Hark at you Jane, "ALL COCKERNEY " I would never adam and eve it. being a Country girl. :-D :-D
Watching the Arsenal match for an hour or so, while Holby is on.
Steak pie was very nice, but someone needs to learn to make pastry. !!! Plenty of lean tender beef though.
Yes Liz, My twin and I had ours out at about 4/5 years old. I always remember they gave us a spoonfull of "JAM" like stuff. That tasted horrible. before the operation. I never did know what it was for. But I can't think your L needs them now !!! "GET THEM OUT" tonsils I mean <3 <3 <3.
Where's our Ann this evening, not like her to be absent, Who signed her note, not to be here.????
Had a load of post this morning. most were begging letters from charity's and the rest was junk mail. I don't think anyone writes letters anymore.
Ros had to do my tablets this evening, she does a month at a time in those little "morning evening" box's, They are kept in a draw two high and two deep. She went to get my evening tablets out, and noticed that it was the last box, rubbish I said, look at the two at the back. THEY were empty. I can't believe a month has gone by so quickly. That means we will have to do the repeats again. SO SOON. !!! Where does the time go.
Jane, I hope James finds something in the New Year. It must be very depressing not knowing if and when you are going to be in work again. Tell him to keep his chin up. :-) :-)
Well all quiet on the western front, not a word has been mentioned. But I am getting Emails from letting companies about accomodation, so will have to inform them I am not homeless YET !!!!

All present and correct Frank! :-D lol. OH has 10 meetings to write up so I haven't had much of a look in on here. It looks like he will still be clerking next year as one of the others is looking to take over providing a service and possibly pay more to the clerks!!! OH had thought about it himself, but didn't fancy putting in all the time it would need.......he very much likes the free time he has now.
Your Christmas decs all look an absolute treat......as usual you are miles ahead of me with mine still in the loft. lol. I hope the outdoor ones all work ok and that you are careful with the steps tomorrow!!!
Our evening with Michael Portillo was very good. He split it between his political life and the Railway Journeys. He was just as relaxed as he is on TV, spoke all night without a break and without any notes. Very tactful and sensitive in answering questions and had quite a few amusing annecdotes. Quite a gentleman. He said there will be another British Railway series and there will be more of the Continental ones. :-D
I'm looking forward to a trip to the cinema down the road tomorrow afternoon to see Great Expectations.

I buy my pastry Frank .That ready to roll one.Even the top chefs say it is sometimes better than home made. I think it is going to be a cold day tomorrow and maybe very icy in the morning :-S I have laid the fire ready for tomorrow as I know the heating will be off while the boiler is being sorted and the garage door will be wide open during that time so all the cold air will be rushing in.Brrrrr :-| My washing is all bagged up and ready to be collected tomorrow evening.Have cleared the deck of all ironing ready for the onslaught of all laundry coming back .That will be one heck of an ironing session for me :-S :-S
I think I will be off to bed shortly .I feel I'm fading. See you all tomorrow xx

Sounds like Chester will need his little coat on tomorrow as well as you Jane with all the draught there will be! Lets hope this will be the end of the 'L'. They had floods in the city here today.....water main burst!! :-S
Mel, it sounds like there is quite a bit of work in making the wreaths. Do you ever see them on people's door when you drive about?
Mandy sounds like an early night will do her good. Hope her voice is better tomorrow.
I still have my tonsils etc. I had awful tonsilitis as a child and the doctor said they should come out, but mum refused. I hate it when you get that nasty taste from them when they are inflamed.
Think I will be off to bed now......OH should be back from the match soon........nightie, night. <3

Here I am, Went to bed at 11 pm read for a while, but could not settle down to sleep, Ros has just gone in, as I came out. I will spend a couple of hours looking round the Family tree and Hot Matches. See what skeletons I can turn up.
Glad to see you on parade Ann, Next time get your pass signed by William ot I, or you will be reported as AWL and spend time in the Guard Room. !!!!
Got a lacky to do your washing then Jane, There use to be a laundryette off Stamford Road in a parade of shops. I don't know if it's still there. All you want now is someone to do your ironing. I would have been a good lodger. as I can do the washing, ironing, and COOKING. then you could sit back all day with your book and a glass of white wine.
I always use the shop pastry. in fact it's on the list I need some for the mince pies and sausage rolls. I like my own this time of year. Must check I have mincemeat, As a chiled I thought it WAS MINCED MEAT as in beef mince.Shows how thick I was /AM.
Good morning to you all and evening kim.

Good morning all,
Not much to report, just starting to do my cards. Not much motivation, but the tree will have to go up this weekend and some shopping started.
The party went off pretty well and no extras, just the 12 girls. Music and noise, they sounded like they were enjoying themselves. I stayed inside and watched tv or fiddled on the computer and managed to avoid it. They were gone by midnight and all was quiet then.
My son got himself a new second hand car 2004 model, so my 23 year old Nissan will be leaving us soon for the wreckers. She has been a good little car over the years.
A few fires in N.S.W. and Queensland and very windy conditions. I must go and check out the news and see how things are going.
We lost one of our neighbours last week. Dear Tom from across the road went for his daily walk and collapsed in the next street with a stroke. He was gone immediately, although people tried to revive him. He was coming up to 80 this month and seemed a very fit man. A sad time for his family. Keith went to the church service, but he was buried in Sydney.
Thank you for your photos and I do hope everyone is well. 6.06 pm DST

Morning all, the wet is on the wane following a frost at bedtime. The sun is shining and I've been informed WE are wrapping (that'll be ME!!!) Christmas presents today. Don't know what the hurry is but when the management give instructions here, who am I not to obey. I'm told I get the job because 'I'm good at wrapping up parcels' - a likely story!
Watched Last Tango last night, what a lot of disfunctional family's? It looks like the two 'love-birds' are they only ones with a lick of sense. Can't wait to see how the following episodes turn out. What great TV writing and acting.
Off now for some brekky before attacking the wrapping paper and sell*ptape. C Y A L

Morning/Evening All (just)
Gas man here :-D Well I don't know if we had snow in the night or if it was just bad frost. But very icy.Chester did a nose dive on the drive :-S
Kim I'm so pleased the party went well with no hitches and that it wasn't too noisy. How sad for Tom's family.Just before Xmas too.But luckily for Tom he didn't suffer.
Mandy fingers crossed the weather stays ok for the parade. The sun is shining brightly here and once again showing up my mucky windows :-S
I was going to light the fire as all heating is off at the moment but Fitz is going into town a bit later and if the gasman has gone I will go with him ,but can't if I have a fire going. So I have one of those oil filled radiators plugged in which is keeping the chill off for the moment..I just asked the chap how much longer he is likely to be and it will be about an hour.
Frank you be careful out on slippery pavements..We don't want any broken bones :-S

Mandy I saw the parade. Were you waving your little flag??.It is nice to see people feeling so proud . I am feeling quite chilly .But once the garage door is shut and the heating going it should warm up quickly.(I hope so anyway)
I think another hot drink is in order now.

Hi All,
Nice day here with plenty of the yellow stuff but a cold breeze.
Was busy this morning picking greenery for my wreaths.
Forgot to tell you we watched two deer in our back field yesterday afternoon after lunch.
Cleaned the bathroom this morning too and now I have to clean out Hogwart who is doing fine and eating like a hog that it is.
Hav'nt read your posts yet so will do so now.
Thanks for the pics of the fireplace Frank and the windowsill. They look really festive.
I had my first card today from Aunt Joy mums sister. It has a lovely scene on the front entitled Winter Garden.

How nice to hear from Kim and know that the party went off ok without to much disruption and only a bit of noise.
Jane did you manage to get out with Fitz or have you had to leave it because the gas man took too long.
Will look in later as the sun is still shining and I need to get on.

Pressies (or most of them) all duly wrapped, labelled and waiting for some Ho Ho Ho...!!!
No snow here but my duaghterl lives out at Woodford Halse, half way between Daventry & Banbury and she said she's had snow there. My son in South Eaast London also said they had a 'powdering' too. I hope it doesn't do anything too nasty as I've got to go to the other side of Coventry tonight and won't be back till getting on for 11pm.
C Y A L - stay warm - and Ann, keep the gas man topped up with tea and your heating will never let you down again ;-)

That happens to us every year Jane, BUT, if you do send them one, you'll have the same catch-twenty-two again next year. Not only that, but it's going to cost you £2 in stamps just to post them!
I have to go tonight Jane, it's our big competition at our model club. I'm the one who does the paper-work plus a lot of other things. I'm hoping my entry wins a prize anyway. I'm going well equiped anyway, so I'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

How's your sore throat Mandy, hope it doesn't develop into a cold, that's the way mine usually start. Years ago my mum lost her voice, so her and dad went to see a consultant who said she would have to have a small operation, then dad chirped in and said ........... make sure she's at the bottom of the waiting list ........ I think he was joking :-0
Thanks for the photos Frank, it's looking very festive.
Fingers crossed Jane, no more 'L' s
Glad the party went well Kim, you never know with teenagers but it sounds like they enjoyed themselves without it getting too loud.
I'm going for a christmas lunch tomorrow out in Beaconsfield so hope it doesn't snow, we haven't had any, touch wood, but it is really cold.
Have a good evening William and well done wrapping the pressies, I usually do mine all in one go, takes hours, and the littliest ones always seem to have the biggest presents.
