Thanks for your good wishes! :-D The meal at the garden centre was good......special deals. We had pork with stuffing, roasts and new pots and 3 veg, tea, and a pudding all for £14.90 for both of us instead of the normal £26. :-D

I went to another garden centre on the way home......saw 2 lovely pussycats there, such friendly tabbies, took a pic of 1 on my mobile. I got some very small Persian pearl tulips and a white and maroon alpine pink while I was there. They had christmas trees on show...all lit up!!!!!!. When I got home OH had put the washing out, got the bins in off the front and was ironing away!! :-0 :-0 Then the penny dropped.......there was a footie match he wanted to go to tonight! He thought I might say no it being our anniversary, but I didn't as I didn't fancy going out, so he went off saying how lucky he was...... I agreed!!! lol :-D

Happy birthday to little Chelsea! <3 Five years old already......where did the time go. I hope she liked her pressies. I had to laugh Mandy.......OH would have headed for the Coffee Shop!! lol.

Happy birthday to Joel too......hope he doesn't practise with that bat indoors Kim!!

Sorry to hear about your DIL's father Pat. I seem to remember you saying about him being ill too.

Mel, we keep getting daddy longlegs coming in at night.........the way they clumsily crash into you.....always the face or in your ears too, you'd think they were blind. The woodlice are coming in as well and spiders, although we get a lot less now the trees on the front have gone. Next it will be pitter patter in the loft as the mice move in. :-S :-S

I have just sat and made a little gift box for jewellery.....not perfect, but might be useable. Meant to say Frank shame Ros didn't sell more, of her jewellery but even our teacher said she has had days like that. It depends on who is shopping like she says. I am off to a bead fair at Dunchurch Village Hall on Sunday. Sorry to hear you haven't been as chipper today. A rest will do you good anyway as you put me to shame with what you do. That's quite a wait to see the doc.......to think once you just turned up and waited your turn.

I enjoyed Downton Abbey and am still catching up with Parades End.......still not seen Alice's car yet. :-S

Morning/Evening All,

Well I knew I had to be up early to take my car in this morning but didn't expect to be awoken by barking at 6.20am. :-S Grrrr.

What a battle with the traffic to get through the city rush hour these days........glad I don't often do it any more. When OH gave me a lift home from dropping my car in he decided to drive 14 miles to the next junction to get on the M1 to go to Northampton as the one just down the road was all snarled up with stationary traffic.

Just had yummy poached eggs on toast and a cuppa, so better get on with some paperwork and then maybe clean the insides of some of the windows, I noticed this morning the sun was showing how mucky they are and it must be inside as the window cleaner did the outside 2 days ago! :-S

Frank boiled water is good for indigestion and drink it as hot as you can. Thats what I had to give mum if she got up in the night. She could'nt face the thought of a Rennie or anything like that. That is also what they give the old folk in the home up the raod to us and it seems to work every time. Try it! ;-)

Morning everyone,

Lovely day again, blue sky with just a few clouds whizzing along on the wind .

Sorry to hear you had another restless night Frank.
Happy Birthday to Ros , are you cooking her some thing special tonight ? or treating her to a meal out ?

Is that dog still being a nuisance Ann, must be getting to the stage where you will have to have a word with the owner now , no joke being woken like that ,good job it's not every day !!!

I use to love poached eggs on toast , but since i had the food poisoning with the eggy omelette it has put me off all things eggy now .

I'am off this afternoon with a friend to a lovely garden that open up four times a year and all proceeds go to a charity , she sells a lot of plants all at three pounds each,it was one of the places that our Radio Norfolk visited on their treasure quest game last sunday , so will see what she has for sale .

Right better tackle the ironing pile :-S :-S

Happy Birthday to Ros .I hope you spoil her rotten today Frank :-D.I know you will.

Mandy I hope all has gone well with your BIL's op.I think our hospital was on Code Black the other day(many days I think really).

Pat I only ever knew 1 Grandparent. My Granny Richardson.Scary lady she was :-S.I didn't see her that often as she lived in Scotland. My Nana (who was my Mum's Aunty) and brought Mum and her 2 siblings up was really just like a Grandmother. But I never knew either G Father or Lottie ,Mum's mum.
You are so right about families living far and wide these days.I think it so sad really. My Sister's Grandchildren see her and her OH every day, even little William is spending much more time with Janice these days.So they are a very very close family.(Even though Janice finds it a bit exhausting at times lo)
Bit like you Mandy with all your little tribe
:-D

Well my first man has been and gone.He reckons once we are dried out all the work should take between 2 and 3 weeks.I can't wait .He has gone of with a bit of wall paper to see if he can find a match.I thought I was going to have to do that. Also he is going to pay off the rest of the tiles so I don't need to go in and do that either :-D.All I need to do now is find the receipt for the wallpaper!.I think Chris will know where that one is.

I think I might just have to put a different top on.Something with some sleeves.I just went down the garden and it felt a little bit chilly. There seems to be quite a lot of cloud building up now :-S

<3 <3 Happy Birthday to Ros <3 <3 Did you end up getting her a surprise pressie too Frank. I think surprises can be a bit tricky sometimes, but Ros has so many interests it gives you a lot of choice. Sorry you had another bad night. Maybe it was the F&C and that cream cake! Have you tried an extra pillow, that can help too.

I can just imagine Mocha squeezing in on your lap Pat! He knows where the best places are.

I can see why you miss your grandchildren Pat as they grow up so fast nowadays. Keeping in touch in ways you can will help though. I didn't see all that much of my grandmother after I was 8 as we lived over 50 miles away from her and didn't have a car. She had 38 grandchildren in all and was still looking after her own children till in her 80s as 2 of her boys never married. They both worked at the pit like grandad did till he was 78 so there was an awful lot of washing for her to do. She had no electric so it was done in the copper with a dolly and mangle. I don't think she could have coped with weekly visits from that many grandchildren as well!! I don't remember any birthday or christmas presents from her.....far too expensive to buy for that many. I did get little gifts of things like magic painting books, crayons, blow bubbles and a doll when I had pneumonia and a Ladybird book which I still have. I have very fond memories of her though as she was a caring and kind person. It was peace and calm at her house after the shouting and rows at home. She would sit and talk to me and let me try peeling potatoes and do toast on a toasting fork when I was little, whereas dad thought children should be 'seen and not heard'. I sobbed in bed at night in secret when we moved away from her and thought about running away to live with her, but knew I would only make things worse for myself if I did so kept it all in and put on a brave face. :-D

That's good that they could go ahead with your BIL's operation Mandy. A bit worrying all this shortage of beds though!! I hope he makes a good recovery so he can soon be more mobile again. I think I would have gone off eggs if I were you too. I'm still a bit iffy about ham at times as it was ham in school dinners that gave me a bout of food poisoning once.

Afternoon all,

You seemed to have been busy.

Not sure what time Conrad is calling, he might ring to let us know.

Ann, I have also ordered her some Nylon pliers, for her tool box.

She had a nice book from a freind, about beading, lots of info. about weaving beads. (Didn't know you could) Neighbour bought her three bags of small flower bulbs. Won't know about the boy's till the wekend.

My nan, the only one I had.,( I never knew the other or my grandads) lived in Canning Town which was two bus rides away. She died in 1953. So I only got to see her as a child between 1945/53. Nobody went out unless you had too during the war.. and of course I only went with mum and dad. as a child. and that wasn't often.

My children lived just round the corner from my Mother, and saw her most day.
Even after I divorced and moved to Northampton, they were still close by her.

Oh what a lazy day I have had, reading and dozing in the armchair.

Ros has a line of coloureds out at the moment, so I will go and see if they are dry, and bring them in. (What a good husband) <3 <3 <3

You could have offered to all my washing in too Frank :-D.But I have beaten you to it....and it 's all ironed :-D :-D.I knew not having the car would make me get on with more things at home.
I just had a call from the gasman .He will be here in about 30 minutes.I mentioned that the pump seems to have actually stopped working completely now.You should have heard him groan lolol.I think it should have been a quick job I did say I would put the kettle on ready for when he gets here :-D

I will put my feet up for a few minutes I think.
