Oh .I forgot this morning to wish the 'Boys' Happy Birthday xx(sorry).
I have been out and about and popped to see Fitz.He is in a bit of a stew this afternoon as all the homes he has been to look at for his Mother will be no good as apparently she needs a home who take people with a Mental Disorder!!!!.Now I know she has her highs and lows and can certainly be a bit strange at times ,but I have an awful feeling the type of care home that she is destined for will be full of people who have major Mental Disorders :-S :-S :-S.
I can't get into my kitchen at all at the moment.I can hear a lot of banging and scraping going on.I can see the wall paper is off the walls ,but can't understand what the banging is all about.I don't want to go and peer through the door.I think it is going to be my chicken casserole in the microwave tonight. The cooker might be back in place but I have a feeling the kitchen is going to be so dirty :-S
I have lit the fire and drawn the curtains and it now feels cosy. But I need to go out the front door and around to the garage to the big fridge to get the chicken :-| Brrrrr!!

I have just been out the back to lock the back gate and garage door. It's COLD !!!
Still in my shorts, now with a T shirt. lovely and warm indoors.
I have been topping up the big saucepan with boiling water so the saucepan keeps a steady simmer, and doesn't get to low.
We had the mussels at lunchtime. My, they were good.
Jane I thought you would have "blacked your nose" to see what was happening out in the kitchen. What would you do without your microwave ??? You would have to get Chris to treat you all to dinner out tonight. !!!!
Have you spoken to Fiona lately ??? Hows things going for her ???
Just going to watch the CHASE.

Oh received a big box in the post this morning. It was from Stephanie his neice again. When he opened it a huge balloon came out with another heart shaped one attached to the top. They stand on a weight which is covered in shiny pink paper with a fringe at the top where the string holding the balloons comes out. Aslo in the box was purple shiney circles and silver hearts. Loads of them all over the floor!!!! The big round balloon had Happy Birthday S****** on it and on the other side was a picture of Stephanie holding a glass of beer. Oh was absolutely delighted and is now thinking what to do for Stephanie's birthday in January. I think she is 21!!!
Nice to hear from Shirl. Hope the hip dos'nt give you too much gip. How is your son now Shirl? xx

Cooker still in the middle of the kitchen ,but I just realised it is connected so my Chicken Tonig**creamy mushroom has just gone in :-D.Just the rice will go in the microwave.
Maureen ,Mario will have a go with the blind when everything else is done(hopefully Friday). All the tiles are down now (except for the loo). That is not covered by the insurance and they will do that at the very end.(separate job) A lovely young lad called James was with Mario. But he never said a word or had any drinks I offered.I think he must just be really shy.
Shirl .Sorry your hip is too bad for you to get out and about. Why wouldn't you consider having a replacement??
OH Kim,what a time you are having :-S.You must feel absolutely knacker**.Can nothing be done to stop your recurring tummy bug?You can't afford to keep losing weight can you.I wish I could send you a load of my weight......It would do us both good :-D
Must just go and make sure the Cooker is working properly. It is balanced on a bit of chipboard lol

Ann, Thank you for the additional info on my Wells/Griffith search, very valuable. I've covered a fair bit of ground with Mel's help but yours adds even more. Just when you think you've heard every sirname, a new one turns up.Edward Kicks (just for Kicks eh!) and among all these was a family named Kiy - it got spelt Key on one census. So thank you again.
The menace phone calls have started again, booooo. The was the Asian gentleman yesterday who was asking if I was William, the householder - SLAM, down went the phone. Then the phone rang this morning & Carmel answered it as out of the room. To my surprise I heard her shout an Irish exlpetive (Carmel never swears) and she slammed the phone down. It was someone trying to sell cavity wall insulation but it was a recorded message and as usual 1471 will reveal No withheld. Carmel was expecting bad news on a terminally ill relative in Ireland, and also her step-mother over there has been very ill at 90 with pneumonia. Then these heartless cretins bombard us with useless calls.
It's a good job with have Frank's humourous emails to cheer us up. That's when he's not cooking up gourmet meals. Wish he lived a bit nearer, I'd get myself an invatition round to his place for one of these yummy dishes.
Carmel has to go for a biopsy on her tongue on Thursday and she's dreading it. I've been told by medics that it's not so bad as they only take a microscopic sample. Nevertheless, mouth and eyes are not areas we like being messed with. It will involve a local anaesthetic so we'll have to see how she is afterwards.
Right, I'm back off to my family tree to add Ann's info. Catch you all soon, take care folks.

Evening All,
A bit late in the day, but 'Happy Birthday BOYS' :-D :-D. Mel there is about the same age gap between you and your OH as me and mine :-D Keeps us 'young'. lol.
Glad to be of help William. I thought the surname 'Kicks' unusual too....I'd never heard of it before. It is annoying when you are expecting important phone calls and these cold calls happen. The times I have washed and dried my hands to rush to the phone for it to be someone telling me I have computer problems!!! It's enough to make you Grrrrr!!! Best wishes to Carmel. I bet it will be over before she realises and the mouth usually heals quite quickly.I think we would all feel the same about having it done.
Kim, you have really been in the 'wars' lately. I do hope you soon get over the bug and start to feel a lot better. I don't know how you manage to stay as cheerful as you do.

Holby's on, and I'm watching football. Man City V Ajax
Dinner was a real blow out tonight. We had half each, with cabbage, carrots and cauli. Stuffed to the gills.
Still no cloths on, it's like a bake house in here. Will be glad to get into a cold bed later.!!!
William we have had three of those phone calls again today. Ros keeps saying don't answer it. But I enjoy either keeping them waiting, or sometimes question them to who and why they are ringing me. OR BEST OF ALL telling them where to get off.!!!!
Jane are you having a new kitchen, with all that damp, you must have been able to claim from the insurance. ????
Will be off now to see the lat half hour of football.

Mandy the chef at one of the carveries we go to is far too generous with the meat ........I keep thinking I should take a doggie bag to bring some home. Lol.
I think the teacher is 'stretching' us this year. Two needles at once with invisible thread is tricky and you can get knotted very easily! (oh that's another thing you don't hear any more.....'get knotted' ) This week we are back to some wirework making wire coils and other wire shapes to use on a necklace. I love purples and burgundy but am trying to get into some other colours as well. All of us at class have noticed we each seem to favour particular colours.
Jane, if I leave my OH with workmen here he does just the same.....holes himself up in the study!!! What is it with them??? :-S Workmen need regular cups of tea so you can have a decko to see that they are doing things the way you both agreed. :-) I bet you just can't believe it is moving on so quickly now.......tiles on the floor :-D I bet it looks very different now those are down.
Sounds like it is not going to be easy for Fitz to find somewhere suitable for his mum. She would hate being somewhere where people were obviously in a far worse state mentally than she is and I'm sure he would not want that for her either. It seems odd they think she needs that kind of home.
Shirl, your poor hip! Not much fun if it stops you going out. It's a pity we can't squirt a bit of oil on our joints isn't it. I hope it soon improves a bit for you. :-S

I squirt oil on my joints every day. I take omega 3 fish oil Glucosamine and vitamins every evening with dinner. I used to take Jointa*e but have found the se*en Sea jointca*re better, and cheeper.
Going to bed every night now with my hot wheat monkey on my knees. Sometimes he is on the floor in the morning or I am cuddleing him!!
Enjoyed the Paradise tonight but it fizzled out a bit at the end.
I was standing outside the back door this afternoon at 4 pm and glimpsed a movement out the corner of my eye looked left and saw a deer run past then turn back and disappear into the trees at the side of the green drive round the trees, then another one came running along and went straight up the green drive and out of site. Whether it was chasing the other one or they were frightened by something I don't know.
We have seen Hogwart tonight twice but this one dos'nt like it when we turn the outside light on. He disappears into the long grass and weeds at the edge of the garden. Tonight he has had Whiskers chicken and fat off the kidney from our dinner and a saucer of whiskers dried cat food. So far he has eaten the soft chicken but I expect the rest will be gone by morning. No frost here tonight like there was yesterday night. It was all over the cars rooves and grass when I went ot look to see how much had been eaten.
Off for my shower now as the heating has just gone off but it stays warm for about an hour after. If it gets too cold I shall shower in the morning while the heat is on.

I have taken fish oils for many years, Mel. I take multivitamins but not every day. Then when I hurt my knees 3 years ago I started taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin as well. Getting to be right pill poppers! :-D I wonder if there will be more Hedgehogs coming for food when the word gets around. They must look forward to seeing what's on the menu each night. :-)
Frank I would love your dinners with all the veg you do. I seem to be hungry all the time since it turned cold.
Off to bed myself now......slept well again last night.......hope it lasts. :-D :-D

Ann,my knees are shot in that the joints are painful and weak after attempting to stand after sitting or kneeling. Once erect they're as good as they can be. I think this is a consequence of the serious RTA I was involved in. I sometimes think of getting new knees but theres pros and cons. I will get along the way I am until I can't. Calcium is good for our bones isn't it?
