Yes thought the same thing ...... Frank's home .....hope you had a good time in Hastings and it wasn't too wet and windy Frank <3

Frank Report 24 Nov 2012 15:24

Afternoon All,

I have read posts to page 1216. will catch up on the rest later.

I have over 80 Emails to open when I got home 1.p.m. We have had a bite to eat and Ros has goon to do a weekend shop.

We left here Thursday in rain, that stayed will us till the M 25. Then the sky's brightened and by the time we got to Dartford bridge, the sun was shining and stayed with us to Hastings, We arrived about q12.30 pm. We had a picnic lunch and the girls decided to go to Town on the bus which stops right outside the apartment. John and I sat looking out to sea, with our books. The waves started to show lots of "white horses" When the girls got back the wind was really getting up.
By the time we went out to eat at 7.30 pm. I could hardly open the front door onto the street. The wind must have been blowing upto 50 mph. We flew down the prom. to the Indian restaurant. When we came out we had to fight against the wing all the way back.

Friday Morning the sea had calmed down, and the sun was shineing. So after breakfast we decided to go to Brighton (THE LANES) The weather was so good, I walked around with my coat and jumper over my arm. After we had walked around there and Carolyn had Spent almost £10, 000.00 on a three and a half carrat DIAMOND RING we walked down to the pier. Which was free to go on. What a change. They had one of these DOUGHNUT Machines, and Ros had to have some. As she walked along the pier the biggest seagull landed on her head and PINCHED the Doughnut from her fingers as she was going to put it in her mouth. WHAT A LAUGH THAT CAUSED. She then kept the doughnuts in the vbag, and just opened the bag enough to get a bite from the doughnuts remaining. MORE LAUGHTS, and a lot of the public joined in. What a treat it was to see her face, and her shouting at the seagulls.

We left there this morning in poiuring rain, which stayed with us almost to Luton.

Bit clearer now, but pleanty of clouds. It seems the Country has had a right old bashing these last couple of days.

Hope you are all safe and well.

See you later.

William

Frost cleared, went shopping, the rain came down (again) and now it wont stop again. Back home safe and snug now.

Checked through the TV mag this morning and not very promising after the weekend. Carmel keeps asking me when Crinkly Bottom is on again! I tell her it's Crickley Hall, but I think she's waiting for Noel Edmonds to pop out of the cupboard. I thought the best thing on last week was 'Last tango in Halifax' - there was so much that we could identify with. Looking forward to this weeks episode, I think it's going to be hilarious. A good cast too.

We did our first Christmas Bazaar today but not very exciting, I think Carmel got the most things (she DID) - I only got one item - but Carmel did buy me a little treat.

PS. Got an 'automated' phone call this afternoon. I was just about to slam the phone down when I realised it was to say that the library book that Carmel had ordered was in at the local library!!!

Yes William I really enjoyed Last Tango in Halifax. Anything with Anne Reid is going to be good.

Sounds like you had a good time Frank. My neice used to live in Hastings, did you see the house that's shaped like a wedge of cheese and painted yellow? Can't imagine what the rooms must be like inside.

Been raining steadily here all day so far.

I went up the shop for the paper but before that I went down the road the other way to see if any branches were down from the fir trees down the road. There were so I got a nice bit of what I call fluffy stuff. Needless to say I got drowned by the rain.

Went on to the shop and got the paper and he gave me some more newspapers for Hogwart.

Oh is now watching his motor racing and I am going to do some wireing.

Glad you had a nice time Frank even if the wether was a bit wild when you went for your indian. Good that you are home safe and sound though. Thanks for letting us know because you know we all worry about you and Ros.

Nice you are back Frank and thanks for the emails! I can just imagine Ros's face when the seagull swooped.......it would be like taking OH's breakfast off him!! My word, Carolyn doesn't hold back when she's spending, does she.......my engagement ring stone would look tiny against that!!!! It is the only bit of jewellery I have that has to be insured seperately on the contents insurance.

I went to the Art and Craft Fair........it is almost nextdoor to the Tropical Bird place so I could hear a few strange whistles and whoops when I got out of the car!! It was pretty good for a small fair and there were some lovely watercolour paintings. They were all numbered and you could pick up a slip to note the number of your favourite and pop it in the voting box. Mine was one of the sea with some fantastic waves. There was a nice jewellery stall there too and the lady had made some beautiful bead butterflies on sticks with the tiniest of beads. She had tiny bead Ladybirds and Bumble bees as well. I also noticed some lovely Poinsettia flowers made of green and red wire......might have a go at some of those!! :-) It was interesting to see she had some beaded watches like we were making this week........but quite different. I thought of Mel when I saw some tiny knitted Hedgehog pin cushions....very cute!!

I haven't given Christmas much thought either.........just 1 pressie for OH up to now.....oh and the Turkey's ordered.

Better get on with my beading homework now.......2 things to finish.

Frank, that would have been a brilliant Youtube clip with the Seagull /Doughnut on Ros's head lol......Those Seagulls are huge too aren't they :-S
That must be a ring and a half at that price that Carolyn bought :-0 :-0.
Glad you had a good time.I bet it dd you the world of good.

Ann ,that sounds like it was an interesting Craft Fair ,and nice to see other people selling similar things to yours :-D

Hannah and John have just gone out .It is a shame James is out with my car as Hannah is on the insurance. She has just had to insure herself on Chris's until tomorrow afternoon.I think they might have gone to see one of her friends.
The rain looks like it might be getting a bit heavier now :-S

Chris is still in the garage putting together these cupboards. He looks like the old Shoemaker in the Elves and Shoemaker, with his Apron on and tapping away lol
He has just realised that the 'feet ' for the cupboards are missing.(He should have ordered them separately apparently )..typical :-S

Just went outside for a ciggy and the barn owl came and perched on one of the poles of our fence past the new pond. I tried to take a pic but it was it was too far away and it is raining. Watched for longer and then he had a good shake and flew off.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Nov 2012 18:28

O Jane not missing the feet thats very annoying as they can't be put in unless they have those.

Ann I am glad you enjoyed your day at the fair. We have one on in the next village tomorrow and I may just take myself up there to see whats on offer. I used to go to loads of jumble sales and craft fairs with mum but hav'nt seemed to bother now without her. I don't have a friend here to go with either.

Frank

Frank Report 24 Nov 2012 18:28

Oh poor old Chris. Wrong again :-D :-D :-D

Yes Jane the rings she has and a diamond encrusted Rolex must be worth in excess of £40/50 grand. and thats only what she wears. She has a safe full of other stuff. It was quite funny. In one shop The ring she was looking at was a 4 carrat single diamond £12,500. The woman offered Carolyn £200.00 for the ring she has on her finger. John let out a LOUD LAUGH. He had paid £3000.00 for it a few years ago. The woman then offered £1,500.00. then we walked out of her shop. There are so many jewellery shops, you could stick a deal with any of them, but when you get insulted like that, why should you bother.
Poor on Hannah, having to pay to insure Chris's car. That wouldn't have come cheap ???

Thanks so much for your concern Mel. we were both knackered after yesterdays jaunt, we must have walked 4/5 miles. I am strugling to get up and down the lounge tonight.

Going to watch come dancing, and get some tea. Ros has her Beef, green pepper in Blackbean sauce, Rice and prawn crackers.

Jane

Jane Report 24 Nov 2012 19:25

Chris has done all he is doing today. Also missing are the handles.!!!!

Update on my niece in Tewkesbury. All furniture and belongings have now been moved upstairs.Settees and Dining Table cannot get up the stairs as they are too narrow.Janice is staying there tonight as Nieces OH is away .It is getting a bit worrying now :-S

Off now to dish up dinner..then the XF :-D

Annx

Annx Report 24 Nov 2012 21:16

Oh Jane I get the picture.....tapping away.......shame you have to wait for the legs though.....oh, oh handles as well!! I wonder why things like legs are extras to be ordered seperately?? :-S Hannah insuring dad's car for a day will still be much cheaper than running her own car!

Your poor niece will be watching out for the floods tonight. I think I would keep some wooden boxes handy so the settes and table could be lifted up a couple of feet clear of the floor. OH said it is hammering away on the conservatory roof now.

Mel, I should go along and have a look tomorrow. Some of the ideas you see are useful to copy. I often go on my own to things like that now, otherwise I wouldn't get to see them. I used to go to things like fairs with my sister or mum, but my 'pony' friends are not interested in craft things!! It's a pity I don't live near you, then we could go together!! :-)

Meant to say I'm glad you are up and running with your printer Maureen. I keep thinking ours will pack up soon.....it works hard now with all the clerking and other stuff OH prints.

Frank, Carolyn must look fabulous with all that stuff when she 'dolls up'!! lol. No wonder she has a safe. :-0 Think I will stick to what I have and beads. After all that walking I think I would be weary too.

Frank Report 24 Nov 2012 21:51

Have just caught up on the Jungle, Now that X factor is on till 9.45. then i will watch Jungle again.

I had king prawn tonight with pasta and cream sauce. (ready made) quite tasty, but wouldn't rush to have it again.

The rain is lashing down on the front windows now. Hope you niece is safe and sound Jane. The amount of rain that is forcast next week won't make good reading for anyone who is near water.

As we drove home today, rivers everywhere were overflowing into the fields. The farmers will have a job keeping their seeds in the ground. Some fields were half covered in water. All the poor cattle were huddled together in corners of the fields, trying to stay out of the rain.

Carolyn is the kindest person you could wish to meet, always considers other peoples feelings, and was concerned that we were able to afford to have meals out and lunches.. She is the one who allways picks Ros up to go shopping. and neither John or her will take anything towards Petrol cost. We topped up the tank before we left this morning. £77.77 To fill the Range Rover up costs over £110.00 !!!! and it only does about 18 miles to the gallon.

They are off to Tenneriffe on the 8th December. and return the 13th January. They are back four days then off to Florida for four weeks. They are such good friends and so down to earth, we have been friends for over 30 years now.

Conrad Skyped earlier. Jan and Ella are both down with Colds, he's the nurse. and all being well will come home Tues/Wed.

Jungle just starting.

Night Night.
