Morning All and Evening Kim,

O the rain !! :-( :-(

What a horrible day. Hope Jane enjoys herself today with Hannah. I am sure she will. Probably be taken to that place they went to last time for lunch and more pressies. That should brighten a wet day.

I forgot to mention I had an email from Shirl after I sent her the deer pics. I did send them to William too but had no reply. I do hope everything is ok with him and Carmel.

Did we hear from Mandy yesterday?? or has she been washed away? ;-) ;-)

I hav'nt let the chickens out yet and they will be getting cross but I don't like to see them all soaking wet :-(

We had no internet connection yesterday late afternoon and evening. It did'nt come back till quite late. I also had trouble getting on here this morning. Oh had to reboot something in the end and then it worked.

Have to go up the shop too for the paper so better get on for now.

I'm with you Jane , I hope Murray wins, but he doesn't do much for me either!! I watched the Bomber Command programme last night Frank, and it brought tears to my eyes particularly the quiet dignity of those remaining men both in old age and having for years being considered 'bad boys'. I just feel that it's a pity this memorial couldn't have been errected thirty years ago when their generation were still active and people like my mother were still alive. It would have meant so much to her and thousands like her, parents, siblings, friends who are now dead. I'm pleased to see it and very happy for the few elderly men who have finally been recognised as 'brave boys', but for me, although I'm glad too, I just wish that the people who it really affected had been here to see it. I'm pleased that the photos reached you Kim and that you now have a 'jet propelled' computer! Mine is AWFUL, SO slow, and constantly telling me that I'm 'off line' grrrr!! The rain last night just poured down, now it has stopped, but is windy and generally grim! My Utility room is finally finished, complete with plumbing, so no more washing in the barn!! Hope Jane has a good day in London, think it should stay dry, but windy!

Afternoon all,

Jane will be down the "smoke" by now, hope she has a good day.

The sun came out here about 6.pm The best part of the day. This morning is quite bright, I think the rain is going to be NORTH AND SOUTH of us.

Well KIM, it will be harder for the family anf friends now, no purfume, when did this start.

Stange that we haven't heard from Shelia and William. Do hope they are both O.K..

The roads around here will be Murder today, Silverstone is only a few miles away, and we will hear the noise from the cars roaring round the track. Later the sky's will be full of Helicopters ferrying in the "POSH" folks to and from the track. The poor campers, are upto there shins in Mud, and I expect the parking in the fields around the area, will need TRACTORS to pull them out. All that for a days motor racing.

Trust you are all well, and not growing "WEB FEET".

Hi Frank, it's been 14 years since I last wore perfumes or sprays, have to use roll on deodorants. My throat closes over and get headaches and sinus, so not worth the misery, but I really do miss all my French perfumes. My daughter will sometimes come home wearing it and I then have hours of melt down. She really is a little minx. :-| ;-)

Have to convert emails from XP to Win***s 7. OH hasn't worked out how to do that yet.

Afternoon everyone, Evening Kim,

I'am here !! not got washed away , although we have had some heavy showers this morning ,one just after i'd hung some washing out !!

Kim, it must be very hard for you as so many things have strong scents these days ,how do you manage with things like soap powders and fabric conditioners ? also shower gels , hubby has to watch what shower gel he uses ,they bring him out in a rash !!

Yesterday coming home from the hospital we were behind a huge lorry and coming up to a roundabout , all of a sudden he braked and sent loads of blue smoke out from his wheels which stank of rubber ,we thought he might have had a blow out on one of his tyres it was so bad ,but he had just braked hard ,i managed to get in the other lane next to him, and we could see how close he was to the car in front ,how he missed not running into the back of that car we don't know.!!

Well Frank ,it must be raining hard where you are as i see the racing has been halted because of the heavy rain !!!

Time for a cuppa .

Very quiet on here today, is that because our Jane is away for the day ;-)

I'm not surprised nearly all your jewellery sold Ann, from the photos they were lovely.

Since the popularity of boot sales there has been a big decline in jumble sales, people are selling their own unwanted stuff rather than give it to churches/brownies etc to sell.

Don't think the Scots would be too happy you saying we have an English player in the finals Jane :-0 I haven't been following the tennis and am not that interested in the Olympics, might watch some of the gymnastics and track events though.

Hope everyone is feeling well today, not like Sheila to be so quiet, hope all is well with our absent friends.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Jul 2012 16:13

Oh went to ringfor a wedding after lunch. I made gooseberry jam.

I don't follow the tennis or the olympics. also I am elergic to perfumes as I have said before. I can only use B*ld washing powder in the lavender one and I use the lavender softener of M*rrisons. Can't use loads of soap or shower gel and tend to stick to Yardleys Lavender or the simple range. No smellie deoderants either just a Mum roll on unscented. I have to carry peppermints with me in case I get a perfume attack whilst out as they seem to help. My tongue starts to sting and my lips my eyes water and I choke too and lose my breath.

Here I am :-D.What a hectic day.The surprise was I was going to the theatre to see STOMP.Also it was Gay Parade, but sadly no actual parade as it was cancelled but what a Gay day it was lol.Brilliant.Never have I seen so many men all in one place .It was totally mad .Have a couple of pics I will send tomorrow. One of me with my new bessie mate ;-)
So tired now I can hardly type so see you all again tomorrow

MEgirl Report 8 Jul 2012 06:58

Morning everyone,

Jane looks like you had an interesting day with Hannah. Your friend was very colourful, lol. What a shame the parade was cancelled. Your weather must be the pits atm. We have sun and washing is now dry, but it is very chilly. July is always our coldest month.

OH has taken daughter out to buy some jeans and bits. She is desperately in need of clothes, but she won't wear anything that's warm - getting around in shorts and skimpy tops in the middle of winter. I can't fathom it :-S

Mandy I use a liquid laundry wash with no phosphate or perfume and a wool mix of same brand for my towels and delicates. I can't use fabric softener and haven't for over 10 years; just too strong.

Ann did you sell that lovely bracelet? It was in pinks/mauves I think mutli strands; I really loved that one.

Will be watching the tennis tonight and cheering for Murray, fingers crossed.

Pat does Mocha get the funnies when he can't go for his walk? My dog would sulk for days, like a little kid.

Must go and fold my washing. Hopefully some sun today for everyone. 3.55 pm AEST.

Jane Report 8 Jul 2012 09:56

Evening Kim and Morning All

Kim the parade wasn't cancelled because of the weather .It was the London Council that wouldn't let it go ahead.Funding issues and other reasons I think.Only cancelled a week ago. What a shame for all those who had spent money and time on floats and costumes. But everyone turned out anyway as you will see when I send the next pic.It took quite a while to get through that crowd :-S.Only being little I was up against sweaty armpits bare chests ,you name it I was crushed against it ;-) ;-)

Well Chris investigated under the floor boards yesterday and can see no water. But there is water still dripping .No way is that condensation. It has to be a leaky pipe under the floor somewhere.Which if so will be good news for us as we are covered :-D :-D.I think this saga is going to on and on for weeks now.

Kim I am not bothered with perfumes .Well most I am fine with .The one that does affect me is the one my Sister uses.it is Angel. That makes my throat go all peculiar :-S.I had more flowers yesterday from Rachel(Dubai)
No Lillies :-D.I think she must have remembered me saying that I don't do Lillies.

I better get moving and grooving and get all this glass ware and china back in the unit. That is going to take some time.

Morning and evening Kim,

Kim I hope Ann did'nt sell that braclet as I have already offered to buy it from her!!

Not to bad on the weather front at the moment. some sun and quite bright. Oh got me out of bed and handed me my glasses and siad "come quickly" I followed with bliery eyes and popped my glasses on only to see one of our visiting phesants up the path in the orchard. Oh said "watch" and walked down and moved my wheelbarrow parked on the path to reveal two baby phesants that were stuck in the fish tank standing on the path on it's side. They had walked in and could'nt find their way out. He slowly turned the tand aroun and they ran out. One went over the rockery and the other round and along the box hedge. Then she took them all the way up the garden and along my border and out the arch. She has 5 in all.

MEgirl Report 8 Jul 2012 11:08

Mel it's exquisite. I was going to put in an offer too, but you beat me to it.

Jane that was quite a crush, I would be fainting if I had to get through there and the smell, oooewwwww!! Oh ok thought it might have been the weather. Your security is top knotch for the Olympics from what I have seen. Everyone will be safe; no nutters getting through that level of protection.

Good luck with this leaking pipe. It must be so frustrating at this stage. :-|

Changed my pic. Taken about 8 years ago at Christmas.

Downton Abbey coming on soon, so I will say goodnight from me. 8.07 pm AEST

Afternoon all,

Same old sort of morning. Dark and misserable. No rain yet.

Would like to see Murrey win, but I won't be watching nor the Grand Prix. Just watching cars going round and round dosen't do anything for me.

Jane I bet you had a few words for Chris, wanting the floorboards up again. DON'T push him in and nail down the boards WILL YOU :-D :-D :-D

Mel how lovely to have the baby pheasants in the garden. Will you feed them and get them tamed ???

Kim, You look so well in your new photo !!!

Ros has decided that for her Birthday she would like to go to Buckingham Palace, for a conducted tour. She would take her friend Carolyn. The return coach trip and hotel is £99.00 p.p. plus Insurance and entry.. So don't know the final cast yet. Got to sort out the dates also.

Going to see about dinner, Roast beef again.

Jane Report 8 Jul 2012 13:27

Don't tempt me Frank :-D Bless him. It's all a bit stressful just not knowing yet where this water is coming from.We do now seem to think it definitely isn't to do with the Water Table(phew)
That would be nice for Ros to visit Buckingham Palace. When is her Birthday?

Yes Kim that is a lovely photo of you :-D

Well I now have 2 books on my kindle :-D.I better hurry up and finish the book I'm reading now and then I can get cracking on it.
Just had a very big downpour here ,but now has stopped and it's feeling a bit sticky.
Mens Final about to start.Fingers crossed for Murray. It's about time we had a winner.

Mel have you got any pics of the baby pheasants?

Maureen

Maureen Report 8 Jul 2012 13:38

OMG Jane, I've never seen such a crowd, not even Oxford Street at Christmas, are they all gay men, what a waste ;-) Are you sure your new bessie mate wasn't one of Beryl's daughter ....lol I haven't heard of STOMP what was it about.

The sun is out, who knows for how long, won't hold my breath. Daughter and new Son-i-l are coming today for dinner. Chicken's in the oven, smells really good. They are bringing their lap top as the photographer has put the wedding photos on some sort of blog for now as there were so many, about 700 I think, so we will probably be up till late looking at them all, they can then narrow them down and get them on a proper disc and have some printed off.

Would that be a hotel for the night on Ros's trip Frank, if so that's a very good price. I remember taking my son when he was very small to Hampton Court, he was too young to appreciate the history of the palace he just kept running through all the rooms looking up the fireplace chimneys, he was looking for Father Christmas :-D

Yes, that is a good photo of you Kim, you look really well, have you lost weight since then. The youngsters don't seem to feel the cold do they I was out the other day and there were lots of girls in strappy tops and shorts, it wasn't that warm :-0

I love perfume, it's funny how people's taste is so different, my daughter likes citrusy/spicy smells where I like flowery sweet smells but my absolute favourite is Chanel No.5. Years ago daughter used to wear Charlie, I couldn't sit near her for too long, it used to give me a headache.
