a referal letter from our surgery so she had to ring through to see if they were open, - they were, 12.30, so we just made it. We went on to Nuneaton then and it was p**ing down rain. The traffic was horendous but we managed to find a space in the little disabled bay by Bond Gate, which meant we didn't have to stay in the queue or risk not getting in the multi story. We didn't stay out too long but we were lucky in the shops. I got a brand new shirt for £3.50 in the Acorn charity shop and Carmel got a gorgeous two piece top in the PDSA charity shop (I treated her to that) - again that was brand new. Picked up some food items and presto, home for a late lunch.

I am definitely off now after having a call from someone for nearly 2 hours!! :-S :-S.Not the most exciting call.I had to keep stressing she needs Power of Attorney (sp?) for her Mother!!!!

Yes Mandy, I thought the boy might say I was stopping him going to his mummy!! Visions of being carted off to the Police station for questioning. I was worried he might try to run out of the store into the carpark to try to find her........with cars whizzing everywhere!!

I enjoyed Loving Miss Chatto too William and wondered where it was going as well. Liz, The Girl just showed what kind of man Hitchcock was didn't it and how it was for women then. Not a nice man at all!! We are hoping to go and watch the film Quartet with Maggie Smith in this week.

I've hung out some washing in the garden!! I think that's pretty special!!!!! Lovely morning here, just about to take Millie for a brisk walk!! The sight of the sun has certainly cheered us both up!

Well her we are another year gone. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends.

It's Mum's birthday today She would have been 120 Today So you can see she had me late in life with me being only (SIXTY FIVE) lol lol.

I realy can't believe a parent loosing a child of that age. Whatever hyappened to the reins we used on our children. ???

Will. All that's under your "HAT" is your own. "Short back and Sides" if you still have enough hair.!!!

Everyone feels tickerty boo this morning. No tummy pains between us.

We took Lewis to meet his M & D last night. He was dressed as Homer Simpson. His M & D were the FLINTSTONES. I don't know what time they got home, we haven't heard from them yet today. or Conrad.

We are going down to Toddington at about 2.30/3.00 pm for dinner and the evening Conrad and Jane are coming from Rutland. So a family get together.

We sat up till passed midnight, watching the fireworks around the village. Then I went in for a read. and left Ros watching T.V.

Whatever you are doing today, ENJOY IT and don't over do it !!!

I must just say again how nice it is to have Fiona back onboard. Give those lovely grandchildren a kiss from their Fairy Godmother please.

Had a bit of a sweep outside along where we walk and oh has cleaned the pond filter out. Just having a bowl of cereal sp? and took my pills and now I am going to do some ironing after running around with the duster as the sun shows all the dust up!! :-S

O and the snowdrops in the orchard are up and some are actually out!! Daffs to are up.

I forgot to say I took my camera shopping with me the other day and at the juntion at Land Cross just outside Bideford there were a little cluster of daffs in bloom. I took a pic just to show I was'nt lying!

Afternoon everyone at the beginning of our New Year.I wonder what 2013 will bring.
My car is somewhere in town.I think outside James's friends house.Him and Jess got a Taxi home at 3.30 this morning.But now they are up I need to drive James in to pick up my car.
My dirty dusty windows are being shown up terribly by this wonderful sunshine.But they can stay dirty and dusty at least for another day lol.

Ann I have found several lost children over the years and it is always a worry as to how you deal with the situation.I found a toddler running down the pavement of a really busy rd.He had no shoes on.I stopped my car and managed to stop him running any further.Then I wondered what to do next.I didn't dare to put him in my car so opened the boot(an estate) and sat him on the edge and gave him a bag of crisps.I didn't have a phone so had to take him to a house and ask to use the phone to ring the police.The man had some toys which this little lad headed straight .The police had just had a frantic call from the Mother to say her little boy has somehow climbed out a window and had disappeared.So all ended well and they were reunited :-D...But I have a feeling that some Parenting Skills were needed with that family.

Right James is ready so off for my car now.
