Morning Mel and all and Good Evening KIm
What a beautiful day.I am going to get cracking clearing the lounge of all the stuff that needs to go back in the kitchen cupboards etc. Then steam mop the floors. After that I will escape to see Fitz for an hour or two.James will be asleep as he is working tonight and Jess will most likely be doing a bit of tanning in the garden.
Mel I hate those planes that fly so low we sometimes get those Hercules .The house feels like its vibrating and you can even see the shadow of the plane on the lawn as it goes over :-S
Right I can't sit here chatting .I must get on .so will BBL
David I did sleep well :-D

Morning all/Evening KIM.
I think I will call myself "HOUR BIRD" I woke at 3.03 am and every hour till 7.00. but feel a lot better than yesterday.
Glad you are all enjoying the fine few days, lets hope it lasts so we can get a "SUMMER"
I'm not cooking tonight. Ros is doing Pasta. It's something I like, and should look forward to eating.
The lawn is too wet at the moment, but will get that done, so I am free for the weekend. Also the green bin goes out on Monday.
Bumped into an old pal yesterday, he want's to know why I haven't been up the club. So I might surprise him and turn up tonight.

Morning everyone,
I haven't caught up on all your posts, just bits here and there.
Jane it's amazing you still have your humour and sanity (or have you?). It's been a tough few days for your and more to follow. When do you go off on your holiday?
Maureen has gone too and Sheila's off next. I posted a picture of Hadrian's Wall on fb the other day. I have been getting lots of nice pics of the British Isles. It is fabulous to see all these places.
Mandy I hope the cold has improved and your neck too Sheila. However do you walk in those high heels? I wear tiny heels or flatties these days.
I have been on the treadmill twice this week, that is the first time in many months. I believe the new meds. are helping a little. I am still using the drops for my eyes and have an appt. next Tuesday for a check up. I believe I will definitely need new glasses in kid's frames like last time.
Frank I hope you are sleeping a little better and have gotten over that episode you had. Thank you very much for your pics. Your canal and the walk is so pretty.
Actually thank you to Mandy and everyone else who has been sending photos. Jane I am still having trouble coming to grips with this new computer. Thank the Lord that OH is up to speed with everything.
I love the men's tight shorts too. Got to get my jollies any way I can these days. ;-)
I used to be good at the hurdles and sprints in my school days and played a bit of softball. I always enjoyed sport back then.
Well off to have my cuppa before the lights go out. We are having terrible weather battering winds and rain and heavy seas. Had a similar storm 2 months ago. So I will say goodnight to all. Have a good day. 9.23 pm AEST

A Clothesline was a news for forecast To neighbours passing by. There were no secrets you could keep When clothes were hung to dry.
It also was a friendly link For neighbours always knew If company had stopped on by To spend a night or two
For then you see the fancy sheets And towels on the line You would see the company, table clothes, With intricate design.
The line announced a babies birth To folks who lived outside As brand new infants clothes were hung So carefully with pride.
The ages of the children could So readily be known By watching how the sizes changed You'd know how they'd grown.
it also told when ilness struck. As extra sheets were hung Then nightclothes , and a bathrobe too Haphazardly were strung.
it said "Gone on Vacation now" When lines hung limp and bare. It told "Were back when full lines sagged With not an inch to spare.
New folks in the town were scorned upon if wash was dingy gray As neighbours raised their brows And looked disgustedly away.
But clotheslines are now of the past For dryers make work less Now what goes on inside a home Is anybody's guess.
I really miss that way of life It was a friendly sign. When neighbours knew each other best By what hung on the line.
I love my washing blowing in the wind and thought you might like to share this poem

Lawn all done and trimmed. Ros and I sat outside for a sandwhich and drink.
She is busy doing one of the borders. The bind weed is everywhere, coming through the fence from next door.
The cats have been round again, I have now put down broken glass to try to deter them. The plants Ros put in on Tuesday were all over the drive and the lawn. :-( :-( :-(
We are pesered with Barking dogs, one in particular is at it at all times of the day and into late evening. The other morning it woke Ros at 2.30 AM She was not a happy bunnie.
It's been a very warm day so far. I am on my sun lounger, reading my book, while Ros continues to work.!!!!
Nice poem Shelia, as a child I would come home on Monday's from school to a line the whole length of our garden. 120 ft. Full of White washing. As Mum got it off the line, Sheets, Towels, pillow cases would be put through the mangle to flaten them out before ironing. It was my job to turn the Handle. I was still at JUNIOR school, so not even 11 years old. We had to work in those days before going out to play.
My Dad being a Naval Man, made a line that went about 15 foot in the air. It had pullies, that you pulled the rope and up it went. Then another that went even highter. All was well until in very heavy wind the line sometimes BROKE, and the washing would end up in the apple trees and in the flower beds.Mum was not pleased.

Sheila, absolutely loved your poem. We still like to hang our washing out on the line, so we try and plan our washing days (not too many of them at our age) in line with the weather forecast - although that's not always accurate. But, like the washing line, my barometer is much more dated but reliable. There's nothing like the smell of washing that's been put out to dry in the fresh air, you can't beat it. I even try to co-ordinate the colour of the clothes peg, but I guess for some that is tantamount to OCD - I don't care though, it makes me happy. We still have two wooden clothes props which ensure the washing gets way up and subject to a 'good blow'
You can keep your dryers, ourdoors is the place for us.

Today we went out for lunch to the usual place we often go to on Fridays. We just go in the bar for a carvery, not the posh restaurant. Yikes, there were 2 coaches of wedding guests unloading when we got there so we didn't stop!!! Too much queuing and noise!! We carried on up the road to a garden centre that recently changed hands. Not impressed with gritty lettuce and helpings were far too big and quite expensive so that one is off the list now. lol. It was air conditioned though which is a plus this weather.
I liked the poem Sheila....reminded me of the billowing sheets on the line as a child and being told not to get dirt on it. Frank, the line would stretch right down the garden along the path like you say and you had to get the prop positioned just right under it. Mum would not be happy when the line broke either!!!
David, the tyre was just a middle of the range price so I dread to think what the dearer ones would have cost. My previous car had to have a new tyre the week I traded it in and I got a very cheap remould for that, less than £30 I think. Those you have found are real bargains.
Well, I think sitting about is the order of the day so will go and get something fizzy to drink and have a flop till it cools down a bit.

Ann,£30 .I'd begrudge paying that when I could something as good for half that. If you've a spare wheel you can have another spare.
My problem is not tyres or the changing of tyre when necessary,my problem is my knees, getting down is simple, getting back up has become increasingly difficult and some times painful.

Hi the days been better today Beryl came over she said my bag stinks of dead birds but I ignord the comment I thought the bird had been put in her vanity case not a bucket bag anyway.
Today Beryl was dressed in a pair of bright yellow trousers a top with sexy Queen on the front and grab me on the back she had it done at a shop .Her hair was pink . Her finishing touch was two little bows in her hair which was in two bunches. I think she sits the night before thinking how silly she can make herself look.
My red shoes she told me would look better on her. We chatted about old age and she said my money will all go to the donkeys .my hubby said oh Donnie will benefit after all and that did it she had her coffee and went home in a taxi she frightened the poor guy to death he was a little pakistani gentleman and she said .take me to the Licky area he said oh very beautiful location and Beryl said shut your face and get driving. He went roaring off down the road. Poor man.
We have a new washing machine and loads of washing I do hope it lasts longer than last time. Next year we have to do some serious saving.
My coller came off this morning .Jasper was so naught there was this little white cat asleep on the fence it looked so cute. it had lost half a ear but his little face was cute he did not move and I enjoyed watching him until Jasper frightened him off.
Well teas ready husband s done a huge kind of eggy rice it looks nice but there is enough for a dozen people.
I do hope Fiona will be alright did anyone enjoy the Olympic opening everyone I spoke to said it was rubbish. I liked it but was a little confused at times.

Oh so glad everyone liked the poem nice for me to have something nice to send Beryl drives me mad and so thought I would send the poem before she showed up today. Your comments were well appreciated i love to see my sheets blowing in the wind yes colour pegs William I use those and have had dozens break but still use them loved putting my clothes on the line and sending it high into the air. Rushing to fetch it in when it went dull. My mum used to fold her sheets in half and peg them she was in the garden for yonks she had so many to fold when my grandad was poorly.
Ann we tried to get in a carvery the day I had my teeth impression there was loads of people waiting to be seated. so went came out. gritty lettuce is not on i once went to a carvery a lady bumped into me carrying a very heaped up plate and covered me in gravy. i do avoid them most times now.
Jane the games have been great did anyone see those ladies playing with there balls, rings ,and things they were so thin tall and graceful I enjoyed it but they mostly looked the same. i kept thinking shes been on here already . We wont have anything to watch soon.
Frank mum hung her mats and just about everything on the line once she hung my dads best suit on the line to freshen it up and someone camedown our entry into the garden and stole it. Mum did not tell my dad and he searched for the suit for months wore his old one until it nearly dropped off and she did then own up to what happened. The poor man then went looking at every man around to see if they were wearing his suit.
Had better go now so much stuff sent today IM FREE WHO SAID that the coller did itch.

Kim ,I go on holiday on the 1st.The same day as Sheila. For 1 week.I wish it was a bit longer.10 days would be nice as I find it takes Chris a couple of days to unwind. I think I still have my sanity lol but do admit to being a bit grumpy at times I thought the plumbing side of all this would have been a lot worse than it actually was.I think maybe when all the floor tiles have to come up and then if they have to screed or whatever that will be far worse :-S
James is now at work in the Summerhouse and Jess is looking like a lost soul .She never likes to have him out of sight .Joined at the hip comes to mind.I think tomorrow when James is asleep I will have to take her out somewhere.
I wonder if our Frank has gone to the Club??
I had better put some food on for Chris and me now.Just an easy Lemon and Pepper Turkey Escalopes , Potato Wedges, Peas and baby Carrots.
I seem to have missed Tom Daley diving.Has anyone seen it? How did he do?
