Morning Ann and all and Evening Kim,
Very warm and wet here today. Not raining at the moment but it has been. We have an old fashioned, very vigerous rose down the garden on the wall by the new pond and it smells so strongly this morning I had to come away from it. It has tiny pale pink flowers and I think it is really a shrub rose but oh has tied it to the fence on top of the low wall.
All very quiet here on the western front as my dad used to say!
Hope Ann has a good day at Hidcote.

Wow Frank that must have been a shock lolol ;-)
very muggy this morning I'm sweaty just sitting here :-S Need to go to town . My aircon will be blasting me Ann.You will be hanging out the window :-S Have a nice day as it looks like we are in for more rain this week :-S :-S.
Mel I just love the old fashioned Roses.I think I have said before they remind me of my Aunty Betty's back garden in Bideford. Her walled garden was just about all Roses and was wonderful.
Pat thanks for the pics .It looked lovely where to were in that first one .Looks like my kind of place :-D
Must make tracks .BBL

Morning one and all,
Been to the doctors this morning. My left knee which I had operated on eight years ago, has started to play up. Pains all round my kneecap. I am hobbling around even worse now, will need twin sticks ot a walking frame soon !!!. All he would say that since the cartilage was removed, the bones are rubbing together, and there's not a lot they can do. (WHAT ABOUT A NEW KNEE) :-D :-D :-D
We have an old fashioned ROSE behind the garage, Big red blooms and the smell is almost overpowering. Ros has taken cutting on mant occassions and replanted around the garden, She has given some to Conrad and Jan, and they are "BLOOMING GREAT" (sorry for the pun)Mel you will have to take cutting, and sell them at your Fetes.
They are closing the M 1 at Jcn 11 to 13 for 4 days on Saturday to demolish a 1,200 ton bridge So we will have to go to Wembley on Sunday via a different route.
We have a class of children in our close this morning doing their cycling. Which is O.K. but the noise goes right through you. Noisey wittle Beggers !!!!

I never took a cyling profishency test but many of my friends did.
Did you get a cert or something to say you had taken it??
Sorry about the knee frank but I have the same problem with my big toe on my right foot. I tripped and destroyed the cartilage and the hosp said I could have it pinned but I would never be able to bend it at all and I can a bit so I did'nt have it done. I can't wear high heels now because the toe dos'nt go up anymore.

Yes Mel, I think my two children (first marridge) had certificates for cycling, But wouldn't be happy with children being on bikes today, with all the traffic.
IIn the fifties I would cycle from Newbury Park, Ilford to the City, in all weathers. and use to get cut up all the time by bloo## cars and buses.
Quite overcast here but warm, Ros has all the bedding on the line. So must keep an eye on the weather.

Cold and raining here.
Congrats. to G.Aunty Jane and yes you can come and live with me. I hope the little fellows's mum responds to treatment and has a lifetime of love and bonding with her new son.
Have sent congrats. to Mandy on the birth of Lacey - a beautiful name.
Minx thinks she rules the house Ann and has us chasing our tails. ;-)
Pain is so bad, but I just wanted to say hello. Have a sunny (yes?) afternoon all. 10.25 pm AEST

We don't mention knew knees in this family Frank :-S :-S.Not nice for you though hobbling around.I hope it doesn't make your balance worse. I have my Cycling Proficiency Certificate somewhere.I remember being most upset the first time I went along to the classes because my legs weren't quite long enough for me to put my feet far enough down on the ground. So I had to wait until I just a teeny bit taller lol.I was not amused :-S

Thanks for the photos Mandy and Pat. The North certainly has some terrific scenery. Lacey Mae is a little cutie, she does look like her brother and sisters and doesn't your son look like you Mandy.
Just finished the ironing, typical, lots of sun this morning but now I've finished it has come over really cloudy, I'm really fed up with this weather.
Daughter phoned from Mauritius, I said ........ what are you doing phoning me on your honeymoon .......... they are having a wonderful time, she wanted to tell me that she had swam with dolphins that morning and had ridden a horse along the beach. The weather there isn't that great, warm but cloudy.
Don't remember there being any cycling proficiency when I was young, I used to be out on my bike all through the summer, riding it to the parks and around the park when the park keeper wasn't around.
Have B & * still got those offers on plants Frank, my son's partner wanted me to help her plant up some flowers, she hasn't got a clue having lived in flats all her life. I'll bet you'll be glad when June is over, it's been a drain on the old bank balance. What are you doing in Wembley, I'm only about four miles from there.
My dad used to say that too Mel, all quiet on the western front, probably goes back to when they were in WW11.

Maureen ,how great for your daughter to be able to swim with Dolphins.I think is something most of would love to do.I know I would cry buckets if I did it lol just because they are such amazing creatures.
Well I have done my ironing too and have the fan on .It is so humid now.I have a problem though as I can't find the bunch of hangers that I know I put somewhere for the shirts :-S I bought James some Linen trousers from M&* this morning for his holiday in Malta. They fit lovely but are about 4 inches too long. :-S It is the normal length he has too So will have to take them back and get them to order the shorter length. I have got 2 New Baby cards. One for my Nephew and one for the Mummy. I am finding it very difficult to know what to say in the cards :-SNeed to put my thinking cap on.It won't be so difficult for Michel's but never having met Jo and the difficult situation makes it a bit awkward. It is now raining.Just lightly but it really does feel a bit thundery.
Our first Cucumber was delicious. So sweet and tasty. Not like the shop bought ones at all.We now have 4 more in the fridge. They are the small cucumbers.Lovely Jubbly :-D :-D

Trying to spend as much time as I can out of the house, the builders will be back in shortly to knock down walls , and I hate the banging, it's comming along well ,we have only 1 more kitchen man to see before we make up our minds who to buy the kitchen from, it is not easy trying to sort out what to choose and where to get the best deal for your money, I will be glad when All workmen have gone.
Need to go know xxxxxx

Oh Fiona .No wonder you have your headaches!!! Knocking down walls now :-S Choosing Kitchens !.I'm getting a headache just thinking about it lol.I'm not trying to make light of it but I think once all the work has been done you will bound to feel better. You have had a heck of a lot of building work done over the last year.Your home isn't your home with all that going on is it.Back to normality is what you need now.
Chris is chilling in the summerhouse. He has been cutting the front hedge (which is actually next doors). He can only do so much without encroaching over to their side. Not that they would notice even if he did .But at least it looks a bit tidier now. It seems so dark now .I think I'm going to have to put a light on :-S.......AND IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SUMMER!!!!!!

Hi Shirl,
Nice to hear from you. Hope that back is a bit better. Shame about the tom plants. Never mind there is always next year....
I hope Ann and hubby had a nice day at Hidcote Gardens, I wonder if they bought anything?
Must get dinner on as I have a turkey breast to roast and I shall do stuffed jacket for him with cheese and onion. That should keep him quiet and I can have roast pots.

Shirl ,I think a lot of veg are not going to come to much this year.Tomato plants I think will flourish(bit too many for my liking)Our Roses are just starting to bloom(at last). Some smell beautiful already ,but not the heavy perfume of the old fashioned ones. Poor 'old' Chris is feeling cream crackered and achy after all his work doing the hedges.Early night for him I think
