Kim I have a borrlebrush tree on the south facing wall. Not quite a tree yet though. It got badly hit by the weather the winter before last but it has flowers coming on it again this year.

Sorry to hear you have even more meds. to take. Thinking of you love and sending wishes. xx <3 <3 xx

Have taken pics of two baby bluetits. One from the kitchen fan and one that oh found on the front lawn over by the west wall. Those pics are of the little one in his hand then he put it in the cotoniaster as mum was in the red robin tree watching us.

Morning Pat, Jane & Mel,

Thanks Mel, just not enough hours in the day to take all these things. I hate lots of medication as it leads to something else. Will look forward to seeing the pics of the little birds. I didn't think bottlebrush would grow in your climate. It will probably pick up in the warmer weather, but good it has flowers. I have a pretty pink one out the back too.

Afternoon everyone,
Not a lot going on pouring down so getting on with some ironing while waiting for daughter no 1 & Sofia later on this afternoon

Annx Report 6 Jun 2012 15:10

Afternoon All,

It was lovely and sunny this morning and I got quite a bit done in the garden and OH was in the field again tackling the 'stingers' behind the fence. Then it went showery while we went for a carvery, sunny again now. OH has flopped with the paper for a while, says he has TMP!!! (too much pud!!!) lol.

Rosemoor must be lovely just now Mel........I bet you do ache too.......a big garden to walk around. Look forward to seeing the pic of the bluetit babies.....they are so tiny and cute!! :-D Hope you enjoy the glass blowing today.....I love to watch it being done.

Sorry you have to take more meds Kim......still it's worth it if they help. I only have 1 a day to take (thyroid) but use one of those 7 day boxes as it is so easy to forget even just 1 tablet. Glad you have been enjoying the Jubilee celebrations. Around the local villages today, lots of houses have flags and bunting and all the pubs have them too. It is quite uplifting to see. I didn't know you could get pink bottlebrush. I've only seen the red variety down in the south west.

Shame the weather was so bad for you Sheila.......I think I would have been off too when the gazebo blew down.

Off to the garden centre now......BBL

Maureen Report 6 Jun 2012 15:29

You must be starting to rattle Kim with all that medication, at one point I was taking about 3 different types, steroids and all sorts, about 12 a day, thankfully that's gone down to 4 a day now, Ann is right if it helps it's worth taking although sometimes the cure is worse than the problem itself.

Wonder if Frank is on his way yet, if you are still looking in, have a great holiday and hope the weather picks up. Have only ever been as far as Cornwall once, we were camping and huddled in the tent while a thunderstorm raged, to make matters worse the radio said London was still in a heatwave. Have been to Devon a few times but mostly only get as far as Dorset.

When I can get back to normal food I will try your roasted veggies Jane, sounds very tasty and will make a change from salad.

What a shame about the street party Sheila, still it's that great British spirit ........ carry on regardless ......... and from the news it looks like everyone has had a great time, I guess we are used to being rained on.

It is a relief Fiona getting that first scan done, I know my daughter breathed a sigh, what date have they given your daughter and will she want to know if it's a boy or girl. What date has your DIL got Mandy, not too long for her now, my daughter's is the 18th October she wanted to know the sex but her partner doesn't so they are going to wait.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Jun 2012 17:01

Apologies Mandy :-S :-S.Belated wishes from me too for your Anniversary.
I have a feeling I forgot Franks too :-S :-S Naughty me :-|

Kim I also meant to thankyou for sending that email of the card that Sheila made for you.Sheila I thought it was great.Well done.Shame about your washout street party Sheila.I bet there were many like that :-S

Fiona that is good to know all is well the the baby scan :-DIt is always a relief to get the first one over.

Mel I hope you have had a good day at Dartington Glass. They make some lovely things.I have some Dartington glasses and water jug.A wedding present all those years ago.I think they are timeless.

Ann I hope those Bunnies don't think they have an easy entrance to your garden with all the brambles cut back !!!.We have spotted one baby one in our garden the last few days :-S.Chris was sat at the patio table with the Air Rifle(I wasn't happy)

Pat did you buy anything today?????? Or were you a good gal?

I bet Frank will be tucking into a nice meal tonight on the coast. It doesn't look like it is going to be fantastic weather for him :-S :-S.

I have spent the day at home ALL DAY.Pulled up a load of gone over Bluebell plants out the front. They come out of the gravel so easily.May get the rest done tomorrow.
Fitz has to take his car in to have a new Cam Belt fitted tomorrow and said he would treat me to the Chinese Buffet Lunch if I was to go and pick him up lol.I think that might be an offer I shouldn't refuse :-D.
Because of his DVT he is no longer able to do the drug trial that he was going to do.That is a huge disappointment.

We had some rumbling thunder earlier and a big downpour. But it didn't last long.Tomorrow looks a bit grim :-S :-S

Must go and see to James 's dinner .Honey and Mustard Chicken ,rice and carrots. We will have the same later but with more veg.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Jun 2012 17:23

Crikey I did a long post there lol

Kim sorry you find yourself on more meds :-(Was it a trip to Syndey or your local GP?

Black as your hat here now,and the traffic noise from the A14 is so loud. That is never a good thing :-S

I had a Squirrel back visiting earlier.Haven't seen them since Janice was here.
I wonder if this one might be a youngster.
Janice has gone back to work today.I expect she will be on her knees(pardon the pun).I will ring her in a bit and see how it went.No doubt her knee will be killing her tonight.

Evening everyone,

We have had thunder and lightning two or three times this afternoon, its now darkening up again so i think we're in for some more !!! :-S

Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes, we don't make a big thing of our Anniversary's any more ,we didn't even get each other a card this year ,it was nice that son treated us to lunch though.

I thought Frank said he was going away on Wednesday ,leaving about lunch time , i might be wrong !!

Baby's due at the end of the month for those who were asking ,no news yet on when they will try and turn the baby .
Fiona , glad all went well with daughters first scan, its nice to get the first one out of the way .

Ohhhhh getting black here again !!!!!

These long week ends put me all out

Annx Report 6 Jun 2012 21:38

I got soaked at the garden centre, then it stopped raining, so I went to another and got soaked there as well!! :-S I decided twice was enough, so I went home then!! It hammered it down here so hard at one point that the water was pouring over the edges of nextdoor's gutters front and back!

OH has been on the computer all afternoon till now, so I sat in the conservatory to finish my scarf. Now I realise I need a glue gun. Has anyone else used one? I haven't a clue what kind to buy. I suppose I better do some googling. :-S

Jane I meant to ask whether Hannah went to watch any of the Jubilee things in London? You haven't seen 'no ears' lately then. :-D The bunnies have never got into our garden since we put concrete gravel boards,at the bottom of the fence next to the field. (unless the fox brings them in!! :-0)They would come and munch the lawn when we first moved in. I'm sure they could get in if determined but the gravel boards sit on a load of gravel at the bottom of a wet ditch so it isn't good for burrowing.

I hope Janice managed ok today and that her knee is ok. Is she able to drive now? What a shame Fitz can't take part in the drug trial now he has this DVT. The offer of the chinese buffet lunch sounds brilliant for giving him a lift!! :-D :-D. Remember me to him and I shall think of you tucking in tomorrow.

I shouldn't imagine it is very pleasant having a baby turned Mandy.......better it is the right way up for the birth though.

I googled that art museum Fiona, what a lovely building it is in. I think I would have liked the armour collection too!

Annx Report 6 Jun 2012 21:42

Maureen, I had to smile at the pic of the cheeky monkeys! Finley has the look of a choirboy, as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Jun 2012 22:14

Ann,Hannah said the Street Party she went to was a wash out ,just like poor Sheila.I don't know if she went further in to the Centre for the big Celebrations. No doubt I will hear from her tomorrow.

Oh my goodness I am just listening to Music of the 70's on tv.It's George Macray(sp) "Rock Your Baby" I loved that :-D :-D.I was just going to go to bed but now think i will have to stay up and have a little boogie all on my tod .Chester will be cringing in his bed thinking .....here she goes again lol.I reckon he had enough of me carrying on with the Jubilee Concert!
I'll just go an jiggle my hips ;-)

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 7 Jun 2012 08:59

Morning all,

Jane I didn't know Fitz had a DVT. When was that found?? Poor man. Sorry he can't participate in that drug trial. Hope Janice is improving as well. You jiggle your hips whenever you like, lol. Meds. from doc in Sydney, only one I trust. Not too many good ones up on the Coast. Enjoy your lunch today and pass on my best wishes.

Maureen great that you are not on so many meds. I've got at least 20 vitamins I have to take as well, so it's a juggling act trying to fit them all in. Good luck tomorrow.

My elderly friend Joy has been blacking out. This is the lady that had the fall and broke her hip back in Feb. To cut a long story short, Keith contacted her family and they rang an ambulance after he had seen her yesterday. I don't think she would be with us today otherwise. She has severe pneumonia and some organs have started to shut down. Plus they have to work out what's causing the blackouts. I'm praying, but it's not looking too good. Keith has been feeding Cosi her little cat. I wanted to have her up here, but that was met with a resounding "NO".

I can remember Miranda went from the birth position at 36 weeks to breech. Should have known then I was going to have problems with her, lol. They tried to turn her back, but she would not budge. Stubborn as they come. ;-)

Another sad event, Sat. 9th will be the first anniversary of our neighbour Rod's death. It has come around so quickly. Glenda is in the US, so won't be in the house for that day. I am so pleased she is away, but having said that her mum passed away during the first week of the trip. They will have a funeral to plan when she gets back. The bub is due in August, so a happy event to dilute all this gloom.

Off to watch the news, so have a happy, sunny day. Might BBL 5.58 pm EST.

Jane Report 7 Jun 2012 10:13

Evening Kim and Morning everyone else
Thanks for the email Kim .Funny little chap lol

How sad that Rod's wife has to come back to sort her Mums funeral ,especially at this time too .Can't believe a whole year has passed since he died.

Fitz was complaining about an ache in his leg a couple of weeks ago ,so thankfully went to the GP.Who sent him srtaight to the DVT clinic .The scan showed a long clot from calf to mid thigh!!!.I thought he had just strained his muscles :-S :-S

I must fly now but will be back this afternoon

Maureen

Maureen Report 7 Jun 2012 14:15

I think the resounding NO was very wise Kim, you have enough to cope with, sometimes you just have to think of yourself first. Goodness a year already since your neighbour died, where is the time going.

Would have loved to join you Jane for a bit of hip wiggling, I have music full blast while ironing and quite often jig about, anyone looking in through the window would be laughing their heads off :-D

Pat or Kim can you e.mail me and help this poor old soul still stuck in the 1990's, I saw your messages on Facebook but have no idea how to comment back :-0

What a good job Fitz went to the GP about his leg otherwise ...... it doesn't bear thinking about ...... won't ask how your Chinese Buffet was I am now on water for the next 24 hours, even prisoners get better treatment .....LOL
