Morning everyone,

It has been sunny here today, but getting cooler and more rain from tomorrow.

Jane I hope you find your earring in the cleaner. We have just traded in our old Dyso* for a new one and it should be sent any day. They are so good, but the motorhead went on ours. Not worth fixing. Am sorry to hear that your sister's knee is not much better. My friend had her's done and it took a while, but she eventually recovered pretty well. Sorry Janice is in that small group. Good that Fitz's mother will go off for rehab and he will have some respite too. ;-) My friend is a Janice too. You will have to send some more pics. of little William when they are available.

I saw this frail little person approach my front door this afternoon and there was Joy. :-S :-S :-S My goodness only on one stick and very doddery. We got her into a chair before she went down again. Oh it's such a worry. She is refusing to use two sticks and is back in the garden and up to her old tricks. I can't believe she won't take more care, she was in hospital 6 weeks this time. Bl**dy hell!!! She's been fiddling with her plants, bending over and lifting things and on it goes. :-| The cat (Cosi) is delighted to have her back home, but it won't be for long if she keeps this up. She has the nurses and various services attending to her again, but she is so stubborn.

She doesn't look very well, apparently thyroid and kidneys shut down and her meds. have had to be changed. I don't think she realises how close we came to losing her. I did give her a bit of a lecture, but she just winked at me. :-P

Ann so pleased your OH might not have MS.

Frank our summer was terrible too and our winter is just a continuation of it, apart from the odd sunny day here and there. I hope it comes good for the games. I love the Olympic village, they have done such a great job, world class.

I might go and have an ice cream have not had one for ages. Have a good day. 10.07 pm AEST

Kim.I have Pm'd you.
What a pity Joy isn't being sensible and using both sticks. It doesn't bode well does it??? :-S.I wonder if`i will be as stubborn when I get 'old'.

No good news on my Dyson.I have been through all the dust and muck twice and can find now sign of my earring :-S :-S.Will have to have another good look around my bed again. It must be somewhere.

Must get on with a bit more weeding :-| :-|

Afternoon al last. !!!!

Ros was up and away by 9.30 this morning, gone to the "BRAMBLE PATCH" Where all the women make things, like cot blankets and covers for one parent families, and little children who are not cared for by their Mothers. She's there till 4.00.

After she went, I made a Lasagne for tonight, and scraped some of my new potato's. Ros will do the salad when she gets home.

I then went to tackle the garage. I strugled like Hell to get the old freezer out, tipped it on it's side to drain all the water out, and washed down the driveway. Then it was a case of sorting out loads of rubbish, which has filled the Black Bin, and we still have till next Monday before it's emptied. I have sp much room in the garage now that I am going to "OPEN A DANCE HALL"

I then decided to lawns needed cutting, so I got on with that. It looks a bit like WEMBLEY out the back. All my lines on the lawn and the edges all trimmed. Tony, my neighbour came out and did his lawns, He only mows as far as he can, then leaves the rest, it's about a foot high round the edge. LAZY BUGG##

Hope the Email today didn't offend anyone.!!!! SORRY if it did !!!! The others I thjought were quite funny.

Did you find your ear ring Jane ??? do hope so.

Kim, Sounds like your old neighbour will need constant care and attention. Has she any family around that can do the choirs. ????

What a palavor Ann, with the hospital, You can always expect the smell; of CURRY around most of the Hospitals, SAY no more !!!!

Well it looks like we have had our SUMMER TODAY. Nice warm day, with a pleasent breeze, I think I will have half hour on the patio with my E book

Jane, I have PMd you.

Mel what a clever OH you have building a computer, How does he know what bits he needs ???

Maureen Report 17 Jul 2012 16:09

Well that was a miserable day you had at the hospital Ann, at least you came away with some good news about OH.

Today looks like the only day without rain but I've only just finished ironing so haven't got the energy to go swinging that sledge hammer around now. Still got the main four posts to get out, might have to do some digging as son has set them in those spike things that go down in the ground.

The £50 table is brand new and still in box Jane, 99p one says it's never been used but has sat in their garage for a couple of years. I like both, it may just come down to money in the end, what's the point of something expensive just to sit out in the rain :-0

What a busy little bee you are Frank, good to see that you haven't overdone it though and have made time to sit and read. My Kindle is still in the box ..... somewhere ....... I still have a never ending supply of books my daughter passes on to me to read.

I do admire people who are technically minded, probably because I'm not, I just can't work things out, could never even get a rubik cube to come out right

:-P

Jane Report 17 Jul 2012 16:44

Maureen ,for some reason I was thinking it was a table for indoors!.You are right why pay a load of dosh if you can get one you like just as much so much cheaper for the outdoors. When does all the bidding stop??
I have had enough weeding now.Doesn't look like I have done any, there are just so many.I wish I had kept my gardening gloves in though as all my nails are disgusting and splitting now :-S :-S :-S .I will have to get the varnish out later.

I have told Fitz I will go with him tomorrow to visit his Mother :-D :-S :-D I think he is grateful to have some company lol

Maureen

Maureen Report 17 Jul 2012 17:27

The £50 one has 2 days and the 99p has more than 4 days. Talking of tables reminded me of the time I went to buy our first garden set, son met me at H**mebase and we bought a nice wooden set it wasn't until we got out to the car park that we realised the table top wouldn't fit in my little Niss*n so I sat in the car while he went back in and bought string, he put the table top on the top of the car and then wound the string through the window and out through the other one and over the top of the roof, he did that several times until it felt secured. Off he went on his motorbike to college and I drove home. It wasn't till I got home and tried to get out of the car that I realised I'd been tied in and couldn't open the door. I felt really silly calling out to some workmen across the road, they came and rescued me and even carried the garden set indoors for me. Shan't make that mistake this time, will get son to pick it up in his van. ;-)

Just got a lovely burn on my finger.I picked up a hot empty dish that I had put on a hot ring which i had turned off :-S :-S Ouch! Ouch!

What a bloo** fiasco the security sounds for the Olympics :-S :-S.I'm glad I'm not going. It's disgraceful. :-| :-|Lord knows what visitors coming from abroad will be thinking. If I was one I would be having second thoughts about coming.

Annx Report 17 Jul 2012 20:41

Evening All,

What a nice day it has been for doing outdoor stuff, not too hot, DRY and bit of breeze. I did a bit more planting and putting weed fabric down, then slate chips. We are getting on well now and just have the border at the bottom to lay soaker hose in, then the rest of the plants go in and we can start putting weed fabric down and wash and put all the gravel back. OH went and fetched 3 more bags of slate chips. There is usually a young lad to do the carrying and putting in the car, but he wasn't there today so OH had to do it himself!! I was chatting to the lad at the weekend when we fetched some and he told me that he'd lost 2 stone in weight in 3 months doing the fetching and carrying!!

Pat, we were a bit concerned as the GP had mentioned it and asked if any family members had it. It was bad luck your brother got it so young, but I think I have read that it usually happens around that age. The other thing that put us right off at the hospital was that the consultant did a huge sneeze into his hands before turning to shake OURS!! Yuk, yuk!! The first thing we did when we got in the corridor after was find a toilet to wash them!

Dance Hall Frank! :-D I'd better dig out my ra-ra-skirt if you are putting your blue suede shoes on!! lol. ;-) You have been busy in the garden, stripes and all. We were done in after our stint today so you had the right idea to have a read of your book.

Kim, what is it with some of these older folk that they take silly risks. Joy needs to take care not to fall. or will be back in hospital like you say. It is good she is independant and trying to get mobile but 2 sticks would be best while she is so unsteady. FIL is still climbing in and out of the bath with a struggle.....silly, but do they listen???

Mel, you are lucky having an OH who is good with computers, especially if he knows enough to have built one. My OH shouts me if he can't do something or if something happens and I have to sort things out if I can!! :-S Remember this is the man who has had 2 glove boxes in his car for over 4 years, but thought there was only one until the other week.!! ;-) lol

That's a shame about your earring Jane, maybe it is at the back of the bedside cabinet or probably right under the bed. Thanks for the video clip of little William, he looked a very content and sleepy little boy. I bet Fitz will be glad of some company to see his mum!!

Maureen, I can just picture you 'trapped' in your car!! We got a 6ft piece of trellis home like that once, laid on an old towel on the roof.....think we shut the doors after we tied it on though. Here's hoping you get one of the tables, they both sound good!

Early start tomorrow, OH's car is in for the AIRCON to be properly fixed.....MORE EXPENSE as Frank would say. Then we are off to B*Q to look for an energy lightbulb downlighter for the kitchen. It is 1 of 3 and was supposed to last 6 years!!!! Typical, we can't seem to find a replacement the same now.

Morning all and Pat if you are awake yet,

Well it's not good news. I walked up the corridor at 3.30 this afternoon and the ambulance passed by. Yes it's our Joy again :-( :-( Someone had been there today to do some cleaning and other people. She went out into the garage without any sticks to empty the vacuum bag or barrel, not sure what she has, and fell face first into the concrete. She was bleeding from the face and possibly cracked some teeth. She has hurt her knee and other parts. She will never learn. If she took more care or waited for someone to come tomorrow and empty it none of this would have happened. Bl**dy mindedness and everything has to be done yesterday. Don't know whether anything is broken, but she is a regular at Gosford Hospital so they will recognise her AGAIN.

She was meant to be coming up here tomorrow to have her hair cut (my hairdresser is coming to the house), but that won't happen now. She was quite with it and cheeky as ever, I guess that is part of the problem too.

Jane so sorry you didn't find your earring. I hope it turns up somewhere soon. What is happening with your security over there? I thought things were going so well, apart from the clogging of the traffic which I saw on the tv last night. The cabbies are not happy. Have sent you my email address too. I lost a lot of mine when we transferred over to this new computer.

Thank you Frank for your ongoing funny emails. They cheer my day no end.

Ann yes these older folk (much older, lol) do silly things. Your FIL is a stubborn one too I see. ;-) Joy's bathroom has been fitted out beautifully and all done while she was in hospital the first time as she had previously fallen into the bath and was there for nearly 2 days. I would have been gobsmacked if she'd fallen in there, everything is padded and fitted with handles, etc. Oh my goodness, how disgusting for a doctor to do that. He should have washed his hands immediately before touching either of you, yuk. Then they wonder why patients catch infections from dirty hospitals and negligent staff. :-S

Maureen had to laugh at thoughts of you stuck in that car with the table on top, so funny.

Pat how is Mocha doing - have you all recovered from your big weekend??

Is there any word from Fiona?

Hi to Shirl, Sheila and anyone I have forgotten. Off to catch the end of one news and rest of the next lot so I can see what's happening over in your area. Hope the weather is kind to you all today.

Sheila lucky you weren't a ten pound pom all those years ago. You would be up for this blooming carbon tax which is killing our country already.!! Stay put. xx

Kim so sorry to hear that Joy has had another fall. Poor thing but they are so independant when they are older. Mum would'nt use a stick or a frame when she could'nt walk very well. We had both and she said she felt like an old woman using it. I said "you are". I hope this will teach her a lesson and she will be more carefull after this. I hope she has'nt done any real damage to herself and they can sort her out. Poor puss will miss her yet again.

Frank yesterday I was trying to make a post but I typed and when I looked up there was nothing in the box!! Tried to start again and it then came up but without the other half of what I had typed.

Jane ask the Borrowers for your earing back three times and see if it turns up.
