Oh Yes The Jungle :-D.I wonder who is going in this year.
Mandy I feel really gritty and grubby.Even Chester's coat feels dusty lol.I don't think I look quite like a Miner lol but feel like one.
I won't be attempting any cleaning (unless it is where I might dish up food) until all is done.It will just be a waste of time.
No rain here yet today.I don't know if any is forecast for us.It has been a lovely sunny day.

Evening All,

Well Jane, you will be mopping the new tiles before you know it......won't be long now! I can just picture Chester tiptoeing around the edge. That's the trouble when you do kitchens and bathrooms.....so much disruption! I remember when we had built in wardrobes done the air was full of that fine dust in the bedrooms so we put the mattress on the lounge floor and slept there for a few nights. It is all worth it once it is done and you are straight again though. Nice pic of Hannah......I wish the camera was as kind to me as it is to her!! lol.

My parents never read me bedtime stories, tucked me up or kissed me goodnight! Anyway, before I get maudlin.....I used to read bedtime stories to my brother when he was little. He liked it best when I made up stories for him and I remember his eyes would light up and his face would break into a smile as soon as I said 'Once upon a time.......' lol. Tricky remembering though when he wanted the same made up story the next time!! Even as a toddler it was me he would bring his cardboard books to tell him words and ask him to find things in the pictures and point to them.

I nipped into the city again today......more bits off the market.....pearls this time, all colours and a big strand for £1. I was held up for ages getting there as 2 cars had collided going around an island just as a fire engine with lights and bells going was trying to get through. The firemen had to leap off the engine and move the cars before they could carry on.

There haven't been any more fireworks around here tonight than there have been any night in the past week. Maybe more people have gone to organised things instead?

Mel, how many Hogs will your box hold? Your OH may need to make another box if more are coming now. It's quite exciting if there are several.........pitter patter of tiny feet. :-D I hope the 'gourmet food' chez Mel's hasn't made them turn their noses up at 'slug suppers'.

Ann,another lovely pic of your latest addition to your collection .You will be able to set up shop with all your beautiful creations :-D :-D.I wish I had your talent.

Well I am off to bed now.Chris and James went ages ago.I have tucked in Chester and locked up.
Not too many pops and bangs tonight ,but a lovely smell of bonfires.I just need to bathe my poorly eye and squeeze in some gooey ointment and then I will snuggle down with my book.
See you all tomorrow x

Frank Report 5 Nov 2012 22:17

Evening all,

I suppose most of you will be tucked up by now.

The bubby ans squeak was a treat, Ros had cold pork and I had ham with a couple of eggs. What a nice change from roasts.

Getting there then Jane, Don't get carried away with Mario will you, good job Chris is home.

I popped down the pub to watch the football tonight. There was a guy in there that I have never seen before. Drunk as a lord when I went in, and still there when I came out. Where he is going, only he will know. The B jukebox was blasting away in the other bar. It pays even if no one puts money in. I could rib it off the wall. THUMP THUMP all the time.

There is nothing wotst than when they change these supermarkers around. Tesc# gave us a map the last time they moved everything.

In a tree I have found it says Sarah Wells was buried in Tottenham Cemetry Oct 21st 1911 and the cause of death was Bronchitis.

That sounds just my cup of tea too Frank, goes nicely with ham and eggs.........we were saying tonight that we are a bit roasted out too.I hope that chap you saw didn't have far to stagger home. :-D

Jane I don't think I'd like to be tied to a shop in the day! Mind you, I could sort the tax, vat and NI which is a headache for some!! : :-D I hope your eye soon improves, it must be hard to read with ointment gloop smearing your vision. Do you get checked out by your resident Doctor when you have ailments???? :-)

Speaking of which, I think I know why I have had those awful sleepless nights for months. I think my low Thyroid levels may be to do with it as I have been on the increased dose for about a couple of weeks now and the last 2 nights I have slept fine. I did a google and found sleepless nights is a symptom. Maybe I will be that 'Spring Chicken' in a month or two!! :-D :-D

Night, night everyone........

Hello everyone, Have been laid up with another tummy bug, must have a germ in the bowel somewhere that keeps reactivating. It is taking it's toll as I keep losing weight.

Thank you to everyone who is sending photos and emails keeping me up to date. I do love to receive them.

Well we had our Melbourne Cup here today and I had my annual bet and lost. Prince Charles and Camilla are out here at the moment and she presented the winning owner with the Cup. Being Melbourne the rain had to make an appearance and spoil it for the wonderful on field fashions.

I guess you must be getting some wintery weather by now. We have one hot day here and then a series of cold ones.

I see Pat has gone away for a week. Maureen have you had your trip yet?

Has anyone heard how Fiona is doing? She has been away from the thread for a long time. Hope you are all well. Cheers 8.45 pm DST

Morning/Evening All
I don't feel like a spring chicken this morning.I have been awake since something after 3 again :-S.
Mario and his sidekick are here.I shall escape for a little while as I have a few jobs to get done in town. Will leave Chris in charge.Mind you he will shut himself in the study and keep well out of the way.So maybe it will be Chester in charge :-S :-S

There was a heavy frost again this morning and it is chilly willy. The heating will be on constant today, but as the garage doors inner and outer will be open until this evening there won't be a cat in he**s chance that the house will feel warm. :-S
I will light the open fire about lunch time I think and at least can sit up close to it. :-D :-D

Frank Report 6 Nov 2012 11:42

Morning all/Evening Kim.

Glad to see you about Kim. Hope the tummy bug soon clears up. It must be horrible.

Who talking SPRING CHICHEN ??? That's the last thing I will ever be

. My left eye seems to be getting worse. I onlt had a test and new glass's this year. When I watch football on tv I can only see it when I keep my left eye closed. When I have them both open I get double vision, with or without my glass's. I think the cataracts are getting worse. I have an eye patch which I will have to start wearing, when watching football. .

I am sitting here stripped to the waist in shorts. Ros got up this morning feeling cold. I offered to warm her up. (I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY) but she chose the central heating, and it's too hot for me.

Any T.V experts out there. Mine has developed a shadow round the left hand side of the screen. I have tried looking on SAMSUN# web site, but it's like a MAZE. I bet there is a fault somewhere (MORE EXPENCE)

Jane a good idea to settle dust is to sprinkle water on the floor, then when you sweep it doesn't go everywhere.

Sorry about the mistakes in last nights post. It should have read "PLAYS" and RIP out.

Frank

Frank Report 6 Nov 2012 13:53

Oh what a bummer, I decided to clean the windows outside, as Ros was going to do insides. I had just gor the big front window and porch and front door done, and down came the rain. So abandoned to the kitchen..

Ros has made a meat and potato suet roll for tonight dinner. Old Barton receipe. Chop up Onion, swede, carrot potato sprinkle with gravy powder on a base of suet pastry. Roll up in clean teatowel and tie with string. Boil for about 3/4 hours on a simmer. serve with veg of your choice. BEAUTIFUL !!!!

I have just cleaned a net of fresh mussels, cooked in garlic, onion and white wine. Parsley to garnish. They are about ready to be turned out into a big dish, to enjoy with freash bread to soak up the juices. Living like LORDS.

Did you see Lady Grantham on T.V. this morning in a rock / blues band. Very good voice.
Happy birthday to Mr MEL and Mandy's son. Both 21 today I expect. !!!!
