Hello all,

A bit cooler today, we had a 20 degree yesterday. At least the sun has been out today, but more rain on the way.

Sheila I must go back and check all my messages as I thought I had answered your last message. A dead bird in the vanity case, I would not want to be within cooee when she finds that!!

All quiet here, nothing to report.

The family is having curried sausages, but I will just have mashed veg.

Frank we used to have a wonderful hospital system, but with each government in N.S.W. it has got worse. No funding, but they seem to have money for other trivial things that could wait. The private system is good, but first port of call if you go by ambulance is one of these terrible public hospitals that we have on the coast.

Mandy hope the pool will be alright. We had a girl stay over the other night and the airbed went down and the other one needs a patch too. :-S Can't blame the cats as the beds were boxed up in the garage. That's 3 now that are no good.

I will hopefully BBL, but if no have a pleasant day everyone, nothing too strenuous in the heat. 5.47 pm AEST

Morning all you early BIrds and evening Kim,

Still nice and sunny here is deepest Devon.

The minute you get nice weather you also get the flies!!!!!!!! and I hate the buzzy ones :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Oh found another leak in the puddle yesterday while I was out and fixed it. He has this special black sticky tape stuff that is like soft rubber. You stick it to the surface and then peel off the backing paper and stick a bit of pond liner to it and press it well in. This morning the puddle has'nt gone down at all. So thats good news :-)

Morning one and all,

Very hot again this morning, with the slightest of breezes. Won't cool you down, but will will get burnt in the sun, so be carefull.

Ros got a bit burnt in the garden on Monday, She had a top on with straps, and it looks funny, I have covered her back in after sun. She now has a strapless top on, but hasen't been in the garden since, She is busy ironing with the big fan blowing on her.

Late last night while watching tele. The BIGGEST BLACK SPIDER. came galloping across the carpet. Ros let of a cry of "HELP" and put her legs on the sofa. It was so big I even didn't want to youch it.!!! You could have put a
saddle on it, and ran the Grand National, and I think you would have won !!! After about half hour it came out from under the table and went up the wall, I managed to grab it and put it our the window. Hope it wasn't the baby. won't want to meet the parents :-D :-D :-D

Ann, I have made a note of your flowers, It's something I will try in my pouches on the tree stump next year. I was out watering at 8.30 pm last night. surprising how long it takes to get around all the pots etc.

Mel, Pleased your little pond is fixed, I have been looking at treatments for my DUCKWEED problem. It seems there is no real cure, other than gettting it all out. I mi8ght sit under the shade of the cherry three and start scooping it out with the net, Hope I don't over balence and end up in the pond.

The little boy next door, has friends in to play in the garden. The balls keep flying over the garden fence. Then there's a knock on the door, "CAN I HAVE MY BALL BACK PLEASE" after 4 times I said this is the last time today. When I got up this morning there's the RUGBY ball sitting in the middle of the lawn. I suppose it will all start again this afternoon. :-D :-D :-D
"LITTLE DARLINGS"

Still no news then Jane, When and where is the wedding they are suppose to be going too. It will seem strange if only one turns up. Even worse if they both turn up, and it all kicks off again.

Afternoon All,

Up again and out before 8.00am. We got the rotary spike fixed without OH hitting ME with the hammer! lol OH did some weeding and tidying up and went behind the bottom fence into the field to cut the brambles a bit lower. I replanted a few small things that were around the old spike and levelled up the paddle stones round our tiny....... well if yours is a puddle Mel, ours is a drip!! lol. We are having a break now as we have run out of steam as we did a loft of lifting and carrying yesterday. We are going out again after a nice rest, but I'm popping to the garden centre down the road first. One of our Berberis shrubs has been stripped of most leaves and when I looked it up it seems that a new weevil pest was imported with a plant a few years ago, so I need some insecticide.

You made me laugh about your spider Frank!! :-D I've noticed a few flies and bugs have been coming in since this hot weather started and we have one of those plug in things that are supposed to kill them too. Duckweed is a right pain and I think the frogs bring it in from other places. You will just have to fish it out a bit at a time Frank.

Good news about the plumber Jane. It will soon be fixed now at last. I have been looking for some new comfy outdoor chairs that fold this time. The ones we have look nice, sort of bucket chairs in woven plastic, but the plastic has started to crack and fold up ones would be easier to get in and out of the garage and to store. I hope you manage to get your relaxing chair!! It sounds rather nice.

Pat I have sent you the pic again....just hope it works this time.

Kim, I think I would prefer your temperatures at the moment, but not too much rain. I hope Joy is being careful now and that doesn't have anymore falls.

Mel, I hadn't seen this Begonia before so it was a first for me. I tend to just let the flowers drop off so they haven't been dead headed. Glad your 'puddle' is leakfree now. Is the fence panel to extend what you did before?

Better get a shift on now, BBL.

I've given up sitting under the Cherry tree. Those little thunder flies are everywhere, even managed to get under the screen of my Ebook. Now it looks like I have coma's and full stops everywhere.

I hve found the perfect back scratcher. ROS has a little rake thing she uses to collect the leaves from the back of the boarders. I have given it a good scrub, and put it by my arm chair, "
IT REACHES PARTS OTHER SCRATCHERS CAN'T"

I*'m doing Jacket Pots in the oven tonight, with Ratatouille, ham and coldslaw ( Had to look that up :-D :-D :-D

Ros has popped to Tesc# to top up with Salad stuff, and do the Lottery, we don't do it, but tomorrow they are doing 100 millionaires, so worth a couple of quid

Good news about the LEAK then Jane, More work clearing everything away. The plumber might give you a hand if he needs to get anywhere, you haven't cleared. THEY do tend to HELP OLD PEOPLE <3 <3 <3 <3

Fans on, so will sit and finish my book.

Phew its hot out again, had to toddle off to Fakenham to get some granulated water softener salt for the pool ,our merchant only had the tablet form ,i did notice that they are beginning to cut the corn , it was first field i have noticed ,that should get rid of the little midges ,they seem to get in any where.

I should think your garden is beginning to look good now Ann, looking forward to seeing it all finished.

You are a joker Frank :-D fancy cleaning up a garden rake for Ros :-D
You use to see those Back Scratcher's sold in the shops at the coast ,like a little hand on the end of a stick , i don't know if they still have them .

It looks like the patch has stuck that hubby put on the spa , just wonder if it will be ok once we start to pumping it up !! so if you all hear a loud bang it will be our spa!!!

Jane Report 26 Jul 2012 16:11

Touch wood I haven't felt any thunder flies yet today Frank. But it feels the right king of heat.HUMID HOT :-S.I just stuck my feet in the paddling pool while I sprayed Chester with the hose.He promptly ran indoors after a quick roll on the grass and rubbed his back all along the furniture .I think I managed to get a pic of that.

Ann you are so busy in this heat.I really don't know how you manage it.
Not looking forward to the disruption and noise tomorrow.I will probably go and sit out somewhere in the garden while the bit of floor is dug up.Poor James will be asleep.(well trying to)

There are no relaxer chairs left totally out of stock even on the web site :-S :-S :-S.I had to laugh as Fitz's OH was there too wanting a couple more.So we were both disappointed.
Have cleared all the worktops and window sill now.I think I will empty my tall pull out cupboard as that would be the most likely to cause a problem. So I'll get that done now

Jane

Jane Report 26 Jul 2012 17:17

Phew .That job's done.I can't believe the amount of tins and stuff that was in there.Chris is the culprit .He buys tins of soup, tins of Tuna ,tins of different kind of beans, all sorts. Then all the rice and pasta, spaghetti ,packs of this and that.I haven't seen some of it for years. One pack of Chicken Stock cubes had a sell by date of 2005 :-0 :-0 :-0.When it was empty I realised how disgustingly filthy the bottom was.So as I don't want to be seen as mucky mare I cleaned it out, plus the work tops.Chris said I am mad lolol. When you think what state everything will be in tomorrow !!!!!! :-S :-S
Now I have just thought the water will be turned off.So have asked James to buy a load of bottled water on his way home from work in the morning.

I'll send a pic of Chester. But if I can't send it to you all at one go it will be one at a time and will take me a time :-D

Last week, Ethel checked into a hotel on her 70th birthday and she was a bit lonely. She thought, "I'll call one of those men you see advertised in phone books for escorts and sensual massages." She looked through the phone book, found a full page ad for a guy calling himself Tender Tony - a very handsome man with assorted physical skills flexing in the photo. He had all the right muscles in all the right places, thick wavy hair, long powerful legs, dazzling smile, six pack abs and she felt quite certain she could bounce a sixpence off his well oiled backside.... She figured, what the heck, nobody will ever know. I'll give him a call. "Good evening, ma'am, how may I help you? . . .. Oh my, he sounded sooo sexy! Afraid she would lose her nerve if she hesitated, she blurted out, "Hi, I hear you give a great massage. I'd like you to come to my hotel room and give me one. No, wait, I should be straight with you. I'm in town all alone and what I really want is sex. I want it hot, and I want it now. Bring implements, toys, rubber, leather, whips, everything you've got in your bag of tricks. We'll go hot and heavy all night - tie me up, cover me in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, anything and everything, I' m ready!! Now how does that sound?" Voice at other end said, "That sounds absolutely fantastic, madam, but you need to press "9" for an outside line."

LOL David.Has this hot weather been affecting you ;-)Or maybe you read 'that' book :-D
Oh gawd Chris is tacking up a dust sheet between the lounge and kitchen. To be honest I don't think it is going make much difference at all :-S.The plumbers will probably have to pull it aside .Chester is getting all agitated wondering what the heck is going on here.Good job he is going to my neighbours tomorrow.I had planned to do Pork Medallions ,Saute Potatoes and veg tonight. But now I just can't be bothered .So it is Oven Cooked Breaded Haddock ,Oven Chips .Our own Peas, freshly picked today and Asparagus and baby corn. Then I will be off for a shower and hair wash as i feel really grubby.Bet I will feel even more grubby tomorrow :-S

I am looking forward to watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics tomorrow night. Will you all be watching?

I have sent one pic to just 3 of you so far of Chester Has it arrived please? It is still a bit hit and miss .

Jane I had an email but no picture on it. :-( :-( :-(

Went to Brook's in Cornwall today to see if they had a fence panel. No they did'nt and their cobbles were £10 a bag. Bought some plants there, a nice bushey black grass, a couple of Rhodosomethings, small with grass like leaves and lovely tri petaled deep pink flowers and two YELLOW BEGONIA'S something like Ann's for the big urns I had'nt put anything in yet.

Came back to Holsworthy Devon and looked in West Devon and Cornwall farmers shop but they did'nt have anything we wanted either. So off we went to Cornwall again the other way to Homeleigh just outside Launceston. They had a panel top with the wave and a panel with a flat top so I bought those. The top panel was £32.99 and the straight one I think was cheaper. Anyway I ended up spending £102 something for five bags of cobbles and the two fence bits. Then we had lunch. They had a dog show on at this garden center as the Launceston show was cancelled so the carpark was packed and it is a BIG carpark.

Got another pond plant too. Very tall with a lovely blue flower on it.

All planted now and cobbles in place.

O I forgot I also got a little alpine plant with sputnix on it and they stick together a bit like burrs. Never seen it before and fell in love at first sight. It is so commical. I will tae a pic to show you.

Evening all,

Ended up cleaning the windows late afternoon. The sweat was pouring off me, and I was covered in black midges. Straight into the shower, and back outside in the air to dry off.

You have had a good time then Mel, enjoying spending money and getting things you wanted and liked. Good on you gal.

Jane I bet you will be in a right old mess in the morning, what with the dust and the noise of the drill digging up the floor. If James can't sleep, I would take yourselves off somewhere for an hour or so.

Mandy, does that mean I can come for a dip this weekend ??? Hope the patch holds up.

Going for a cold beer, and either a sit in the garden or a bit of Tele.

Very busy day here, Laura and her entourage arrived at mid-day, and it was very good to see them. Edward certainly keeps us on our toes, he is a smashing little boy, (5 on Tuesday) and told me that he really LOVED me!! The girls were lovely too, although Polly (12) hasn't that much to say, adolesence seems to be rearing it's head, however Alice (9) was very chatty and helped me get lunch and clear it away, so a gold star for her! Mark's here tomorrow as he's promised to help OH with fitting the chimney for the log burner - we certainly see much more of them now we are closer. Now sitting having a quiet drink, and watching a film on Sky!!

Hope you don't get too much mess tomorrow, those breakers for the floor are noisey old things ,don't think James will get much sleep, could he have a nap in the summer house ?

Pools all up, will fill up with water tomorrow.
Yes Frank, bring your swimmers , the water will be cold ,every thing will get shriveled up you know LOL

We'll be watching the opening of the Olympics , what is all this about bells ringing at 8.12 in the morning ? are you ringing Mel ?
I expect our church bells will be ringing out.

Will say Night Night now ,off to have a shower.

I don't know what I am doing wrong with the emails :-S.I will have to wait and ask James to help me .
I think James will probably be better in his own bedroom tomorrow as it is at the other end of the house. The Summerhouse might be a bit too close lol

Chris and I have been having major discussions about Rachel and her behaviour.(still haven't heard anything). He says she will not be welcome here again until I get a serious apology from her and that she understands that she was totally out of order.( we wait and see).I am just disgusted with her at the moment and don't really want to speak .Enough now on my plate with all the plumbing hassle.
I am off now.Hopefully I can set up my Laptop in the summerhouse tomorrow.
Night Night x

PS Janice is coming here on Sunday while her OH goes to visit his Daughter(from first marriage).I am so looking forward to that :-D :-D

Morning and Evening All,

Another smashing day here too.

I have my sister in laws coming down to stay on Sunday, three of them and probably Stephanie too so I have an awful lot of things to do. The first being to clear out the spare bedroom which I have been using as an ironing room. Barbara will have to sleep in there the other will sleep up the caravan. You won't see much of me in the next few days so don't worry about me if I don't get on here.

Shall try to keep up with your posts.
