Dinner all prepared Just have to wait for them to come home before I can put it on.

Mel, they are beautiful in their winter coats. But OMG can the little blighters give you a bite. Picked one up as a child, went to stroke it and wallop, it had hold of my finger.!!!!

I've just had a cuppa and a couple of mince pies. LOVERLY !!!!

Any body short ofr STILTON. I had two china jars of it, for Christmas, together with Stilton and Port, a half slab of stilton and a big wedge. !! Don't think it will travel well in the post.

The big fridge indoors is full to overflowing, with all the bits and pieces Ros thought we "Might Need"

Ann was it you who had "trouble" in the close, any news.???

Good old Shirl, Snow for Christmas, NO THROWING SNOWBALLS and Sliding down the middle of the road. on your sledge. !!! I know what a little Bugg## you can be :-D :-D :-D

The young neighbours have a full house today. Both lots of paqrents, sister and SIL: with children. He called over that he is doing GOOSE and GAMMON for dinner, I said I would be round later. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Weather hasn't picked up much today, a lot of rain but still mild. The forcast is bad for the weekend 90 mph wind and turning very wet/snow. I see the US have had it, and it usually follows that we get it. !!

You would not believe that the only time I wear my glass's is either reading or working on the computer. my eyes are fine watching T.V. even though the backgound on the pooter still plays my eyes up.

It's beed great this afternoon, I have been doing just what I want. with no one to answer too. It won't last for long :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just to add to the saga of cloths, Conrad and Jan bought me a "MENS LOUNGE SUIT" P.J. type bottoms and long sleeve top IT DOESN'T FIT> likewise a nice fleece top. They still think I am a "medium" where as I am a little larger (NOT MUCH ) keep your comments to yourself. !!

Oh dear Frank what a to do with all the lost and wrong size presents lol.Can you imagine all the upset if that happened to children ????.We are still trying to hunt one present down.It is some headphones that were for James.Heaven knows what has happened to them.He never even got them lol.

I see Pat you are still busy with visitors.Jess is coming tomorrow .I have no idea how long she will be here.I think maybe getting on for a couple of weeks :-0.Then Janice and Larry are here for the day only on Sunday.

Mandy I have never heard of that game either. Is it like Scrabbl*?

Chris keeps texting me on my new phone.I think his really just checking that I actually have it on :-| :-|

James will be a happy chappy when he gets home. His new 1phone 5 has arrived and a pair of boots that I had hoped would have been here in time for Xmas(from Spain)Fingers crossed the fit :-D :-D :-D
Mel have you sent any pics as I haven't had any through. It seems that you and Shirl have trouble with me :-S

Just had a mini marathon ironing session.I was just doing the lot that came back last night and the doorbell rand it was Hugo with the bag he took last night.I think as I have run out of hangers now and can't be bothered to go and hunt out more I will leave the rest until tomorrow.I have it hanging and draped all over the room ,so better go and get it all upstairs.

Have been catching up with a lot of your posts since getting back from daughters. Good to see everyone had a great Christmas with no great disasters. Took me a lot longer than usual to get to Bedford, an accident on the A1 and driving along the embankment I could see the river had overflowed, I have never seen it that high.

We always have goose on Christmas day with all the timmings, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, roast pots and parsnips and of course sprouts but we don't eat until about 7, as we have brunch midday, cold meats and pie and all sorts of pickles and mustards with bread, washed down with champagne. Yesterday the rest of the family came up. Chloe looked really cute in her Christmas outfit and Harry had lots of fun chasing after Finley, daughter took some photos so must get her to e.mail them to me.

Haven't watched any TV at all so have missed Call the Midwife and Downton as I don't have a recorder, doesn't sound like I've missed much. A puzzle sounds a good idea Jane, we played Trivial Pursuit after christmas dinner but we were all so tired by then we let Son-i-l win just so we could go to bed :-D. Another game that comes out at Christmas is Pitt, it's a card game, it can get very noisy.

I was packed a couple of 'doggie' bags to bring home so have plenty to eat for the next couple of days. Naughty daughter put in a Panettone just when I thought it's back to the salads ;-)

Jane Report 28 Dec 2012 17:58

Maureen there is another Panettone here ..you are welcome to that too :-D.The amount of food in my 2 fridges is disgraceful. So much for not going OTT this Xmas.
I can't find anything I'm looking for as they are still both stuffed.
Glad you had a lovely Xmas too Maureen.

I thought just now it might be worth chasing up the Cheque that I'm waiting for(insurance) seeing how the Voucher was still not done last night. And what do `i hear when I ring..........."oh I can see it in the system but it hasn't been authorised yet"So altogether I am still waiting for £1200 !!!!!!!!!!!!!......I think it is so bad that they can't pull their fingers out and get money to customers who pay an arm and a leg for insurance without us having to keep chasing them. That is my grumble for today :-D

The Christmas Tree looks like it has a bit of a tilt to the right.I need to put more water in the base but think I will wait until someone is home.I had to do that the other day :-S,but don't think the clamps were tightened :-S

James has just arrived so I will see what these boots are like.I just hope they fit :-D

There's another Panettone here too Maureen , think i might make a Bread and butter pud with it tomorrow, it will be a bit on the dry side by now i think.
We have not touched any of the cheeses i bought ,or any salad stuff either !!

Shirl have sent Mel's photo on and have sent you Shirls photo's Jane, although i thought they went through really quick so you'll have to see if you've got them or not.

No the game is not like scrabble ,here's how you play it.

The game consists of 144 lettered tiles that are placed face down on the playing surface. The same number of tiles are drawn by each player, and at any player's call of "Split!", all players turn over their tiles to reveal the lettered sides. Each player begins arranging the letters to form words, which must be connected in intersecting or interlocking manner (i.e. word-tiles are not isolated, at least not before the first "Peel!"). When a player uses up all of his tiles, he calls out "Peel!," and each player must draw a new tile from the pool of remaining tiles, called the "bunch."
If at any time during play, one has a letter or letters that he does not wish to fit into his or her word arrangement, he can announce "Dump!" and exchange any letter for three tiles from the "bunch".
Play continues with players announcing "Peel!" when they again fit all their tiles into their crossword-style word arrangements until there are not enough remaining tiles in the "bunch" for all players to take one; at this point, the first player to have placed all of his or her tiles into her word grid calls out "Bananas!" and is declared the winner if all of his or her words are valid upon inspection.

Stopped raining here at last !!

The Boots don't fit :-S :-S :-S

Oh Shirl the mind boggles lol.No sledge? Don't fall and do a hip :-S
I hope your son's cold doesn't drag on.I have seen so many people around here the last few days with the most horrendous chesty coughs :-S

Oh I see Mandy has sent me your snowy pics.........Crikey you have got a lot!!!!!.Is it forecast more for you? Or is that it for now?
We tend to get our snow around Jan/Feb..The wind is really blowing out there now.Hopefully it will blow any rain away so reduce the risk of any more flooding.I drove through a totally flooded road this morning (on the way to Beckworth Emporium )

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Dec 2012 23:20

I am sorry about the pics not geting through to some of you but I don't know what I can do about it.

Shirl you want to be carefull what you do with your Panettone! you don't want it to fall off ;-) ;-) ;-)

We have also seen a rat in the back garden this evening so the bait box will be coming out tomorrow. They have got in the latest pond (the puddle) garden bit and are running along the wood edging to my pond.

Not set the camera up tonight. Was hoping it could go outside tonight but oh said it was going to be wet and very windy and he was'nt wrong. It sounds like the roof lifts now and then. You hear it creak.

Annx Report 29 Dec 2012 00:20

Just popping in ......see there has been lots of chat! :-)

Shirl, that is quite a layer of snow you have so take care won't you.....we don't want you sliding down the hills on your BTM ............showing next week's washing!!!!! :-0 ;-) ;-) Mind you it sounds too cold for going outside.....just stick to looking out the window!!

Frank, what a time you've had with presents. I know just how it is though as I forgot where I had put a book I'd got for OH........had to turn out all the drawers etc ........even scratting under the bed with a coathanger!! I did find it just in time though. I did have a chuckle at the thought of your slippers flying off the roof as you set off!! :-D It's something Mr Bean would have done! lol. Whatever next. :-0 We haven't seen anyone to ask what happened up the close yet.....not seen any vehicles there since.

Maureen, yes, we were saying it's back to salads soon when we were tucking in today! OH was showing me his newly aquired 'muffintop' and said he needs to go to We*ghtwatchers!! lol. I threw a bit of pork pie away today, but the sausage rolls and desserts are still in the freezer. We don't fancy them yet while we are still eating the rest.

I have ended up with specs from Bo*ts as they had the only frames I liked. I think I will need a mortgage to pay for them, nearly £300 even with 25% off for being an old codger!! No special tints or extra thin lenses either and no sunglasses thrown in like Sp*csavers. They'd better be good......I hope I'll be able to see dust mites at 50 feet at that price. :-S

That was good seeing Stoats Mel........they will keep the bunny numbers down! I have never seen one really close up, they are so quick too.I have asked Jane to try an 'experiment' to see if she can open one of your photos. That is a lovely little wand your OH made for you.......he is doing well with his turning.

I've not heard of that game either Mandy.....it sounds good!

I hope they get your cheque out to you now Jane.......it's been a long wait.

It's really windy here now, OH is off to Chester with his mates to 2 matches tomorrow. I wish it had been better weather as he could have dropped me off. Mind you, in the morning they have to see if the pitches aren't too waterlogged for play......might be cancelled.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Dec 2012 10:17

Morning all and evening Kim,

Wet here after a very wet and windy night.

If everywhere has had as much rain as we have had there won't be any matches played today.

Hope Jane has'nt had too much rain...........
