Very busy day,To the tip (again) this morning, Laura and the 'littles' came by for a couple of hours, and Mark rang wanting to know where we were both born!!! He's going to India for Xmas and needed this info for his visa!!! Jane, I've always had a lady hygenist, and have got one here, but I'm not bothered one way or the other about that or the dentist, so long as they do the job! but I do prefer a lady doctor and have had one for years, both here and in Somerset. Ian's putting Merlin to bed, and I must do my teeth (!!!) before watching Paradise, then we shall both trundle off to bed - another day, another dollar!!!

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Another dull day here . Was a bit misty moisty and everything is wet....

I used the hoover from up the caravan down here yesterday. It's a Henry and today I can hardly move............. My back hurts in places it has never hurt before. I have used him before and not had trouble. I don't know if it is because I lifted it out of the uti room and tried to do a quick hoover or what?

Note to myself :- get a new hoover.........please...........

Morning/Evening All
Just a quick one now.It is possible that our Broadband might drop out as we have a problem with our phone line.It is something to do with the exhange .So it could take a couple of days to sort.Hopefully not :-S.So if I disappear for a while that is the reason.
Another grey and misty kind of day.....but not cold yet.

Must get on as I have been sorting the phone trouble out for ages.Hopefully I will be back a little later.

Good luck with the phone line Jane. I am off to market to get chicken food and woodchips so I can clean out the bantams.

Frank go and have a look at your tree and see how William Baker 1866/7 is in the middle of Bridge children and thats not possible. The census for Rosetta and John Bridge have a dau Thurza born after William and he is not on any census by those parents.

Morning all,

I do get into a mess with my tree, Don't I ??? Thanks Mel, will have a look later, and do adjustments.

Same sort of day here. Ros has the Halogen fire on, and i'm sitting here in my underpants. HOT AS HELL !!!

Glad hedgy is having a lookseeee at his new home. Hope he takes to it for the wintewr. He would be silly to go else where the way you look after him !!!!

What will we do if you loose your internet Jane ??? I don't think you will be able to survive. not being on here. :-D :-D :-D

Have been Bugger### about on here looking at Fresh Turkeys for christmas. for a 20 pounder it's about £85.00. NO WAY I will find a local supplier either round here or in Rutland. As we will be going to Conrads. Ros and I thought that instead of spending money on ourselves, we would spend it on supplying all the Christmas faire. Jan's daughter and grandaughter are coming up from Devon also. I don't know about Harvey get, as they have their new Grandaughter, and might well want to be at home with the family.

Lewis wants a new laptop. He has been so good, he has saved almost £200.00 towards it, so again I said I will put the rest to it for his Christmas Present. Better that, than buy each other things, we don't really need. The T.V. is something I would be considering anyway.

No doubt I will buy some small things for Ros. so she has something to open at Christmas.

Not doing anything today, apart from Shower and shave, and look on eBay/Gumtree, and try to sort mt tree. ;-) ;-) ;-) That will take some time.

Afternoon everyone,

Hope you get yours sorted out .

Oh i hope Hedgy takes to his new home ,he sounds as if he's had a good look round it, with the food on tap you'd think he'd snap it up , perhaps he's waiting to see if its going to be furnished out !! :-D

Not much happening here today , Toad in the hole for tonight .

Hope Kim is ok ,she's not been on for a while and William too.

Frank, that's what we do for Xmas, just spend money on the littles, and maybe a 'bit of nothing 'for their parents and Uncle, we always reckon to contribute towards extra food and drink for the family get together, and we might buy ourselves a treat if we think of something that we would both like.
Back from the dentist, and all is well again, till the next time!!! I'm now going into the garden to sweep up some leaves, and clean Merlin's field, Millie has promised to help!!!

Frank Report 24 Oct 2012 14:59

Mel. I have tried to delete william from the Bridges, but they won't let me. I have tried back spacing all his info but that won't work either. Aren't I a little pain ????

I am having to go over all my typing as it keeps missing letters out.

LilyL Report 24 Oct 2012 15:22

Horse manure goes on a heap in the field opposite to us and after we have taken what we want for the garden, the farmer clears it once a year and uses it on his fields. Leaves almost cleared up and the pipes under the bungalow are insulated in preparation for cold weather! Enjoyed The Paradise last night, I think it is really perking up! Prehistoric Autopsy tonight, now that I am getting into, really fascinating. Record Michael Palin for another night,

Annx Report 24 Oct 2012 17:47

Afternoon All,

Glad your teeth are ok Liz! Now you can go around with a big :-D! lol. I remember when I had a small pony foal when I was 16, we kept him in the old coal shed in the garden for a few weeks until he was much tamer and used to being handled so I could catch him once he was turned out in a field. Dad dug in all the pile of manure that year and had beautiful we*bs lettuce with hearts as big as footballs!! I have recorded Paradise and the Autopsy programmes to watch later. I only started watching Paradise last week, but liked it. I see 'Minnie' from Larkrise is now 'Ruby'.

MIL is progressing fine. She had some kind of inflatable boots on her ankles yesterday to help with the swelling, but they are off now. They said she could have a shower today, but her response was that she'd 'never had a shower in her life!!' (and probably meant she didn't intend starting now!!). I think OH is quietly going mad already. MIL tends to keep repeating herself (understandable with the after effects of anaesthetic) but the conversation seems firmly fixed on what time everything happens and her waterworks and bowels!!!! OH said after last night you'd think she was part of a 'time and motion' study!! lol. Any of the other poor patients who don't feel like chatting to her she has written off as 'funny'. OH said when they got there yesterday FIL told MIL he had blacked out. I was a bit worried when he said this, but it turns out that he meant he'd drawn the curtains! IThe blackout is what they did during the war and they haven't really moved on since those times. After visiting, OH has fetched the car and picked FIL up at the hospital entrance drop off point to save him walking all the way to the carpark, but last night when he pulled up there FIL had disappeared. :-S OH had to leave the car there (not supposed to park there!) and go inside to find him!! At least he seems fine looking after himself though and has the times of his tablets written down so he knows where he is with those.

I went out for a pub lunch with my sister yesterday. She now has to use 2 walking sticks and gets very breathless with walking the shortest distance. She has been in quite a state with the MRSA she has. It all started with a cut on her leg that got infected. The trouble is the strong antibiotics needed to treat it have had side effects and she already has stomach problems from all the other medication she is on for her arthritis. She showed me a bit of her poor tum which was covered with 50 pence sized raised red patches from the MRSA. She looked just like a Dalmation with all the spots. I've never seen anything like it. She brought pics of little George her grandson and his white hair seems to be getting golden reddish blonde streaks just like my sister's colour, yet her son's hair is very dark brown. She says his eyes are pale blue like mine. ;-) I took some of my jewellery to show her and she seems keen on adding that to her hobbies list now.

Aahhh the dreaded middle age spread Mel!! It found me a long time ago!! lol. I have been looking at an advert for those new Ze*o Noodles that only have 10 calories......might give them a try.

I had to go and get a change in prescription for my thyroid tablets yesterday, the dose has been increased after 17 years being the same. I thought I had stopped feeling so hot all the time, which was quite a relief, but it looks like it was my thyroid levels dropping. Still at least my metabolism should increase a bit and I should feel less tired soon. :-)

Jane I tried to ring you last night, but just got the answerphone so thought you were having dinner.......seems it might have been your phone playing up.

What a horrible day it has been today. Went to Holsworthy this afternoon and bought myself two tops and did'nt try them on and they both don't fit!! :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Looked at the hoovers and found the one I wanted in Holsworthy. It was dearer in the farmers shop where I have an account so went back up the high street and they still had the road blocked off because of the market. I came home......................hooverless :-P

Ann in The Paradise there is also Fisher Bloom from Larkrise and we had Laura in the second one. It is written by the same person that did Larkrise to Candleford. I missed the begining of yesterdays episode as oh had the other side on. May watch it again on catch up.

DCI Banks tonight. I like that too. We also have Call the Midwife coming back this winter. I am looking forward to that.

I think Downton had got a bit boring lately but hope it picks back up when Mr Bates gets back home from jail.

Liz glad your teeth are sorted. You have inspired me to go to the dentist and get mine sorted too.

Don't they deliver Mel?

Ann when my brother Ralph was hospitalized for a replacement hip the toilets were far from hygienic. He had to sit the bum on unclean soiled toilets and the result was he got MRSA.

It was only a few weeks after his discharge that he was found to have bowel cancer.
When he asked them why they didn't find Cancer at the pre op and subsequent operations he was told quite simply they weren't looking for it :-0 :-| :-S

I haven't read your posts yet today.Just letting you know we are back up and running (hopefully)The poor chap from BT (Openreach) has been up and down poles and all sorts to try and find the trouble with our phone. It turned out it was something to do here with an old second line.I can't explain more as I haven't a clue what he was talking about :-S.Luckily James came home while he was here so he can explain to Chris what the problem was.

I was just thinking all the different men that have been popping in and out of my house .Some folks might think it is a house of 'Ill repute' ;-)

The Poor old Chimney sweep. He looked a bit pale and was very quiet when he got here.He had just had a call from his wife to say their Gardener had collapsed and died in the garden! :-(
On that note I will go and start doing something for dinner.

We have just finished bottling a load of Grapefruit Marmalade, We always make Orange marmalade in Jan/Feb but this year we were a bit up the wall and only made a few jars, so have made up the difference with Grapefruit instead of Sevilles.Just had a lovely supper, steak, chips and side salad, it really 'hit the spot'
