Hi all,

Just heard from Ros, The weather is very bad, thunder and lightning, and the marque they are in is flooded. They had to paddle back to the coach. They have just left, like drowned RATS.

We are starting to get the rain here, but still quite bright. No thunder and lightning YET.

No Jane the coach that they are on, is the one that took them. So no open top tour. I will no doubt hear all about it when she gets home.

Back in the 60s, I toured Scotland and stayed in Dundee, didn't have any cakr offered to me. How tight can the Scots be :-D :-D :-D :-D Sorry Shirl had to get that in!!!!.

The house is like a new PIN. all hoovered, dusted ,washing up done, and cushions all puffed up.

I have bought her a kilo of Pontifract cakes as a surprise. from eBay, together will some more Jewellery beads. So I will be in her good books when she gets home.

Annx Report 25 Aug 2012 18:04

Hi Everyone,

I was out in a storm too, sheltering at a bead sale.......thunder, lightning and rain lashing down, then more rain since I got home. Poor Ros Frank......I bet the coach windows will all be steamed up!!! You get 10/10 for getting the place hunky dory for her return. :-D I love those soft liquorice cakes, haven't had any for years. A nice surprise for Ros......should last her for a while. lol.I think Mandy is right.....how many more brownie points do you need?:-D :-D lol.

Shirl, Dundee was one of the places I was looking at!! :-D I think we may go next year now as we will need an overnight stay on the way there and back and OH has meetings booked the day before and after.. I should have started planning sooner!!! I am looking elsewhere now......

Kim, I know I would be on python alert every time I set foot out of your place!! :-D I wonder where it hangs out the rest of the time.

OH is on his way back from a match at Boston. I would have gone with him, but he didn't make his mind up till the last minute and I had no chance to 'google' what was about!! MEN!! lol.

Annx Report 25 Aug 2012 18:18

Well done to your Monster Shirl! Now she will have money in her pocket to spend on her gran!! OH applied for the last 2 jobs on line and then got interviews. It seems to be the way these days, although you worry something may get deleted accidentally the other end! :-0

Jane Report 25 Aug 2012 18:26

LOL Mandy I thought that too about the Pontifract Cakes. My Mum loved them and then wondered why she had a bit of a funny tum.

Shirl ,that is great for your Monster.A bit of money in her pocket .Is it a big MacD or a little one?.Hope she realises she will be smelling of Burgers and chips lol

Well after all the thunder and lightening we had no rain !!!.The sun came out and it was lovely .There is still blue sky but also some big clouds still hanging up there.

It's like the old days here. There is a bowl of water on the carpet in which Hannah soaked and pumiced her feet :-S.Her feet have now been smothered in moisturiser and wrapped in cling film plus a pair of my socks :-D :-D

Frank I expect Ros is home now.I bet she will be exhausted after her trip to London.
Shame that the weather was so awful for them earlier. But it sounded like she has had a great time.

I haven't seen Shirl's emails !!!!! They sound a hoot .PLEASE can someone pass them on to me :-D

Honey and Mustard Chicken with Rice,Asparagus and Runner Beans for dinner.
I'm quite looking forward to it.

Hannah and John are going to go to Peru next July and I have been looking through the Itinerary. It looks fantastic. Then they have 4 days in the Amazon even more fantastic.I think I might be a little bit jealous as I always wanted to go to Peru.
Don't think I will doing that now :-S.What an experience though!

Have sold the caravan and it has gone!! Hooray! Didn't quite get what we asked for it, but near enough. I am VERY relieved to see it go! Stella has settled in pretty well much to Millie's disgust, she has a 'disaproving old aunt' look on her face most of the time, L will be back on Wednesday, and Stella is being returned on Friday - she's not being too bad at all considering the weather and the unfamilliar routine. Having Merlin's paddock has been a godsend as she has really raced up and down, much to Millie's horror!! Kim,I wouldn't like a resident Python at all,it would make me feel very nervous!! Weather mixed, teriffic thunder storm at midday, followed by sunshine and showers, could be worse!!

Frank Report 25 Aug 2012 19:11

Ros just rang, She's just left Milton Keynes, now on their way to Northampton.
Carolyn and John are having a Kentucky Fried Chicken fot their tea, so Ros is getting the same for us. Haven't had one for over 30 years. Hope I still like it !!!!

The pontifract cakes will last her ages, She has a few each night. ;-) ;-) ;-) Say no more.

Had quite a lot of rain, but no Thunder and Lightning

Good news Liz, I bet you are glad to see it gone, but it did you a good turn didn't it ??

Shirl, I coluldn't tell you that. It's so long ago. We went to Fort William, and worked our way to Inverness, The cairngormes. Tomatool the highest village in the highlands, Down to Edinburgh and back home. We also went to the silver sands of Mora. What a beautifull country it is. Keep saying I will go back on a coach tour.

Didn't stay to watch all the West Ham match. There was a bloke in the pub, with the loudest and most annoying laugh you have ever heard. It got that my brain was ready to burst, so rather than make a sceen, I walked out. The people around me were also complaining. Will have a quiet word with the landlady when I see her next. There is just no need to upset people because he can't or won't control himself.

Going to get the trays ready, and plates. We can have tea on our laps tonight.

There is something about KFC Frank.I only like the fillet of chicken (don't like wings and legs).I don't like the chips either.Mum loved a KFC and every now and again Dad would drive the 9 miles to get one for her.My Sister loves the Zinger Chicken (I think it is spicy)

Liz that must be a relief to get shot of the Caravan at last.I'm glad Stella hasn't been too exhausting for you.Bet Millie can't wait until she goes home lolol

XFactor stars tonight ......that's your favourite programme isn't it Frank??? ;-)

Here I am at last oh has fixed the pooter but I don't know for how long!!

He has been working on it all afternoon. It would'nt go on the net this morning and then he had to go out to ring for a wedding. He changed all sorts of things over and then back again and eventually he got in on the net. So here I am.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Aug 2012 20:21

Shirl for some reason I don't get some of your emails :-S.I just hope someone can send them on to me.

Mel long may you stay :-D :-D.What has been the problem?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Aug 2012 21:23

Jane I rang you today on your mobile and left a voice mail.

Oh turned the pooter on this morning and it just would'nt connect to the web. I can't tell you what was wrong with it I think it is just getting Just read all your posts. Kim I would'nt like a big snake like that around in my garden. It is bad enough when I find snake skins in the tunnel after the winter but they are only smallish. I think it has it's eye on your black cat for it's dinner so she better whatch out.............

Sounds like Ros has had a nice tour with Carolyn. I like pontifract cakes too.

Maureen thanks for the pics of the boys, and oh said they look like they could be right little bruisers. Such lovely smiles on two cheeky faces.

Annx Report 25 Aug 2012 21:39

Have just forwarded Shirl's emails Jane.....hope you get them ok.

Well done Liz......better to get a bit less than hang on for the full price and have it on your hands for ages. I can just imagine Stella tearing up the turf with her speed round Merlin's field!! lol Just what she needs though. :-D I bet Millie wonders what all the excitement is about and will be happy to get back to normal.

I have never had a KFC .....never fancied one somehow, yet I used to love chicken in a basket and that's nearly the same I imagine.

I did have the bean thingy with cold chicken tonight and I loved it! Thank you Jane......think I will put more garlic in next time though. There is a bit left so I might try seeing if it will freeze alright.....be handy if it will, will use up any surplus beans this year!!

My sister got the necklace today and I think it did cheer her up as she has never called anything I have done fantastic before! lol. She's still feeling ill despite another change of antibiotics and some antisickness pills. She has managed to get an appointment with her own doctor on Thursday now and will see what she says.

Oh ,it was you Mel!!!.Chris brought my phone in to me and said it had been ringing in my handbag.I didn't recognise your number.Tried my voice mail but just got a long noise. For some reason I can never receive voice mails on my phone. No idea why. :- S
It is best to ring my house phone.

Thanks Ann for Shirls emails.Just wiping my eyes from the first one lol.Thought that was so funny.
How nice that your sister thought her pressie was fantastic :-D :-D It really was.I do hope she starts to feel better soon. She must be feeling pretty grim.

I am off to bed now.I seem to have been left all alone.Even Chester has slunk off in the corner behind the dining table.Lord knows why he has suddenly started sleeping there at night :-S :-S :-S
Sleep well everyone .See you all in the morning x

Morning/Evening All

I see I am first again today.I woke up with a painful hip and back so decided I would be better off moving about. So I have had a wander down the garden with Chester. He suddenly disappeared right under the Yew Hedge.I think he caught the scent of Peter Wabbit !!
I will just get my 2nd cuppa and watch a bit of the Real A&E.

MEgirl Report 26 Aug 2012 09:20

Morning everyone,

Another nice day, although I didn't get up until 1.30 pm :-S :-S Just dozed all night, not a proper sleep. Was going on the treadmill, but thought better of it.

Shirl your monster will be over the moon to have her own money to spend. My girl sometimes works in the bakery at W**lworths and comes home smelling of cakes and pastry. She tells me what they use to make everything, so I won't be eating anything from there again.

I was thinking about that needle approaching your eye. That would be the worst part seeing it coming towards you. You are very brave.

We used to have a Maccas once a week, but stopped that years ago. Don't tend to eat any take away apart from the occasional Chinese.

Not much happening here. OH and family enjoyed catching up with the brother from Victoria. Their team won so they would be flying home tired, but very happy campers.

Liz it is such a relief to sell a caravan. We had a huge one which had a few leaks, but otherwise in good condition. My parents lived in it for a while when they came to live with us in Victoria. It sat unused for a while before Keith's brother bought it for his son and refurbished it. I was glad to see it gone.

A sad day with the loss of Neil Armstrong. He was always very humble, but played a huge part in our history. Always to be remembered.

Watching the news now, so have a good day. Tacos for tea tonight. 6.17 pm AEST
