Morning all/Evening Kim,
Had a cracking nights sleep, in bed for 10.30 pm head down by 11.00. Ros bought me a cup of tea at 9.30 this morning.
Got showered and dressed, got the tolley out of the car, and repacked the boot. She has more "BAGS FOR LIFE" than Tesc# have, !!!! When it's not so cold I will have a sort out in the boot and discard a lot of TAT. Why she needs 50/60 bags I will never know. And still she goe's into Morroso#s and has to use their plastic ones, as she has forgotten to take bags in with her <3 <3 <3 Old age creeping up on her :-( :-( :-( :-(
Would you believe she has gone out again with Carolyn this morning. As I went to get the T.V boxs to turn the thing off. There was an advert on and was saying "What makes a perfect day" I said to myself. NO BLOOD# TELIVSION !!!! All nice and quiet now.
I was going to make a PORK WELLINGTON today, but when I mentioned it to madam, she said "OH NO. not pastry with pork, so that's off the Menu. !!
I did enjoy my afternoon yesterday, not only seeing my old area. and having thoughts of the past. BUT and the BIG BUT was meeting Jane and Chris.. We all have an image in our mind, what someone would look like, and how they would speak. Not at all dissapointed, with what I saw. Jane is just as I expected, and the way she comes over on the thread, Bubbly, and full of life. and Chris. A quiet gentleman, who I am sure dosen't let life get him down.
We left before we had chance to meert James, but he was due home any time.
The photo's of little William, were great. Ros could have taken him home if he had been there.
I think I will do a bit of ironing, as the basket is full. Then I might make some sausage rolls, while getting dinner ready for tonight.
Will look in later, to see that you are behaving yourselves !!!

Must just tell you this. I was out in the back this morning at just after 11am and the robin from down the garden came and perched by the patio I was standing on. I popped my hand in my pocket and got a few fat sticks out and held them out to him and he came to my hand and took one but the other robin came a said something and he flew off. Went and told oh as I was so pleased and had this huge grin on my face. He asked if he may have a coffee and when I went out to the garage with it he was feeding the garage robin from his hand with mealworms. Then I had a go and yes he came to me too. As you can imagine I am over the moon now........ :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Jane I was'nt disappointed with that cereal either and think I may buy it again for a change. I do like the red berries one though.
Just been up the library and the girl had a book I had ordered in July!!!!! Just as well as there was'nt much more of my kind of thing that I had'nt already read.
A person in there was saying that they had read the book Parades End and watched the telly sreies and thought the book was much much better.

OH bought Parades End at the W*rks last week for £3.99 Mel. He hasn't started it yet, but when he does I'll ask him how it compares with the series. How wonderful and magical to have the little Robins feed from your hand!!!! Is the garage Robin one of the two that fed from your hand? You must try and get a pic to send, please.
So it is Hogarth and Hogwart up to now..........I wonder if there will be others when you get your camera and can see. I bet there will be so many comings and goings in the night!!
I hope Jane is ok with the bus!! I can't remember ever getting a return ticket on a bus and apart from the park and ride bus once I haven't been on a bus since we moved here.
Hope you are a lot better now Pat. Those bugs make you feel awful so it is good you got it in time to get over it before Saturday.
I'm home alone too Frank. His lordship is at another meeting and is off to the footie shareholders meeting tonight. He's hardly been at home this week. I think he has got a bit fed up with rushing about this week.
I am sitting finishing my homework before bead class tomorrow.....the watch and a necklace from the week before!!

Just been gpoing through Frank's daily-dose of emails. In the Good Old Photos, I couldn't help noticing the resemblance of the late Christopher Reeve(Superman) to John Barrowman.
I had 'one of those phone calls' yesterday afternoon. I picked up, said 'hello' only for the line to go dead. When I dialed 147 to see if there was a phone number, it came back with 000 0000 0000 - I reckon I had a call from the Thwilight Zone!!!
Have you noticed how everything has changed what it was once called, especially in medical parliance. You used to have an 'operation' - it'snow called a 'procedure' If you have a heart attack, or another frantic 'doctors-running-round occurence, - it's now called 'an episode' (thought that was something on TV???) If you have a serious accident - it's now called a 'trauma' I'm sure there must be a lot more but those come to mind at the moment.
Talking medical - watched Holby on Tuesday (love to nit-pick it), a patient is sick, an nursing assistant manages to catch it in a receptacle, then puts it down on the floor and walks off, leaves it while chatting up a doctor! No wonder hospitals are full of germs!!!!
Let's see who shows there age. Who can remember any of the following:- Grocers stores - Maypole Dairy, Liptons, International Stores Brown and Polsons cornflour Toffee - Palm - Sharps Comic strips in the Daily Mirror - Pip Squeak and Wilfred - and - Jane Garden seeds - Bees - and - Carters Metal polish - Bluebell - and - Silvo Magazines - Tit-Bits - and - Lilliput Washing powders - Dreft, Oxydol, Rinso, Tide, Omo Record player - Dansette
Been out locally this morning. Nice and sunny and fresh, wrapped up warm, cold but nice - should kill a few germs at 4 degrees. Prefer it to all the damp and wet.

I like going on the bus, especially as I have a freedom pass so don't have to pay, it's the only time I am pleased to see a bus lane. I hope Jane manages it okay, I've never seen anyone pay money on the bus they all have those oyster cards.
What a lovely experience Mel, having Robins feed out of your hand, I don't encourage the birds into my garden, with three cats lurking :-0
Have got all the Christmas decorations and the tree down from the loft will probably get it all sorted on Saturday, I usually wait until December is here, I thought the same thing Ann, the Christmas hoo ha started middle of November seems to get earlier each year.
Glad you are feeling better now Frank, a good night sleep works wonders.
I'm not sure these money off your next shop is really a good idea, I had a Sains**ry one for £7.50 but spent almost twice my usual shop using it.

I cleaned Hogwart out and I weighed him/her. Last time it was just over 453grms and this time it was just over 600grms. I could hardly believe it so did it again. Yes it has put on a lot of wieght.
My car was dead this morninjg so oh put it on charge and now I have to go and run it for a while.

Maureen I have had two of those vouchers. One if I spent £130 I got £20 off. Which I did use and bought the Christmas Turkey and some other Christmas essentials and the week before last I had one forspend £120 and get £18 pounds off which I used this week and stocked up on hedgehog grub over and above my usual £90. I had'nt quite gone and spent enough and I need to spend another £9 so I got two tins of biscuits. They will do for a pressy for oh (the tin of Cabury's choc ones) and a Family Selection. Could give that one as a present to my friends Graham and Gerry.
William I remember a lot of those things you posted. What about the sachets of Dream Shampoo like a little golden cusion? Still use Silvo and Brasso and mum always had Tide or Omo when I was small. Vim scouring powder and blue bag for the wash. I can remember buying Carter's seeds in Wollies at 3d a packet. I used to grow the Viginia stock in my small bit of garden by the lounge french doors so you could smell it when the doors were open. Also Carrots, I don't know why but I loved to grow carrots in a patch about a foot square!! under the pear tree.
Nan always used Dreft to wash her woolen underwear and my bl**dy vests she would buy me for the winter with little cap sleeves and they itched like billyo. I hated them..... :-P :-P
Dad wopuld read me Pip Squeak and Wilfred and I liked Muffin the Mule on the telly and Rag Tag and Bobtail. O and the Wooden Tops.

I put a long post on earlier. Then the door bell rang. It was madam and Carolyn returning from shopping. I got up and answered to door and got the bags in. The next I knew was Ros had come down to the computer to play a game and closed down my posting. NOT a happy bunniy !!!! Apoliges came thick and fast. :-0 :-0
I said that I remember all those things Will. as well as a few more, which have gone from my head at the moment. Ah Maypole, they did a fantastic Slab cake, that was a treat sometimes on Saturday teatime.
Mel, how lovely to get the Robins to come to your hands like that. Ours hang around your feet when doing a bit of gardening, picking over the bugs and small worms.
I haven't received photo's also, but I DID SEE THEM first hand yesterday, so there. !!! lol lol.
Been a cold dry day today. I got the Hostess out of the car this morning, and it looks fine, Harvey will have to come up to collect it, as at the moment it sits in the kitchen.
Didn't do any Ironing, I was having a read, then my eyes just closed. I couldb't get them open for over an hour. :-D :-D :-D Catching up on my rest. !!! Thats my excuse, and I am sticking to it.
Nice to see you around SHIRL, forgot to tell the clan that I spoke to you the other day !!
Did the Pork loin, in slices, marinated in Soy Sauce and Garlic. I whisked Mushroom and Onions in cream, and roast potato's. All went down well.

Well I didn't end up in Timbuktu. The bus was easy peasy .On time going but 10 minutes late coming back. The driver said it has been years since he picked anyone up from this stop.I think the last person would have been my 91 year old neighbour before she had her knee replacements. Maureen I don't think we have Oyster cards here. Are they not just used for London transport? I felt a right dope when I got home though, as I should have bought some things for Chris in the Stationers and I forgot (even though I walked past the shop :-S).So the minute James got home I went back to town in the car,got Chris his bits and then found a lovely pair of earrings in a little shop .Thought they would suit James's girlfriend.
Frank ,when you left our house ,did you notice a car indicating to turn in......It was James. So you literally just passed eachother. The flowers look lovely on the hearth(no I haven't lit the fire lol). Thanks again for them. We did have a lovely time didn't we .Lots of chat and laughs.
Those coupons for £5 off when you spend £40 are good. But I keep forgetting I have them and then they run out of date :-S :-S.I could have saved myself about £40 if I had only been on the ball.
Ann your watch is so pretty and very different. :-D.Could you send my pics to William as well as Shirl please.I'm trying to think if there is anyone else I have missed.
Mum always used Omo and Dreft. I seem to remember Frank saying about some road near here where housewives would put a pack of Omo on the window sill to let men know their husbands were out.OMO .Old Man Out. :-D :-D...........Am I right Frank? It was you that told me that wasn't it?

Evening everyone,
It's been a showery day here ,very heavy too at times !!
Hope your feeling better now Pat so you can get away for the weekend , yes the lights at Holt are usually worth looking at , not sure if they are turned on yet , a lot of places have the lights turned on this weekend ,Wells and Fakenham go on his weekend i think.
Oh Mel you are lucky getting the robins to feed from your hand , a photo would be good . Hogwart's getting to be a right little Billie Bunter !! :-D it's all that good food he's getting .
Had the family for tea tonight ,we had Shepherds Pie ,there's some left over so that will do for tomorrow just need to do some more veg .
You missed me Jane, i don't seem to have the photo's. Talking of buses , i had to smile when we went on the park and ride there was a chap who kept nodding off to sleep......little Katie kept looking at him and kept saying out loud .....he's awake now !!! no he's asleep now !! :-D :-D :-D
I looked at the trackie bottoms that i got for son for christmas yesterday and they are the wrong size !! i looked at the size on the hanger and didn't check the size on the label !! so it was my fault ,now i'll have to go again next week to change them !!
Ann the watch has turned out lovely hasn't it , pretty colours again.

Perhaps Hogwart is eating for two, or three, or four.....!!! lol Mel will be making a bigger doorway at this rate.
Maureen, you are doing well getting your christmas stuff out. I did see a lot of twinkling lights through a window coming home today and the pubs around here are all decked out.
I remember a lot of those things too, which reminds me, our local garden centre had boxes of broken biscuits for sale yesterday and I haven't seen those for years and never in a garden centre.
Amami Wave Set that mum used and Lin-co-Lin Beer Shampoo that I loved in my teens.
There used to be Acdo washing powder too and I remember mum putting those Dreft flakes in the bath to make it like bubble bath......no wonder I've got dry skin now!! :-S
I can remember a Marshall and Snelgrove Store in Leicester in the 50s. It was very old fashioned and I remember being fascinated how money was put in those screwcups and sent whizzing along on the high cables.
OMO....oh the little minx's Jane!
Well, OH had an e-mail today telling him all the council's Clerks to School Governors will be made redundant next March. They had already suggested this may happen as the council is axeing the service to schools as part of the cuts. He is quite pleased really as he has already been approached by some schools to do the work privately and it will give him chance to pick the best ones that create less work for him. There are downsides too so he is going to chat with some of the others who already do additional private work first. His other work as an Independent Person is picking up now as well, so his old saying of 'when one door closes another often opens' seems to be about right! As he says, he is lucky he does these things out of interest and doesn't depend on the income like some do.

Morning/Evening All I have been a bit daft.I thought I would just try and see if my washing machine works.Plugged it in and something went off with a big bang :-S.Chris will not be pleased as he told me not to try.But I have so much washing :-S :-S.Another call to Fitz I think. I have the phone at my ear on hold to the insurance people.I'm trying to chase them up to at least come and tell me that I need new white goods.
It is a really frosty morning.I think I will get the fire lit later. Oh the lady has just said she doesn't want me to stay on hold for any longer as she needs to speak to someone and will get back to me .She better do :-|
While I wait I will go and get the kettle on for a coffee and defrost the birdbath.
