Now that's a good idea Jane ,the scratch cards :-D i'am doing those little favour bags for everyone at christmas lunch, they had some pretty bags in Te*co's ,and i've been collecting all sorts to put in for the little ones ,got spinning tops and jumping frogs to go in i thought it might keep them amused for a while at the table and some smelly things for DIL it was the men i;ve been stuck for, so the cards are a good idea.

Been looking for some of those little bottle of drink miniatures ,carn't seem to find them any where .

Hello everyone, just thought I would touch base and let you know what we've been up to today. Not so bad here, milder, sunny spells with just some titchy showers. We left here about 11.30am or so and had a nice drive as far as Daventry, always a nice run into Northamptonshire. Pity half the fields were waterlogged, never mind, the roads were OK. We had a nice ramble round and I was going to take a photo of Santa on his sleigh. It was a trailer towed behind a tractor and was raising money for the Round Table Christmas charity. As we walked from the car park I could see Santa doing a dance to the music and thought I'll take a snap when we come out of this (first) charity shop. By the time we came out, the tractor was hitched up, fired up and off went Santa before I could get my photo! Lends credence to the old maxim, 'do it NOW'! So we rambled around, made a few purchases, a good one was 'buy one for £1.99 and get one free' on boxed amarylis and/or 3 set hyacinths, can't be bad. So we had a box of each. Then, as the worms nibbled at my tummy, we headed for our usual eatery. A nice friendly cafe that does anything and everything. We had 2 OAP dinners & a cuppa for £2.95 each, and not small portions either. In fact I took the cutlery back because it wasn't as clean as I would like it to be, so the gaffer brought out my beef dinner plus 3 veg, new spuds, yorkshire and gravy. Carmel had the last protion of steak and ale pie.
I took a photo before the dark set in. I like to take pictures of anything with 'William' in it, and there is a passageway there (I think it was an entry for stage coaches in the old days of coaching inns as it's next to what was a pub. Anyway, it's called 'Prince William Court' - so it's now in my William gallery.
We drove back as dark was setting in, but it's nice to pass through villages when the Christmas decorations are all lit up.

Carmel is having a rest now, there's fruited scones out for later (with cream) then we can watch Strictly together to round off the day.

Hi all,
I am just off to bed. After getting showered this morning I sat all day in the arm chair. My stomach is making so much noise, it sounds like a jet plane going over.
My poor little white frien has been so busy, Gawd knows how much water I have used flushing the loo.!!! I have used a packet of Imodi## and had one glass of water all day. I hope it's not this winter bug.

You certainly had a nice day out William, good to get Carmel from the FOUR WALLS. and to get a lunch for that price is great.

My old cat loved to get under the tree, and flick the baubles. I still see him coming out of the kitchen, into the lounge.

Was looking on Ebay for toy poodles, just to see the prices. Some puppies are £450. 00 I must stop wanting a dog/cat. In fact I have pulled out of this dog minding thingy. We must do 60 days a year, can't always know if we would be here. If we don't do our 60 days we have to repay a portion of the licence.

Hope you find what you need Jane, How long before the voucher arrives.???

Yes Shirl, I must restrain myself from these spicey meals, BUT I DO LIKE THEM !!!

The Chinese on Saturday, will be more in my style. but it can be a bit plain.

Well i'm off, goodnight all.

Frank, one early bird to another (maybe not as early as you) I am so sorry to hear you had a bad night and were poorly. Have you any peppermint cordial in the house? Some warm water with that in can settle a stomach. I hope you feel better soon, it's not like you - and I know you so enjoy your food.

Afternoon All,

Poor you Frank you were up EARLY!! Hopefully it has cleared your system now. Makes you feel weak and wobbly though. The sips of water are a good idea.

I can remember buying those miniatures years ago. I think I used to save the little bottles once......all gone now though. It is a good idea for the favour bags for the chaps.

I am shattered now, back, knees and feet all ache. OH is much the same with his back. The decs are done, the food is all ready, the table dec finished and table all set ready for MIL and FIL this afternoon. Now I just have to shower and find something to wear :-S Oh, better put the crackers out!!!

CYAL as William would say.

Afternoon everyone,

Been lovely and sunny here today ,we had a trip to the coast ,the sea looked cold and grey ,not many people about i expect they were all christmas shopping !!

The old pheasants were about today ,they just wander across the road ,two came across in front of the car the first one i think i just caught his wing poor thing but the second one flew off , all the way home i thought there's bound to be a third one ,but we didn't see any more .
You are right about the blinding sun Jane !! got dazzled coming home .

Mel, Ann uprighted the snowman for me :-D
Will have a look for the mimiatues at the ciggy counter thanks.

Frank, do you think you ache because your tablets went through you ? or perhaps its because they don't work well on an empty tum or something anyway hope you soon feel better ,loved the dawn photo .

We've had hail showers and rain and then sun today. Now it is getting dark and dull.

Had a good hoover through while oh was out ringing and I could make as much noise as I liked!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Put a few more decs up but can't find my lovely gold wire baubles with the holly leaves on that I usually hang in the window of the kitchen. I did'nt have them last year either. Must be up in the loft. I also wanted the fir garland down from the loft that used to go over the fireplace in the lounge for the windowsill in the kitchen. May have to just make a real one if I get time.
