Hi All,
Brillient sunshin e here at present.
Mel, You are lucky having a pub so close that does excellent food and a good choice. The best our pub can do, is bugers, sausages, ham, chicken, all come with chips, never had any, so realy can't comment. From next Wednesday, I hope we find some good country pubs/restaurants, so we can gorge ourselves on seafood/fish.
Pat we are off to Torquay Wednesday lunchtime. We will spend a day down "PORT WEN" (Dr Martin) and Padstow (Rick Stein) We won't eat in the restaurant. luch starts at £37.00 per head. and evenings around £60.00 I don't want to buy shares LOL LOL But his Fish and Chip shop is suppose to be reasonably priced, and you just queue up and wait for a table, or eat it out of the wrapper. Fiona, Glad you are feeling a little better, take it easy my love. we don't want you laid up again. HOPE is goes down allright Jane. Jane I bet it will be nice to get back to normal, what sort of work is James doing, I have asked twice before, WHY YOU NO RISTEN. Yes it was Benny Hill. what a great bloke, I loved his chases around the fields. !!! I have only ever eaten Piella in Spain, and always made with fish and seafoods.Hope everyone likes your concoction !!!! and your chicken is cooked. !!
Maureen, I have always loved the King/Queen. They have been the backbone of the Country. I'm not keen on all the hangers on, Don't ger me started on those, I will end up in the TOWER , they just milk the Country dry, with all their "ROYAL" allowances. Get rid of those as soon as you like. As for the football, I don't see England doing much good, wrong Manager, and not enough commitment from some of the players. Bring back the 1966 SPIRIT.

My concoction is looking darned good and smelling yummy.Looks very yellow.Maybe a bit too much saffron :-S.It will be ready in 20 minutes.James will have his first so he can then go and settle in the summerhouse.Have told him to make up his packed lunch lolI don't want to hear him rummaging around in the kitchen in the middle of the night.(Kitchen right under my bedroom) :-S

Morning and it's raining here just because we wanted to go out today...............................................
Do you think I can find something to do in wet weather that will occupy two young ladies and three old ones?????? O and two grumpy hubbies :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|
We did think of going to Dartington Crystal but the shop is open but not the bit of the factory where they make the glass and thats the bit I have never seen. Not interested in the shop. We suggested the Eden Project again but Elizabeth gets hay fever so thats out.

Down to the PUB then Mel, At least you can can WET inside as well as outside. !!!!
Very windy here, so the rain may hold off, the field where the party is being held, is about the highest in the county. and a breeze up there is like a gale force wind.
We have been busy preparing food for us to take up there. Sausages on sticks, Egg and cress sandwiches, sausage rolls, We will take it up about 12.30 pm. If it is too cold, we will show our faces and dissapear into the club for a while, then make our way home. Neither of us can stand around for long. Might dig out a couple of chairs for us to sit on.
Just watching the parade to St Pauls. Don't we do the BEST in the whole world. ????
Hope I am excused with my spelling mistakes :-D :-D :-D Something to do with my education Didn't have much !!!!

Afternoon All,
Frank, we went to Rick Steins Restaurant at Falmouth for our F&C just to see what it was like .......very expensive, but at least you can see the prices before you go in!!!! We saw another restaurant of his at Padstow too.
Fiona, the builders are getting on well. I always think that once things get above ground they move on fast.
Well, the waterfall is in place at last, now just the surrounding rockwork to do and the water pipe to bury, then we can put the gravel and stones down and plant up. OH has been in the field at the back to cut down the brambles and stingers so we can see the bunnies and has taken a load to the tip. He said it was really busy.
Yesterday we went for a walk around the Battlefield Trail (battle of Bosworth) and along the canal. Lots of boats and bunting! We also went out to look at the beacon on Croft Hill by the quarry last night. It showed up much better than I expected.
Jane, you have reminded me of making those Vesta dried meals many years ago. I seem to remember doing a Paella in one of those.
It must be hard for the Queen with all these duties and her hubby in hospital. I bet she will welcome a rest afterwards. It has been very good though and the Royals really seemed to enjoy the concert. I thought the images projected on Buck Palace when Madness performed was brilliant.

Frank ,are you getting all excited about your hols???.I could do with going with you :-D :-D :-D
Ann my Paella went down a treat. :-D I was very pleased with it.Another dish to do again. I bet that water fall will look so pretty when it gets running.Hope you will send a piccie :-D
So Mel what have you done and where have you been today?Did you think of somewhere in the end?
I had better go an put the oven on now.James is just having Pasties tonight (NO NOT HOMEMADE) :-S Chris and I will have sausages ,Cauliflower Cheese and tray baked potatoes and veg again.I find it so easy to cook it that way as it saves lots of pans being used.

Afternoon everyone,
Had a lazy day today, son and family came this morning and we looked after the little ones while DIL and son went to see the midwife about turning the baby , DIL has to wait until tomorrow when the midwife can ring the hospital and get her booked in to have baby turned . The little ones came in with flowers, cards and chocolates for our anniversary and son took us out for a meal at lunch time , the little ones came too and were very good at the table ,they nearly cleared their plates .
This afternoon we nipped to the Ran*e for a few bits ,i got some different window cleaning stuff called Pro Shi*e ,my friend use's it and it brings the windows up a treat with no smears ,its a bit pricey but you only need a tiny amount , it can be used n the car body work too.
Ann, i can remember those Vesta ready meals i use to like the Beef Risotto one .
I really enjoyed the concert last night , i did think poor Cliff was struggling a bit at times to reach the high notes !! but he is getting on a bit !!
Jane when you do your veg in the oven ,do you just do just cut up all sorts of veg and sprinkle with olive oil and roast ? i never think of doing them like that i'll will have to try it .
I carn't think that today is Tuesday !! will be all put out this week , before you know it ,it will be the week end again !!

Pouring with rain here and not very warm, I remember that Jane, it was always called Flaming June years ago.
I was lucky yesterday while out picking up ironing, only one road closed off for street party don't know what tonight will be like, a bit of a wash out if it doesn't stop raining.
Hope the weather is good for you and Ros Frank, I'm really envious, could do with a holiday, didn't go anywhere last year either :-( Have a great time whatever the weather.
I have a colonoscopy on Friday, not looking forward to that, you'd think I'd be used to them by now, had one every two years for the past 20 years. Shan't want to read about all the lovely food you will be eating for the next few days and I shall be well acquainted with my white friend on thursday :-0
My mum always made a Vesta meal once a week,I think her favourite was rissotto, well that was the one I remember the most.
You have been a long time working on your garden Ann, can't wait to see some photos when it's all done, sounds beautiful.

Maureen ,I remember you having your last Colonoscopy. It doesn't seem like 2 years. We will all keep quite about food then ;-) ;-).I hope it all goes well even though it is not nice :-S
Mandy.I use Waxy Potatoes (Charlotte or Tesc* do a lovely one called Exquisita)that is the best one.I just par boil them for about 5 mins and cut in half. Then spread on a big baking tray.I then cut up Courgettes ,Carrots.Parsnips into fairly decent size chunks ,add them all to the tray.Sprinkle with a good few slugs of Olive Oil.Maybe fresh thyme sprigs.Bung in the oven for about 30 minutes turning after 15.
The other thing I do is the same potatoes ,but use Red.Yellow ,Orange Peppers,Courgettes ,Red onions,Mushrooms. Then when I turn them I sometimes add some Balsamic Vinegar. That's nice.Sometimes too I chuck in a couple of Chicken Breasts cut into a few chunks so everything is done on just the one tray.
Oh Gawd ! Chris has just dropped a light bulb on the garage floor right by the freezer :-S :-S.He says he has cleared it up ,but I will double check. The thought of a bit of that getting into Chesters Paw gives me the Heebie Jeebies. Some of theglass will be just like splinters :-S :-S :-S
I feel a little out of sorts this afternoon.Grumpy I think is the right word :-S :-S Early night in order I think .It must be all the excitement of last nights Jubilee Concert :-D :-D.I bopped ,bounced ,and danced and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing .Shame about Cliff though.I do wonder if it sounded better there rather than on TV.
Frank did you get all your food up to the do and did you stay? You mentioned Egg and Cress Sandwiches.I love them .Haven't had one for yonks.I think that could be something for tomorrow lunch if I can remember to get some Cress.

Don't expect too much Maureen.........we've been working on it a long time because progress has been slow as the rocks are heavy and do my back and knees in quickly. I shall be happy if the water goes down it and into the pebble pool!! lol. Good luck with your colonoscopy, at least it is good they keep an eye on things. OH has had 2 done and they are not too pleasant as you say. Still, the consomme soup will be good for the diet!! :-D
That is why I like roasted veg Jane......one tray to wash! Plus they are more tasty. I do mine like you said Mandy, but just put courgette and peppers in towards the end if we are having them. I always have onions too, but cut them smaller. The trick is cutting everything the right size to be all cooked at the same time. I did beetroot once but it needed peeling after so was a bit of a faff. I put basil on if I do tomatoes and peppers, but you can do your own thing with what you fancy. My chicken ends up on another tray Jane ......no room. lol I must try a drizzle of balsamic vinegar next time, sounds tasty.
Oh, Happy Anniversary to you both, hope you are enjoying your day!! :-D Nice to have a meal out and how nice the little ones were good and polished most of their food off. You have got me fancying a box of chocs now! lol. :-S

HI EVERYONE happy Jubilee to you. Our party was a bit of a let down held at the botton of the lane in a close not many people turned up there was loads of food but it was so windy. We the people who were there ate a lot talked about the weather rather than the Queen. Never mind it was the thought that someone cared enough to invite us. We gave up after the gazebo blew over ended up eating more in the house then went home.
Well what a lovely lot of celebrating the river site was nice until it rained the poor Duke do you think he got a cold in his back which effected his kidneys which gave him a bladder infection who knows what a time to get sick. I liked some of the concert the effects were great loved Kylee in her Pearly Queen outfit. But fell asleep during the winged bit and Grace Jones I do not like that lady. However the rest was great. Nice to see the younger royals enjoying themselves. Beryls comment me and Donnie were going down to London but Donnie would not let me take my deckchair he would not carry it. I had to smile .
Kim happy birthday for 2nd June I hope you had a lovely day it was great you enjoyed your cards. I hope you feel better and enjoyed your day.

Morning all, not that you would be up and about yet.
Frank just wanted to wish you a happy holiday and lots of sun.
Maureen good luck with your colonoscopy on Friday, hope results are clear. Isn't the prep. great fun. Your white friend with be heartily sick of you and visa versa. How is little Alfie doing by the way and your other cats?
Mandy a belated Happy Anniversary for yesterday. Hope all is going well with the bub, when is the due date?
Sheila thank you for your birthday wishes. I did send pics of your wonderful card to everyone, but don't know if they went through. You certainly put so much effort into making it for me. Thank you so much.
It was unfortunate the Duke had to spend time in hospital. I thought the Queen looked wonderful in her lovely gold dress for the performance. She has done the Commonwealth credit with her 60 years of dedication to the Crown. I'm not a republican, but I feel very proud to be part of this group of countries led by this Monarch.
We have had cyclonic conditions all night. The wind roared and the house seemed to lift with each blast. Torrential rain, ocean surges, plus the king tides and beach erosion. Lots of damage from fallen trees and buildings. Don't know what tonight will bring. :-S
I did have a trip to my doc yesterday. More problems, ho hum. Medication for reflux, which I didn't know I had apparently a dry form. He said the back of my throat was burnt, digestive enzymes to help my poor pancreatic function, more thyroid meds and the list goes on.
Shirl sorry to hear about your old tree. We have trimmed branches off some of ours and they have never recovered and just died off. The big one out the front is gone - looks a bit odd with one missing from the row. They were big bottlebrushes with red flowers.
Off to have a cuppa and take a look at the news. Hope you get some sunshine and the Duke is home from hospital soon. 4.28 pm EST

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Sun and showers this morning. Rained most of yesterday but we went to Rosemoor. They ahd an offer on for a joint membership at a cheaper price so oh bought one. I can now go anytime I like for nothing and take someone with me. we had a very tireing day walking all around the gardens. They had a Jubilee party on in the afternoon with a brass band and childrens entertainers but we did'nt go for tea and cakes as it was all quite loud. the flowers were amazing with all the trtees in their new leaf and the colours were smashing.
Today I ache like anything, legs arms and hands, o and back....
Today we are going to the Dartington Glass shop and factory with both sisters and family to see them making the glass as it was not open over the bank holiday, the factory that is.The shop was open but thats all.
Hope all is well with everyone as I have not read your posts yet.
Just waiting for a call from oh as he has taken SIL's car in to be repaired and I have to pick him up when he rings me.
