Frank I made a mistake with the Cockerel. They must have moved it further down their garden.I heard both of them this morning when I was picking the beans :-S :-S
I have just realised that I missed Sheila and David's post from last night. Hello Sheila and welcome home.We were getting a bit worried as we hadn't heard anything from you. I'm glad you enjoyed your break .That is a great view from the top of the Guinness place.Did you visit that old Prison? I can't think of the name of it right now. I see Beryl is still behaving badly lolol and Donnie too scratching in his pants :-S I had a lovely time thanks but a week is just not long enough.
David ,at least someone came to your aid (even though you didn't need it lol).Maybe you should get shoes with velcro strips rather than laces!! (ONLY KIDDING) ;-)
Well I am miffed.......I have just put the heating on!!!!!.It suddenly felt chilly in here. But then I realized I had the back door open ,plus the big kitchen window (just because of the fans and dehumidifiers).I really really hope it is not much longer to go before we can get rid of them.I have had enough of the noise and feeling like I'm walking through a wind tunnel (with the fans).
I think it is Steak tonight.James said he will cook his own as he is going to pick a Chilli from the greenhouse and add it to the pan with his steak and mushrooms.
Frank the cat that used to pinch clothes here has long gone now (bless).Luckily when his owner came with the bag of various items...none belonged to me.There was a right collection of all sorts in the bag lol
Baby William's Mum (Jo) had the results of her big scan .The tumours in her liver have shrunk with the Chemo. But a small lesion (tumour) has been found in her hip bone :-S :-S.She will continue with Chemo for months I think.

Evening All,
Been a wet day here, the sort of rain that doesn't look much but soaks you through pretty quick.
David, that chap trying to help must have been a bit of a shock and really made you feel your age! lol. I have to bend over rather than squat down and I DO have some of those shoes with the velchro strips, also trainers with them. OH wears more slip ons since he retired. Our local supermarket has a few seats in the foyer part. If yours has some, sitting down to tie your shoes might be easier if it happens again.
Sounds like you enjoyed your break Sheila. Donnie sounds like 'Onslow' with that scratching going on in the presence of company!! I guess you haven't wanted much MASH since you got home. lol
Frank, OH will insist we speak to the neighbour first as he will think it is the proper way to go about it, but I don't think either of us are keen to find out her response!! I have started keeping a diary like you suggest anyway and will contact the council if she acts like she doesn't want to know when we broach it with her. Jane I see you still have your cockerels in 'stereo' :-S.
Visited MIL today. FIL has hurt his back again lifting bags that were too full on the landing. Apparently he had a job to walk back from the newsagent with MIL today. We keep telling them not to overfill bags and to have their papers delivered.....do they take any notice? They've done nothing more about having a shower put in, so FIL is still struggling in and out of the bath because it's what they prefer. They seem to have a taxi somewhere every day now, sometimes twice. We have suggested mobile hairdressers, chiropodists, but they seem incapable of change, even when it would make things easier for them. I just have this horrid feeling that instead of sorting things out now and making adjustments, it will be panic stations soon and loads of stress for us to pick up the pieces. I have always been a 'plan ahead when you can' sort of person. :-S Well, that's my moan of the day over! You can't fix things you have no control over can you! :-D
Mel, it seems to me you need to be more canny and develop the 'chills' in bed more often!!! lol :-D Mine tends to be chillier than me. :-S
I hope little William has his mum as long as possible Jane. What a heartbreaking situation.

Chris handed in his letter of intention to retire next March (with just another 6months after that part time).Apparently the lady (called Dawn) was almost in tears typing the acceptance of his letter of resignation from the Partnership . :-( :-(
Ann if your In Laws are being that difficult ......be prepared for an emergency to happen .It will be taken out of your hands then.

It looks lioke I could become a Gt. Grandad, in the next few hours. Harvey's step daughter has gone into labour.
I mentioned in yesterday' posting that Sept was a heavy month for us with birthdays 10 at the moment.
Ann, Your OH must have a better temper than I do. If I approached these people with dogs, I know I would blow my top, and end up in a big row.
Your in-laws do seem to be stated in their ways, there's not much you can do, if they won't take any notice of you. Bless 'em.

Oh heck Jane, I can't believe the time has gone that quickly for Chris to be retiring next year!!!I I found it very weird when both I and then OH retired. It seems quite a big step to set these things in motion and change your life, even though you want to do it.That is a good idea to adjust by reducing hours for 6 months first. He will have wound down a little and shifted focus more to home and other things he wants to do before he finishes. It sounds like the staff will really miss him. and no doubt a lot of his patients.
I can't say I envy you the transition though......lol. Like me, you will just have your house back in order and then have him under your feet!! :-D I still can't get used to to having to explain where I am going when I go out, when before I would pop here, there and everywhere when he was at work and he never even knew till I told him when he got home! :-D lol. It isn't that he minds one bit about me going wherever I want, says he needs to know where to send the POLICE if I don't make it back home!! :-S I suppose he has a point. lol.
Yes, Frank, he's incredibly calm and unflappable most of the time, had to be in the job he had and he was good at putting difficult staff on the spot without any unpleasantness. Not sure it will work with the neighbour though, but we'll see. Reminds me, when we were at Sandringham last week we were waiting in a rather scattered queue to be served with drinks. A chap about our age walked up, glanced at those of us waiting, then sneakily marched up to the counter from the side and started placing his order!! Suddenly OH's 'authority voice' boomed from the back, making folk in front of us turn their heads. 'So what makes you think you are next to be served?' The chap couldn't ignore him, so glanced back saying he didn't know where the queue was and then he carried on at the counter. OH then said loudly 'So that gives you the right to rudely push in at the front without finding out, does it?' All said with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye that made everyone else in the queue start smiling and tittering. The chap then stopped again and turned around, saw us all waiting for his reply and then turned and told the assistant most insistently, 'Stop, stop' while waving his arms in the air and indicated to OH with a sweep of his hand that we should all go in front instead. Job done and he might think twice next time!
So you could soon be a Gt Grandpappy!! Another September birthday for you too........do you know whether it will be a girl or a boy?

It's here, A little girl at 3.33 am this morning in the birthing pool 5 lbs 9 oz No name yet. Both are doing fine. Head wetting this lunchtime down the pub, and I suppose a few more tonight when we meet up for Ros's/Lewis's birthday now the little one too. THREE IN SIX DAYS.
Grandma was with her throughout the night, and arrived home 6.30. this morning.
Ann, You are so lucky yo have a level headed hushband, Whenever and whereever we go, Ros says to me KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT . I can very easily say something out of place, when these FOREIGN JOHNIES come pushing and shoving passed you in Northampton !!!! I just wish I was 30/40 years younger . It happenened in Spain a fair few years ago. We were all standing waiting for the bus, As it arrived Two Germans pushed to the front. I put my arm on the boarding rail, and said. GET TO THE BACK. and they knew I ment it. the rest of the queue just stood looking.
Bright sunny morning here, cold nip in the air but dry.
Will be back later.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
A beautiful morning here today but it must have been a chilly night as the bedroom windows were all steamed up this morning and it was'nt from any activity from us!!!!! No such luck................did'nt even get a cuddle last night. :-|
Heavy moisture all over the lawns this morning too and I thought there was a mist when I got up in the night but it could have been because the windows were steamed up.
Thanks to Ann for sending for the cert for Jane now all we have to do is wait and see if it tells us anything we did'nt already know. Last week seemed to pass in a flash but I bet this week will drag like anything waiting for the cert to arrive.
Must go up the tunnel today and give everything a water and remember to take my secatares? to cut the pumpkins and butternut squashes as my knife won't go through the stems. I shall have more beans to pick too after a day or so of not going up there. The pumpkins have ripened already this year but last year I had to cut them off green and let them ripen in the sunshine. They were not even orange for halloween, well only two of them. This year they are all waiting for the day! :-)

Mel, I have just thought. We were going to do a pumpkin competetion. but never got round to it, did we.????
Yes Jane, The new baby is Lara'a and Andy's They gor married last August.
Ros is out with Martine this morning, round Morriso## then a coffee and a chat..
. Ann, I never think to ask where Ros is going, !! She just says I am off to SO and Sos or to Tesc# The fact she could be gone all morning dosn't bother me, I get my quiet time for reading etc. I allways say. "drive carefully and take your time"
Had to Laugh last night. On Thursday she bought me a bottle of RED. I had two glass's Thursday night and two last night. When she went in the kitchen there was the empty bottle. She said "you soon saw that off." I said if you don't want me to drink it DON'T buy it.!!! When I think of some people who have TWO BOTTLES a night, two glass's seems reasonable. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Don't you think ????
Well I'm just going to run the hoover round, and get something to eat.
BBL.

Jane, The sun here is very warm, and as bright as a summers day. Odd fluffy cloud hanging on the wind to dry.
Wetted the baby's head at lunchtime, now going to have a REST rerady for tonight.
Conrad will pick us up about 7.00 for eight o'clock booking. Looking forward to seeing Lewis and family.
Ros has returned with a bag of cloths, two tops, trousers, shoes, and pull ups (if that what they are called) Tights are my name for them. !!!
Trust Hannah is not to stressed out over her credit card. Hope she has a nice weekend with you , and the family.

Afternoon All,
And congrats to the new Gt Grandpappy on the new baby girl!! <3 <3. Glad baby and mum are fine. I bet you will all have a great time celebrating tonight. I can just imagine Lewis with his birthday cake.........does it have all the candles for each year on?
Jane, I bet Hannah was pleasantly surprised things weren't worse at your house. I expect she must have pictured a bombsite in her head!! :-S. I hope meeting her friends tonight takes her mind off the credit card business.
I have sent you a PM.
I can't make my mind up what to do now. I was going to Rockingham Country Fair as there is jewellery for sale and I wanted to see what it was like. Then I decided it wasn't really worth paying the entry cost for the whole thing, just to look at the jewellery, especially as I'm going to a bead fair and sale at Dunchurch tomorrow and could spend that £7 there!!!! lol. Now it seems a shame to be indoors when the weather will be bad again tomorrow. Think I will nip out and put a few of the plants I bought in the borders. I want them all in before winter.
Mel it must be the recent sunshine that has ripened your pumpkins this year. We have pounds of tomatoes all ready at once now........more to cook down and freeze I think!!

You can't get the staff. . . .
To help compensate for my troubles with my new computer, Argos sent me a voucher for £15. I decided to get a new L*gitech slimline USB keyboard in their catalogue at £14.99. Just the job, so I went to the local Argos store this afternoon, gave the female assistant my chitty and my voucher for £15 and she said "Would you like to have this on the Argos buy-now-pay-later scheme?" I just politely said "No thank you" and went and sat at my collection seat. Is it me?????
And then you can . . . .
On the other hand, a guy left a leaflet in the door yesterday saying he did all sorts of tree and hedge work. For a long time we've wanted to get our front conifer hedge cut by half but all estimates have been a joke. I'm getting arthritus in my finger ends now and it's difficult for me to keep the trimmer trigger depressed. Anyway, we rang him last night, he came at 9.30am, we bartered the price, he was back in half an hour with his truck and gear, two hours later the hedge was half it's size and he charged us to do the whole job what the last guy wanted just to take the foliage away. That's what I call good business - and while he was here, the guy accross the road had him back to half their conifer. Win win all round

What a beautiful day. Make the most of it, as tomorrow is supose to be terrible, rain and rain, and more rain. I don't think they are getting the forcast right., as at the moment you can't imagine a bad day tomorrow.
Did anyone see the breaking up of whatever it was it the sky last night. From what I heard on the radio it was some sight. ??
William that was a win win situation, I had promises from people, who said they would top my big tree, I ended up doing 90% myself, and my neighbour did the rest. NO CHARGE
Ros is making a necklace, so she can wear it tonight. INSTANT JEWELLERY.
