All up and running again. The battery was a Bugg## to get out. It's situated under the drivers seat, in a well. You have to remove the carpet and packing to get to it. Then there is a clamp that holds the battery in postion. You need an extention to the socket to reach down to undo it. I have various sockets, but not an extention to fit them. My neighbour Mick saw me struggling and came over. He had the bit of kit I needed. and helped me get the battery out. We were just packing up the tools when the van turned up with the new battery, so he helped my fit it. Now I have to reset the Radio Code. IF I CAN FIND IT

The sun has burnt off the mist, and is now a beautiful day. Ros is busy ironing, and with a load of washing on. So that will be out and dried in no time.

I have had my second shower of the day, after all the exertion fitting the battery, I was soaked with sweat.!!!!

Trust you all have a good day.

Well there you go Jane, and you thought your hubby had turned all romantic!!! Oh well! another time perhaps!!! Spoke to Laura last night, and she had a brilliant time on Tuesday. Obviously the weather was perfect which helped to make it particularly memorable. She said that the gardens were SO lovely and everyone looked happy and beautifully dressed, it was just lovely. The guards looked SO smart as did the Yeoman. The Royal Family were mostly there but not the young couple. Afternoon tea was,of course, cucumber sandwiches and other 'Tea' eats. The Queen looked fabulous and the old Duke splendid - Princess Alexandra was there as were the Duke of York (Laura said he looked pompous,) The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Royal and her husband, Duke of Kent but not the Duchess, I think they are virtually separated, (as I understand) she suffers from depression which is very sad.) Prince of Wales and Camilla - in fact, everyone who should be there was there!!! A really good time was had by all. She met up with my cousin and his family, so that helped make it an even happier day as they hadn't seen each other for ages. Not doing to much today - just 'pickling' around! Have discovered a really lovely deep red Peony by our Greenhouse, so I'm going to clear all the nettles and weeds that are engulfing it. Should look good!

Just a quickie.Phew It's blooming hot .No Frank I didn't lock myself in lol,but I have been in and out like a yoyo.Just to cool off by the fan .

It doesn't take long does it for a baby to make your house look like a bomb has gone off :-D :-D :-D.Ethan is a lovely little boy,but I think a bit unsetteled with all the travelling and moving from one place to another. His Daddy came too but Rachel has just taken him to the station to get the train back to London. He is off on a Stag do in Amsterdam in the early hours.
Rachel is so poorly, she has a right stinker of a cold ,and is 13 weeks pregnant. She is exhausted ,and looks it :-S
Ethan is asleep at the moment so I am on watch until Rachel gets back.
Chester is comatose d .He is getting too old for all this baby business. He seemed to get in all the photos I have taken too lol.I don't think is quite sure what to make of this strange creature in the house.
I hear crying so better go and do the Grandma thing :-D :-D :-D

It has been a hot one today. Have sat in the shade and had a read. Come in now to see about dinner. Minted lamb Chops, Jersey royals, peas & carrots Ros dosen't want a lot to eat tonight as it's so warm.

I had a letter from an old neighbour, who lived in Woodford Bridge. where I was born. She has enclosed 26 photo's of Woodford Bridge over the years. Mel, there is one of Frank Martins Fish shop. She also sent me the Funeral Service for my brother Bill, who died recently. That will go with old family photo's and passed onto Lewis.

Going to put dinner on now, so might see you later.

Frank, I'm on my way to Norhampton as I type this. Have found my trusty old binoculars out just in case I don't get close up. How come I'm getting this reputation as somewhat of a 'lady viewer'? Is it my frequent references to certain TV female cleavages? I'm just glad we didn't get one of those 3D TV's - otherwaise up be up at the hospital eye unit!!!!

Got our TV mag for next week, what a waste of paper. I see Eurovision is going to occupy most of BBC's Saturday night. Englebump Uncledink doesn't stand a chance with the cow song - "In the Moooooooooo-n light"
It'll be all politics again, and please don't vote for Greece, they have enough economic promblems without them having to worry about the expense of staging the next Euro Song Contest. The only two ways we'd win it is 1/ Uk was towed so it fitted into the Scaggerak to be near more European countries - or 2/ all countries were to sing their songs in their own language. Nuff said.

BBC hasn't made an appearance for a few days since the greenhouse incident. I think it's a physco ploy on his side. It's a known thing that I love cats (but not in MY garden doing whoopsies) and he's trying to discredit that. However, I have sworn pawferdavits from many cats that have been my friends over the years.

Enough nonsense for one day. Enjoy the warm uncomfortable weather and boys, throw those vests away!

And Frank. About that battery - don't you just love those five minute jobs!

Jane

Jane Report 24 May 2012 21:11

Oh heck ....desperate measures.Rachel is just putting Ethan in the car and going for a long drive up and down the A14 to get him off to sleep. He looks so wide awake and chirpy.!!!!I have a feeling we mat be in for a disturbed night,I don't think Chris would wake if he heard a screaming baby though.Once he's gone that is it.
I may get the chance to watch Long Lost Family :-DI do think it's lovely that both mother or father and children are desperate to find eachother. When I asked one of my Birth Brothers if he knew why our Mother had to put him and the others into care and put me up for adoption he said she never gave him any answers when he asked. To be honest I am quite pleased I never met her.She did the best thing for me by letting me go :-D :-D
Must watch the programme now.

Forgot to say chair arrived yesterday and it was put up and I had a couple of rests in it yesterday too.

I went up the road to get some ciggies for oh while he picked up some of the decking from Holsworthy. As I drove into Shebbear I passed a carrier lorry going towards home and thought I hope thats not for me!! It was when I got back the driver was waiting at the front door with a BIG box. I have it on the decking by the pond at the moment. I gave the driver a pint of ornage juice as he looked so hot.

Off to take the curtains down out the caravan now. Will pop in later if I have time.

Frank can you send me the pic of Frank Martin's shop please????? xxxxxxx

Morning/Evening Everyone.

It feels a bit fresher this morning ,but I have the fan on.Chris and I had the one on in the bedroom all night and just a sheet to cover us.
I didn't hear Ethan until 5am.I thought he had slept right through ,but Rachel said he woke 6 times :-S :-S
I have sent her off to have a shower and hair wash ,even a sleep if she wants.Just did several circuits of the garden to get his nibs off.So at the moment we are all sorted

Afternoon everyone,

Another glorious day here ,felt a little fresher first thing but its baking out there now !!
Went out with DIL first thing before the heat got to much for her ,she has a date at our hospital for them to try and turn the baby , i think she's hoping to see the same chap who turned Katie ,she said within 10 seconds he had turned her !!

Jane , it might be the travel cot that keeps waking Ethan ,DIL tried one and said she thought it was the movement of the cot that woke one of hers up when they used it ,they do tend to rock a bit when the baby moves.

Mel, we know what your doing !! your sitting in the new chair :-D :-D :-D get that caravan cleaned up!! :-D :-D

Right got to make a Quiche for tea .

Afternoon all,

All the shopping out of the way. New tyre fidded to the car. Collected four more bage of potting compost from Morris### Got to get them in from the boot. Went to see my little hairdresser and had a haircut, ready for my holiday.

Picked up my new glass's this morning. The main pair are so light, I don't know they are on my face. Might have to go back, as they seem to slip down my nose !!!

William Yes those 5 minute jobs take a "couple of hours." My left arm and shoulder ache like billio today !!!! All the "talent" was out and about this morning. Some looked nice, others should not wear shorts out shopping :-0 :-0 :-0.

Off to get the big FAN in for her Ladyship. Then cut the back lawn.

See you

.

Beryl came earlier and she had been to her art class .I said what did you paint to day and she said Dahlias. I had to laugh I said is that not a bit tame for you painting a Dahlia . Beryl had her little nephew Billy staying he is five. Beryl was the perfect grannie until the little chap decided to sit on her lap and poke a bead up her nose. oh my gosh she went beserk .The poor little lad nearly ended up on his head .The bead came down easily but now Beryl was not happy and gave Billy two chocolate teddies and said here go and choke yourself outside. I had to giggle where did the sweet loving grannie go to.Then the offended gran borrowed my phone and was was shouting Pandora come and fetch your son back .

My leg is not so bad now but still feels very weak.
I sent Kim her card .I waited for 5O minutes in the post office one counter was open and four closed. Would you believe we had another letter for Birmingham USA. .

Well Jedwood got through to the euro song contest. I think our song goes
first. I shall watch with Sophia shes doing well with her band having soup
mostly. Sophias lost 3 lbs.

April is funny she wrote me a letter and she said I served in the local candy store and got one doller and five cents. Mr Woody asked me to
say to people have a good day when they went. Nannie it was nice until one man said do not have a nice day me. I glared at him and said well have a bad one then. She said he said young lady your not to old to have a slapped bottom.I think he was cool though.
I thought whatever turns you on April .

I have not made any further plans for going to the states . Until we know wether Jess and Ryan want to move it is difficult .

The weather is lovely hot with a nice breeze.
I fell asleep on the swing chair my leg is still sore. I hope your all well on Genes.
