Am I the only one who doesn't like soup, it smells like BO to me :-0
I find it really hard to understand women who not just can't be bothered with their children but are actually cruel, perhaps they experienced that as children too, it gets to be a cycle. I had very loving and caring parents, it didn't stop me praying for new parents though, when I couldn't have my own way. Never liked Sunday School but was made to go, M & D wanted a bit of peace for one afternoon at least. Think I was a bit spoilt as a child, a right little madam :-0.
Thank you William for the e.card, very humbling to see wonderful things that can be created from people with disabilities.
You have some lovely neighbours Jane, mind you if you lived near here you could have the use of my freezer it will be practically empty as I'll be at daughters christmas week.

Afternoon All,
Well we have all been 'busy'! Mandy, you can add me to the list this time.....I never got Liz's ecard either.
I had to scrape the car this morning before I went to the opticians . I parked in my favourite wide spot as it was early, then realised that 'Dinky Donuts' had put their trailer on the pavement next to me. I decided to move elswhere before they opened for business and the queue was sitting on my bumpers! As I thought....NEW SPECS!! I need adjustment for close work. I will go and have a look at Sp*csavers glasses at Nuneaton tomorrow......they usually give discounts for the over 60s and their deals seem better too. I have looked at on line specs before and wondered whether to try them.......they are much cheaper. :-S That sound like a good service David.
We got whirring today and I have sorted the kitchen and garage freezers out and vowed yet again to EAT all the things in there.......some stuff was 2 years old!! lol. :-0 It was bin day today, so it was a good time to do it as the stuff was gone before it even defrosted. Now the empty plastic containers are in the dishwasher....another load waiting as well. Washing machine is on too, but no chance of things drying outside!
The tree and decs are down from the loft. I have hoovered the settees, moved them to hoover underneath and cleaned the mirrors. The rest will be done after the tree is decorated as doing that will make more mess.
Now I am sitting doing 'to do' lists!! lol One for shopping, one for jobs! It looks awful outside, can hardly see up the close with the fog so I'm glad OH is in tonight. He has a chesty cough and is flagging now but felt a bit better today.
I've given SOUP a miss today!!! LOL. I agree about the Sains* Turkey dinner Frank. It is very poor this year at ours too. We said we wouldn't bother again.......schools dinners is a good description Jane!!
I hope you can get your white goods in and fixed up soon...........I would find it very stressful being without them at this time of year !!!

Nothing arrived here either Liz :-S Well I got to Tesc) and back without driving into a hedge.Couldn't see a blooming thing coming down our road. There are no lights either which doesn't help.
Maureen ,I lent my neighbours a spare fridge(it was Hannah's that ended up here when she left the house). They need more space for when they had their Golden Wedding Party. It's good to be able to help each other out when needed. I just bought my Gammon and stuffing things for Xmas.So I reckon the little freezer will be ready for me to put them in tonight.
I have waited all day for some parcel that had to be signed for .Was told it would be here by 11.30....No sign of it.Chris had a text to say it was on its way.I wonder what happened to it :-S.I am hoping for a delivery of logs as well this week.I'm going through the ones we have pretty quickly at the moment.
Chicken Breasts, with Mushrooms ,Rashers of Pancetta,Parmentier Potaoes, and green beans, asparagus. I do love Asparagus...but boy don't you know you have eaten it when you have a wee :-S :-S

Ooh Mandy ,don't mention BO.There is a young lad who works behind the counter at the garage at the top of the road.He has a real problem. It is so strong it almost makes my eyes water.James mentioned it too yesterday.I'm wondering about somehow putting in an anonymous comment and recommendation that something is done.I have smelled many people with BO .But this one really takes the biscuit.I wouldn't want to offend but I know if I see him working there I will go to another garage.
What kind of soup smells like BO Maureen???

Maybe Mandy can try and forward the card Liz to me.Then you don't need to try again.
The fact that Chris had a text this morning to say parcel would be here by 11 is a bit annoying. They could have text gain to say if there was a problem :-S
Well no Asparagus for us now.It had gone off and stank like fish.Yuk Yuk !
Good idea Frank to give the F&C van a miss ;-)Not sure about that Indian either. You often get a Gyppy tum with them too.

Hi again - yes the washing did end up on the clothes airer. I think it came in wetter than when it went out!
Lizy, your email about the aprons reminded my of when I was a boy. Mum always wore her 'pinnie' and as I went past as she was working in the kitchen I would grab the end of the tie and pull it as I went causing it to come undone. She would just laugh and say "you cheeky monkey", bless her. Happy days.
There is always talk of food on here and if one hasn't eaten they'll soon get an appetite if they read this thread. However last night I ruined the pizza! Carmel was having a rest and I thought I put the built-in oven on and set the timer. Then I phoned my brother-in-law and when Carmel came into the kitchen while I was on the phone, she looked in the oven and shrugged. I'd switched the grill on by mistake and it had been like that for nearly half an hour. The pizza was ruined, baked to b****ry and we had to resort to tinned rice. So it's not just soup that can go wrong Ann... :-(
The fog has persisted all day here and the TV forecast isn't very good as you've no doubt seen. I think I'll put the oil heater in the hallway tonight, that keeps the chill of the place all night without running up a massive bill.

Did Tetbury this afternoon after all as I think tomorrow wil be even foggier. I have done my presents except SIL - any ideas? I'll have to think of something!!! If anyone can forward a card, that would be great. William, when I was young we always had two or three cats, and one of them in particular used to sit on a kitchen chair and put its paw through the bars and dab at my mother's apron tie when she was washing up or whatever,, eventually he would untie the pull and down went the apron, much to my and my father's amusement! As you say, happy days.

What a filthy day it has been.Foggy and freezing.I washed my Table Runner (the Xmas one) and hung it out on the line(wishful thinking.)It was almost frozen within an hour :-S. Just waiting for my sister to ring me before we eat.I hope she rings soon as we are pretty hungry.I might just have to dish up Chris's first.

HOLBY TIME AGAIN. I have been reading the postings, hence i'm late on here.
Can't think that putting washing out today was a good idea. Freezing fog all day long. It has lifted a bit tonight.
The F & C van was late tonight, ans was onlt in the close for five minutes. I bet people thought he wasn't coming, so cooked themselves something.
The room is like a bake house ;-) ;-) Here I sit stripped to the waist, with a pint of ice cold coke at hand. !! Madam is just comfortable, she's a right cold little mortal. (thats another old saying from days gone by)
I prepared, cooked and washed and dried up tonight. Do I get Bownnie points ???
Jane, when you gets your new white goods, remember to look after them. The insurance Company don't own CURR#S lol lol
Ros collected the repeats this afternoon, and made an appointment for me to see the Doctor. 18th Dec. and if she wants to see "HER" Doctor it's the new year She has a lump coming up under the area that she had the abscess after the road accident. If I am awake at 8.00am I will ring to get her an appointment tomorrow. She can't leave this..
I like a tin of soup for lunchtime, but better still is a good old beef stew, with every root vegetable plus a tin of Oxtail and Tomato soup, let it simmer for a few hours, and away you go. With a few pieces of bread, dinner fir for a king. and it's great the next day. If there is any over I freeze it for another day.
I see Liz is having my trouble with the cards. Shirl managed to pass on mine, so she might do yours as well Liz.
If there is something I can't stand it's B. O. There is no reason for it. A bit of soap and water and JOBS DONE. It's pure laziness on behalf of the person, and why on earth doesn't the Mother mention it to him. A fried of mine had such bad B.O. then I found he only bathed once a week. (Dirty sod) during the week.. and never washed himself down every day. NO WONDER HE STANK. and his wife was so prime and propper.
Well Ebay is calling. Sleep tight all, see you in the morning.

Got it Mandy.Thankyou.....and thankyou Liz :-) :-).It is lovely. Frank I always look after my things .It's flipping nature and bad luck that ruins everything here lolol. The young man who came today said,he saw the address he was coming to and wondered what on earth had happened now.(he came before when we had the big leak).I showed him the photos of the flooded garage ,and he said ,no wonder all the white goods failed the electric test lol.He also said how different it looks here since the last time he was here when we had no floors or wallpaper etc.We wished each other a Merry Christmas an said we wish we never see each other again :-D.I think he felt quite sorry for us after all that has happened.
Chris has had a Christmas Card from a patient today. It is in Ukrainian and we have no idea how to translate the verse :-S.Anyone speak Ukrainian???
