Liz, My neighbour is brilliant too. Water colour is his thing. We have about seven around the lounge. Mainly local Canal scenes, but also sea scape. His bottom end of his lounge is stack up the wall with paintings, he does exibitions all over the place and sells quite a lot, some making in excell of £150.00. I would be no good at it as I am coloured blind.
Tony (the neighbour) and another artist keep saying they will draw an outline of a painting and let me loose with a tray of water colours, and see what it turns out like. Coiuld be a master piece :-0 :-0 :-0
Weather hasen't improved, in fact it's starting to get dark and misty here already Heating is on, and I am shirtless. Ros is reading her TAKE A BREAK and watching tele, I don't know how she can do both :-S :-S :-S Clever people YOU WOMEN
Liver and Onion, peas and mash for dinner tonight.
I don't know what Mel and Liz are talking about, is it a T V p,rogramme, or real life ???
I've heard from an old neighbour this afternoon, lived up the road from me when I was young. We pass on bits and pieces that we remember. which is nice, also to keep in touch. She is the same age as my brother who died in April 80.

They are talking about the characters in The Paradise Frank. The first series has just finished, I shall look forward to the next one as well.
If you looked at my CD collection you would think it was owned by several people, I have CD's ranging from Chopin to Adele the only music I really can't listen to is heavy metal.
Had a really enjoyable evening with a friend that came round, we opened a bottle of wine and I did Fajitas then we opened another bottle of wine ;-)
Have just done an enormous shop for Sunday maximum number will be 13 but granddaughter aged 16 hasn't been too well so it may be 12 of us. We will have to queue to have cuddles with Chloe :-D I might even get the Christmas tree down from the loft and set it up, I know it's early but the little ones would love that.

Frank, You must have a go with watercolours, seriously, you may well have a talent, and you never know until you try - I did, and I haven't!!! Yes, we're talking about a TV.series that has just finished (new one next year) called The Paradise. It was on Tuesdays, and right up my street, ending with a jilting! the jilted bride was quite horrid and it was richly deserved, however, she and her banker father are very wealthy and vengful, so watch this space!!!! Visitors here,so better go and be sociable!!

Afternoon gang I have felt a bit out of sorts today and just couldn't be ars** to post :-S.Everything feels an effort (if you get my drift). What a miserable day too.The fog hasn't cleared here all day.I have had the heating on this afternoon and lights. All curtains are drawn and it feels much cosier now. James is having a Stir Fry for dinner and I have 2 Lamb Steaks marinating in Red Wine Vinegar,Redcurrant Jelly,Sliced Garlic and chopped Rosemary).I think it is supposed to go all gooey when it's cooked in the pan. Then it suggests serving with nice buttered Mash.I thought it sounded quite tasty,so fingers crossed :-D
Chris used to do Water Painting and I thought he was pretty darned good.He hasn't done any painting for years now.I am wondering if he might take it up again when he retires...(I'm desperately thinking of things to keep him from out under my feet lolol)
Today is the day Fitz's Mother has moved to the Care Home in Market Harborough.I think I might give him a call and see how it went.I bet he will feel a bit strange.I know I did when I left Mum for the first time .It was mixed feelings.I felt sad that she had to move into a home ,but on the other hand it was a huge relief to know that she would be well cared for and safe. The worry of her being at home with Dementia had been so draining, never knowing what she might happen.
Chester is pestering me so I think I better see if he needs out.

I can just picture him saying that David.
Aah Jane if you lived a bit closer I might just have popped round, your dinner sounds mouth watering.
Many years ago my dad took up bowls, my mum was always moaning that she hardly ever saw him, work all week and then bowls at weekends. Oh how she changed her tune when he retired couldn't wait to wave him off to his bowls matches. :-D
Do you remember Deborah from Utah, she sent me a happy birthday message on Facebook, we've been chatting, she's not on GR anymore but asked me to send her best wishes to you all.

Evening everyone,
Very foggy here first thing this morning ,but it turned into a lovely sunny day , fog has now returned and it looks very thick out there .
Hubby has put another window in today in the conservatory , one more to go tomorrow and that's the kitchen window.
Oh Maureen i remember Deborah ,can you give her my best wishes please if you speak again.
Crikey Jane that's a late postal delivery !!! i should think he needed a torch to see his way round !! I should think you need a day off Jane ,you've had so much going on lately ,what with one thing and another and it's now all caught up with you !!
Looking forward to the Jungle tonight , just wondering if Helen will do the trial this time , they won't be very happy if there's no food again !! she seems frightened of every thing in there, but i think i would be too :-S :-S

Well Mandy you were lucky to get SUN :-D.No such luck here. Frank will no doubt remember when he lived at the top of my road that Fog seems to stick about here at the top of the hill. You are lucky to have such a handy OH putting in windows :-D.We are planning on having new windows next year.It will be a massive job :-S
I didn't see the Jungle last night as it didn't start till later and I just couldn't stay up.Fingers crossed I will watch it tonight.I feel sorry sometimes when the same people keep getting voted to do the trials.
I rang Fitz just now and his Mother is still waiting for an Ambulance to take her to the home.He is rather pi**ed off.I think it is wrong to move someone like Steffi at this time of night to a care home.Apparently an ambulance was booked for 1pm to take her ,but there was a mix up with her medication at the hospital and they had to wait for another Doctor to come and sort it out.So the ambulance was cancelled and booked again for 4.30.Chris said it could well be 10pm by the time she goes :-S I think it should be left until tomorrow now, when it is daylight and they have the right number of staff on at the home to settle her in properly and gently.....Trouble is things don't always run smoothly with situations like this. :-S.
I need to mash the spuds now. Then call James down to do his stir fry.(I'm not doing that as well as mine :-|) Just because he doesn't eat Lamb.
Goodness ! I just saw Dave Lee Travis has been arrested on Sex Charges !!!!

I can never understand why people go on the jungle program if they are frightened of creepy crawlies. They should know by now what kinds of things you have to do when you go there.
Been to Holsworthy and bought my chicken food. Hav'nt been down to feed Hogwart yet. Think I may scatter some flour around the plates tonight and see what foot prints I get!! They probably won't come!! and slugs are atracted to the flour :-(

Evening All,
Has everyone been to vote for their new Police Commissioner? We went first thing this morning. Easy choice as only one seems remotely suitable.
Yes, the Paradise was good wasn't it. I wish I'd seen all of it from the start though.
Liz, you made my ears prick up mentioning Steeleye Span!! We must have been to about 4 of her concerts now, all very good. I wouldn't mind a voice like Maddie's, so strong and distinctive. I have a few of their CDs. I saw The Spinners too many years ago.
I always wished I could paint horses or portraits like those in the old paintings with all the fine detail. Mind you, I struggle to write in a straight line!!
I remember Deborah too with her little boy....please send my good wishes as well.
It was foggy here when we set off for Chatsworth, but it was lovely and sunny when we got there. We thought it wouldn't be very busy on a weekday......wrong!! Loads of coaches had come and we think the Christmas market there had attracted some too. The Pantomime themed rooms were good, but we still thought it a bit pricey. Captain Hook insisted on 'posing' for his photo. lol. Afterwards we had a nice walk in the grounds and we came home via Matlock which was a nice run with all the autumn colours.
Michael Portillo's train journeys again tonight at 9.00pm.

I think the money might have some thing to do with it Mel, no amount of money would get me in there i can tell you !!
Did any one see the Chicken on the news , when it was shown a playing card it pecked at the card the number the card had on it .
Yes i'am lucky hubby can do all these jobs ,although i do have to wait some times until he's between jobs to get things done ,like this week, he's waiting to start a new extension for a customer so i got the windows done before he starts :-D
The next job is for a lady who use to be a dresser for the Queen mother !! i wonder if he finds out a few little tit bits !! :-D :-D

Oh Mandy.....that could be interesting if he gets any titbits! lol. It will be good to get your conservatory windows all done for Christmas. I saw about that chicken in the paper, it was an ex battery hen wasn't it. They are obviously cleverer than I thought.
They shouldn't move an old lady to a strange place late at night should they. How confusing for her, she might think she was being kidnapped!
Mel I know exactly what visitors I would get at night if I left food down.......unwelcome ones!!

What a day! My poor Carmel - always in the wars. She was kept awake most of the night complaining her mouth 'was on fire'. Anyway this morning I phoned the hospital and the doctor that did the biopsy on her tongue answered and said we were to go to the clinic at 11am. She examined Carrmel's mouth and said the wound was healing OK, there was only one stitch left to be disolved. Then she said Carmel's glands were swollen, that she had probably got some kind of viral infection and to go and see her GP. On the way back we called in our surgery and were told a doctor would see her at 4.20pm. So we went along at the appointed time and Carmel saw a lady doctor. She said yes she had got a viral infection, it was also affecting her left ear and causing her to feel so unwell. Normally they wouldn't prescribe antibiotics but in view of what had been going on she would this time to clear things up. So that was a scrip for the antibiotics and some sleeping pills. That was on top of the hospital doctor giving her a scrip for 2 bottles of Diflam and pain killers. So all in all it's been real 'medical' day. I'm glad we didn't neglect it though, we just thought it was the aftermath of the procedure.I think I know two people who will be having an early night tonight.
We have postal votes so we have almost forgotten about the Police voting, not that I personally see it will make a difference anyway!
C Y A later tomorrow. Take care and nighty night ;-)

Oh William, she has been in the wars and what a day you have had trotting from 1 place to another! It is a good job you didn't leave it though and I hope the tablets sort her out quickly.
If it doesn't make a difference it won't be working William!! lol. It's the biggest shake up of policing for 50 years. They are to be the interface between us and the Police which is why it is important to get the right sort of people in the job. (up to £100,000 salary). I don't think it will be a good change myself. The new panels will have less independent people on than the old Police authorities so that seems like a step backwards for a start.
