Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Wiiiiiiilllliam Happy Birthday to you <3 <3 <3 Have a great day William with your lovely wife.
Thank you Mel for fowarding Jane's new e.mail, I also got one from Jane so have sent her a reply to see if it's all working.
How many more of us share our birthday with a famous/celebrity, I share mine with Prince Charles, although I am a year older than him. We all know Mel has the best one of all, St. Valentine. My daughter just missed out by 25 minutes born 12.25 am on the 15th Feb.
I am weilding a sledge hammer around today, have knocked most of the arbour down son built when he was about 12, he certainly built it to last :-| but still lots to do to get a patio area cleared.
I think I've got an Amy McDonald CD in my collection, is she a bit folky Jane. I really like Rumor, will get her new album soon.

Just tried weeding out one of the veg patches .Poor Broad beans and peas are just being strangled :-S.I managed to pick some peas and just a few Broad beans and am just going to see how many there are once I have shelled them.Probably just a handful :-S.But Chris pulled some carrots (baby ones) and they look pretty good.Enough for today and tomorrow. It is such a pity when all the hard work is put into growing things and our cra*** weather has just put the mockers on it this year.
I said yesterday that Hannah went to the Hyde Park Concert.Well she had free tickets and was in the hospitality bit .They didn't have to pay for a thing. She reckoned for her and John if they had paid for tickets drinks etc it would have cost them about £300!!!.I told her to make sure she stays friends with Caroline (her pal) who is the one who had free tickets to hand out.I wish I had a friend like that :-D :-D

Hi you lot, Have been busy as usual with Sunday Lunch.
Had a good lie in this morning, listened to a programme about Vanilla pods. How the farmers have to guard them from ROBBERS as they start to mature, then have to wrap them in hots towels for two days, and then care for them till ripe. With all the hard work they put in, they get next to northing for them. This is where "FAIR TRADE" comes into it's own, We look at the price of Vanilla pods and think "That's expensive" but when you hear what they have to do (the farmers) to get them to us, they are really cheap. !!!
Like wise, Roast pork today, with plenty of crackling. Ros and Lewis had a real treat. I can't eat it. !!! I We had Fresh Broad beans, peas, carrots, Cauli, and new pots from the bags. Yorkshire pudding, cheese sauce and gravy.
Lewis's mum is coming for him about 4.30/5.00pm. He has been wonderful as usual, wanted a cuddle with his PAPPY last night. which is so nice for a 13 year old to want. I must say he's getting heavy for my poor old knees. !!!!
Ros has got Lewis's bedding washed and dried today. Still fine here, for a nice change..
Jane, the old saying comes to mind. "It's not what you know, but who you know" Good luck to Hannah and hope she enjoyed her evening.
Happy Birthday OLD BOY. Hope you had a good one.!!!!

You're right jane, since I came in for lunch have had a couple of glasses of wine, so better put the hammer away for today !!!!
I feel sorry for the farmers, life is hard enough for them but this weather will probably be a disaster and we will all end up paying more for veg coming in from abroad. Have to say though my garden is looking really good for all the rain, have a bamboo I put in a pot so it wouldn't go wild in the garden, that has grown at least a foot and lots more plants have benefited from the wet weather.
I've been nibbling on nuts and crisps since my 'little' break and don't think I'll bother about dinner, maybe a salad.
Have sent an e.mail to a friend, told him about my plans to do a patio down the garden, maybe he will get the hint and offer to help. I have no idea how to lay patio slabs, have laid them on sand in the past and they all end up wobbly.

Hi Frank, didn't see you there. That's lovely that Lewis still wants a cuddle with his Pappy. My son is very cuddly, as are all my kids, must get that from their dad, but I have got more demonstrative with age. Is it the pork you don't eat or the crackling. I like pork but don't like crackling or any fat come to that on meat, my daughter and family love it when I am there for a meal, they can have my share of the crackling :-D
Think I'd better show my face back in the garden if only to put all the tools away

Evening All,
A very Happy Birthday to you William! A strawberry tea sounds fantastic, making my mouth water......enjoy your evening with the family.
Well I have been a right sleepyhead today. The neighbour with the barking dog whose workman got all that grit over my car(and the drive to paddle all in!) went on her hols yesterday. At 4.30am her burglar alarm went off, sending us scampering out of bed in a zombie daze thinking it was ours or our car alarms. OH went out after a while and saw it was her alarm, but there was nobody about. Trouble is it carried on going off every few minutes for about 2 hours AND I couldn't find my new EARPLUGS Mel!!!! :-| :-| :-| lol. I did have tel nos for her daughters once but lost them when my old phone packed up so we had to just lay there and put up with it. OH nodded off but not me and I nearly came on here but then it stopped.
Maureen, I just had a vision of you whirling around with that sledgehammer like a shot putter!! Best to do these things in short bursts anyway and at least you have made a start. Our old patio slabs were laid on sand and went wobbly. I think the ants fetching the sand out don't help. The new patio was laid on a few inches of ballast with a few inches of cement on top of that, so I hope the slabs stay put on that.
Crackling.......I love it but never have any. If we are out at a carvery I have to ask for some so OH can have it as well as his own!!! :-D
We put the weed fleece stuff down around the pebble pool this morning and fetched some slate chippings to go on top and put a couple of bags of those down on one side. Next we have the lovely job of emptying and cleaning all the grit out out of the pebble pool so it won't get in the pump when we put it in. :-|

Another Black Mark then for your Neighbours Ann :-S.Typical of your OH to manage to go back to sleep. That is definitely a man thing. Early night I guess for you then.Hopefully you will get an uninterrupted sleep tonight.I think I am just about ready for my bed.I just feel so tired all the time at the moment.I don't think this weather helps much.It must be the lack of sunshine :-| I just bought 2 more books on my Kindle.I can't believe how easy it is :-D.But I must remember I have 4 'proper' books waiting to be read.I find it much easier to read the Kindle in bed .I poo pooed the idea of it for a long time but think I am now a fan lol. No Kim today or yesterday I think.Hope all i well. The same with our Fiona.I will give her a call soon if we don't hear anything.
I hope William has enjoyed his Birthday and not eaten too many Strawberries. Night Night everyone x

Morning all,
Home alonr again for a few hours.
Carolyn rang 9.00am to ask Ros "Do you want to go Shopping" CAN A DUCK SWIM.
Talking of ducks, Carolyn has a pair in her garden, and yesterday they bought out NINE DUCKLINGS very small and fluffy. This morning there were only EIGHT.
Maureen the Crackling saga, I can't crunch it with my dentures. But Lewis and Ros had a right old feast.
Very wet and misserable morning here, Mild, but I don't think we will see any blue sky or sunshine.
I need to wash out my Green Bin, all the grass cuttings will be stuck to the inside. That BABY PARTY I mentioned is in fact BABY SHOWER. I have never heard of it. It came over here from the YANKS so no wonder we don't know about it. Another of their weird things !!!!
I am just about to go onto out local newsletter, regarding the DOG FOULING around the village, There's a £50.00 fine if caught. But still the Bugg### don't clear up behind their dogs. It's makes me made.
THANKS MEL, The rain is coming down now like stair rods. Are you blowing it our way ???

FRANK ,don't you dare send those stair rods this way :-S.It is just spitting still. I always make sure I pick up Chesters poo.I always have a pocket full of bags, and have been known to hand one or two out if I see someone not bother.I just say "oh dear don't you have a bag here's one" lol. Then they don't really have much choice.I have a feeling the fine here is possibly £1,000
So much for cleaning upstairs.I decided to steam mop the hall and front porch floors so I'm now stuck for a little while until the hall is dry. I better get the old cobweb brush out and give out burglar alarm sensors a wipe off as the chap is coming to do the yearly service this afternoon. One year when we were away on holiday the alarm went off and when my neighbour got the company out it turned out to be a spiders nest behind our bedroom sensor and babies had hatched :-S :-S :-S

Morning all,
Thanks Mel for sending me Jane's email address.
Yes Jane since my computer has changed the email set out is completely different (no I'm not keen on change either). I'm slowly working my way around, but Keith managed to alter your address for me.
Belated birthday wishes to William for yesterday, hope you had a good day.
As all my old emails are on the other computer :-S and OH hasn't worked out how to put them on here, could someone pls. email me the birthdays and address list? I had them written down somewhere, but now can't find them.
Daughter is back to school tomorrow. It's been a long 2 weeks :-( She has just sorted the school back - dumped everything on the floor and then put it ALL back in again. I hope there is no rotten or old food in there. Son has a couple of weeks' work with a local firm. It will give him some experience as he has only done some training so far. At least he will get paid and it may lead to other opportunities.
The weather has been sunny last couple of days, although really cold in the house. I am looking forward to spring. Half way through winter, roll on warmer days.
Joy our elderly neighbour came home today. I have not seen her, but I believe she is very wobbly on her legs. Not boding well for living on her own and she won't listen to reason - strong willed. Will have to see how it all goes, but her cat will be so pleased to have her back. Ann, had quite a chuckle at your post regarding the in-laws. They are a good age and still somewhat independent. There's nothing like a good shush to clear the cobwebs, lol. ;-)
Jane I meant to ask how Fitz, your sister and Fitz's mum are doing and also Mandy's BIL? I hope all is ok with Fiona, it has been a while.
Time for a cuppa and hello to everyone else I have missed. Cheers for now. 8.44 pm AEST
