Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Sep 2012 09:11

Raining here today and dull.

I enjoyed Wartime Farm yesterday but I wish they would get their facts right regarding the chicken they selected to kill. Alex said it had a dark red cone and wattles which meant it was an old one. Dah!!!! he had kept chickens long enough now to know that a chicken with a red cone etc is one that is laying. When they go out of lay their cone etc goes pink. As to it having callouses on it feet, it was probably bumble foot which some chickens get but it dos'nt affect the bird in any way really unless it is so bad they can't walk.

As to the mushrooms Ruth was picking. We saw her pick one large one that had white gills but when she put the cut muchrooms in the dish she was preparing all the fungi had brown gills. This could be harmful to some people who think they can go out and forage for fungi with white gills as some are very poisenous.

Moan over and the sun is breaking through so off to tidy up after a bowl of cereal and my pills ready for when Di comes.

Morning /Evening All
Dull here too Mel ,but dry and breezy.
What a start to the day I have had.First thing I was just rearranging my pillows and discovered I had been sharing them with another of those HUGE spiders. :-0.Cheeky thing.Needless to say it quickly had it's sleep disturbed and found itself flying out the window. So I then settle in to have my cuppa and read my book.Next thing is I hear a loud bump and spot a ladder at the front window.(Window Cleaners).I was starkers and just managed to leap out and hide myself away around the corner by the wardrobes.Chester was on the bed growling and staring at me.The chap must have realised I was there lol I always draw back the curtain at the front window as I like to look out over the fields when I have my tea.I wish they would give some warning that they are here when it is early in the morning.
The pump in the airing cupboard is still playing up so I have the Gas man coming back at some point today.I am keeping fingers crossed it will be a different one from yesterday.

Morning all/Evening Kim.

Jane, If the WC had seen you, he would have fallen off hid windon. and first hing in the morning. Ros always puts on her DG. in case someonr walks by, plus she won't let me see her naked.

Many HAPPY RETURNS Fiona, 21 years old again <3 <3 <3. Hope you have a nice day.

I was stationed at Wes Rainham, so wan't that far from Sandringham, also Conrad worked at Heacham, opposite the lavender farm, and again not far from Sandringham, so we visited there when we went to see him.

David. If you take your Focus key to a "KEY CUTTER" they will be able to do you one from a blank, for about £10.00.. It the same with Radio Codes. £40/50.00, where as if you go the a car radion shop they do it for next to nothing. NEVER GO THROUGH A MAIN DEALER. I should know.

Clear blue sky now, few clouds around earlier. Must have turned cold in the night, because when nI got up at 7.00 the heating had come on, and its set at 18 degrees.

Where's our Liz.??? and Kim???? Shelia ???

Sorry Jane, missed your question, No the photo was taken at a canal show in Coventry. The two boys were Harvey and Conrad and the girl was a friends daughter.

Ros has just put a line of washing out, and picked some tomato's She likes them orange rather than RED. She has also put some on the sills in the conservatory, to rippen noff a bit more.

Shower and shave time. see you later.

Jane

Jane Report 14 Sep 2012 11:32

Frank ,we have little Orange Tomatoes in the greenhouse.Much sweeter than the red ones :-D
Gasman here.(not the one from yesterday :-D :-D).This one is looking a bit perplexed and trying to fathom out why the pump won't switch off).I only rang up about an hour or so ago ,so that's darned good service.

Ann ,I have never been to Sandringham.I think it better go down on the list of places to visit.Sounds like you had a lovely time there.

Man gone.He has ordered a new circuit board for next Wednesday and it will be him fitting it :-D.

Now do I put the towels out or not???? There are some dark clouds around :-| :-|

Afternoon everyone,

Fiona ,if you do look in <3 Happy Birthday <3 hope your soon back with us <3

Quite a wind today ,with a little shower a while ago.

Ann, Sandringham is about twenty miles from us , its lovely there when all the Rhododendron's are out it's a mass of colour then, its a while since we did the house tour , i remember the dining room , and walking through to the cinema room and out into the stables were all the royal cars are kept , we drive pass the big gates when we go that way to Hunstanton , they are always closed ,but there is a little lodge on the side of the road that we pass and if that gate is closed then we know there are royals about , the Queen drives round on the roads in her Range rover when they are there for Christmas.

The National Trust's Blickling Hall is another nice place to visit if your this way too.

It's a good job you live in a house and not a bungalow Jane , at least you get a little warning that he's about with the banging of the ladder on the wall :-D :-D

I think we're doing a bit more in the shed this afternoon, gradually getting rid of all hubby's rubbish, :-D although it's not rubbish to hubby :-S all bits he's collected over the years and never used !!

Ann I have been meaning to ask you if you have been in Leicester city centre and seen the digg they are doing there. Something about King Richard being buried under the council houses car park?? Have you heard anything???

Frank

Frank Report 14 Sep 2012 14:45

Mel, I saw a bit on the news last night about Richard 3rd. being buried under the car park. It's on our local news, so will look out for it tonight.

Frank

Frank Report 14 Sep 2012 15:07

I didn't submit that post, It just did it.

David I forgot about these chips in the keys, It looks like it will have to be Main Dealer. But you could keep the spare for getting in the car. !!!

Ann, have you changed your Email address, ??? I had an error notice this morning saying they could not send a message to you. !!!

I could just see you Jane with that spider. Ros would have run out ofr the room and slammed the door. I would have had to go in and find it. When we were at Gayton. We went out on this Saturday night and left Conrad in his bedroom, mixing his music, as in those days he helped with DJ ing. When we got home about midnight, a voice was callind dasd, dad, dad, I went upstairs and he sat on his bed pointing to a massive spider in the corner of the ceiling. He was mesmorized by it and couldn't move. He had been there for about three hours. Silly B, never thought of getting out of the bedroom. :-0 :-0 :-0

Ann, Hoped you enjoyed your cinema trip. What did you see. The last fil;m I saw was "sweeny todd" and before that 007. We never seem to go to the cinema, but Ros does when Lewis is here.

Spots of rain on the wind earlier, but looks quite bright at the moment.

Been getting those phone calls again , I have just lost my temper big time. The Bastar## won't take no fror an answer, so I insult them and put the phone down, then get myself upset !!! Ros said don't answer the phone. we can do a 1471 and see who it is, then if need be we can ring them back. Why should we waste our money doing that because of these F ####### people wasting my time. !!!!
That my moan fror today

Steak, mushrooms, onions, peas and chips for dinner tonight. A nice big RIBEYE.

Jane Report 14 Sep 2012 17:14

Calm down now Frank .It sounds like you are hot under the collar :-| :-|. We have been getting a few of these calls again this week after a few weeks when they appeared to have stopped.

Did Ann say it was the new Meryl Streep film she was going to see.I think I would like that.

Looks like it is turning into a lovely sunny evening here.

Mandy I think next time the Window C comes I will ask that he knocks or rings the bell first (if it is early morning). When you think there will be lots of people getting washed and dressed and parading around in the buff getting ready for work/school at that time of the day.

Did Lacey get her new milk today???

Hi Shirl .How are you? and how is your Son?Have you managed to sort his meds now?

Frank I will be checking my bedroom tonight before I get into bed>I really don't fancy sharing my pillow again with the a Spider that size again.Sheesh it was a whopper
:-S.I just got a shiver then lol

Hi everyone
this is Fiona's OH.Fiona is still ill and unable to use the computer but has asked me to come on to say a BIG THANK YOU to all her friends on GR who sent her lovely cards wishing her happy birthday.
She is still waiting for an appointment for her MRI scan as doctors will not commit to a treatment until they have made a diagnosis. The waiting is frustrating for her and some days gets very down and wishes it was all over .She is now in to the 5th month of headaches and irritating scalp .
Fiona wants you to know building work is complete and we are now at the exciting time of buying new tables and chairs, chosing wallpapares and accessories..On easier days Fiona is able to manage small trips to the shops .
Hope that everyone is well sending all her love to you
