Afternoon All,
Hear, hear Mel, and as soon as you reach the end of it you need to do it all again! :-S Roll on Spring so we can spend more time outdoors! I thought of you and your wreaths when I went to the farm shop this morning.....they were charging £9.95 for quite small ones that had a few flowers on. It was BITTERLY cold in there, the poor girl serving had 2 thick fleeces on, hat, scarf and fingerless gloves. Still, I suppose it keeps the food nice and fresh. As well as veg I got some strawberries and cream shortbread to take to our last class before Christmas tomorrow.
Well done William! It looks a very interesting hobby and lucky you having a 'den'. I wish we had another spare room at times, so we could both have a 'den'. lol I have a few model cars in the loft. I think I have 3-4 little old vans in different liveries........seem to remember sending off for them. I also have a bigger model of a Jaguar XK120......as a teenager I had a friend who had a full sized one and I loved it. I did once intend getting models of all the cars I had in the past but the car I had at the time was a Renault Cabriolet that I had nothing but trouble with and the garage had it as much as me the first 12 months so I decided I didn't want reminders of it!! As a child when I had lots of small plastic horses I remember having a brown D*nky Horsebox that you could let down the back on. OH has some of his childhood D*nky cars in the loft too I think. It would be nice to see some of your other models.
Frank, what's this about you pulling rank on William!! lol. Maybe the Guard Room wouldn't be so good then. :-S Many thanks for your pretty E-Card......it and the words are lovely. <3 :-D <3 I remember you scrapping with the sellotape last year too.......I think Mandy's idea is great and would look lovely with matching coloured tissue paper to go with the bag. I think it would look very professional.....as if you had put some thought into doing something different.
I bet your hubby is glad not to be freezing outside today Mandy. I think we are getting our decs down this weekend, then it will be 'all systems go'. Where did that saying come from I wonder? How is your throat today? OH's is not too bad, but he's having a rest now before he goes out clerking tonight......sooner him than me in these temperatures.
Now I'd better get on and do some cards for my beading friends.

Evening all..
I hope you are ok..Lucky escape for baby Williams dad.
I came back from Norfolk tuesday afternoon..We were lucky with the weather plenty of sunshine but very cold...One day we walked along Hunstanton beach th next day along Holkam beach.
Did the church cemetary at south creake where my husbands ancestors were from..didnt find any bearing the names we were after. But did come acrross plenty of names that I reconized from doing my tree.
Sat night just by chance we drove into Wells...the road by the harbour was closed off they were having their christmas fair..The main side street had extra stalls some selling mulled wine...Another we drove across to Holt as my neighbour said the christmas lights there are very good...which they were.

Afternoon all,
Busy busy busy. You lot never seem to sit still fot a moment. All i've done is dose, read, and watch "EDEN" I love all those nature programmes, with David Attenborough.
Glad you had a nice few days away Pat. Was the sea rough ?? or just a gentle swell. ??
Will that's some collection 1500 cars etc. I must admit I have never been interested in collecting, having never had toys as a child, I had no incentive to go in for anything. My fried John has an "N" guage railway working model in the cellar. I have yet to go round and see them. He also has 4 or 5 scale model steam trains, that he can "JACK" up and push in to his Range Rover and take to a local track and drive around with people on the back. He has his railway cap, and whistle. The total cost of which I wouldn't like to imagine
I was almost run over by one of those XK 120s. a very rich (to me they were) family lived in Chigwell and the sons drove them. They always seemed to be Piss## when driving them. I was walking home one evening towards the traffic, and this Monkey mounted the pavement, I had to jump into a shop doorway, otherwise I would have been run down. When I reported it to the police, they said oh you're hurt then. This would have been 55/58 years ago.
Ros has done leek pie for tonight, It smells about done,so i'll be off.

William what a fantastic collection :-D :-D.How long have you been doing this? Well done on getting 1st Prize :-D :-D :-D
I am just waiting for my laundry to come back and then I must ring Janice and see how Michel is .I keep thing what an unbelievably lucky escape he had.Little William could have been an Orphan :-( :-(
Ann I worry now when I hear it is the last class before Christmas.I have never been so behind at this time in December, and realise it is creeping up too quickly now.Still no big freezer to store lots of goodies etc in. The man from Rainbow came while I was out and Chris said he will be back next Tuesday to hopefully give us the 'All Dry'.We are at 20% and need to be at 17% or less. I had a quick look at washing machines in Curr** and am quite shocked to see how things have moved on since I had mine.Settings for Shoes !!!! .Baby Clothes!! all sorts of different settings.I came away with my mind boggled lol
Laundry has arrived :-D What a brilliant service. He has taken a pair of Chris's trousers to have a new zip put in.I said I would pick them up next week .He said No No I will bring them back tomorrow night.I will certainly recommend them to all my friends. Now I will ring Janice.

Sorry guys n gals. Looks like you'll have to wait a while to look at some more of my stuff. My email service seems to have caught out by the weather, I can't get on it at the moment. I'll send some more out as soon as I can. I've got one or two items that I think will amuse you.
Jane, I've been collecting since the early 70's. I used to be careful what I collected, ie; historic cars, but like my Dad, I'm a bit of a Magpie. One thing lead to anothr, one theme merged with another. And for Ann, I've got all the buses and vans that were issued by Leicester Mercury. As well as that, some folks have learnt of my interest and have donated things to me, which I'm always appreciative of. I've even got a little plaque here in the den so mark that too.

Chris went to Cambridge this morning to do his Christmas shopping. He said he had to stop and put his bags down so he could loosen the scarf around his neck as he was nearly being strangled, when a young lady came up to him and said "You look local I would like to invite you to the over 60's Christmas Party (somewhere) next Friday" Well Chris said his jaw dropped lol He isn't 60 until next month .....I told him he was looking old :-D Oh Frank Leek pie!.That sounds lovely ,but I couldn't eat that as it certainly wouldn't agree with my tummy.I would be on the white friend all night :-S
I think I might buy our Christmas Tree this weekend.James will be here to come with me.It has always been us 2 that get the tree.We always have an argument as to which one to get.I think they are more expensive this year so it won't be a big one.Fitz has got his ,but he said it is not as tall as last years as there were no really tall ones available..But I'm sure his will still look stunning ,as always. His job is to put all the lights on and then Georgette(his OH) does the decorating. Meatballs and Spaghetti for us tonight :-D

Jane, I'm all behind too!! ( :-0 :-S). I seem to be lacking the ooooomph that I used to have! I have to get lots done next week though as MIL and FIL will be coming for tea and I want the house decorated by then. My washing machine has a 'shoes' programme......never used it though. I was hoping to get a simpler machine when this one bites the dust, but it sounds like they are all becoming the same.
Poor Chris, it is quite sobering when you realise people don't think you are young anymore! Still, no-one is going to think he is pregnant like happened to me a couple of years ago!!!! I didn't know whether to be shocked I looked that fat.....or flattered she thought I was young enough to be 'with child'!!! lol.
Pat it sounds like you had a nice time away in Norfolk. The Charity shops round here have their decs up and lots of Xmas stuff for sale. I have seen lots of fancy candles and sets of christmassy tea lights. I am still wondering whether to get a small fishtank.......are yours all doing well now?
William, I suspect that may be where I got my little vans! I may be able to recognise them when I see yours! :-D
I had leeks today Frank, luv em. I had cauli, brocc, carrots and some nice January King cabbage with the purply leaves. They were massive at the farm shop, big as footballs, but only 79p. I meant to say a few weeks ago that they had some of those wet walnuts, but I've never tried them. How is the taste different to the 'dry' ones?

I can't believe you haven't received my Ecard. I sent them all together from my list on the site. Are you sure you haven't deleted it in error ??? If you still haven't received them by tomorrow. I will resend. The last thing I would do is leave my GIRLS out.
Will. That's a stunning collection I can see how it took 40 odd years to collect. You must be very proud to get donations from all over, and the prizes you win.
I bet Chris was right cheesed off with that invitation, I know I would have been :-D :-D :-D
See you in the morning.

Went to T#sco Bedlington yesterday afternoon.Appalling weather. Had problems driving away from the back of the bungalow as its on a slope. Bought 2 sacks of rock salt while I was out. On returning I twice nearly reversed into the bungalow its so slippy. Have to get that salt down this morning.
