Yes that tree on An*estry still looks as wrong as the first time seen.

Frank's ancestors appear to be:

Christopher BEDFORD b1829 who first married Betsey FARMER (who Frank's family are descendants of) then married Mary Ann OVERY, nee HILL in1876. Mary was also previously married in 1860 to Edward OVERY who was a Seaman at the time of their marriage, then the following year he was a Steamboat Stoker in the 1861census. His father William OVERY was a butcher and Mary Ann Hill's father was a farmer.

Christopher's parents were Charles BEDFORD, the Ship Agent, b 1797 and his wife Eliza, which we already know. Other than in the censuses found, I can't as yet find a marriage for Charles and Eliza or a baptism for Charles.

Name:Mary Hill
Estimated Birth Year:abt 1839
Age:21
Spouse Name:Edward Overy
Spouse Age:30
Record Type:
Marriage
Event Date:30 Sep 1860
Parish:Spitalfields Christ Church with St Mary and St Stephen
Borough:Tower Hamlets
Father Name:William Hill
Spouse Father Name:William Overy
Register Type:Parish Register

I'm too tired now to see if Mary Ann OVERY had any children in her marriage with Edward OVERY, so off to bed, was still awake at 3.00am this morning. My bodyclock doesn't seem to know whether it is day or night at present. :-S Think I have the start of a scratchy throat too. :-S

Frank go to your tree and to Horace Edward Bedford.

You have his father as Edward Bedford 1831 click on that box and change the name to Christopher Bedford 1828 and save changes.

Ann, I don't know the names and they aren't coming up in a GR search. There is a Kate listed on one census who I think maybe Keturah judging by the age. It's not beyond the bounds of the ennumerator to mishear a name but not ten years apart! I've been looking for a Samuel Ashford this morning and it turned out to be Hosford!!!
I'll keep you posted when I've done a names check.

William

William Report 4 Oct 2012 10:09

Ann - I've just done a names check on Wickipaedia under biblical names.
Merab seems to be a male name, meaning 'he that fights or disputes'.
Keturah doesn't state gender - means 'incense, "that makes the incense fume".
They must have been a religous family with more biblical knowledge than me!

William Report 4 Oct 2012 10:13

One more bit, Keturah IS female, found it under the Hebrew section.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Bright sunny morning and thought I would put the wash out and then it fell out the sky so it is still in the machine......................tell me something new. :-(

Sorry to hear Fiona is still having trouble and the scan did'nt show anything. It must be hard to go through that experience for no result and you have to wait quite a while for that anyway. He daughters second baby must be due soon too.

Suns out again now do I chance the washing or not??????? :-S :-S :-S

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO COLIN. Hope you have a lovely day Mr Mandyx

Ros is out having her feet done, so will spend an hour trying to sort my tree. CONFUSED to say the least.

Been having a bit of a clear out today. I did'nt put the washing back on the line as it kept raining on and off so did some ironing and had a bonfire (not with the ironing) it was a load of cardboard boxes from various things we had bought and saved the cartons incase they had to go back.

Thanks Mel, I think I have got it right !!! Have a look.

Have just spoken to Conrad in St. Vincent on SKYPE. It sounded like he was in the same room. Temp. 38 degrees. They are off to a cocktail party this evening. It's now 12.30 pm out there.

Have sent Fiona an E card so hope she gets it. Just a little thing to let her know I am thinking of her. Poor thing.

Maureen, seems like another BBC mystery. Our TV magazine had Celia Imrie listed, but our on screen guide had it changed to the broadcast programme. I was enjoying Good Cop and the final episode disappeared without an explanation. I can only think that it was done because of the two WPC's that were killed. I think if they treated us like adults and gave a vaild reason we would all understand. Not the first time we've been left up in the air.
This weeks Holby was still full of arm folding, I think it must be an epidemic running through the hospital. It's turned it from an hospital drame for us into a comedy!

Hope you all enjoyed a bit of sunshine today.

I wish to give a belated apology to Patricia for my posting 29/9/12 12.33

Reference to falsies.

I was of course referring to false teeth.

Sorry Pat.

Frank Report 4 Oct 2012 20:50

Nice one David, What else would we think !!!

Have tried to catch up on tree today. ust hope I haven't made any mistakes.

Glad you enjoyed a meal out Mandy. DID YOU PAY ???? Or did you get treated.??

Not being disrespectful but I would have thought they would have had the funeral for both the P.C. yesterday/. Rather than double the expence with two services. They had representatives from all the forces around the Country. How much has that cost the taxpayers.
Has anyone watch the new ITV drama that started last week, I missed the 1st one, wondered if it was worth trying to get into it tonight. I find that if a programme doesn't apeal to me at once, I tend not to watch, and can't always be bothered to record it either.

Has been quite a fair day here today, but has turned cold now. Ros has the heating on, and i'm bare from the waist up.

Going to look round Ebay for a while.

See you tomorrow.
