"WELCOME HOME" Jane, good morning to all you others/Evening kim.

Glad the weather was good for you and that you had a good time.
Have you got any old carpet/rugs, you could put down in the kitchen/utility room ??? It would save the sharp bits going in to your slipper soles.

No you haven't missed much APART FROM ROS HAVING TWINS !!!!

I bet Chris will be on the lawns today, or has James kept them under control ???

Got things to do, so will be back later.

Frank Report 9 Sep 2012 13:55

My that wind has got up. The one outside :-D :-D :-D

Have put a few Daffs in and cut and trimmed the back lawn. Ros is busy in the drive trying to get rid of all the weeds coming from next door.

Grazed three knuckles this morning, now the Bs won't stop bleeding. I see in the paper this morning that some of these blood thiners can cause Apendisitis sp One they mentioned is one that I am on. Will have to check with Doctor. Don't need that at my age (THANKS)

The cherry tree is starting to shed it's leaves, the lawn is already covered down the bottom. Autumn is on it's way !!!

We won't eat till late this evening, as Ros dosen't like eating at luchtime anymore, so will be about 7.00 pm
I see Davrid Wear has won another GOLD thats 4 . I'm not sure what our total is but over 120 Great for all of Gt Britain. So PROUD of all the efforts. . <3 <3 <3

It has brightened up now at last here but there is quite a breeze.

Frank the leaves on our red mapley tree are starting to fall too. All in the two ponds and on the new decking. Oh has sucked them up once (with the garden vac/blower) but there are more there now.

Oh is mowing after a very large breakfast at about 12.30pm. Suppose I should go up and do a bit more on the border after I have washed up. Try and get some order into it before the winter comes.

Mandy that willow colour is quite nice. I have the top door out of the wall painted in Seagrass which is anothe rof those colours I like. Also like the sage.

Have a good afternoon all.

Afternoon everyone.
Phew! it is a hot one today. But very breezy now.It nearly lifted the gazebo :-S
Frank I can't put rugs or anything down as the floor has to dry out.The fans blowing are just puffing up all the cement dust so we are breathing it in and probably eating it too :-S :-SI keep wiping off the worktops and cooker but within minutes there is another layer of dust.

Pat poor Mocha and his tummy trouble.I feed Chester a dried food now called Barking Heads. It is for dogs with sensitive tums and I find it brilliant.I buy it now off the internet as it is a bit cheaper than from the pet shop.It is Salmon and Potato.Might be worth giving it a try.

Mel Chester was beside himself when I got home you should have heard the racket he kicked up lol.He spent a good 10 minutes licking my feet and toes(that is like his comfort blanket) :-D

I still haven't gone through all the posts(sorry).I just got snippets.
Shirl I hope you have managed to get your son's medication sorted for him now. What a worry it must be for you ,but as you said at least he is nearby this time.

Ann what was the castle you visited?Lovely pics.
Mandy I thought of you when we were at the COAST :-D.I so miss the sea :-(

It is James's last night on nights tonight. He has a week off an is going to York with Jess on Wednesday for a couple of nights as it is her birthday. Then he will start his new day job shortly after they come back.It will be good for him to be working days and be working with a team of people rather than him just on his own.
Hannah starts her new job on Tuesday in Research at Kings London. She is really looking forward to it.

I have picked so many Runners and French Beans today ...they will be coming out of our ears.I don't think James has done enough watering while we have been away.I think he just gave everything a tickle of water lol

Fitz popped in earlier. He has his big body scan next week and is fretting about it.
I told him I'm sure everything will be fine.(Fingers crossed it will be)His Mother is still in some Community Rehab place but is making no real progress. So the bottom line is (I think it will be residential care).

Well I'm sat outside here on the patio chatting to you all while watching Chris tidying up all the borders :-D
I now need to go and start dinner for James so will BBL

It certainly isn't cold here Mel.I have just had to shut the patio doors ,just to keep the bugs out.Now it feels all stuffy.
Watching the closing ceremony of the Paralympics .What an amazing games it has been.I have thoroughly enjoyed both Olympics :-D :-D
Coldplay is on now .I love them.

Just a little cheeky thing ;-) My Sister went out for a meal on Friday for someone's leaving do and the waiters were called Waiters in the Buff. All they wore was an apron to cover the front bits, but from the back just a lovely view :-D :-D.I think I might have enjoyed that ;-)

Will say Night Night now.See you in the morning .

Mel I made a mistake they were called Butlers in the Buff (not waiters)lol
I have been sat at the Renault garage for the last couple of hours while they fixed a fault in the anti pollution device. It was something to do with Oxygen :-S.The car is still under Warranty so no expense :-D
So just having a coffee before picking the next lot of beans for dinner.

Good morning all/ Evening Kim,

Cloudy here this morning, what a change from the weekend. !!

The postman has just come with my pansie plugs, will be a busy boy this morning planting that lot up.
,
Recorded the closing ceremony, as I wanted to watch "SCAPEGOAT" very good it was too. Well thats my opinion. Did anyone watch the Bletchley Circle last week, thats on for three weeks, also Mrs Biggs five weeks. ITV are getting a good bit of drama latlely, not before time.

Ros is busy ironing, so I will get to and pot up the plants.

See you later.

Maureen

Maureen Report 10 Sep 2012 15:19

Back on the computer now the weather has turned, for most of last week I just sat in the garden in the sun reading a book.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday Jane, hope Sheila had a good time too.

Yes Frank, there seems to be quite a few good dramas on at the moment, watched all those you mentioned, especially like the Bletchley Circle, I read a book once about the code breakers during WWII really interesting.

I'm off to Tenerife next month for 10 days with son and family and a friend so have at last charged up my Kindle ...... bought for me Christmas before last ........ and never been out of the box. Has anyone read any of their free books, just wondered if they were good or not, haven't heard of any of the authors before.

Frank

Frank Report 10 Sep 2012 17:43

Maureen, Contact Jane, she has two discs of books, I sent to her. She will pass them on, so you can load them on your Kindle. There are some great books. Bletchley park is only about half hour from me. I have been over once, and nmight go again, as neighbour has some free tickets.

Didn't do my plugs, they have to be left in a small amount of water for 24 hours, to get over being boxed up. Will do them tomorrow, all being well.

We have sat for THREE HOURS watch the Parade of the olympic teams. It was fantastic, thousands of people everywhere. They gave an estimate of 1,000,000. Everybody looked like the enjoyed it.

Evening all,

Much cooler day today , although it seems really warm indoors , and the wind seems to have got up this afternoon, there was an almighty crash just after lunch in someones garden so some thing had blown over !!

Oh i say Jane, ;-) i bet the apron strings were double knotted LOL

Hubby had the day off so we went out for lunch which was nice.

I quite fancy a Kindle ,but i also like a book if that makes sense , will have to drop a few hints for Christmas .

We haven't heard from Kim for a while have we ? hope she's not really poorly again .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Sep 2012 19:21

So do I Mandy.

Done the shopping and have to get dinner now. Bought a lasagne to cook. I will have salad with mine and garlic bread and I will do a chessey jacket for oh.

Been raining here but when I went into Bideford it was as dry as a bone and sunnyish!! I bought myself a new shirt.

Jane

Jane Report 10 Sep 2012 19:22

Lucky you Maureen.Bet you can't wait to get there and soak up some rays :-D

The wind here has been very strong .I had to get James to get the canopy off the gazebo.Hopefully we can get it up again soon.I have a right old dust here this afternoon.I doesn't look much different really but made me feel a bit better lol

Fitz's Mother has been taken to hospital this morning from her rehab place.Looks like she is quite poorly. He is going in this evening to see what the problem is.She is almost 90 now and will certainly not be able to go back home again to live.I think the kindest thing now would be for her to gently slip away :-(.I don't mean that to sound heartless but I think she has had enough.

I bought myself some JACKS when I was away .I showed Jess them and she had no idea what they were lol.Told her I will show how to play tomorrow :-D :-D.I spent hours as a child playing Jacks in the playground at school .I was a bit disappointed that the ones I bought didn't come with a little drawstring pouch to keep them in :-S

Just cleared the decks outside now as it looks like it might be a rough night. My Sister says the rain has already arrived in Tewkesbury.
I better go and get dinner sorted.James and Jess are having theirs now so second sitting coming up lol.
