Frank you and Ros must be very proud of Lewis, he is certainly turning into a thoughtful, caring young man. I can't think of many 14 year olds who would save like that for something that they want, most seem to think that their parents/grandparents are a bottomless purse!!!! He certainly deserves for you to make up the rest for him. I think one day he'll make SOMEONE a lovely husband!!! Murky old day here, so am going to watch 'Prehistoric Autopsy' when I've hoovered! I expect your James is interested in that Jane as he studied Anthropology? Must away!

Morning All an dEvening Kim,
Dull again and a bit colder I think today. Might warm up a bit later on if we are lucky.
Oh is taking me to Holsworthy later to pick up the new hoover. They have given me thirty pound on the old one which I did'nt expect!! So that was a nice surprize. :-D :-D :-D
Shan't know where I am! Will be whizzing around with it. I like the idea of no bags to buy or filters as for my old one they were very expensive for what they were and you could'nt empty the bags and reuse them anymore.
Oh's filter came today for his new toy, the dust extracter for his lathe so we don't have to stay in waiting for that to be delivered.
Jane what a todo you have had lately with all the work you have had to have sone. Lets hope it is all better by Christmas.

Mel did you decide to get the hoover with the ball? You won't know yourself :-D
Chris is home so I have the car :-D :-D.I am going to the tile shop as I need to get my deposit back.Insurance company paid the rest. Then I will go and have a look at a new place. It is home furnishings.Dunhelms (or something like that). This afternoon is hairderessers :-D
No men calling today, but there will be another tomorrow.I think this is the one who will decide what is to be done first and hopefully give me a starting date.
Coffee first :-D

I did like that new shop Dun****.Lots of very nice things.I didn't buy anything today though.I saw some nice red vertical blinds that I think would look fine in the kitchen. It is about time we had a decent shop like that here.

Afternoon All,
OH is on his way to the hospital with his dad. MIL had been told she was coming home today, but things weren't working properly after her catheter was removed so he won't be sure till he gets there. It turns out one of the poor other patients MIL thought was 'funny' because she didn't want to talk is Polish and doesn't speak much English!! lol.
Liked the joke Frank! Yes, young Lewis sounds very different to a lot of youngsters and more thoughtful of others. His parents must have set him a good example plus the influence of his PAPPY of course! I hope he is still enjoying his new school.
Mel do you fancy whizzing up here with your new hoover!!! :-D Plenty of practice for you here!! lol :-| W-h-i-z-zzzzzzzz! I bet Downton certainly will pick up for you when Mr Bates comes back!!!! lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
I had to get a new kettle the other day......don't know if I already said about it........it just let out a mighty BANG and reeked of burning rubber after. I just got a cheap silver plastic one similar to what we had before. I can't be doing with the sparkly chrome and steel ones that need lots of polishing and wiping! It only cost just over £11 as well. Now I am on the hunt for an ironing board that will fit in the cupboard, so I'm off to the big superstore near Grantham next. I was awake again till gone 3.00am this morning, so a bit of retail therapy might cheer me up a bit as I've felt a bit gloomy lately. It could be partly due to my thyroid levels dropping.
Liz, your grapefruit marmalade sounds very nice. I haven't made marmalade for years now. First OH always took 8 rounds of bread in sandwiches to work each day and he always like 4 marmalade ones.
What a shock to have someone die in your garden Jane. The poor woman finding him like that!!
Better pop my camera in my bag now, just in case there are some lovely autumn scenes through the Vale of Belvoir, although it may well be invisible in mist or fog. Will BBL and catch up with the posts then.

Oh, your name will get around asd# now Jane, you know how people talk. two men kissing you. Was a queue forming up. What did you charge a £1.00 a kiss. :-D :-D :-
Ros is back, loaded down with Christmas Crackers, presents for Conra flowerrs for Jan for tomorrow,
Ment to tell you this morning. Lewis can't get enough of his niece. He sits and cuddles her all the time, and is now even changing NAPPIES. I wasn't the bet at that with my own :-0 :-0 :-0 Messy little things.
Ann, I think we have been to that place in Grantham with Conrad and Jan. Nice ride out and plenty for the girls to see. That poor "funny woman" being Polish and not speaking English, MIL certainly made up her mind.!!! Will FIL be able to manage her if she comes home from hospital on his own. ??? or will you be nurse ??

Back and had lunch and had a go with the new hoover. It is so light after the other old turbo one. They gave me £30 on the old one!! I was so surprised so in all it cost me £219.99. Oh shan't be using it in the workshop as thats what I have bought him for his birthday. He has it fixed up so it takes all the dust and shavings as he is turning. He has a pipe that sucks up the stuff on the floor and it is also connected to the band saw and has a lot of different shutters that you open and close for the various ways of using it. I just hope it dos'nt suck up any of the bantams when they are in there as the pipes are big enough to take them!!!
Back still playing up a bit today. I walked round last night with my micro monkey stuffed down the back of my trousers. Must have looked really funny but it was lovely and warm.
We saw hedgie last night and he had his usual dish of cat food then I put out some ham fat and a load of live mealworms. Later they had all gone too. We also saw him go in the box as I had chucked some food right up the hallway. This morning I think he had been right in the inner chamber as oh had put some woodshavings on top of the leaves he put in there and there were shavings but the doorway this morning. He would have had to have a rummage to disturb those.

ooh Mel.You will be like that lady on the old Shake and Vac Ad lol. Frank sadly no queues for a kiss. But I did smell the aftershave of one of my friends on my cheek for ages .It smelled luverly :-D When I came out of the Hairderssers I nipped next door to Boo*s and bought some heat patches for my wrist.(they fit in a little pocket thing in a stretchy wrap /glove thing)So I hope they work as well as the back ones. Mel I could just picture you with your heated monkey down your trousers lol
Oh dear Ann.I bet MIL isn't too pleased about possibly not going home today.Maybe another day's grace for FIL :-D ;-).Sometimes it can take a little while for the old waterworks to get back to normal after a catheter.
Pat I haven't attempted to dry anything outside here for days now.I just use the drier or the clothes horse up in the main bathroom next to the radiator. James is hoping I am going to Handwash one of his Jumpers(it is very thick) but I keep putting it off at the moment as it will take forever to dry.
Bless Lewis changing nappies! well done him.I don't think there would be many boys too keen on that job .More likely run a mile.
Pat .When are you off for the Christening?I find it so difficult thinking of Christening presents as I'm sure the Baby will always get duplicates. So money is a good idea.People used to give Premium Bonds. But ~I think you have to buy at least £100 nowadays. . Fish and Chips eh Mandy?? Lovely.I could fancy that myself tonight. But it is Honey and Mustard Chicken (Tonight) with Rice ,Asparagus ans baby corn.Hannah when she arrives is just going to have a baked spud with grated cheese. She has the Dentist at 9.30 in the morning.Good old Fitz is going to take her(as no car here).
Now I need to go and clear a load of mud up on the stairs ,that Chester has managed to leave behind :-S :-S

Please don't tell me about gratefruit marmalade. Love it but can't have gratefruit now as I am on statins. The only squash I used to drink by the bucketfull was pink gratefruit and I used to eat pink gratefruit like oranges one a night.

Mel ,I will ask Chris, but I think you may be able to have Grapefruit Marmalade just not Grapefruit or a Grapefruit Juice.I seem to remember him having that conversation with my BIL who is also on Statins. Will let you know.
No I still can't open your Hedgy pics :-S...It's the Zippy thing :-S :-S
When I was down the lane with the dog this morning I noticed that the Badgers Sett is expanding and getting nearer the fence. The latest mound that looks newly made is only about 25/30 feet away from the lane.I can see where the Badgers have made their route from the Sett and under the wire fence and then across the lane into the grass verge on the other side and into the horses field.I would love to see the Badgers active at night.I know the people who own the stables often watch them.
It is definitely getting colder tonight.Chris is bleeding radiators :-S.Not that I think he needs to.Just turn the heating up lol

Jane it is always good to bleed the rads on a regular basis. I have to here as the one in the kitchen makes a terrible noise sometimes and it's the air going through it. I hold an old towel under the key and let the bubbles and air come out till it is running clear water.

Ian asked his doctor on Monday when he went for his cholesterol test just to check it out, and yes,you can have grapefruit marmalade if you're on Statins, it's the juice and the fruit itself that you musn't have. which is what we had been told by our former GP ages ago, Seville oranges are the same, except they are SO bitter you wouldn't dream of eating them!! We're both on Statins, and have eaten both for years with no ill effects - I'd ask your doctor Mel, see what he says!

Yes Frank, I imagine your girls will have been to the same place! Good labels at factory shop prices! :-D Mind you, warn them that they have done the place up and MOVED all the stuff around. I couldn't find my way around and am sure I missed seeing some things. There is a massive garden centre at the back, but I didn't go round that this time as I didn't want to be too late back. I'd told OH to keep in touch re his mum, then discovered my mobile battery fizzled out. I put the spare in and that was as flat as a pancake too. :-S
Am I the only one not on statins then? I've been told my total figure is a bit high, but that the ratio figure of good to bad is good.
Mel, my system won't even open your last email. It gives up after 3 minutes trying. I don't think it is the zip file that is really the problem, more likely the massive size of the photos you are sending. (in pixels) There may be some systems that can cope, but many cannot, particularly if you send more than 1 at once. I have just checked some of your previous ones and see that they don't seem to have been adjusted for sending by email. Do you know how to reduce them for email? Yours are 4000 x 3000 which is massive, but mine are even bigger than that before I reduce them to send, usually to at least half that and often to about 750 x 500ish.
If you store your photos in 'Windows Photo Gallery' I can tell you how to do it or you can google to find out. Also you can check how big yours and other peoples are by right click on an open photo, click on 'properties, then look at the 'dimensions' in the list.
